Mika's POV

There was a red light in the sky and a very malicious and bloodthirsty aura coming from a hot air balloon. I motioned to Kurapika and was about to tell him what was going on but his phone rung.

"They're heading to Gordo Desert." Basho says.

"Gordo Desert, got it! We'll be there soon." Kurapika tells the phone and I watch as Squala looks outside the window.

"There it is." Squala says. "Just floating over the city while we're scrambling around here trying to figure out what happened."

"They want us to follow us." I tell them and they look over to me. "Why else would they make it so obvious." I couldn't help but have a bad feeling.

Time skip~

Once we reached the site we saw that the hot air balloon crashed on some rocks and it was obvious those guys weren't dead. There were a lot of cars that we're ahead of us as well. We get out of the car.

"Damn! The roads blocked, we're gonna have to get there on foot! It's bad down there we'd better hurry!' Squala yells and moves forward but Kurapika puts a hand on his shoulder.

"Not yet!" Kurapika yells.

"Why not?" Squala asks looking back.

"Something doesn't look right." He says and I hop onto of a boulder and check out who we were dealing with. There were seven people and each of them looked different than the other. 4 of them were... playing cards on the ground. There were 2 women and 5 men. The 3 from before were there but the other faces I didn't recognize beside... a woman who had pink hair and blue eyes. She was wearing an outfit that was similar to what my normal clothing was like. Her hair was up in a ponytail.

"..." I didn't bother talking to any of them about it. I was sure that if they saw what she looked like and then looked at me, they would think I was a spy of some sort. It wouldn't be wise to tell any of them. I'll just play dumb and pretend I don't notice until they do,

One of the men was wearing fur but he had his chest and arms exposed. He had light brown skin and dark grey hair. He was muscular and was fighting against the rest of the Mafia who were being slaughtered like flies. There was also a younger man that was smiling happy while he was playing cards. The last person was holding a yutaka and a kendo sword with his hair up in a ponytail.

There were shots that were fired in the distance by snipers but they made almost no effect. It made the man flinch and his red aura flashed for a second. I couldn't hear what he was saying but I watched as he threw two rocks and hit the two male snipers.

There was a small man that was holding a bazooka and kneeling on the ground.

"It won't work." I said to myself and the man put his arm in front of him and the smaller man shot it making air burst out from his weapon and a large explosion happen. I looked over to Kurapika and watched as he looked at the battle through his binoculars.

Fire rose from the explosion and the smoke disappeared. His upper clothes were gone and his hand was still out in front of him with a few burn marks on it, but he seemed fine. But I could tell his anger was rising. The Mafia men stared in shock and began to run away beside the one who aimed the bazooka.

"What's that guy made of?" Squala asked as he watched from a large tan camcorder.

"That miniature explosion just now, what was that?" Basho asked.

"He blocked a bazooka shell with his hand." Kurapika said and Melody gasped. "He's a Nen user probably an Enhancer."

"You think so too, huh?" I said and Kurapika nodded and I watched as the man killed the Mafia.

"He's incredibly powerful." Kurapika says and a man lands on a car and breaks the light. "Almost everyone who arrived here ahead of us is already dead. All their firepower has no effect on him."

"You mean that bazooka shell didn't slow him down at all?" Basho says in complete shock.

"Take a look for yourself." Kurapika says and hands over the binoculars to him. "You'll see the enormity of his aura, and the pile of corpses."

"Who is he and where did he come from?" Basho asks and Squala trembles in fear.

"He's tearing those Mafia guys apart with his bare hands." Squala says. "What are we supposed to do against that?! You couldn't pay me enough to go down there."

Basho puts his arms down. "No me neither, we have zero chance of survival."

"Maybe, but I won't go back until I finish the mission I was hired for." Kurapika said calmly and Squala turns around quickly.

"Are you insane?! Under the circumstances I'm sure the boss would understand!" He yells.

"Maybe we should contact Dalzollene." Basho says trying to calm down Squala.

"What and miss out on the show." I say still staring at the man and I jump down and touch the ground. I could feel vibrations under the ground. I look over to Melody as she continues to look around, trying to find something.

"What do you hear something?" Kurapika asks

"A heartbeat." Melody says. "There's an extra heartbeat here and it's getting closer."

Kurapika jumps back and I do as well. We look over and see something moving underground and heading towards us.

The thing that came out of the ground looked like a worm. His skin was red and he was long and thin with a potbelly. He opened his eyes and twisted his body upwards the ground.

"What the hell is this?!" Basho yells.

