I sat in between Beth's legs while she was braiding my hair. I loved these days were it was just me and my family concealed from the rest of the world. When the world went to shit we were glad that we lived on a farm. Our town did go through shit but since we had to go miles into town we were far away from that.

I winced as Beth pulled on tightly, "Ow Beth!"

"Sorry! It was loose," said Beth laughing

We always had a double meaning since we were both young and never experienced any type of sexual experience.

"Oh my Gosh! You're nasty."

Maggie came in the room smiling at us, "Daddy wants us to come downstairs, he's reading the bible."

I sighed, I still believed in God but it's tough after everything it changes my view on things.

"(y/n), please? For daddy?" asked Maggie

I nodded, "Of course."

Beth tied my hair and stood up, I struggled to get up since I had bad knees. She helped me get up and I tripped into her arms. We started laughing.

"Girls!" said Maggie

"Damn we're coming, mom," I said rolling my eyes.

~Weeks after~ (rick's group had already arrived)

We were all sitting at the fire blazing high, I sat next to Daryl since he was teaching me how to make an arrow for a crossbow.

My eyes opened wide at the finished product, "Wow that's really cool."

Daryl slipped a small smile but quickly went back to his unamused face, "It's alright."

I frowned, I started liking Daryl ever since he arrived with Rick's group. He was shy and seemed to be an outcast, he didn't like being near the people but that made him more attractive, he was a mystery.

I stood up and headed inside, I needed a drink.

I looked everywhere in the kitchen when I realized we didn't have any alcohol in the house, not after daddy's accident.

"Just stupid," I said to myself.

"Who?"

I turned quickly and saw Maggie and Beth.

"Ya'll scared the hell out of me!"

"We noticed you talking to Daryl," smirked Beth

Maggie nodded, "We know you like him."

I sighed, "He doesn't feel the same."

"So you asked him?" asked Beth all excited

"No, I just know it. I need soda or something."

"Go to town tomorrow and ask Daryl to go with you. Maybe you tell him how you feel," said Maggie

~Time Skip to the morning~

I walked over to where Daryl was, he didn't even bother to look up.

"Daryl?"

He grunted in response, I rolled my eyes.

"I need to go into town for an errand, can you come with me?"

Daryl didn't reply so I took it as a no, I started walking away when he turned on his motorcycle.

"Come on," said Daryl

I smiled, "Wait on that?"

"You're scared? We can go walking." shrugged Daryl

"No, it's fine," I said putting my leg over. I scooted a little closer to Daryl's back, I put my arms around him a little tightly.

He started going a little faster as we were on the road, he dodged some cars and finally we arrived in our town. It was so empty with some stores. I got down and walked towards a pharmacy. I knocked on the door and saw no dead ones coming. I walked in pointing my gun towards anything that came out.

I sighed as I went through the aisles, I grabbed some feminine products, shower things and just stuff we might need. I didn't notice Daryl was behind me. I walked into him, I let out a scream.

"Ssh! It's me," whispered Daryl

I placed my hand on my chest, I was breathing heavily, "Shit, I got scared."

Daryl smirked, "First time I've heard you curse."

"I've cursed a lot of times Daryl."

Daryl nodded sarcastically, "Okay (y/n)"

The way he said my name made me feel things I shouldn't feel. I need my damn drink.

"I need a drink, there's a bar next door. Let's go?"

Daryl walked out and I followed him, we noticed there was nothing in the bar so we went in.

I saw emptiness so I went to the storage room, I looked around for a good bottle.

I felt something cold grab my ankle pulling me down, I let out a scream, I couldn't die like this. I started kicking but my legs were giving out. The dead man was starting to open his mouth when an arrow went through his eye, killing it instantly.

I got up and hugged Daryl," Thank you, I froze."

Daryl nodded, "Be careful. Let's go you're not staying here."

It was now or never, "Daryl wait. I need to tell you something."

Daryl stopped in his tracks and turned to face me.

"I like you, a lot. I don't know if you feel the same because you're cold towards me but I can't live knowing you won't know."

Daryl smiled, he got close towards me, he leaned in and kissed my lips. His lips were so soft.

"(Y/n), I like you too. I was cold towards you because I'm scared of losing you," said Daryl holding my hand

"Don't be Daryl. You can never lose me."
