"Uh, I've been holding on to this for a while now." He looked at the box in his hands. "I didn't want to scare you away. I wanted to wait for the right time and have everyone here to watch." Magnus took a deep breath, looking down.

"But somehow this feels right. I love you Alexander Gideon Lightwood. I love you and I promise to keep you safe and happy for as long as I live." Magnus was shaking. "So."

He glanced up at Alec, who still stood in shock, soaking up each word that Magnus uttered. Magnus opened the box to reveal a gorgeous silver ring with diamonds glowing around it. Alec remembered it.

*Flashback*

They were walking by a store in Prague on New Year's Eve. Alec noticed the jewelry shop a mile back, but he was too shy to enter. Magnus grinned as he noticed this and he forces him into the store. Izzy's birthday was coming up, and Alec needed something for her.

They looked around for a bit until something caught his eye. A beautiful ring, silver and diamond-studded, was under the display case. It was stunning. Alec smiled at it before turning to Magnus. Magnus had 2 lockets in his hand for Izzy.

"It's stunning. I always told you, silver is more precious than gold." Magnus says, kissing his cheek. Alec smiled at the clear analogy he was making. They buy the lockets for Izzy and leave.

*End of Flashback*

"Alexander, will you marry me?" Magnus looked deeply into Alec's hazel eyes. He couldn't read Alec's expression, because it was blank. Magnus's stomach fluttered as a wave of worry washed over him. No no what if he made a mistake? What if Alexander wasn't ready? After all, he was only 18.

"I'm so sorry Alexander. It's fine if you don't god you're too young and.. uh... you.. uh." Magnus couldn't breathe. He was stuttering like a mad man. He was having a panic attack. His mind raced to think of something to say, anything to say. Alec snapped out of his gaze, tears falling down his face.

"Magnus oh god no. I mean yes." Alec swoops him in a tight embrace, kissing his boyfriend until he had stopped shaking. Magnus could say anything, but he didn't have to. Alec held out his hand. Magnus blushed as he put the ring on Alec. Alec closed his eyes. "I can't believe you actually thought, even for a second, I would say no." Alec said between sniffles.

"I...I was scared." Magnus admitted. "But I know I want you, Alexander. I know I can't live without you." Alec smiled as Magnus burrowed his head on his shoulder. "Though I'm mad about one thing." Alec murmured. Magnus feels his heart drop again. "I was supposed to propose to you." Alec whispered softly.

Magnus raised his head and gave a wink. "Guess I beat you to it." He said happily. Alec nods as he admired the ring. "Though I highly doubt that I can top this." Alec says, stunned at the shining ring. Magnus grinned. "I think you already did." Magnus kissed him one more time.

Alec frowned. "How?" Alec grumbled. Magnus laughs. "By smiling. Your smile is the best gift I can receive." Alec grabbed Magnus and kissed him softly. The world around them seemed to disappear, leaving behind a tiny glint coming from Alec's beautiful ring.
