Guardian!War x Hunteress!Reader
You were just in your cottage, minding your own business, when all of a sudden a huge meteor crashed right in fron of your house.
"Holy mother of shit!" You silently scream, being cut short of running or calling the cops when something unearthly crawled out of the crater it created. Was it a alien? A monster? A demon? Instinctively, you closed the curtain in the window you saw this thing in hopes it didn't see you... or something.
You ran and barricaded the front door with a large bookshelf. You made sure it was sturdy, although whatever you saw could easily break it down. It was better to have something! You went to the back door and covered it with an large item shelf, locked the doors and closed the curtains. Your home was now dark and everything looked eerie. You went to the phone and dialed 9-1-1.
....
No one was picking up! You tried a few more times, until you finally gave up and threw the phone in frustration. Fear and concern began to consume your being, as you began wondering what to do next. You didn't even want to go outside right now, and you didn't know what was going on either!
You stalked upstairs to your bathroom and took a nice shower, hopefully that would calm you down whilst you think. Maybe you could wait for someone. You have your fair share of battles with animals bigger than you. Maybe you could get someone and you can have somebody with you, so you won't be alone.
After you were done with that, you got out brushed your hair and dried yourself off. You decided to wear your huntress outfit. Being a hunter has it's imown benefits. It was a green, black, grey, sandy coloured camouflaged pants and a matching thin jacket to go with. You had a/an (f/c) tank top to go with. You put on combat military styled boots and pulled your hair back in a low ponytail.
The pendant that hunged loosely around your neck had a picture of you, your deceased brother, and two sisters... Well, everyone says they are dead. But you have a feeling they're still out there. You smiled sadly hoping they'd be okay.
You hid the pendants underneath your jacket as you went over to your living room. On the wall was your hunting rifle and your bow was right beside it. You chuckled silently as it felt like you were going out hunting again. You weren't like most people, hunting for fun or for money. Because you didn't live close enough in the city, you had to get your own food to prevent having to walk such long distances. You uses the bone from the animals to carve tiny knives or to repair your bow.
You grabbed the bow and put it around you as you picked out your arrows. You grabbed a bag and stuffed diffrent types of snacks in there before pulling it over your back. It wasn't heavy as you were used to carrying it and because you didn't have much to eat. You grabbed your ammunition bags and put it around your waist as well as your knife made from teeth and bones of some big cat. Finally you grabbed your rifle and approached the window. You made a tiny peek out, aside from the huge crater in the ground, everything seemed normal.
Taking in a deep breath, you move the bookshelf and left the safety of your cabin and into the woodland area. You paused before letting out whistle. A few seconds later, a German Shepherd emerge from within the bushes. The dog barked before trotting over to you. "Good boy!" You say scratching behind his ears.
He wagged his tail while looking at you with one chocolate brown eye and one grey eye. The dog being pleased when you gave him praised. He had a grey collar that said, Clover. You smiled at him and began walking forward holding your gun close, with Clover trotting behind you occasionally sniffing the air.
That was hours ago and now you're beating the shit out of some creature. You were surprised you had even killed it. All you had to do was attack it from behind and it just fell out. Your dog came from behind you and ripped at it's neck, but jumped back in surprise when blood pour out. Clover sniffed it before looking at you and cutely tilting his head.
"Your guess is as good as mines, Clover. Whatever these things are its neither humans or animals and I think we are not going to like it when we find out what they are." You replied to your dog that began whimpering.
"Oh, don't be sad. We're going to get passed this!" You say, Clover's ears perking up as his tail wagged slowly. "Now whose a good boy? You are! Good boy, Clover!" You cheered as Clover happily licked your hand as you petted him. You're 99% positive he understands it when humans talk.
You brought your gun up ready to shoot the next target you see, while Clover was beside you ready to bite someone for your protection. The two of you being an unstoppable duo. After a while of walking and searching for more people, you felt a strange presence. You couldn't put a finger on it, but you know it was something. Being an hunter, you can always feel an animal watching or stalking you. Suddenly Clover turned around and began growling and barking! You turned around as well and nearly jumped at what you saw.
A very humongous being about the size of a skyscraper loomed over you threatenly. It let out a hearty laugh and actually spoke. "Straga finds you amusing!" The creature belows. Clover barked at 'Straga' and you grabbed the dog by his collar. "E-easy Cloves. He l-looks a little dangerous...." You manage to say, feeling very tempted to run but your fear keeping you in one place.
"Hell Guard to arms!" A male called out. You looked for the source of the noise only to find... angels? You looked at awe as you see them all flying at great speed weapons raised. "We will not yield!"
You looked to Clover. "So... We just gonna leave them to it or...?" You asked your animal companion who gave low high pitched bark. "Noted." You say turning away, leaving these angels to distract Straga so you could escape.
You weren't able to get far before a female angel approached you. "You're bold for a human..." She says aloud, eyeing you and now your dog who was barking at her like crazy.
