Catherine's first test to prove her devotion is punish Jackie leeson

As they walked through the halls of the base Catherine noticed several worried looks on employee's faces. Along with whispers of confusion. Who was this strange girl walking next to Lord Ren? Were the rumors true? Was she really Darth Vader's daughter? If she was then like Kylo, she wasn't to be messed with. She heard one employee whisper. She smiled at them momentarily and gave the employees a quick friendly wave hello as she passed by. That is until Kylo noticed that she wasn't keeping up with him.

Frowning he stopped and turned towards Catherine who was saying hello to a storm
trooper who was passing by. "Catherine quit dawdling we have things to do. I will not keep stopping every few minutes to wait for you to catch up with me. Time is precious and right now you are wasting mine. I don't like my time wasted."

One of the officers nearby snickered at this comment. "If you ask me Lord Ren doesn't seem to like anything at all." He whispered to the associate beside him.

Kylo froze in place if it was one thing that he hated it was being mocked. He whirled around and within seconds he was face to face with the associate who had snickered at him. "You mind sharing with me what was so funny?" He demanded of the officer who coward in his chair.

"I'm so sorry, Lord Ren, I didn't mean to... To..." Before the officer could finish his sentence he found himself in a choke hold.

"Apology accepted officer." Kylo replied as the officer fell to the floor dead. "Anyone else care to voice their opinions of me?" Kylo demanded and everyone shook their heads no. "Good! Then get back to work!"

"Why did you????"

"It is not wise my apprentice to show any form of compassion on this base toward these lower class associates. If you do they will walk all over you and you won't be respected or feared." He scolded her.

"I understand." Catherine replied. Instantly putting on a somber look that showed little to no emotion. "Where are we going?"

"I already told you where we are going. Don't ask stupid questions. They are a waste of time and you know I don't like my time wasted.

"Might I see Boba before we go? I haven't seen him since he fell into the Sarlacc pit nearly 30 years ago."

"I already told you that you may not see him until we you show me that you are dedicated to your training. By punishing Janice and Richard's daughter for her and her parents treatment of you. To clarify incase I have not made my instructions clear Janice Richards daughter is to die. How she dies of no concern to me but she is to die. I do not like repeating myself. Do not ask to see Boba again until you have completed your assigned task or their will be consequences." Kylo warned.

"As you wish." Catherine replied quietly lowering her gaze.

"We have arrived at our destination. Wait here. Master Ren what brings you here?" The head of the department asked worriedly.

"I need to speak with Jackie and Charity Leeson." Kylo replied.

"Yes sir. I'll have her report to you immediately." The offer replied and then he rushed off to locate Jackie.

"Lord Ren you wanted to see me?" Charity asked trembling as she stood before him.

"Yes. This is a new member of the First Order and She will inform you of why your presence was requested here." Kylo replied. With that he motioned for Catherine to approach.

Jackie looked at Catherine momentarily then she replied "welcome to the First Order what can I do for you ummm? Ma'am?" Charity asked as Catherine stepped forward.

Catherine frowned how could Jackie not recognize her. "My name is of no importance to you."

"I'm sorry, my memory isn't wait it use to be. Is it possible that we have met before Ma'am? I swear I recognize that voice from somewhere."

"Perhaps I remind you of an acquaintance of mine. Her name is Catherine she lived with Janice and Richard Leeson. Do you know them?" Catherine asked pretending not to know Jackie.

"Yes. They are my parents. As for Catherine she was our servant she was sent to prison for being disobedient." Charity replied.

"Yeah see that's not exactly true. When Catherine was a young child she was found with a group of rebel spies. Normally all rebels are to be executed but due to her age they were hesitant to carry out those requirements. Richard offered to take her home until they could decided what was to become of her. You see, they had never had a child rebel before and there was no procedures in how to handle them. Not wanting her to be thrown into a cold jail cell he brought her home to his wife Janice who had been told that she couldn't bear children. Janice fell in love with her instantly. She and Richard talked it over and decided that instead of following procedure and have her send to the camp for Rebel children that they'd adopt Catherine and raise her as their daughter. They loved her more then anything in the world that is until you came along. Then Janice started to despise Catherine for no reason at all. She decided that she no longer needed Catherine and that she no longer wished to have anything to do with her. In fact, she wanted Catherine sent to the camp for rebel children where as far as she was
concerned Catherine should have been all along. However, Richard reminded her that they couldn't just get rid of Catherine because it would raise to many questions and so Janice decided to turn her into the house hold servant." I replied bitterly.

"Catherine is that you? It is isn't it?" Catherine sighed and then nodded.

