Chapter LXIV: Road Trip (II)
There were six precautions that anyone should consider for any road trip in the world: never let the boyfriend drive, a supply of water, sun protection lotion, food, music and a foam neck pillow.
Mrs. Christina hugged us so tight after we had our bags safely placed in the trunk of a sleek red Jeep that Levy's mom rented for us.
"I will miss you so much even if it was just four days, call me every day and don't worry about school, I will talk to the principal." She informed us as she squished our cheeks and we tried to smile at her but ended up grimacing at the pain of Mrs. Christina inflicted on us with her slender fingers.
She pulled away and hugged us one last time before we finally got in the car which had everything. My hand pulled the lid of the small fridge that was beside me to see all kinds of food, an array of chocolates of each kind, a whole set of different types of water and chicken club sandwiches that filled half of the fridge, I was amused at how much Mrs. Christina put thought into this.
"She exaggerated a lot," Levy stated and I chuckled when he bent across my lap to get a KitKat bar, I was hungry as well so I took a sandwich and began to munch on it, moaning afterward at how delicious it tasted.
I blushed when I saw both Levy and the driver named Cooper giving me weird looks. "It tastes so good," I commented when I ate it in huge bites since my stomach nagged at me for my nonexistent eating schedule. It was no wonder I got incredibly thin.
"Babe, I told you to eat breakfast before we go," Levy scolded when he noticed my starved state. It wasn't just for diet reasons, it was because of the pressure I went through so I didn't make time to eat anything and basically ignored my needs.
"Look, I am eating so much now," I shoved another chicken sandwich after I finished the other one, meeting Levy's amused eyes with a chubby smile.
The driver announced that we would be reaching our destination in three hours so it was going to be a long trip, I lazily laid on Levy's chest as he gazed out and trailed his fingers on my arm soothingly.
"Do you think we will find her?" I asked in a whisper and he flitted his eyes down into mine in persistence.
"Yes, even if she was the last person on earth." he strained and I nodded at him before going back to take a nap. The last thing I felt was the butterfly kiss he gave me.

I didn't know why I had imagined my mom yesterday at the hospital in front of me, I was aching to know if this was real because she was really dead but the fact that I imagined her triggered something dark in me.
I wanted her to suffer. The mournful fact was that no daughter or son could ever wish something so bad to their own mother. It was sick but what she did to me reached me all the way, made my blood boil and just made me wish for something brasher to be inflicted on her.
I woke up half an hour ago when my eyes gazed openly at the beauty of Portland when we passed the Washington park where children giggled and clutched each others' hands to play the duck-duck-goose game, the stunning rose garden that peeked out between the oak trees, it was a sight that captivated me.
"Our first house will be here," Levy whispered in my ear as tingles delicately spread on my body like a happy feeling.
"Really?" I asked only to be met with a passionate kiss, ignoring the fact that there was a driver in front of us. I kissed him back and we both pulled away with wide smiles.
Knowing my overthinking habits, I grew nervous just imagining another twisted destiny for us where this was the last place we went to before we die and I was down in the dumps again.
Levy lifted my chin up with an intense gaze. "Lia, I want you to be safe and happy," why did it look like he was saying his final goodbye? "I want you to move on if something ever happens to me," my heart skipped a beat at his sincerity and I hugged him with tears in my eyes.
"Don't ever say that we will get through this together," I started when I looked into Levy's unconvinced eyes. It seemed like our thoughts only roamed around negativity but it didn't cover the fact of the intensity of our power against my weak aunt.
We came to a stop in front of Lloyd District as the night coated us with warm breezes that swept by us through the opened windows. There were quiet moments, the horror kind when all of a sudden a scream detonated and the shotgun was heard behind the Lloyd District.
In a flash, Cooper died when he struggled against the gun and there were a group of hooded men around the car.
Levy locked all the windows and the doors when the men tried to get in, my heart was in my throat as my shaky hands were trying to lift myself up when Levy jumped over to handle the steering wheel.
Cooper's body was on the ground out of the car because the men shot him and grabbed him out of the window to get in the car but Levy quickly locked all the windows and doors with the remote control.
Levy was a professional when it came to urgent situations or sudden consequences, I didn't blame him since he had many deals before.
"Fuck, come on," Levy growled as his hand inserted the key in the ignition hole when the men were trying to break the car but to no avail.
He reversed and stomped on two men behind the car before speeding away with two black BMW trying to catch us.
