Arguments
((here's a second chapter today as another apology :) ))
Everyone in the car jolts forward as Mark slams the brakes, the car halting almost immediately. Thankfully the road wasn't very busy, so all he caused was a car behind him to honk angrily and drive past him.
Mark ignores the other driver and turns around quickly looking at Felix, his eyes had returned to the natural blue, and he seemed normal, as surprised as everyone else in the car.
Mark feels Jack squeeze his hand, pulling his attention to the green haired man, who watched Mark worriedly.
"Mark, what was that, are you alright!?"
Jack questions, his voice quick and clearly fearful for the man. Mark shoots another glance back at Felix before sighing and sitting back in his seat squeezing Jack's hand ever so slightly.
"Yah... I'm fine... I just thought I saw something...."
Mark mutters running his free hand through his red locks, his slight lie seeming to fool Jack for now. Mark sighs and shoots a glance up to the mirror again, Felix seemed to be smirking but when Mark looks back again, his face was just worried, and still slightly surprised from the sudden stop.
Mark sighs and begins driving again, letting go of Jack's hand and focusing fully on the road once again, forcing himself to not look back at Felix.
I'm losing it....
Mark thinks to himself silently, as he continues down the road.
About ten minutes later they arrive at the house with no other incident. They all unload, Ken and Felix grabbing their bags from the back and following Mark and Jack inside.
"Right... so you two will have to share a room, I'm sure you can figure out the sleeping situation..."
Mark mutters, still seeming out of it from the car ordeal. Felix and Ken both nod in agreement, small smiles on both men's faces.
"Jack can you show them to the guest room.... I think I need to lay down..."
Mark adds after a long silence, rubbing his temples slightly. Jack looks at him worried but nods and leads the men away, making small conversation as they walked.
As they go to find the room Mark walks to his own room, which he now shared with Jack, and sits on the bed, running a hand through his dyed hair and taking in a couple breaths.
Why was he seeing things now? It had never happened before since the whole incident, but he swore looking at Felix, that his eyes shifted to the green, the green Mark had known so well, the green of Anti. Of course that wasn't possible though, they were gone, they were gone.... Right?
Mark's thoughts are interrupted as Jack enters, quietly closing the door behind him and sitting on the bed next to the man, reaching his hand over and placing it on top of Mark's.
"Hey, you okay?"
Jack questions quietly his blue eyes scanning the man's face for clues to what he was thinking.
"I'm fine.... Don't worry about it."
Mark lies, forcing a smile onto his face as he lifts his head looking over at the Irish Man. Jack narrows his eyes, not buying it.
"Don't lie to me Mark... What's wrong?"
Jack inquired interlacing his fingers with Mark's and giving his hand a gentle squeeze, silently begging him to be truthful, at least this once.
"It's just... I thought I saw something with Felix..."
Mark finally admits after a fairly long silence, his brown eyes going away from the man and down to their intertwined hands.
"Saw what?"
Jack urges him to go on, curiosity and worry lacing his voice.
"It's nothing.... But I thought I saw his eyes go from blue to..... To green.... It's just my mind playing tricks on me."
Mark finishes quietly, not wanting to worry the man. Though what Mark said may not have made sense to anyone else, to Jack it was clear. He thought he saw Anti in Felix.
Jack squeezes his hand again, though it didn't seem to be to comfort Mark this time, instead to reassure him that it was over.
"That's not possible.... They're gone..."
Jack mumbles, though he didn't sound too sure himself. Mark nods and forces a small smile to his lips, trying to be comforting in any way he could.
"They are gone... Trust me I'm just tired...."
And probably losing my mind...
Mark adds in his head, though he wouldn't say that, not wanting to worry Jack more than he was already. Jack watches him for a few more seconds, his ocean blue eyes scanning his face one more time before he sighs and stands up, still holding Mark's hand. He gently pulls the red haired man up and smiles at him slightly.
"Mark, I won't ask anymore... but I'm always here to talk, alright?"
Jack mutters quietly, love clear in his voice towards him. Mark smiles and leans forward, giving Jack a slight peck on his lips before pulling away.
"Thank you, Sean."
Soon yelling can be heard down the hall, a couple doors down, from the guest room interrupting Mark and Jack. The voices were clear, the deep voice of Ken, and the slightly accented voice of Felix.
Jack and Mark glance at each other, slightly confused before rushing to the room, before entering they listen to the loud conversation going on just on the other side of the door.
"What the hell do you mean wait! We should just do it now!"
Ken yells, his voice dripping with anger, an anger that sent chills down Mark's spine.
"Trust me, I know what I'm doing. But we have to wait longer."
Felix growls back, his voice not really a yell anymore but still enraged.
"Wait!? They ruined our lives, I say we off them and get it over with!"
Ken counters, his voice not losing any of its intensity. Mark narrows his eyes, what were they arguing about? Before Mark can stop him Jack opens the door, seeming to not want to listen to them argue anymore. Both men look up quickly as the door is swung open, their anger being replaced with surprise, and even perhaps a bit of worry.
Felix looks at the two men who enter, but Ken turns his head away, his anger still clear, but seeming to cover his face as much as he could.
"What the hell are you two arguing about?"
Jack asks almost immediately, his eyes scanning both men curiously.
"Oh..... Just a game we started playing.... You know.... Before we got here."
Felix quickly stutters, an innocent smile curling onto his face. Jack continues talking to Felix asking about the game, but Mark doesn't listen, his attention focused on the black haired man, who covered his face, taking in steady breaths, as to calm himself.
Mark walks forward a bit, and places a hand on the man's shoulder. Before Ken can react, Mark turns him around, looking into his eyes out of habit.
Mark looks into his eyes and stumbles back nearly tripping over his own feet, his own eyes widening, and his face draining of all color.
Ken's eyes were a deep crimson red, filled with anger still. Eyes Mark could never forget, the eyes of Dark.
Soon his eyes fade, going from the familiar red, to Ken's natural light brown. It happened quickly, but not quick enough that Mark didn't notice the transition. He continues staring at the man, who had turned away again.
Mark jumps at a hand on his shoulder which instantly draws back at feeling the man jump in fear. Mark looks over, his breathing was heavy, as though he was on the verge of a panic attack. His eyes meet the ocean blue eyes of Sean. The Irish man's lips move, but Mark doesn't hear any words, his vision blurring slightly, going in and out of focus.
Mark opens his mouth to speak, to say something, but no words escape him, as everything goes black.
