Inhumane
I wake up. The light streaming through the windows. I rub my eyes. Remembering last night, I smile. Getting up, I stretch. My bare feet on the cold floor. In my kitchen, I wash my face and hands. I grab some extra berries that I brought home a few days age. I wash them and walk outside. I sit down on the grass and pop a few berries in my mouth. The sweet taste on my tongue. The sun shines on my face. I close my eyes and eat a berry. I smile. Then I hear a noise. I open my eyes and look around. All I see are animals grazing and birds chirping. I shrug. I take my last berries and eat them. Standing up, I walk back inside. I get ready for my walk for food. I grab my basket for berries. I grab my bow for meat. I head out into the forest. Humming a song that played last night, I walk into my bush where I normally sit. I haven't got meat in a while. I look out. I start to see something. A deer. I load my bow. Drawing it, I aim for it. I ready and shoot. My aim perfect. The deer falls down. I smile. Walking over, I pull my arrow out. I look at it. Wiping the blood off the arrow, I pick up the deer. I balance it on my shoulders. The blood drips onto my shoulder. I hold the legs of the deer, pack up, and start walking home. The food trip was short. But I got meat to last me for weeks. Another drop lands on my shoulder. Soaking into my shirt. I see my house in the distance. But it has light inside. I look down and close my eyes. Opening, and looking up, I still see my lit up house. I walk slowly towards it. I place my meat down in the back of the house. I load my bow with my bloodied arrow. Crouching against the house, I move towards the front of the house. I get right next to the door and kick it open. Candles are lit and water is rushing from the kitchen. Then it stops. I slowly walk to the kitchen. I look in. I mutter one word.
"You."
