Chapter 13 - More things you don't know yet

What is this feeling? Why is this so beutiful and makes me serene? Being like this in his arms... My heart is beating so gently, like the way he kissed my lips. I can hear his soft breathing, so close to my ear...

Earlier that day:

Almost one month passed with Petra still here. That fateful day when she realized possibility of Annie being Levi's sister craved in her memory so much that she struggled to resist and ask Levi about it. Luckily, when she went silent after Eren's question, she acted good and didn't gave out anything. Despite others noticing something, she shrugged them off and they believed her.

Another full moon is rising at the time, but no one is tense like they used to be. Maybe a month ago when they were spared the whole picking session, they became relieved in some way.

Currently making breakfast, Petra didn't feel someone's presence in the room. Naturally, she cut down two carrots and three potatoes next. When vegetables was put in a pot full of water, she covered it. The only thing left was just standing there and watching over the pot.

Someone coughted behind her and she almost jumped. Fully looking at direction a sound came from, she saw him. Standing on the doorway was no one other than Levi. He was leaning on the wall next to the door, hands in his pockets, eyes locked on her, but not in a praying manner. Just normal look.

"Hey, Levi," said Petra and smiled awkwardly.

"Hey..." he responded. The air in the kitchen became somehow heavy and tense, not giving relief to either of them.

"What are you doing here?" she asked.

"Am I not allowed to see how my servants are working?"

"Hmm. You have a point," Petra said.

Levi walked up to her, but left her enought space to not make her uncomfortable in any way.

"Do you need help?"

Petra glanced at dark-haired vampire, surprised at how polite he sounded.

"No, thanks. I've already finished, I just need to wait for meat and vegetables to cook."

"I see," he said and leaned on the counter at some distance away from her. Thankful her bangs were hiding most of her face, Petra could freely stare at the wooden surface of the counter. Lifting her palm to her chest, as tried to calm her fastened heartbeat, Petra begun to wonder about her feelings.

Levi... what he was to her? Her heart never beat like when he appears and does his sedictive actions and words. Seductive... He said he's never done something like that to anyone before. Can she believe him? Maybe it was the thing that made her confused and worried the most. Could she believe him? She wanted, maybe more than she realized, to trust him with all her mind and heart. Was that the reason she let him? Because she wanted to trust him? Then... was Annie right when she saw she likes him from the beggining? How could it be possible for a person not realizing own feelings? When she tried to recall it, she couldn't tell anymore. Did she feel attached to him after their first talk - the morning after he rescued her?

Petra's eyelids fluttered open and she skimmed her surdoundings with still blurry eyes. When her sight was completly clear, she looked left and right, seeing herself in a richly decorated bedroom. She blinked and recalled events from the previous night. Her trip, thief, man... vampire!

She shot up in sitting position and cluched her blanket tightly. It was silky, smooth material, but Petra didn't have the time to appreciate delicate work someone's hands have been doing for two months for sure.

"Your're awake."

The voice that was too familiar caused ginger-haired girl to pull covers closer to her and look at the man, the vampire that saved her from the one who would surely kill her or do something even worse. When her eyes met his, she remembered his offer, no - request for her redemtion. But... she should thank him if nothing. If he wasn't there, she would be dead by now.

"... Thank you... for saving me..."

The stranger started approaching the bed and Petra didn't dare to blink. She had her fist ready under the covers, just in case. Despite seeing him breaking grown man't both hands, she should know she doesn't have a chance against him.

As if he noticed her discomfort, he sat on the edge of a bed and spoke. "Don't be afraid, I won't do anything."

His tone and face were so different from previous night. It was like another person was talking with her now.

"So... you're... a vampire?" Petra asked.

"I am," he answered emotionlessly.

"Why are you... different from... yesterday?"

"What you saw, please don't be startled because of it. Every vampire is like that when they crave for blood in the time of a full moon. I know it would be hard for you to believe me after what you witnessed, after all, you started running away from me," the vampire answered, somehow sadly saying the last sentence.

Petra kept her mouth shut for a minute and looked at her palms which she rested in her lap.

"I... was scared when I saw that side of you. If I... am wrong with being afraid of you... then... you have to prove me... I'm wrong..." she said, shocked by her own words. They just slipped from her lips just like that.

The vampire stared at her with eyes wide. It lasted only for a few seconds before he came back to his usual self. He sat up and extended his hand towards her.

"My name is Levi. You're safe here. Petra."

Petra stared at his hand then back at him. Relictantly, she extended her own towards his. After a few seconds of hesistation, she took it and got on her feet.

"Your clothes are on the chair. Dress and I'll wait outside."

Just then Petra remembered to look what she was wearing. Instead of her clothes, she wore a white sleeping drees, blue threads making various shapes on it. Sudden realization hit her and she let go of Levi's hand and pulled her own to her, face heated up.

"Did you-"

"I asked you to be my servant here. You're not the only one."