"I knew it! I knew it was you the moment you started talking about how you went from daughter to servant. It's been so long since we've seen each other we've got a lot of catching up to do. So, as you can see I've been doing well for myself working my way up through the empire in now working for the most powerful force in the galaxy. I have a beautiful daughter who has one of the highest ranking jobs in the first order and she is engaged to the second-in-command of the star killer base. Do tell me what you've been up to these past 35 years."

"My personal life really isn't any of your concern. I'm not here to chat about the past Janice.! I am here however, to see if you have any feelings of remorse for what you and your family did to me. Your parents ruined my life and I'm here to determine if I am going to do the same too you." Catherine replied with a frown.

"How dare you! What makes you think that you could masquerade as an Officer of the first order with out consequences? I should have you arrested and sent to a detention cell and beaten like my father ordered to be done to you all those years ago."

"I was never sent to the detention center."

"Oh? Then where have you been all this time?" Charity demanded.

"The officer who had been ordered to escort me to the detention cell knew the officer in charge and decided that it was just too cruel to place me in his care. He despised children and had no time to deal with the likes of me. So instead he took me to Tattooine and sold me as a slave to a local drunken bounty hunter." Catherine

"How dare that officer disobey direct orders from my father. I can't believe he had the nerve to sell you as a slave. No wonder my father couldn't find you after he sent you to the detention center."

"Why would he be looking for me? He sent me to the detention center to be beaten daily for the rest of my life." Catherine replied bitterly.

"After I found out what had happened I begged my father to reconsider. Although it was true that you were ungrateful and you forgot your place you didn't deserve to be banished from the house for life. You were my favorite companion. I knew I'd miss you."

"You mean you'd miss tormenting me." Catherine replied with a frown.

"All right I admit it I liked making your life miserable but which would be worse being my servant or being beaten daily from an inch of your life? I was devastated when father told me that something had gone wrong and that you had never arrived at your destination. I cried for weeks. I wanted the officer responsible punished. In fact, I made sure he was stripped of his title and sent to a detention cell and interrogated until he told us what he had done to you. I was mortified when he finally admitted that he had sold you as a slave. I begged daddy to send men to find you but it was too late. I prayed that you would never wound up as a slave to that horrible crime slug what was his name again? Jabba the Hutt. I hear he actually chains slaves to his throne. I shudder to think what it would be like to be his slave." I frowned and Jackie's jaw dropped "Oh no. Tell me it's not true tell me that you weren't chained to that horrible Hutt's throne. Oh Catherine, I'm so sorry for you. I told daddy that he needed to spend more time looking for you but he would hear it. Well I hope you have a better Master now. You are still a Slave aren't you? So tell Me, who is your Master now a days?" Before Jackie could ask another question she started to choke.

"Don't try and patronize me. Your father knew exactly what had become of me. I can read your mind I know that your lying. You never cared about what happened to me and your actually delighted that I became a slave. The truth is that you feel that was exactly what I deserved." Catherine replied.

After a few moments Catherine noticed that Jackie was starting to become unconscious and so she released her from her death grip and walked away. "Don't ever lie to me again. Or you won't live to see your grand children grow into adults." Catherine warned her with that Catherine turned and walked away leaving a very dazed Jackie.

Kylo replied then turned to Jackie"we are far from done here. Your disrespect towards this young woman is unacceptable. It is unbecoming an officer of the First Order. You shall pay for your insolence." Kylo replied. Then he used the force to block the door from being able to open. "Catherine come here."

"What is it?"

"Explain your actions."

"I was feeling merciful but make no mistake of she ever talks that way to me again it will the last thing she ever does." Catherine replied. Now, may we go see my adopted father now?"

"Not quite yet. This woman still needs to pay for her insolence." Kylo replied.

"While I admit that she was cruel to me and she has no remorse for her actions and she flat out lied to me but I don't feel that killing her is the right thing to do." Catherine replied.

"By being lenient you are showing that you are weak. No one is going to respect and fear you if you if all you ever do is show mercy. You need to let of this notion of right and wrong. There' is no right or wrong way when it comes to give Darkside of the force. There are no rules that you must follow no restrictions to how you use your power. You do as you deem fit. If someone like this miserable wretch dares defy you or mock you then you end their miserable life. Now one way or another someone is going to die today. The choice is yours, will you prove your devotion to my training and make this witch pay for what she's done or will Boba Fett pay the consequences? If she does not die by your hand within the next hour I will have Boba Fett arrested and executed. The choice is yours."

"Life is precious to me. I find it exceptionally cruel to end someone's life for something so petty as laughing at one's misfortunes." Catherine replied causing Kylo to growl at her.

"You dare question my orders?"

"No. I just think killing her is letting her off to easy." Catherine replied.

"Go on I'm listening." Kylo replied intrigued as to what Catherine would consider a fitting punishment.

