Aspen flipped back dodging Ocean's water attacks. A sudden attack shot out from the ground. The geyser died down but again shot up towards Aspen who froze it.

He then shot icicles towards Ocean who dodged it. Then an ice stalagmite shot out from the ground and stabbed Ocean's chest.

Ocean was surprised. He had thought that he would be killed right away but expectations are not always reality.

His body flowed away from the stalagmite and deformed. His body was made of water. Ocean sent boiling hot water towards Aspen whose freezing technique failed and the water strikes him at intense pressure and heat.

Aspen let out a scream. He fell to the ground but recovered quickly still wincing from the burns. Then Aspen's breaths added to turn foggy. There was a pretty high concentration of steam and water vapour.

Ocean smirked as Aspen's body started to dehydrate. Aspen came to realize what was happening within his body. It was not some disease or anything. It was the doings of his adversary.

Ocean had been focusing on the water inside Aspen's body and had been converting it into steam which was being done by heat.

"If it heat what's causing this...." Aspen thought, "Then what if......"

Aspen started to focus on the steam inside his body and the leftover liquid water and started cooling it down with his ice magic making the steam condense back into water.

Aspen smirked his body gaining strength. Any heat waves from Ocean started getting neutralised by his cooling powers.

Ocean tried his best to get through his ice. A strong currwnt of thick cold air caught him off guard and he lost his balance.

About a foot from the ground, he froze. He literally froze. An iceberg formed around him. He tried to fight against the ice but the low temperature of the ice made his limbs go numb.

He started to lose sense of his surroundings as all sounds were blocked of because of the thick mass of ice surrounding him. His vision started to fog up and no smell came to him, at all. He couldn't even taste his own saliva which itself started to freeze.

Soon enough, he wouldn't even have known that he was inside a huge mass of ice if it wasn't for his memory and brain.

Poison came running to the scene of the fight.

"Another opponent, I see." Aspen smirked as he pointed his finger towards Poison who froze in an instant.

"Now back to my new way of entertaining myself." He said and sent a very cold current to him. The cold and ice started to take over his body.

His muscles had stopped moving. His limbs had gone numb. He had lost his senses. His lungs could have  exploded at any second and burst into flames as his lungs were filled with liquid oxygen. He would have been burnt down into flames if it weren't for the cold ice around blocking any possible heat. His systems had stopped working. His blood also started to freeze.

He felt something , more likely realized. His heart had stopped beating.

This chapter is cold. Pun intended.
While I was writing this chapter, I thought that I am basically making everyone revise the states of matter - ice, water and steam.
In every next chapter, I will give a quick recap of what has happened previously at the start and at the end I will give a sneak peek of the next chapter just like this one.

Would Aspen turn out victorious or would the tables take an unexpected turn? Would the fight end this easily?