"...Alright..."

After that, Levi exited the room to give the girl privacy. Petra glanced at chair. Clothes were neatly folded on it. Slipping off the white sleeping-dress, she placed it on the bed and changed in her own clothes. Just as he told, Levi was waiting for her with arms crossed leaned on the opposite wall.

"Ready?"

Petra nodded and followed his steps. After some walk, neither of them speaking a word, he knocked on some door and opened them. The noice of a chatter that could be heard faded in instant. Petra peeked from behind him and was met with a group of young people dressed casually, sitting on the long table, plates before each. By the look of a room, Petra guessed it was a dinning hall.

Levi steeped aside and Petra flinched. He gave her a look that told her to enter and she did, with slow steps though. All eyes were on her and it made her slightly uncomfortable.

"This is Petra," Levi spoke. "She's the new here, so show her the place," he added and closed the door soon after. Petra stared at the door, shocked. She averted her gaze and met the other people in the room. Bowing in a greeting manner, the sides of her skirt slightly lifted up by her hands, she spoke.

"My name is Petra Ral. Nice to meet you," she said and straightened herself. The group was amazed. It was the beggining of a strong friendship.

Levi was eyeing her intensively. He thought the distance between then would be well enough for comfort, but he was wrong. He wasn't calm at all. From the moment he woke up, every instinct in his body told him to search for Petra. He was so eager to have her in his arms already, just to hold her. He was so eager to kiss her, so, so eager.

No matter how much his will was strong, he learned that his urges become stronger with the amount of time of her being in this place. The first time he... it was the lack of judgement, when he didn't realize the situation he was in. But now... it's more and more difficult. That's why he was afraid what'll happen if she spends another night of a full moon here. Maybe all of it was the reason he tried to deceive himself of not knowing her answer and asking her why did she give in.

Despite open windows, it was really hot in there. Petra had enough of worring about Levi's presence so she reached for her hairpin in the pocket of her skirt and tied her hair in ponytail.

As Petra did it, more of her skin was revealed for vampire's eyes. At the sigh of her beautiful hair up with stray strands tickling her perfect, delicate neck, Levi's breath unconsciously hitched. He felt it. If he hesistates even one second, he'll go crazy.

Calm down, calm down, calm down- he repeated over and over in his head, but all in vain in the end.

With quickened steps he almost flew over a distance that was separating them and cupped her face, turning her around. As she felt cold fingers slipping in her hair, Petra pushed his chest away.

"Shhhhhh..."

That sound coming of his lips made Petra shiver. Hands still on his chest, she stared at his red eyes. He reached behind and pulled the hairpin from her hair and placed it on the counter. He started running his fingers through her soft, orange locks slowly, making the girl's heart beat wildly. Closing her eyes, she let him do as he pleases. Levi stopped for a moment and put his forehead against hers. Petra half-opened her eyes.

Male's chest tightened seeing her sparkling eyes, making her look sleepy and the crimson over her cheeks. Unable to resist, he pressed his lips against hers.

Petra kept her lips connected, expecting to feel his tongue every second. To her surprise, Levi pulled away and looked at her, placing her hands in each of his. Petra's eyes were fully opened now, confusion clearly seen.

As they continued to stare at eachother like that, both of them felt something weird. Petra never thought this would happen. Leaning in for the first time, she gave Levi a quick kiss, noticing shocked expression on his face while she did so. All she could do was to stare back with rosy cheeks.

Getting a clue of what just happened, Levi embraced her waist and planted another gently kiss on her lips. And another one, and another, and another. Petra put her arms around his neck and kissed him back. Their kisses softened each time they connected their lips, hearts beating like one. He runned his fingers through her soft locks with Petra doing the same with his dark, ebony ones. She skimmed her fingers over his undercut and he moaned.

After a minute of kissing, they paused, catching the air. Panting, Levi carresed her cheek and runned his thumb over her lips. Pulling her tiny body to his, her head rested against his chest. He runned other hand up and down her small back. Petra circled her arms around his tiny waist and closed her eyes. That was when she actually had the time to think of what she's done. In the same time she felt embarrassed, but also happy.

What is this feeling? Why is this so beutiful and makes me serene? Being like this in his arms... My heart is beating so gently, like the way he kissed my lips. I can hear his soft breathing, so close to my ear...

"Levi?"

"Hm?"

"What is this feeling?"

Levi kissed the top of her head.

"I try to understand, I did. As much as I try, I-"

"There's so much things you don't know yet," he answered and kissed her temple.

"You have work to do... right?" Petra suddenly asked and pulled away from him.

Levi carresed her cheek. "Yes."

"Then... you should go..." she said reluctantly.

"I know," he said and kissed her forehead. Giving her one last look, he opened the door and stopped, muttering some words.

"What did you say?" asked Petra.

"... Nothing," he replied and exited.

I just wanted to say I love you.
