Chapter 10
I waited there for a few minutes, squeezing my arms lightly in the cold, damning myself for wearing a light jacket. After a period of time that seemed like an eternity, he appeared, in all his glory. He wore nothing special: jeans, a T-shirt and a black leather jacket but he was delighted. He approached me slowly, slightly surprised to see me dressed like this: I usually wear a shirt and pants to go to school and when I go out, well, I almost never go out. He stared intently at my crimson lips which were slightly parted. He reached me, peering at me better under the milky rays of the moon.
"Why so elegant?"
"Sometimes..."
I tried to hide my embarrassment by looking down but he lifted my chin with a finger and forced me to do so, so that I could no longer hide what I felt.
"As I imagined." he said smiling "should I feel honored?"
"A little..."
"In fact, I'm honored to be your first boyfriend ..." I looked at him trying to figure out if he was serious or if he was just kidding me. "... that's why I have something special in mind." "What?" I asked with eyes marked by a childish air.
"Look at the sky."
I did as he told me by sitting on the cold sand. He followed my gesture and raised his hand. His eyes immediately turned turquoise, so beautiful to be able to drown in them. I was amazed to admire that strangeness that became more and more normal to me. When he realized I was staring he smiled in amusement and again ordered me to stare up. I reluctantly followed his order and my eyes widened at the sight of what was in front of me. A candied blue softly kissed the electric green that swayed in the sky, forming an endless dance of bright lights and colors that I never imagined I would see in my life. Those sweet lights were reflected in the deep sea, creating a symphony of emotions when they lick the halo of the white queen of the night. I opened my mouth about to say something but nothing I managed to get out, only a cloud of frost that thanks to this I remembered the cold of the night. I felt something cover my shoulders, I stared at him out of the corner of my eye, unable to distract my attention from that wonder that was showing itself in front of me. I enjoyed the extraordinary scent that his jacket emanated, mesmerized by the magic of that unique moment. I rested my head on his shoulder, he immediately stiffened but after a while he relaxed letting me rest on it. I saw the wonderful colors that, dancing, formed bewitching whirlpools that I would stare at for the rest of my life.
"You like?"
"It's wonderful but ... how did you do it?"
"It is a small privilege for those born during the day."
"What do you mean?"
"I mean that I can govern some things of the Sun."
"You are unique."
"I know. My sister and I are the only ones with these skills. "
"Why?"
"In our world, twins who are born one during the day and the other at night manage to have all this."
"Amazing."
"Yeah." He said smiling.
"You and your sister have a very strong bond, don't you?" I asked frowning, thinking back to me and Marika.
"She is my strength as I am his." I felt a thrill at those words, my sister and I will never have had this kind of relationship, she is too busy fighting me. "Each acts for the good of the other as for all brothers, isn't it the same for you and Marika?" He asked making his gaze meet mine.
I lowered my frowning head, sending their report a bit. I really wanted a relationship like theirs. I loved my sister and I will always love her but she seems to not want me, on the contrary, that she is happy when she inflicts harm on me.
"Not exactly ..." I replied, snuggling a little closer to him.
"What do you mean?"
"That she doesn't like me at all, she's afraid it'll embarrass her and make her look bad." "How sorry?"
"Do you think I can't especially like a guy like you ..."
"And who should I like it? A guy like you? " He finally said almost disgusted.
"Well you went out once." I said, jerking my head up.
"I like to have fun every now and then but she is too self-centered, vain, exuberant."
"Look Who's Talking."
I joked giving him a light tap on the shoulder.
"Ah, I would be vain?" He asked with a surprised expression, pointing with one hand he had rested on his bent knee.
"Vain, self-centered, narcissistic, megal ..."
I could not finish the word that kissed me throwing me to the ground. The wide eyes closed immediately as they got used to the hot feel of her lips on mine. I felt a warmth that spread throughout my body, it was a sensation that I had never experienced. If I had dreamed of my first kiss I would not have described it like this, I could never have described it like this because it went beyond human conception. I never imagined it would happen at night, a few steps from my house, under the wild dance of a thousand lights and the moon spying on us bored. I never imagined getting lost in the lips, lost in the flavor of the other person. When it broke away I felt a slight tremor that hit me all over. He stretched out one leg and I settled on his chest. Nobody said anything as the first light of dawn began to emerge from the water. You could only hear our heartbeats and the small waves crashing on the beach. I closed my eyes and heard cries of joy that the wind carried with it, I could hear the sweet notes of that eternal melody sung by those two souls in love. No noise of cars or children who used to play around there. Just me, him, them and the sea.
