I opened my eyes to find myself in a dark void filled with nothing.

Y/n: Am I...dead?

I looked around and there's nothing as far as I could see. However, I began to hear a familiar voice.

???: Y/N, is that you?!

Y/n: *Surprised* Uncle Shadow?! How are you here?

Shadow: I don't have much time to explain but I'm glad you're okay and not shattered.

Y/n: Yeah, me to-wait, what do you mean "not shattered"?

Shadow: When your father shattered the Paradox Prism, it wiped Green Hill and created distorted versions of it with different versions of your mother, Uncles, and Aunts called Shatter Spaces and Shatter Variants. Your father managed to exist in the Shatter Spaces while I can't.

I couldn't process the situation. My home is gone. All because Father didn't listen?! Calm down, Y/N. Getting angry won't fix the situation.

Shadow: Y/n, I also managed to find Cloud and Claws and they're trying to find you. So, don't do anything stupid. Good luck, nephew.

Uncle Shadow then disappeared, and I woke up in what appeared to be a room. I was so confused about what was going on. I looked around the room, wondering where I was, when I saw a door slide open. A woman entered, appearing to be wearing a uniform and having a blue bear in her pocket.

???: Ah, you're finally awake, Y/n.

Y/n: You know who I am?

???: Yes. I know you have a lot of questions but the commander of this ship Ratatoskr will explain.

Y/n: Commander? Ratatoskr? This is a lot to understand but I'll manage. Alright, can you please take me to the Commander?

???: Very well, I'm Reine Murasame. Ratatoskr's analysts.

Y/n: *Calm but nervous* Nice to meet you.

He bowed down as if this was some royalty meeting.

Reine: *Laughs a bit* There's no need for formalities. We don't do that here.

Y/n: *Scratches the back of his head* R-right, sorry about that.

We walked through the hallways as we finally arrived at the Command Room.

???: Y/n, you're finally awake.

I started to recognize that voice. It was Kotori, however she was looking different. She appears to be wearing a uniform and wearing black ribbons instead of her white ones.

I was shocked and surprised at the same time.

Y/n: Kotori, is that really you?

Kotori: What? You don't recognize me?

Y/n: It's just, you're acting different from the last time I saw you.

Kotori: You are as stupid as ever. You think I'm just some innocent sweet little girl you know so much of?

Y/n: ...I'm not even going to answer.

???: Y/n!

I turned around and saw Shido.

Y/n: Shido?! What are you doing here?

Shido: I'm as confused as you are! I was running to the shelter and the next thing I know is that I was here.

Kotori: Yes yes. The family is back together again. Also, Y/n.

Y/n: Yeah?

She tried to punch in the stomach but I used my speed to sidestep out of the way and I was confused by her sudden attack but not angry about it since I'm a mature person.

Y/n: Too slow and what was that for?

Kotori: For going out there in the open! What were you thinking?!

Y/n: I had to rescue you from danger.

Kotori: Please. You think I'm in distress when actuality I know how to look after myself. *Snickers* How stupid are you?

Y/n: *Pouts* Oh come on. Don't insult me like that, please.

Kotori: Anywho, you might be wondering why you are here. For starters, you are in Fraxinus, the ship I command. Our purpose is for us to save Spirits.

Y/n: Spirits?

Kotori: Yes. There is also one thing you should know. You are one of the Spirits.

Y/n: WHAT?! How?!

Kotori: We have been monitoring you since you arrived in this world. You also possess a low-level energy coursing through your body. You are the first male spirit to exist.

Y/n: Okay... This is a lot to take in. But what does this have to do with me being here?

Reine: Because you have what it takes to save them.

I turn to Shido.

Y/n: Shido, are you a part of this?

Shido: Trust me, I'm just as confused as you are.

Y/n: *Sighs* Okay. Anyways, so all of you believe I have what it takes to save Spirits. I don't know if I have what it takes to do so. I don't want anyone to get hurt because of me.

Just then, Kotori throws a book at me.

Y/n: Ow!

Kotori: *Sighs* You are self-loathing yourself right now.

I turnDed away, not wanting to deal with this. However, Kotori did something unexpected: she hugged me and it reminded me of Mother.

Kotori: Don't ever think about that. You are special, Y/n. You're the son of a hero and a strong-willed woman and you inherited both of their traits: a kind heart and strong will. You can accomplish the impossible because, without you, Spirits will cause chaos in the city with their powers uncontrolled. Now put that through your thick skull of yours and answer this: Do you have what it takes Y/n The Hedgehog?

Putting this to my thoughts, I think to myself. A part of me was scared but in my heart: I want to save everyone including the Spirits. That way, no one has to die.

Flashback

During the AST attack on us, trying to protect the girl, I noticed her face was kind of sad when I told her to get out of here. Before that, many events before the Shatter Event could have cost the lives of millions.

Present

I had a determined look ready with my answer.

Y/n: *Deep breaths* Alright, if all of you believe I can do this, then I got it!

Kotori breaks the hug and she then clicked her fingers with an arrogant smile on her face.

Kotori: That's the spirit. Welcome to Ratatoskr, Y/n. Kannasuki.

Kannasuki: Yes commander?

Kotori: I want you to take Y/n to the training facilities.

Y/n: Training? Puh-lease! I don't need training!

A few minutes later, I was in a training facility with a massive bump on my head from Kotori hitting me, and was sitting on a chair with a computer in front of me. It then opened up with "My Little Shido" on the screen. I started the game and tried to get used to it.

3rd POV

Shido and Kotori are seen observing the training.

Shido: Are you sure he's up for it?

Kotori: I am confident about him. I explained it to him by saving Spirits is by sealing them with a kiss.

Shido: That sounds kinda logical.

Kotori: I'm sure you'll get used to it. Although I have to use that he's really stuborn but is a kind-hearted person who will do anything for his loved-ones and that's what makes him unique.

Shido: I hope you're right.

Meanwhile

The same girl that Y/n met is sleeping in an unknown location and thinks to herself...

???: Why would he save me from them. I might meet him again when I have the chance and why is my heart beating so fast?

She blushed when a thought of Y/n appeared in her head.