"Shadow Beasts." Squala says and my Nen change and Hiro comes out silently, touching the man (I suppose so, he's probably Human), gives me a card and floats near me. I look at the card. There wasn't an ability name. But it said Worm. He was a Transmuter and his ability allowed him to travel underground effortlessly.

"Shadow Beasts?" Kurapika asks.

"Yes. The Ten Dons, the leaders of the Mafia community bring in the Shadow Beasts whenever they have something that needs to be done. This is the first time I've ever seen one." Squala whispers.

"What an unconventional rhythm." Melody says. "It's hard to tell if it's even Human."

'Worm' looks over to us and begins to speak. "Tell me, which family do you belong to."

"Well we're bodyguards hired to protect Mr. Nostrade."Squala says. "We're part of the Ritsu family."

"Nostrade, you're working for him?" He says and looks over to Kurapika and I. "It appears you have Nen abilities. But, suggest you say out of this."

Three others comes over and Hiro does the same thing as before and touches all three of them. One of them was a tall, thin man with spiky, messy hair that was very dark red, pointy ears, and sharp filed teeth. He wore a necked, long-sleeved dark purple shirt with beige pants and light brown shoes. His ability didn't have a name either but it said 'Rabid Dog' and he was an Enhancer. His ability allowed him to make him move faster and sharpen his teeth, which had neurotoxins in them that allowed him to paralyse someone.

The other one was a chubby person, with a large red nose in the middle of his face. He was wearing a short-sleeved dark grey shirt and dark blue eyes with tennis shoes. His ability was called Leech and he was a Manipulator. Inside Leech's body there is a bag out of muscles, where he breeds species of leeches, that have a love of human flesh. They have different abilities and uses. The last one was a small small man, who doesn't a nose and was dressed in overalls and flip-flops. He has a sullen expression on his face. He has three tiny hairs that form a small tuft on his forehead.

His ability was called Needling Body Hair and he was a Transmuter. His ability allows him to control his own body hairs. He can give them the length and size he wishes. He can turn them into thin spikes and the spikes can be used to intercept enemy blows, and Porcupine is confident they can stop even projectiles. They cannot be removed without his intervention.

"Yeah, because these are no ordinary thugs or pests." Raid Dog says while walking towards us with Leech and Porcupine.

"They're professionals, to them killing is probably a daily routine, like waking up and eating breakfast." Porcupine explains.

"So I guess you can say they're not much different from us." Leech says while smiling cruelly.

"These are the ones that attacked the auction." Worm says.

"He looks like an interesting advisory, from what I can tell." Says Porcupine making Rabid Dog scoff.

"All I see over there is a dead man."

"He has no idea what he's up against." Leech says touching his stomach.

"Alright, proceed as according to plan." Worm says and disappears under the ground.

'He must be the leader.' I think to myself, since the other's didn't argue and walk forward on command.

"Be prepared." I tell them and they look at me. "It's unlikely that they'll survive."

"Why do you think that?!" Squala asked, still terrified.

"Because I do." I say flatly and watch as the Shadow Beasts, beside Worm approach the man.

"The Shadow Beasts." The man says smiling. "What did you do with the stuff from the auction?"

"What did you do with the people from the auction?" Rabid Dog asked.

"We killed them. Where's the stuff? Tell me or I'll-"

He was interrupted when Worm comes out from underneath the ground and punches him in the face. It didn't seem very effective because the man was still smiling. Worm lifts up his hand and sees each of his fingers broken and bent in different directions.

"Now it's my turn." He says and punches Worm once in the face and he falls to the ground only to go underneath the ground again and grab the man's arm. Worm seemed to be saying something from underground but all I could hear were the vibrations from his mouth and not the sound.

"It's game over for ya." Rabid Dog says cockily. The man struggles to get up while his arm was still trapped underground.

"If you have any last words you better say them quick." Leech says.

"What are doing down there anyway?" Porcupine teases. "You look like you're about to take a nap or something."

"Well we shouldn't let Earthworm take all the fun." Rabid Dog activates his ten and his teeth and nails grow exponentially. The rest of his teammates follow. "Let's go! Lie there like a dog all you want, this is the end for you!"

"No mercy!"

"I DON'T THINK SO!" THe man yells and he concentrates all his Nen to his right hand and Hiro comes out and flies over unnoticed. He touches the man while the man attacks. "THEY'LL BE NO MERCY FOR YOU!"

Uvo, also known as Uvogin focuses his aura in a fist with Ko, then punches the target. Although it is just a simple right straight that is enhanced with aura, it generates a force strong enough to cause an explosion, the power and size vary depending on how much aura is used. It was called the Big Bang Impact, Uvogin is an Enhancer. Hiro disappears once again.

