Data mining

Data mining is simply filtering through large amounts of raw data for useful information that give businesses a competive edge.

The most popular tool used when mining os AI(atifical intelligence). There are 3 methods:

1. Neural networks: the software continually analyse and compare data until patterns emerge. And then look for other patterns bases on therse rules or sends out an alarm when a trigger value is hit.

2. Clustering: devide data into groups base on similar feature or limited data ranges. It is's used when data isn't lavelled in a way that is favourable to mining.

3. Decision trees: separate into subsets and then anslyse the subsets to divide them into further subsets for a number of levels.

Mining tools can work with all types of data storage, from large data to smaller desktop databases to flar files.

When the process is complete, the mining software generates a report. Name of the ways in which data mining is currently used: analyzing supreme Court decisions, discovering patterns in heath care, pulling stories about compatitors from new swires.........

There really is no limit to the type of business or area of study where data mining can be benefitcial.
