Chapter LXVI: Aggression

Life often welcomed people as another day graced upon them with a new chance to start over. The sun beamed and the colorful butterflies comfortably perched themselves on the designed railing of the balcony. It was an artful miracle that everyone had a chance at life repeatedly, not anyone could take that to their advantage but some, unfortunately, took that for granted.

It was just the usual life cycle: routine, unexpected events, and meaningful life lectures once the obstacles hit harder than before. At least, that was in my case, meant to me like high tides since my life was messed up countless times.

I could already imagine how angry students would be since we got special treatment for revision period and we would be back to solve the finals.

"Alright, we'll be fine mom, don't worry," Levy kept saying over the phone with my head safely placed on his abdomen and my arms around his waist, he kept playing with my hair.

"Love you, bye," Levy said before he disconnected the call as the tiny breezes welcomed us through the open balcony.

I was comfortable in my sky blue pajamas and I stretched like a cat on Levy's lap before I stood up to order breakfast since it was only nine am.

The sad truth of not being able to call my dad hit me hard but the only two reasons that I was doing this was to avenge the reason of his sadness and to find my inner peace that has been taken away from me.

I had tainted my own innocence but I was more than willing to take that back again.

"Mom told me that she talked to Mr. T and it had been settled but we will have to go back and study two days before the final so we should be able to deal with that," he informed me between neck kisses and I smiled at his arms around me.

Levy was my own source of comfort, I wouldn't know how to breathe anymore without my family so losing him was not a possibility for me. I would officially lose all sense of my sanity.

I ordered breakfast for us and we walked over to the balcony to take in the attractive colors of Portland. We didn't have time to watch the hotel's nicest features since it was too dark and we were too drained for this so we just went to the room and slept.

Being used to pressure was now my routine, thinking about the loaded study waiting for me back home irked me beyond the limits since I was a nerd but it was hard for me to concentrate after all these things that washed away our normal life and changed it to traumatic disorders.

The wide authentic view of the Oregon Museum was in front of our hotel room. My eyes feasted on the beauty of the patches of garden that lead to the entrance of the museum there.

After our gazing session, Levy answered the door and brought in our lavish breakfast with a sunflower beside it as a welcome gift. We thanked the lady and ate in peace before it was time to move for our tactics.

"Are you ready?" Levy changed to an all black suit which made him handsomely stand out with styled hair and light honey irises.

"Yes, I am," the cold metal in my hand was the constant reminder of the change that Levy talked about. I was in black leggings and a matching t-shirt with high-ankle boots.

When I thought about what Levy said to me, I knew it subconsciously but I kept denying it as a part of identity. Now, I felt like this was where I belonged all the time. That or it was just me being a maniac again.

We got ready with the discharge gadget and the cold metal on our hips, emptying the weapon bag we had packed for our mission.

Hand in hand, we walked with shades that covered our eyes and rode the Jeep that was parked far away from the public.

"This sure feels like the old days," Levy cheered which I found weird since he still liked these hide and seek missions.

"I will happily forget all of this when we start a new life," I said and he started to drive off to the place I described to him earlier.

My first house had bad and good memories, but it was more on the bad side than the good side. This was where my mom beat me to hell and back, this was where I stole a pencil from a friend of mine back in Kindergarten when she stayed over.

The car went deep into the woods as my eyes searched for the space that was once my house and it had been destructed.

Bullets spurred out of everywhere and the car lurched forward, it happened all of us a sudden, Levy swerved roughly and I bashed my head across the window when the sounds of shotguns were heard in the air.

"Levy, watch out!" I shouted as my body covered his when the car screeched an inch away from the large tree the moment Levy stepped on the brakes.

We both panted with sweat on our faces when our eyes tried to find the source of the aggressive bullets.

"That motherfucker," Levy cursed under his breath when he opened the car and found a man aiming at us, Levy's deadly shot reached to the man's heart, effectively killed him within a blink of an eye. "I am sick of your games, Meredith, come out wherever you are." he shouted as his predator's eyes glared at every area of the woods.

A rough hand slapped my mouth as the sound of the window crash was heard and Levy came back inside to pull me to him with his arms.

I bit the palm angrily and I succeeded as Levy reached for the gun, shooting the man behind me.

It was time for aggression, the moment we stepped out, there were five men that hurried to us.

I gripped my gun harder than before.
