Y/n's POV Location: Outside Tengu City

I opened my eyes and got up to start my routine. I put on my shoes, my gloves, and my belt before grooming my quills. I looked at my reflections in the makeshift mirror I had. 

Y/n: *Sighs* It's hard to believe that I'm now Sonic The Hedgehog. It'll take some time to get used to this.

That's right, this is not what I really look like. I used to be human, but something happened that I don't like talking about. I left the cave that I call home to look for food in the city before going outside; I put on a cloak so people wouldn't freak out.

Y/n: (I wonder if Shiori would mind if I borrow some essentials.)

I made my towards the city, avoiding the crowds of people so that I didn't get trampled on; I kept walking until I arrived at my destination. I knocked on the door and heard someone call out, "Coming." After a few minutes, the door opened to reveal a cute girl with blue hair.

Shiori: Oh, good morning, Y/n!

Y/n: Morning, Shiori. How are you this fine morning?

Shiori: Just fine. I was about to make breakfast; wanna join us?

Y/n: Sure!

I went inside and hung my cloak on the coat hangar. I removed my shoes so I didn't dirty the floor and made my way to the dining room. I saw Kotori watching the news, and she noticed me.

Kotori: Y/n! *Jumps into Y/n's arms* Did you miss me?

Y/n: *Pats her head* Yep, I sure did. Your sister invited me to eat breakfast with you.

Kotori: Yay!

I smile at Kotori's happiness. She's too pure when she's wearing her white ribbons. While Shiori was making breakfast, Kotori was sitting on my lap, which made me blush. Her sister was shooting glances at us, and I could have sworn she had a hint of jealousy in her eyes. After a while, we ate breakfast, and I was about to leave before Shiori stopped me.

Shiori: Hey, Y/n, there's a baseball happening later on today, and I was wondering *Blushes* if you could go with me?

Y/n: I'd love to, Shiori, but I can't because what if someone steps on my cloak and my true appearance gets revealed? I don't want to be hunted down for my power.

Shiori gets sad at my answer before getting an idea.

Shiori: When the game is over, could I send you a message so you can play baseball? That way, you can have some fun.

Y/n: Really? You'd do that for me?

Shiori: Of course!

Y/n: *Hugs her* Thanks, Shiori. I'm glad to have a friend like you.

Shiori: Yeah...a friend.

I broke the hug and left the house to return to my cave. I sat on my beanbag and quickly began reading superhero comics.

3rd POV Nighttime

It was now late at night, and Y/n had already received Shiori's message to go to the baseball field. The blue hedgehog's eyes were practically beaming with excitement.

Y/n: This is going to be so memorable!

Y/n puts on some gear and thinks, "Hey, I should spend this time as a kid."

Y/n: Bottom of the ninth tie score and exactly who you want at the plate with a game on the line, Y/n! But staring him down from the pitcher's mound is the most fearsome south ball in Tengu City, also Y/n! Okay, focus Y/n. If you win this game, you'll be the most beloved kid in Tengu City.

Y/n starts goofing, showing he is still a kid at heart and acting like a referee.

Y/n: Hit it to the guy on the left; he's a real space case.

Y/n goes to act like he's an airhead and goes back to the pitcher's mound.

Y/n: Ugh, I can't with that guy.

Y/n is enjoying his time in the field. Most of the time, he's never got to play outside, but this is something he'll never forget. Y/n throws the ball, runs back to hit it, and starts having fun around the field. He cannot contain himself when he reaches the last plate; he is happy.

Y/n: I did it! I did it! Did you...see that?

Y/n looked around and realized that no one was watching. He was all alone.

Y/n: *Saddened* I really am alone. All alone, forever.

Y/n starts running around the field, not knowing that he is charging up energy in his quills; he is running so fast that he is sinking into the ground. Why? Why was fate so cruel to him? What did he do to deserve this?!

The energy building up inside him was reaching its limits, and a surge of energy shot out of Y/n as he screamed in sadness.

The energy spread throughout the whole planet, knocking out half the power on Earth, which surprised the blue hedgehog. He never knew he was capable of such a feat.

Y/n: *Worried* I'm sure no one noticed that giant blue explosion, right?

He ran back to his cave so he would not get in trouble with the AST.

Meanwhile, Shiori's POV

This is crazy! The whole city's power went out! Right now, I am using my phone's flashlight so I don't bump into something; Kotori is already asleep, so I don't have to worry about her.

Shiori: What the heck happened?

Suddenly, I noticed a bright blue light coming from my room. I entered and saw one of Y/n's quills, which he had given me as a memento. It was the source of the light,t meaning this blackout involved him. What could have happened?
