Antagonize
Jack stood at the top of a building, watching the Guardians carry the injured Teen to the sleigh. Jack sighed. Leaning against the building, he caught Bunny's eyes, making him smirk. He waved at Bunny who looked like he was trying to set Jack on fire with his gaze. Bunny said something to the other Guardians, all of them turning towards him.
"Seems we have been spotted, Laika. Should we go say hi or go back to Pitch?" Jack asked.
Laika licked her lips shifting her eyes to Jack. He understood and jumped on top of her. Laika jumped down, though she pounced right next to the sleigh.
"Coming to gloat your slaughter success?" Bunny snapped.
Jack chuckled. "Of course. It's quite nice to see all of you struggle with how harsh reality is." He leaned against Laika, causing her to be cautious. "Not everything is wonder, rainbows and colorful eggs. The real world is dark and evil. We thought why not us to show the ugly truth to the world." Jack's purple, emotionless eyes sent a shiver down their spines.
Bunny scoffed. "You are the most pathetic being I have ever met. I thought it was Pitch, but you are worse. You were a pathetic guardian and now you are a pathetic doll." Bunny antagonizes, trying to get under his skin.
"Bunny!" Tooth snapped.
Jack felt his heart sink, and for some reason the part about the Guardian made him dizzy. Shaking his head he leaned back on Laika, sending a murderous smirk their way.
"I'm not a delicate snowflake whose feelings get hurt by some words. That may be the Jack before me, but I am not him." Jack argued. "If you want to get under my skin I suggest a different approach, Pooka."
Being too caught up in trying to argue with Bunny, he was unaware of Sandy making his way behind him. In a fast motion, Jack's ankle was grabbed by Sandy's golden sand whip.
Jack cursed under his breath as he felt his ankle be yanked. His staff flew out of his hand as he slammed onto the street, landing in a pile of blood. On the way down, Jack hit his head, knocking him out. Laika growled, pouncing, she bit the Golden sand. Hissing at the pain it caused her. She stood in front of him, using her tail to block Jack from them.
"Quick! Get him while hes passed out! North you take that young man to the hospital!" Bunny demanded.
Laika pounced down, growling when they got close to her and Jack. Jack's head was bleeding, making Tooth worry at how hard he hit his head.
"How are we going to get to him with the beast in front of him?" Tooth asked.
"Sandy. He can corrupt Pitch's nightmare sand into his own dream sand." Bunny said, looking over at Sandy who got what they meant.
Using his Sand he made a ball. Aiming it at the Wolf, he released it. When it hit Laika, though, instead of turning her golden, she yelped. It hurt her, but didnt change her. She growled at the stubby man, her eyes piercing him.
"That didnt work." Bunny stated.
Sandy glared, knowing in order to get to Jack, some drastic measures needed to be taken. Forming his sand into two whips he slashed them forward, hooking one onto Laika's front paws and the other one on her neck. Yanking he pulled her to the ground, exposing Jack.
Bunny was in awe at Sandy as he rushed forward, snatching Jack's hood and bringing him up. Laika whined, trying to get free. Seeing Jack in their grasps made her freak as she tried everything in her power to break free.
Bunny leaned Jack against his knee, examining his head. It was a gash, a pretty nasty one at that, but it unsettled him seeing the black hair against his pale skin. He had bags under his eyes as well, giving him almost a sickly, evil look.
"He has a bad gash on his head, but he seems fine." Bunny said. Looking up at Tooth.
Tooth let out a relieved sigh. "We should get him back to the pole and lock him up. As much as I hate it, he cant be trusted."
Bunny nodded. "Once Sandy can find a way to uncorrupt him, being under surveillance is the be-" Bunny didnt finish, a blast of black sand sent both of them flying to the other side of the street.
Regaining their posture they tried to see what happened. To their surprise, Laika was in front of him again, licking his wound. Sandy was surprised as well, looking at his whips that once held Laika were on the ground.
She howled loudly, making Bunny cover his ears at the ear piercing sound. Almost as fast as she howled, it died down and appeared Pitch out of thin air.
"Seems my presence is called." Pitch smirked, looking around to see the slaughtered town as promised, but what caught him off guard was the Guardians standing around. He looked over at Laika, a pit of worry in his stomach seeing her protectively standing on top of an unconscious Jack.
Pitch sighed. "Teenagers. Such trouble makers." He said, walking over to Jack. The Guardians watched as Pitch approached Laika, and to their surprise, she bowed and stepped away from Jack.
Pitch bent down and gathered Jack in a bridal style carry. He straightened up, Laika walking to his side, wrapping her tail around Pitch's leg.
"Why are you making him do this?" Tooth asked, her voice filled with hurt.
Pitch chuckled. "I'm not making him do anything. All of this is by his own will." The nightmare sand came out of the ground, snaking around all three of them.
"That is not Jack!" Bunny snapped.
Pitch laughed. A genuine, guttural laugh that unsettled the Guardians. "Denial will only hurt you when you find out the truth." He clutched Jack closer. "And I cant wait for it to smack you in the face." And just like that, they disappeared in the sand.