Your eyes widen and your jaw nearly dropped. "You're an a-angel?!" You asked amazed, looking at her wings in awe.
The female softly smile at you, but her tome remained serious. "Yes. I am. My name is Uriel."
"Even your name is pretty! Oh my goodness, this is epic." You gushed, not knowing how to take this. "Oh! Should I curtsy...? Or shake your hand?"
Uriel looked mildly confused by your flustered antics, but you both shook hands. She silently wondered if this was all humans reactions to angels. Well, humans don't exactly have wings or abilities so it would make sense.
Even Clover sniffed at her curiously, once he found out she wasn't a threat.
"Oh, I'm sorry! I sometimes get overexcited! It's just not everyday you meet an actual angel! My name's (Y/N)!" You babbled before pointing to your German Shepherd. "His name is Clover."
"A pleasure to make your acquaintances, (Y/N)." Uriel says politely. "If I may ask, why are you out here instead of somewhere safer?" She asked.
"I wanted to see if I can find more people. My dog and I have been searching for hours and I haven't seen anyone except for monsters." You explained truthfully. A glum expression and tone at the thought that everyone is dead. Even Clover looked down and whimpered.
Uriel seemed to have catched on because she gently grabbed your shoulder. "I'm sorry. It must've been hard for you." She says, attempting to be sympathetic.
You nodded, shaking off the bad feeling. "It's alright. They've probably just-"
Not even thinking for another second, her eyes widen and she flies past you with her sword brandished killing a monster. On instinct, you brought up your rifle and aimed it at the creature who was clawing at her. You pulled the trigger and got a headshot.
"Tch, Damn! Headshot! Are you okay?" You asked. Uriel nodded her head and looked to you. "Thank you, human. I do believe I owe you. Yes, I'm fine."
"No sweat!" You say as Clover goes up to the corpse and sniffed it curiously. He looked at you and tilted his tiny head. "So, Clover's wondering what kind of... thing that is." You tell her.
Uriel was kinda confused. "The dog wanted to know who these are?"
"Don't judge."
"I wasn't planning to. Learning and understanding animals, is a unique and judging by your situation a helpful trait." Uriel explained. She pointed to the creature before her. "A demon. It's a demon from hell."
Your eyes widen. You weren't necessarily the religious type, but you had a feeling you weren't going to like the answer. You looked to Clover, who lowered his ears and tail before going next to your feet and licking your leg.
Uriel sighed. "I must go and join my fellow angels. Be safe, (Y/N)! Hopefully we will meet again." She says, then without another word she spread her wings and began flying away.
"O-of course! Take care!" You called out waving at her as she went to join her fellow angels in the fight.
You and Clover turned from the scene and continued to go your own way. Only to be met with a man. A huge man. He seemed human for the most part, apart from his eyes and the fact he's taller than a normal human. Despite his near human appearance, Clover barked at him and began growling.
"Easy boy. It's okay, it's okay." You say before walking cautiously to the man that was looking around him. "Hey, sir?" You asked.
He seemes to have been startled as he brought his sword up and nearly chopped you up. You only squealed and aimed your gun at him, your dog began barking louder and bareing his teeth at the strange man.
The man glared at you from underneath his red hood. "What do you want?" He asked, sharply.
"Oh..." You replied, flinching a little from his loud voice. You felt a little small hearing his sharp voice. "I-I'm (Y/N)... I wanted to find more people so we could work together and save other people." You say, your gun never leaving him.
He looked taken aback by your response. His job was to punish the wicked that was left on Earth, but the girl before him seemed to have been a good girl.
"Why?" He simply asked.
"Well, I don't want people to die! And... I don't want to be left alone either..." You replied.
"Hmm...." the man before you were slightly perplexed, but he wanted to spare you. "Go, human. Hide. It's too late for your race." His words startling you. The thought of being the one of the only humans or even the last human made you... sad.
"Oh..." You replied, fighting tears. "I...I'm bringing my dog somewhere safer."
You turned your head, not wanting to cry in front of this stranger. Instead, you weakly whistled and called your dog to follow you to a nearby building.
After clearing the building that was filled with demons, you sat in a corner and balled up, crying. Clover came up next to you and licked your face caringly and touched your leg with his paw. You gave him a sad look as he gave you a very silly look and his tounge lolled out of his mouth. You slightly smile. "Thanks for being supportive, Clover." You say scratching him behind his ears as he put his head on your lap.
Ugh, your dog is just too freaking cute for his own good.
You spend your time petting his nice fur before you felt the ground shake violently. The debris falling down around you before a loud thud was heard and part of the ceiling collapsed. Lucky for you and Clover, it didn't even hit you. You began coughing from the dust and the light fog of dirt that formed from the sudden movement of the ground. You pulled yourself up and walked away from the corner, this building wasn't safe for you. Hell, you don't think anywhere is safe anymore.