"She seems delighted by the notion that instead of being sent to a prison camp I become a slave." Catherine replied.

"What are you suggesting? That she be given the same treatment? Im not sure that's the best course of action given her age." Kylo replied.

"I agree."

"Then what?"

"She seems overly proud of her daughter's achievements. I say we strip her daughter of her position in the first order and turn her daughter into the very thing that she finds laughable about my suffering."

"So, your suggestions is that we punish her daughter Charity for Jackie and her parents crimes against you?" Kylo chuckled slightly "I'll make a Sith out of you yet. Get it done."

"As you wish." Catherine replied and then she called Jackie over. "Your remorselessness will come at a high price. As I said I was sent here to determine how I would punish you for both your parents and your crimes agenst me. Since you seem so proud of your daughter's achievements the punishment is this, your daughter shall be stripped of her title in the first order and sold as a slave to the highest bidder."

"You can't!"

"Actually Jackie I can. You see while your daughter might be engaged to a high ranking officer my Master runs this station."

"So you are a slave." Jackie said with a smile.

"He's not that kind of Master. He is a master of the force and he is training me to use my abilities to help the First Order achieve their goals."

"What abilities? The force? You have no connection to the force. If there even is such a thing. The force is an ancient religion it hasn't helped Kylo Ren discover the Reistance base or the clairvoyance to locate Skywalk..." Instantly Jackie began to choke.

"I find your lack of faith disturbing." Catherine replied putting Jackie in a choke hold. "I'd keep those opinions to yourself if I were you. If My Master were to hear you he wouldn't be as forgiving as I am." With that Catherine let Jackie out of the choke hold. "Your daughter will be sold to the highest bidder and that's all there is too it."

"No. Please Catherine, please don't punish my daughter. She has done nothing to deserve that form of punishment. Please don't take her freedom away from her. She's worked to hard to get to where she is to have it stolen from her on account of our rivalry. Please Catherine do what you want to me. strip me of my title, imprison me, beat me, make me your personal slave, execute me, but please don't punish my daughter." Jackie begged falling to her knees before Catherine.

It was this that made Catherine realize that Charity had really changed. Yet she knew what Kylo required of her. "I shall discuss this with my Master. Perhaps given your sincerity of your apology and your desire to make it right my Master might let me choose a different course of action. The truth is, I don't want to punish your daughter for our issues and I don't want to kill you. However, my Master has ordered me to either kill you or make you suffer dearly for what your family put me through. I must do this within the next hour or someone I love dearly will die." Catherine replied sadly. "I'm sorry Jackie but there is no other way. Your daughter shall be arrested and placed into custody until such a time that we can reach a system that still has slavey. You there, General Rexington arrest Mrs. Leeson's daughter immediately and place her in a secure facility."

"I'm sorry ma'am but I'm afraid I can't do that."

"Excuse me? Did you just refuse to follow a direct order? I am Kylo Ren's apprentice I outrank everyone in this room." With that Catherine glared at the officer who started to choke as if a pair of invisible bands were wrapped around his throat strangling him.

"I'm sorry ma'am I didn't know. I promise I won't let it happen again." General Rexington replied as he gasped for breath.

"Apology accepted General. I expect that from now on when I give you an order no further delays shall occur."

"Yes ma'am!" The General saluted.

"What are you waiting for an invitation? Go
Carry out my orders!" Catherine replied irritatedly.

"Ma'am we seem to have come across a slight issue concerning your orders." The officer replied with a wince.

"What issue?" Catherine replied with a frown.

"We cannot carry out your order to arrest Jackie's daughter."

"Why is that?" Catherine demanded pulling the officer into her awaiting hand.

"She's General Hux's fiancée he's ordered that despite her actions or failures she is not to be punished and neither is her mother. They are under his direct protection and any act against them is an act against him. I'm sorry ma'am."

The General soon found himself in a choke hold once more however this time Catherine didn't release it. As the General slumped to the floor Catherine replied "apology accepted General."

Catherine sighed with contentment as the officers all began to tremble with fear eager to complete their work. "What happened here?" Kylo asked when he spotted the dead officer sprawled out on the floor.

"He dared to question my orders. He paid the ultimate price for his mistake." Catherine replied with a shrug of her shoulders.

"Well done my apprentice. What of Mrs. Leeson?"

"Unfortunately I came across a slight bump when it comes to punishing Jackie."

"What is that my apprentice?"

"Jackie's daughter is General Hux's fiancé. They are both under his protection. Evidently they have been made above reproach. No course of action can be brought against them despite anything they might do. Due to their social status with the good General." Catherine replied.

Kylo chuckled "how delightful. This just became a lot more entertaining a task. Let's see how you deal with conflict. The original deal still stands either they are punished or Boba dies.!"
