Heart Broken

The guardians slowly came to a stop at the edge of the village, their breaths held, taking in the carnage. Buildings were blasted apart by ice as well as a few building collapsed in the midst of it. It was eerily silent, besides a few t.v's and radios speaking out from a few houses and the waves of the ocean crashing against the rocks.

Tooth slowly floated down the cement road, looking around, her heart in her throat. She spotted someone lying on the ground. Gasping she floated over to them, before hovering barely above the ground, trying to turn the person over. When she did, a horrific scream escaped her lips. She slammed into another house, trying to get away from the body.

The other guardians came toward her, following her stare to see the body on the ground. It was a woman, but her eyes were opened and glazed over like a hazy fog. Her chest was torn opened by some kind of rabid animal. Bunny nearly puked at the sight of the poor woman.

"How could they do This? Pitch is evil, but he's not slaughter a village evil." Bunny says, still trying to calm his stomach.

"The Ice tells me it vasn't Pitch." North says, glaring at the broken houses. He didn't kmow where else to look. He didn't want to look at the villagers, afraid of what he would see but he didn't want to look at his comrades to see the broken hearted expressions.

"Jack would never do This! He would never hurt anyone." Tooth shouted.

"Look around, Toothiana! This was Jack's doing." Bunny snapped. "He's too dangerous to be let loose."

Sandy stepped forward and made a few symbols on his head. Bunny sighed. "I know, Sandy. He is being manipulated but it's still him doing it. We have to get the old Jack back before this kind of slaughter happens around the world." He explains, running a hand through his furry head.

Tooth started rubbing her arm, a little uncomfortable. "What if... Jack does come back and he finds out what he did. It will ruin him." She says.

Bunny looked mortified at that statement. Jack may be a Dick, but he would never hurt anyone. He was the guardian of fun, and eith this on his conscience it will break him. "We need to get him back before anything else happens."

With that they started around the town, looking for survivors. A small string of nightmare sand disappeared into the sewers, undetected.

Jack leaned against his wolf, licking the blood off of his palm as he side eyed Pitch who looked absolutely pleased. He had a ball of Nightmare sand in front of him that was showing him images of what was happening in the village they just eradicated. At Tooth's scream, Pitch only laughed maniacally.

Jack straightened up, dropping his hand to his side as he walked over to the log Pitch was sitting on. He leaned in close to Pitch, watching the blurry image in the sand. Pitch sent Jack a satisfied side smile, before folding one leg over the other and his chin leaning on the ball of his palm as his elbow rested on a rock next to him.

They watched as the guardians started talking, but the sand was too far away to pick up most of the conversation, before they walked away towards the town. Jack jumped away from him before clashing his hands behind his back. He slowly made his way back to his wolf and started petting her on the ears.

"So how was their reaction? Was it to your liking, Sire?" Jack asked.

Pitch sent him a wicked grin. "It was better. I never thought I would see the day that the guardians looked so defeated. It's quite a sight." He stood up from the log and made his way over to Jack, placing a hand on his shoulder. "Come, I think it's time to pay them a visit. I don't want to let them rest." He said into Jack's ear.

Jack nodded. "They are down that hill, shouldn't be too hard to find." Jack said, before jumping on the back of Laika. He looked over, seeing Pitch jump on the back of his tiger before they both sent each other an equally amused smirk. Pitch started first and Jack leaned close to Laika, grabbing her sandy fur and holding on as she shot forward. Because of Jack and his wind, they hopped off of some tree trunks, doing cool tricks.

Laika jumped off of a tree trunk and shot for another one, passing Pitch who was on the ground. Pitch looked up and chuckled. "Having fun up there?" He asked.

Jack nodded, sending his infamous side smile as they landed just a few feet ahead of him. "Catch up, old man!" He shouted, jumping onto another boulder and soared through the air before coming to a stop at the edge of the town. He was laughing, rubbing Laika's ears.
"Good girl!" He rewarded, hearing her purr.

Pitch made it beside him. "Show off." Was all Pitch said before looking down at the town. Jack chuckled scanning the area below, spotting the guardians by the edge of the sea.

"There they are." Jack pointed out.

"Well then we shouldn't keep them waiting. Come along, My Prince." And Jack did, Laika following behind him. The closer they got however, Jack started feeling dizzy. He couldn't explain why, but he shook it off.

Laika stopped and Jack looked up to see the Guardians backs. Pitch cleared his throat, causing the guardians to jump. "I see you found our handy work. You like?" Pitch asked.

The Guardians were shaken and visibly furious. Bunny especially who only had murderous eyes for Jack. "It's okay. If it makes you feel better, they died fast, Jack made sure of that."

"You were never this heartless in the past. Why now?" Tooth asked, her eyes puffy from crying.

Pitch chuckled. "Because now I have someone who can help. Before my plans were small since I was the only one behind it. This that you are standing in, was all Jack's idea." He finished watching the guardians shiver.

All eyes landed on Jack who wasn't showing any emotion. "Tell me this isn't true, mate?" Bunny asked.

Jack leaned forward on the palm of his hands, resting his elbows on Laika's back. "It is true. I was the one who came up with this. And there's more to come." He explained.

Pitch got a bad feeling in his stomach, and when he finally looked at the guardians he realized what it was. Sandy was missing. He looked over at Jack to see Jack seemed to notice as well. Jack's eyes slowly looked behind him just in time to see the yellow sand shoot out.

"Laika!" Jack shouted and on command, Laika squatted down and Jack leaned forward, hugging Laika, the sand barely misssing his head. The sand shot back just as Laika hopped up and ran toward the other side of Pitch. Jack sent daggers to the Sandman.

Pitch let out a whistle. "Impressive response time, My Prince." Pitch commended.

Jack cleared his throat. "Thanks sire. It seems we aren't welcomed."

Pitch scoffed. "That's fine." He sent the guardians a look in which they returned a death glare. "We have business to attend to. Come." He said. "Nice to see you again, Guardians." Pitch turned to see Sandy step out from behind a building. "Sandy." Before the sand came from the ground to engulf them. Jack felt the dizziness slowly over take him when he heard the guardians call his name. Especially Tooths voice. It pierced through him, making him groan as they dissolved into the sand.

A/N: another update! I know! Also don't worry. You will see some gore, so if you not into that, then stop reading. Other than that, enjoy the chapter!
