Our adventure begins
"I found a bit of a message earlier." Luke said.
"Yes I seem to have found it." Ben replied as the hologram began to play.
"General Kenobi, years ago you served my father in the clone wars. Now he begs you to help him in his struggle agenst the Empire. I regret that I am unable to bring you my father's request in person but my ship has fallen under attack and I'm afraid that my mission to bring you to Alderan has failed. I have placed information vital to the survival of the rebellion into the memory systems in this r2 Unit. My father will know how to retrieve it. You must see this droid safely to my father on Alderan. This is our most desperate hour Help me Obi-Wan Kenobi, your my only hope." The hologram of Princess Leia pleaded.
"Interesting." I replied as I listened to the recording. "Most interesting."
"You must learn the ways of the force if you are to come to me to Alderan." Ben said turning to Luke.
"I'm not going to Alderan. I've got to get home it's late I'm in for it enough as it is." Luke replied getting up and heading towards the door.
"I need your help Luke. She needs your help. I'm getting too old for this sort of thing." Ben replied.
"I can't get involved I've got work to do. It's not that I like the Empire I hate it but there is nothing I can do about it right now." Luke replied.
"Whewe is Awdewan?" I asked hoping for an invite on what seemed to sound like an exciting adventure.
"It's such a long way from here." Luke replied with a sigh.
"That's your Uncle talking." Ben replied.
"My Uncle How am i even going to explain this?" Luke asked running his hands through his hair.
"Learn about the force Luke." Ben replied as if we're that simple.
"Look I can take you as far as Anchoridge. You can get a transport there to Mois eisleis or wherever your going." Luke replied.
"Luke why are you acting wike such a big baby? Whewe you sense of adbentue?" I replied. "Wets hewp Ben out. Wets bwikg des pwans to Awdewan and hewp the webews bwing a cwushing bowe to de Empiwe. It's what you aways dweamed of doing isn't it?" I asked.
"Look kid, you don't even know me well enough to say something like that. This is a privet conversation so butt out!" I frowned I wasn't just some little kid.
I was going to reply back but Ben held me back and replied "Luke must do what he feels his right."
Luke decided that it was time for him to head home so we hopped in his landspeeder and away we went. Not too far from the homestead he found a Jawa tank that looked as if it had been attacked by sand people.
"It looks like the sand people were here all right theres gaffi sticks and Bantha tracks all over. But I've never heard of them hitting something this big before." Luke replied as they looked at the damaged jawa vehicle.
As I looked around I began to have a bad feeling that I knew who was truly responsible.
"They didn't but we are made to think they have. These tracks are side by side sand people always ride single file to hide there number." Ben replied.
"These are the same Jawa's that sold us R2 & 3PO." Luke said concerned.
"And these blaster marks far to actuate for sand people..." Ben continued.
"Oh no." I replied shaking my head sadly. "No."
"Only imperial storm troopers are so precise." Ben replied finishing his sentence. I knew however, that there were a few bounty hunters who could also frame sand people or anyone else they need too should the need arise.
"But why would imperial troops want to slaughter Jawa's?" Luke asked. I looked sadly over towards the two droids as did Luke. "If they traced the robots here then they might have learned who they sold them too. And that would lead them back home." Luke said worriedly rushing towards his land speeder as was I.
"Wait Luke, Catherine! It's too dangerous!" Ben called to him but Luke had already jumped into his land speeder and drove off towards the homestead.
Upon arrival we saw the smoke rising from the farm. Luke got out of his speeder and starting calling for his aunt and uncle. "Uncle Owen, Aunt Beru? Uncle Owen?" It was then that Luke spotted the burnt remains of his Aunt and Uncle. As I walked up I recognized the handiwork immediately.
"Oh no." I groaned as I spotted the skeletons. Upon semi closer inspection I knew right away that this hasn't been done just by imperil officers. "Boba what have you done?" I whispered quietly. This was Boba's signature when not specified dead or alive he would take any opportunity to incinerate people.
"There is nothing you could have done. If you had been here you'd have been killed too and the droids would be in the hands of the Empire." Ben said to Luke trying to comfort him.
"I will go to you to Alderan there is nothing for me here." Luke relied.
"May i come too? I want to help." Luke shrugged his shoulders. "I don't see why not. Ben?" Luke asked.
"I'm not sure a child of your age should be going on such a journey. No you should go home." Ben replied.
"I don't have a home, I'm an orphan. All I habe to remember my parents by is this owd binky." I replied
Ben's eyes widened upon recognizing the pacifier. "On second thought perhaps you should join us."
We soon found ourselves standing on the hillside overlooking Mois Eslies. "You will never find a more wretched place of scum and villanry." Ben said as we stared at the town below. I scoffed at this comment. obviously he had never been to Jabba's palace.
We soon found ourselves being stopped and questioned by storm troopers. "How long have you had these droids?" The trooper demanded.
"Three to four seasons." Luke replied trying to sound as convincing as he could.
"They are for sale if your interested." Ben replied.