A large explosion comes from Uvogin and a large gust of wind almost blows away our cars and sends debris towards us. I look back and see that 'Uvo' had created a crater more than twenty meters in diameter. Uvogin stands up with the rest of his body facing us.

"I don't believe a Nen ability like that existed." Squala says and I Iook over to Kurapika who still had the binoculars. He was shaking in anger. I concentrate back onto the fight and there wasn't any sign of Worm beside a hand that was still clutched onto Uvogin.

"Told you." I say not looking back at Squala. Uvogin looks over to the 3 living Shadow Beasts,

"Alright, who's going to be the next to die?"

"So you're in the Phantom Troupe?" Rabid Dog states more than asks and spits on the ground.

"He's cocky." Leech says.

"Hmph." Porcupine says looking at Uvogin who was mocking them. "Somebody out to teach this guy a listen."

The three jump up into the air straight towards Uvogin.

"ALRIGHT I'M STARTING TO LIKE YOU GUYS!" Uvogin says happily and clutches his fists. "YOU'RE SO RECKLESS! IT'LL KILL YA!" He aims his fist at Porcupine but the hairs on his body expand and attach themselves onto Uvogin like needles.

"I can manipulate my body hair by turning it into sharp needles." He explains. "That's why they call me Porcupine. You have a very powerful punch but it won't do you any good if it can't connect, right? And if you don't do something soon, my quill will puncture your face."

Since Uvogin was so focused on Porcupine, Rabid Dog comes from behind him and rips off a piece of flesh from his left shoulder. The rest of the Phantom Troupe was standing and looked over to the man.

"HEY UVOGIN!" A younger man says. He had light blonde and green eyes. He wore a lavender and purple outfit with lavender shoes. "DO YOU NEED ANY HELP DOWN THERE?!!"

"YOU JUST MIND YOUR OWN BUSINESS!" Uvogin yells and moves his arm wildly around his body. "ALL I NEED TO DO IS SHAKE THIS LITTLE HAIRBALL LOSE AND THEN I'LL BUST HIS HEAD WIDE OPEN!"

"Go ahead and try, but I've got a thousand quills buried in your skin, you'll never get them out!"

"Have it your way! You can be my own personal boxing glove! Like this!" Uvogin aims Porcupine's body at Leech's but the hairs soften.

"That didn't work either did it?' Porcupine asks. "Like I said I can manipulate my body hair, which also means I can turn it into soft, flowing locks."

"You little twerp!" Uvogin yells and continues to punch Porcupine on the ground.

"You don't know when to give up do you? You're right hand is useless. You're finished."

Rabid Dog takes another bite out of his flesh but this time from his left knee. "You're making this too easy. You muscle head! I'm gonna chew you right down to the bone!"

"Let's see ya try!" Uvogin yells and throws two punches at him, but isn't able to do anything else when his body collapses and he's stuck sitting on the ground.

"All brawn no brains. Oh, so it's starting to work? There's a neurotoxin in my fangs, right now you're paralysed from the neck down. Which means your brain function, what little there is, will be unaffected. You'll still be able to feel the pain we're gonna inflict on you. Have fun."

"Stupid, he should have just used lethal toxins." I say under my breath. Leech grabs Uvogin's head with his hand.

"I've got lots and lots of leeches living inside my body." Leech says, rubbing his stomach."Some can be used for medicinal purposes while others carry contagious diseases. I've got a very special type picked out just for you."

We watch as Leech releases his leeches through Uvogin's shoulder wound from before. "These leeches are like no other, they enter through your body through a wound then blow their way through your veins and end up in your bladder where they lay their eggs. My favorite part is when millions of baby leeches burst out of the world as you urinate. Except most people don't get to enjoy it because they die from the sure agony of it. Leeches crawling inside you all through the night and you just get to sit there until you're dead-"

Uvogin opens his mouth and bites almost one fourth of Leeches head off and he collapses to the ground. "Needs salt." He said still chewing it. "I guess I shouldn't have expected much. He didn't look very appetizing." He smiles. "I only need to move from my neck up to kill you." Uvogin spits out a piece of Leech's skull which goes through Rabid Dog's hand and his own skull. Uvogin looks over to Porcupine and blows in air.

I cover my ears and a second later Uvogin let's out a yell that could have burst anyone's eardrums. Kurapika didn't seem affected but everyone else was. Porcupine falls to the ground, dead. "Aw, you can't deflect sound with those quills, can you?"

