WinWin's P.O.V

"Yuta's a nice guy," Yieun went on. "Are you going to see him again?"

"He said he would like to hang out some other time too." I directed my elbow in the direction of the car door. I found a placing and rested the side of my head in my hand while the other clutched onto my seatbelt for comfort.

"That's good." Yieun suddenly gasped. "He should come over for dinner sometime! He can meet mom and dad!"

I scrunched my nose. "Why do you sound so excited? You've never been this happy and enthusiastic about any of my other friends."

"Well, Yuta seems different." There was a tone in her voice I couldn't distinguish. "Like... different for you."

"What do you mean?"

"I don't know," she quickly replied. "He's hot though." A small giggle left Yieun.

"Good to know."

Yieun let out a light sigh before changing the subject. "Give me your left-over money from the movie."

I shoved my hand into my pocket, searching for what I still had. My hand pulled out the paper and handed it in the direction of Yieun.

"Winnie!" Yieun hit my shoulder with a gasp. "You didn't pay for anything? You made Yuta pay?"

"Ow! What are you talking about? I paid for our popcorn and drinks!"

"Sicheng! This is the twenty dollars you left with!"

It took me a couple of seconds to realize what happened. I let out an annoyed noise as I rubbed my face with my hands, then running them through my hair. "I was supposed to pay for popcorn, but apparently Yuta paid with his money, giving me the twenty saying it was my change."

Another gasp was heard from beside me. "Awe! He's such a gentleman!"

I scoffed, slowly shaking my head. "The way your emotions can change so fast..."

The car shook as it ran over the gravel of our driveway. Yieun came over to my side of the car and hooked her arm with mine to lead my inside.

"Hello!" she called after opening the door. "I brought WinWin back!"

The shuffling of my adoptive mom's shoes echoed in the hall on her way into the kitchen. "Oh, Sicheng! I heard you made a friend today!"

"His name is Yuta," Yieun answered.

"I'm not five, making friends isn't a new thing for me," I muttered.

"Yuta's really nice, too," Yieun put in. "Such a gentleman."

Mom giggled.

I grimaced.

"What time is it?" I asked to try and change the subject. "It feels late."

"It's almost 8," my dad answered, stepping into the room. "What's with all the excitement?"

"WinWin's friend Yuta. He paid for WinWin and everything," Yieun went on. "I think Yuta is a really good friend for WinWin."

"Stop making us sound so close!" I demanded. The room became stiff and silent except for the sound of the heating system running. "I barely know him."

A couple of awkward seconds passed before my mom cleared her throat. "There's left over food from dinner if you're still hungry," she spoke softly. "If you need anything, Winnie, just ask us." Her hand squeezed my arm before she shuffled back down the hall.

Yieun kissed my cheek and gave me a big bear hug, resting her head against my shoulder. "My little brother, how I love you so," she cooed.

I weakly hugged her back. "Yeah, I love you too," I reluctantly returned.

"Wow, considering all the things I do for you, that sounded pretty forced." Yieun kept a tight hug around me. "I think I deserve more than that."

"Fine. I love you!" I shouted and gave her a hug that was tighter than her own on me.

"Thank you. Now, get some sleep, kid." Yieun messed up my hair before walking off.

I started to make my way down the hall to my room, staying cautious, but I didn't have to worry since I've done this for so long that I know the steps so well.

Before I made it to my doorway, my phone started to buzz. I retrieved my phone, feeling for the home button to make sure I'm holding it the right way before answering.

"Hello?"

"Ah, Sicheng? It's Yuta." Yuta's voice started.

"Yeah? Why are you calling?"

"I wanted to make sure you got back safe."

I made my way to my bed and laid down with an arm behind my head. "I'm fine, you don't have to check up on me. By the way, I found out about that little trick you pulled with the money for popcorn and drinks."

Yuta laughed from his side of the line. "Of course, it's nothing."

"I specifically said I'll pay for it."

"And I specifically used my money instead."

I let out a sharp exhale while rubbing the side of my face with my free hand. "Is there anything else you wanted?"

"Oh, not really," Yuta paused, making me impatient. "I just wanted to know if you would like to go shopping with me Wednesday. I need to get something for my mom since her birthday is soon. I could use new cleats for soccer too."

"Yuta... Do I really need to remind you that I can't see?"

"I know, I know, but I enjoy your company."

"Whatever. I'm not doing anything that day, so feel free to drag this poor blind guy around."

"Great, I can't wait for this second date."

"Um, one... not a date. Two... this one isn't either. Now, goodnight, Yuta." I tapped near the bottom of the screen where I knew the end call button was. The phone slipped out of my hands as I placed it on my chest. "That guy never stops," I muttered to myself.

"Hah, you got that right, Sicheng!" Yuta's voice called from my phone. "I'll hang up now to save you from the embarrassment of missing the button."