"Let me see your license and registration." One of the storm trooper replied most likely sensing Luke's uneasiness.
Ben waved his hand slightly and replied "you don't need to see his license and registration.
The storm trooper turned to the other trooper and replied "we don't need to see his license and registration."
"These are not the droids your looking for." Ben replied waving his hand slightly once more.
"These aren't the droids we are looking for."
"Move along." Ben said quietly.
"Move along." The storm trooper replied waving his hand "move along."
"How did you do that?" Luke asked confused.
"You can easily influenced the weak minded using the force you'll find it to be a powerful ally." Ben replied.
"Ah here we are. Chewie here says that he has a ship that might meets our needs." Ben said after a few minutes of being in the bar.
"Han Solo captain of the millennium falcon. Chewie here tells me your looking to book passage to the Alderan System."
"Yes if it's a fast ship." Ben replied.
"Fast ship? You've never heard of the millennium falcon?" Han Solo asked shocked.
"No should I have?" Ben replied.
"We are talking about the ship that ran the Kessel run in under twelve parssects." Han boasted. "I've out run imperils star ships not those bulk ships I'm talking imperial cruisers she's fast enough for you old man." Han replied. "What's the cargo?"
"Just me, the boy, the girl and our two droids."
"What are you in some kind of local trouble?"
"Let's just say we'd like to avoid run ins with any imperials."
"That's the trick isn't it?" Han replied. "Now that'll cost you extra. I want Ten thousand in advance." Han replied.
After naming the price Luke became frustrated. "Ten thousand dollars? We could almost purchase a ship for that price."
"Yeah but who's going to pilot it kid? You?" Han replied with a smirk.
"You bet I could I'm not such a bad pilot myself." Luke replied defensively. "Come on we don't have to take this!" He would have argued more but Ben held up his hand stopping him.
"We don't have that much on us right now but we can pay you two thousand now plus an extra fifteen upon delivery." Ben replied.
"$17,000? You got yourself a deal. We will leave as soon as your ready. The ship is at docking bay ninety four." Han replied.
"Come on let's go get the droids." Luke said but I shook my head. "I think I'd like to stay here if it's all the same to you." I replied.
"Sure kid whatever." Han replied. No sooner had Ben and Luke left then a bounty hunter by the name of Greedo sat down in the booth.
"What do you want Greedo?" I asked irritatedly. I knew that if he was here then Jabba wasn't far behind.
Greedo ignored my comment but replied "Jabba will be happy to hear that you haven't left his territory. The whole court will be looking forward to your return." He said with a smile and I frowned. Then turning his attention to Han he stated that "I've been waiting for this moment for a long time."
Han smirked "I'm sure you have. Tell Jabba I have the money."
"Give it to me and maybe I will forget every seeing you." Greedo replied.
"I don't have it on me. Tell Jabba..."
"Jabba is tired of your excuses. He doesn't am have time for a smuggler who dumps his cargo at the first sign of an imperial star cruiser." Greedo replied.
"Hay even I get boarded sometimes. Do you think I had a choice?" Han replied defensively.
"You can tell that to Jabba. Maybe you'll get lucky maybe he'll only take your ship." Greedo replied.
"Over my dead body." Han replied reaching for his blaster.
"That's the idea. You don't know how long I've been waiting for this day." Greedo replied shooting his blaster missing Han.
"Yeah I'm sure you have." Han replied shooting his blaster frying Greedo. Everyone looked up momentarily "sorry about the mess." He said tossing a gold coin towards the barkeeper. "So, you use to belong to Jabba? Sounds like he'd pay a fortune for your return. Don't worry kid, I may owe Jabba a fortune but I've got my standards. I won't condemn you to a life of slavery just to satisfy my debt."
"Thanks. Could you use any help with the ship?"
"No but your welcome to wait on board while I do my final check." Han replied.
A few minutes after I entered the falcon I heard a voice that i wasn't happy to hear. "Solo! Come out Solo!" Recognizing the voice I ducked further inside the falcon to hide. The last thing I wanted was Jabba seeing me. Unfortunately, it was too late. " I see you Catherine. Come out here." Jabba called to me however, before I could respond Han blocked the way to the falcon's entrance.
"I've been waiting for you Jabba." Han replied.
"I expected you would be." Jabba replied.
"I'm not the type to run." Han replied.
"Han, Han my boy sometimes you disappoint me. Why haven't you paid me and why did you have to fry poor Greedo?"
"You sent him to fry me." Han replied irritatedly.
Jabba pretends to be shocked. "Your the best smuggler around your too valuable to fry. He was just relaying my concerns about your delay in payment. He wasn't going to fry to fry you."
"Yeah right." I replied leaning up against the entrance to the falcon.
"Well he thought he was. Next time if you have something to say you come to me yourself. Don't sent one of your twerps."
"Han, Han I can't aford to make exceptions. What if every one who worked for me dumped their cargo at the fist sign of an imperial star ship? It's just not good business."
"You know that even I get boarded sometimes Jabba. Do you think I had a choice? But I've booked a charter now and I'll be able to pay you back plus a little extra on the side." Han replied.