All of the corpses lay around Uvogin and Kurapika clenches his fists while Squala is on the phone. "Yeah that's right!" He yells. "That's what I'm telling you! All the guys that went out first are wiped out! Yeah, even the Shadow Beasts!"

Kurapika walks forward and I make no move to stop him, while everyone else does.

"Hey Kurapika!" Squala yells. "Where do you think you're going?!"

"The answers obvious isn't it? I'm going to capture him."

"Hang on a second! I got Dazollene on the line!"

"It makes no difference." Kurapika says looking back at him as his aura changes from calm to absolute hatred and bloodlust.

"Kurapika! Are you sure you want to do this?!" He asks. "It's suicide! Just wait until we can come up with a plan so we can go in this together!"

"Kurapika!"

Melody plays her music to calm Kurapika down. Hiro appears and takes a card from Melody and hands it to me.

Melody is an Emitter and the move she used is 'A Field in Spring'. Melody emits her aura while playing a flute, healing others' fatigue and illness while also relaxing one's emotional state.

"A Field in Spring." She says smiling. "A melody that never fails to relax me. I hope it has the same effect on all of you."

"Uh.. Yeah it did." Squala says.

"And now that we've had a chance to calm down, we can work together to come up with a plan."

"Don't bother." I say and they look back at me. "There's nothing that you or me will say to stop him." I look into Kurapika's eyes and smile slightly. "Just don't die alright? I would hate to explain to Gon, Killua and Leorio what happened to you."

"Alright." He says and looks over to Squala. "Squala, tell Dazollene, I know what I'm doing. So let me go in."

I look over to the Phantom Troupe and watch them. The blonde boy from before jumps down and expects the leechs. "This right here is a spotted leech. You definitely don't want one of these inside of you! It takes 24 hours to react your bladder and once they get there they lay their eggs and die. The eggs hatch pretty quickly and then the baby leeches are excreted through your urine! The pain will be enough to kill you!"

Amazing how he could keep a smile on his face. "But don't worry! It's fairly painless to pass unhatched eggs and they need a high alkaline environment to hatch! So all we have to do is keep your body's PH level as low as possible." He kills the leech by squishing it with his fingers."In my opinion from now until tomorrow, you should drink plenty of fluids and pee as often as you can! And once you notice that your urine is turning from black to clear you'll know you're okay!"

"So what you're saying is, I gotta drink all night?" Uvogin asked.

"That's right!"

"Hurry up Shizuku! I need to keep this poison sucked out, I've got some drinking to do!"

"Coming!" Shizuku moves down and Kurapika takes out his chain which had a hook on it and activates his nen and his eyes had a red glow to him. In a second he was able to rap his chains around Uvogin and throw him towards us having him hand in front of Kurapika.

Hiro placed five cards in my hands.

Chains, Conjuration: Kurapika can conjure five chains that extend from each finger on his right hand. To increase the effectiveness of his chains against them, Kurapika placed strict Limitations on the usage of his chains. Since the chains are materialized, they can be extended and swelled to a certain degree.

Holy Cross, Conjuration and Enhancement: Shaped like a cross, it cures wounds by drawing from Enhancement abilities. When Kurapika is in his Specialist state, it can heal serious injuries.

Chain Jail, Conjuration: Shaped like a hook, it wraps around Spiders and restricts their movement. It also forcefully causes its prisoners to enter Zetsu, shutting off their aura and preventing the use of Nen abilities. It is only possible to escape from the Chain Jail through brute force. Kurapika imposed a Limitation onto this chain, so that it can only be used to deal with members of the Phantom Troupe. If this condition is violated, Kurapika will die.

Dowsing Chain, Conjuration: Shaped like a ball and chain, Kurapika uses this for defensive, offensive purposes and other investigative activities, He can also uses this chain to identify if someone is lying. It has a small ball-like weight at the end which moves in the direction of whatever he is dowsing for.

Judgement Chain, Conjuration, Emission and Manipulation: The Stake of Retribution, a blade on the end of the Judgment Chain, enters the victim's body and wraps around the heart. Kurapika sets two conditions and if the victim violates either one, the chain crushes their heart, killing them. It can only be used while Kurapika's eyes are scarlet.

Emperor Time, Specialization: When Kurapika's eyes shift into scarlet, he changes from a Conjurer to a Specialist. This ability allows him to utilize all the types of Nen to 100% efficiency (for a Conjurer). Kurapika explains this using the terms "Level", "Force" and "Accuracy": his "Levels" in the various Nen categories remain the same during Emperor Time, but his Force and Accuracy for every category are raised to 100%.
