Janice and Richard Leeson raised me until I was three. I was there little princess and I could do no wrong. When officers scared me or made rude comments about me or accidentally made me cry Richard became furious instantly as did Janice.

However, that all changed one fateful night. Janice started feeling tired a lot and seemed hungry all the time. Her size changed as well. She went from slim to very heavy within a few months. For the past four months Janice had been having flu like symptoms on and off. One day Janice felt extremely dizzy for no apparent reason at all and collapsed onto a chair. "Mommy are you ok?"

"Do I look fine? Why do you always ask such stupid questions? Just do me a favor and leave me alone you little brat." Janice replied snapping at Cathrine.

Tears filled My eyes "I'm sorry mommy. I didn't mean to bother you." With that I turned and ran from the room and Richard looked at Janice concerned.

"What's wrong with Catherine? Why was she crying?"

"Honesty how do you expect me to get any rest with her bothering me? I told her to leave me alone and to stop asking me stupid questions." Janice replied with a frown.

"Honey what's bothering you? It's not like you to talk to Catherine like that. You must have really hurt her feelings she's in tears." Richard replied.

"Oh No. What have I done? How could I hurt my little princess's 👸🏻 feelings? I don't know what came over me. I haven't been myself the past few days." Janice replied. "I've got to go talk to her. I've got to apologize." Janice replied getting up from the chair only to fall back downwards dizzily.

"Ok that's it. It's time to take you to the medical facility and get you checked out. Something is very wrong." Richard said as he helped Janice to her feet.

"I'm fine really." Janice replied but Richard shook his head.

"No Honey your not. We've been denying the truth for sometime now. You haven't been yourself in months and I'm not the only one who has noticed. People are really starting to be concerned about it. It's time we go to the infirmary and get this solved now. I don't want to hear any arguemebts from you either we are going end of story. If I have to drag you there myself. Please don't force me to pull rank on you and give you a direct order because if I have too I will." Richard warned.

Janice sighed "ok, you win I'll go to the infirmary but I'm telling you I'm fine. It's nothing."

"We will let the medical droids decide that." Richard replied.

Upon arrival at the medial wing of the ship the medical droids wasted no time in checking Janice into their hospital wing to preform some tests. "Your wife is fine." The medical Droid replied after giving her a full check up.

"What do you mean she's fine? She's complaining constantly of headaches, back aches, swollen ankles, she's constantly having to go to the bathroom, she seems exhausted even if she's had a good night sleep, she's been having dizzy spells, unusual appetite, she's hardly able hold food down, she has hot and cold flashes she has very bad mood swings. She's too young to be going through oh what's it called?" Richard muttered angrily.

"Menopause?" The medical droid replied.

"Yeah that. She's too young to be going through that. So do you care to explain to me how she is fine?" Richard demanded of the Droid.

"The symptoms you have described are consistent with pregnancy." The medical droid replied.

"Pregnancy? That's impossible my wife can't have children." Richard asked confused.

"I don't know what to tell you except that your wife if perfectly healthy. She is four months along and will be giving birth to a baby girl." The medical droid replied. At this news Richard fainted from shock.

"Is daddy going to be ok?" I asked when I saw Mr. Leeson faint.

"Your dad will be fine." The medical droid replied. "He's just fainted from the news that you are going to have a sibling." The droid replied.

"A sibling? What's a sibling what does that mean?" I asked confused.

"I think that's something your mom or dad should explain to you? Would you like to go see your mom?" The medical droid asked and I nodded.

"Mommy!" I yelled happily jumping into her lap.

"Umph." Janice groaned as I jumped into her lap.

"Catherine get down this instant! Do you realize what you could have done? Don't ever jump in my lap like that again!" Janice growled shoving me to the ground.

"You don't need to be concerned about that Ma'am your daughter can sit in your lap it won't hurt the baby." The medical droid replied.

I wiped the tears from my eyes and looked up at Janice confused. "A Baby? Are you getting a dolly mommy?"

Janice sighed frustratedly "your stupid questions are going to give me a headache.
No I'm not getting a doll. I'm going to have a baby. I'm going to be a mommy a real mommy."

"But your my mommy." I replied with a slight pout.

"Your not my daughter." Janice replied coldly.

"Mommy?" I asked confused.