"How about you give me Catherine and we will call it even." Jabba replied.
"I'm afraid I can't do that." Han replied.
"Whys that?" Jabba demanded.
"She's part of the charter that has booked passage aboard my ship. I'm sure her friends wouldn't be happy to discover her missing. If I am to obtain the money then she has to remain with me." Han replied.
"Put away your blasters boys. Han I'm only doing this because your the best and I need you. So for an extra 20% I'll give you a little extra time. But if you fail me again I'll put a bounty so high on your head that you'll never be able to go near civilization again." Jabba replied. "Oh and Catherine, don't let me catch you on this planet again."
Soon Luke and the others joined the group in the docking bay. "What a peice of junk." He muttered upon seeing the ship.
"Hay she'll make mark five past hyperspeed. She may not look like much but she's got it where it counts. I've made a few modifications to her myself." Han replied defending the falcon.
Just as we were about to take off storm troopers came rushing towards us blasters shooting. Han an Luke got into a little bit of an argument but eventually we made it past the blockade.
Meanwhile on the battle station known as the Death Star Princess Leia was being brought to the bridge. "Governor Tarkin. I should have expected you to be holding Vader's leash. I recognized your foul stench the moment I was brought on board."
Tarkin only smiled as this statement "charming to the last." He replied caressing her cheek. "You don't know how hard it was signing the order to terminate your life."
"I'm surprised you had the courage to take on the responsibility yourself." Leia replied defiantly.
"Princess Leia, before your execution I'd like for you to be my guest at a ceremony that will make this battle station operational. No star system will dare to oppose the Emperor now." He replied full of pride.
"The more you tighten your grip Train the more star systems will slip through your fingers." Leia replied sweetly.
"Not after we demonstrate the full power of the battle station!" Tarkin replied angrily. "In a way you have determined the choice of the planet that will be destroyed first. Since you are reluctant to provide us with the location of the rebel base I have chosen to test the destructive power on your home planet of Alderan."
"No. We are a peaceful planet. We have no weapons. You can't possibly..." Leia was about to say something else but Tarkin cut her off.
"You want to provide a different target a military target then name the system! I grow tired of asking this so it will be the last time!" Tarkin said causing Leia to backup completely agenst Darth Vader.
"Danntooine. They are on Dantooine." Leia replied quietly.
Tarkin smiled triumphantly "you see Lord Vader she can be reasoned with." Then turning toward Motti he ordered "you may fire when ready."
"WHAT?" Leia replied shocked.
Tarkin turned to her and replied "your far too trusting. Dantooine is far to remote a planet to make an effective example out of but don't worry we will deal with your rebel friends soon enough." With that they turned back towards the screen and watched as the Death Star fired.
"No." Leia replied trying to wiggle her way out of Vader's grasp but he held her tightly as they fired upon Alderan.
Meanwhile back on the Falcon Luke was practicing with the light saber and I found myself wishing that I too could train in the ways of the force. Suddenly Ben became faint and I also became lightheaded momentarily.
"Ben, Catherine are you guys alright?"
"I felt a great disturbance in the force. It was as if a thousand voices cried out in pain and terror then were suddenly silence. I fear something terrible had happened. You had better get on with your exercises." Ben replied. Then turning his attention towards me he asked "you felt something too didn't you? That's why you felt faint isn't it?"
"Im not sure."
"Has anything like this happened to you before?"
"No. However, I did have a run in with a rancor and was somehow able to avoid it eating me by very calmly telling it to go back to where it came from." I replied.
"Humm." Ben replied looking at me in a strange way.
"Well you can forget your troubles I've successfully avoided those imperil star cruisers." When no one replied he seemed offended "well don't all thank me at once. Anyhow we should reach the Alderean system in about two hundred hours." Han told us.
Meanwhile over in the corner Chewie and R2 were playing a game of Dejarik a form of holographic chess. R2 made a move and Chewie howled clearly upset. "He made a legal move there's no reason to get upset about it." 3PO told Chewie.
"Let him have it." Han warned. "It's not wise to upset a Wookie."
"But sir no one every worries about upsetting a droid." 3PO replied.
"That's because a droid doesn't pull your arm out of your sockets when you loose. Wookies are know to do that." Han replied.
"I see your point sir. I suggest a new strategie R2, let the Wookie win." 3Po replied and I smiled.
Meanwhile Ben was telling Luke more about the force. "Remember a Jedi can feel the force flowing through him?" Luke asked as he practiced some more.
"Partially but it also obeys your commands." Ben replied.
Han and I watched as Luke tried to block the droid but was unable too and wound up being hit in the leg. Han burst into laughter.
"Hokey religions and ancient weapons are no match for a good blaster at your side kid."
"You don't believe in the force do you?" Luke replied.
"Kid I've flown from one side of the galacy to the other I've seen a lot of strange things but nothing to prove that some strange force controls everything. There's no mysitical force that controls my destiny." Han replied causing Ben to smile.