"I am not nor have I ever been your mother. Your a child that no one wanted not even me. I only put up with you for the sake of my husband. He really wanted children and since I couldn't have any we settled for you. But now that I'm going to be a real mommy We don't need you. In fact, I think I'll see too it that you are sent back to where you belong. A place that's designed especially for the likes of you. An unloved, unwanted child. Now go away and leave me alone you little brat! I need my rest!" Janice replied angrily.

Tears started to form in my eyes and so I rubbed them with my hands and sniffled not wanting to cry. "Oh my head." Richard moaned as the droid helped him up from the floor. "Catherine, Sweetheart are you alright?" I nodded. "Is something bothering you?"
I didn't reply instead i just whimpered as tears formed in my eye threatening to fall once more. "Shhhh it's ok. Everything is going to be alright. What's bothering you Sweetheart? Are you worried about mommy?"Richard asked and I nodded. "It's ok. Mommy's alright you don't need to be upset. Come here and give me a hug. Now, shall we go see mommy?" Richard asked and I shook my head no.

"Mommy doesn't want to see me." I replied with a sniffle.

"I'm sure that's not true. Mommy's just a little tired right now." Richard replied.

"She told me to go away and never come back." I replied as tears threatened to form in my eyes once more.

"She said what?" Richard asked running his fingers through his hair in shock.

"She said She's not my Mommy and she doesn't love me anymore. She said that she doesn't need me around now that she's going to be a real mommy." I replied with a whimper the tears now streaming down my face.

"I'm sure that's not true. Mommy's hormones are all out of wack."

"Because of the baby?" I asked with a sniffle.

"Yes. Mommy can't control her emotions right now. She's going to say and do things that she doesn't really mean and when she realizes that she hurt you she will be very upset with herself. I want you to know that just because we are having another baby doesn't mean that mommy and I don't love you. We will always love you nothing will ever change that."

"Promise?"

"I promise. Princess I need you to do me a really big favor. Can you go wait outside the infirmary while I have a talk with mommy?" Richard asked me and i nodded.

"Honey we need to talk." Richard said as he entered the exzam room that Janice's was currently occupying.

"What is it dear?" Janice asked with a really big yawn.

"Catherine's really upset." Richard replied.

"Oh what's the little brats problem now?" Janice asked with a hint of irritation in her voice.

"Why did you tell Catherine that now that we are going to have a baby we no longer want or love her?" Richard asked and Janice shrugged her shoulders indignantly.

"Because it's the truth." Janice replied. "She's not a part of our family she never has been and she never will be!"

"How can you say that? Your the one who insisted that we would never follow Commander Arthur's orders to have Catherine executed. Your the one who chose to protect her and raise her as our daughter despite the consequences."

"And now I'm saying that I want her gone! I don't need her any more." Janice replied with a frown.

"Janice how can you say that? How do you expect me to explain this to her and to our co-workers?" Richard replied.

"I don't care. You'll think of something. I won't have that little brat growing up along size my child. I don't care what I said before she's not my daughter and I don't love her. I want the little brat gone before our daughter is born. I want nothing to do with her anymore. She's a burden that I no longer wish to be settled with. I don't care what strings you have to pull but I want her out of our house now!" She told Richard on the way home from he medical center.

"That's not going to happen Janice. I warned you years ago that if we chose to raise Catherine as our daughter there would be no going back. You knew the cost of choosing to keep her and you chose to accept it. Do you realize the amount of trouble I could find myself in should this get back to my supervisors? I shudder to think what would happen if this information were to get back to Lord Vader. It was by his suggestion that I rescued Catherine from death. If Lord Vader finds out that I have now turned my back on the child I'm as good as dead. Is that what you want? For our daughter to be raised without a father because that's what's going to happen should Lord Vader discover the truth concerning Catherine. Like it or not Catherine is a member of this family. We made that commitment long ago and there is no going back." Richard replied.

"Fine we will keep the little brat but she will not be treated as our daughter. From now on all that I will see when I look at her is a burden that I am forced to put up. She's the daughter of rebel scum and it'd high time she learns where people like her belong. From now on she will be nothing more then a servant in our household." Janice replied. Richard started to reply but Janice cut him short. "I do not wish to discuss this subject any longer Richard. Catherine is no longer our daughter and that's all there is too it."

Richard sighed "yes dear." The truth was that despite his orders to not get close to her he found that he had grown to love her as if she was his own. How was he going to explain this to me? He had promised that nothing was going to change that they'd always love me and now he was going to break that promise. More importantly, how was he going to explain this to his supervisors?