You approached the glass that's pretty close to breaking, you used the but of your gun to break open the glass and walk out of the building only to find...
"It's that guy...." You murmur seeing the red cloaked warrior from before. He was currently stabbing Straga, the creature from before, right in the eye. But something happened, he seemed to have gotten hurt by something as he hit the ground with a loud thud. Whilst he got up, limping away, you notice that Straga was getting ahold of himself.
"Hmm..." Maybe you couldn't save your race, maybe humans were a lost cause at this point but you didn't want to see people die. With a determined look, you pulled your gun up, looking through the scope, and shot Straga in the other eye. And you hit it! With accurate precision, putting Annie Oakley to shame.
The creature reacted immediately and flinched looking away and crying in pain. This gave you the perfect opportunity.
"Uhm, stranger! Over here!" You called out, relived when he noticed you. He hesitated, but limped towards you. "Hurry, hurry!" You call out.
Clover's bark caught your attention, he was looking to where Straga was recently crying in pain. He was now starting to come to and you panicked, pulling your gun out and loading several shots in his eye until you were forced to reload.
You squeaked and pulled the stranger in red into the building, apparently you pulled him in too hard and he fell on top of you. You squeaked louder as he put his weight on you. Noticing this awkward position, the stranger lighten his weight as to not suffocate or crush you with his weight.
"Oh, I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to! I just-"
"It's fine."
He says and with the strength he has, he gets up and held his hand out waiting for you to grab his hand, wanting to assist you in getting up. You reached up and grabbed his too fucking big hand as he helped you up without breaking a sweat.
"Thanks for that!" You thanked him as Clover nudged your leg happy that your okay. He just nodded and allowed the following silence to continue.
"Oh, uhm. I'm (Y/N) as you may already know." You say then pointed to your canine companion who was licking his paw. "And this is my friend, partner in crime, and long time companion! Clover!" Clover looked up hearing his name and wagged his tail excitedly. A happy bark leaving his snout. "What's your name?" You asked him finally.
"I'm known as the red rider, War." He replied and for some reason-- maybe because he has no fucking pupils-- you knew he wasn't human.
"You're not human..?" You asked, you gave a short nod when he answered with a simple no.
"So, uhm... What do you want to do?" You asked. He glanced up at you, then looked to Clover (whose just being the goodest boy ever), then back to you.
What now?
"(Y/N)! Behind you!" War's voice boomed making you turn around just in time with your loaded bow and fire right into your offenders eye. It didn't kill it, only flopping around in what you could only guess is pain. With it distracted, you boldly reached for the arrow and push it deeper into it's eye killing it. Clover pops up beside War and barked behind him in warning, the nephilim turning around and killing his foe.
It's been a few days since you've saved War. You knew a little about him. Like he's apart of the nephilim race along with 3 of his older siblings and he's the legendary horsemen of the apocalypse. You learned he serves this "Charred Council" and is loyal to them.
Really it's almost like something fictional, but he's very real.
Speaking of which, you've met this guy named Watcher? From what you know he was sent to Earth to retrieve War and bring him somewhere. You don't know much about him, other than he can be bit of a dick.
"Wow!" You piped up tossing a treat to your dog. "Fighting these things are getting easier and easier, isn't it boy?" You ask Clover who barked in agreement.
"Ugh, human, if you're done speaking to that mutt we can use you assistance on directions." You hear a very familiar voice.
You glare at the Watcher as he floats towards you, blinking all six of his blue eyes. "You are the only one who knows the way around as much as I hate to admit it. We do need your help."
"First of all, my name is "Y/N!" You corrected harshly. "Second, that "mutt" is my friend. And his name is Clover!"
"Spare me the introduction for the 20th time, 'Y/N' and just get on with it!"
"Well, maybe I wouldn't have to repeat myself if you just call me by my actual name, asshole!"
"Watch your tongue, human, else I will take it out of your mouth!"
"The both of you fight like a married couple." War suddenly said, as he was petting Clover.
The both of you gave War a face of a mix between disgust, embarrassment, and disappointment.
"WE ARE NOT A COUPLE!" Both you and The Watcher shriek terribly offended. War chuckled lowly at both of your outburst.
"Ew, War that's gross!" You cringed.
"Very. As if I would ever be with this menace." Watcher rolled his eyes.
"High words coming from a....whatever the hell your supposed to be."
"How I pity humans...They had to put up with you for as long as they did."
"Oh fuck you, buddy!" You insulted flipping him off with both hands.
"Regardless of your relationship status, we still need to find our way to our destination," War said, standing up and brushing off his pants. "Y/N, can you lead the way?"
You nod, still glaring at the Watcher, but you knew you had to put your differences aside for the sake of the mission. You lead the way through the desolate wasteland, with War and the Watcher following closely behind.
As you walked, you couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. You were in a world that was completely foreign to you, with creatures and beings that you never even knew existed. But you knew that you had to be strong and keep moving forward.
After what felt like hours of walking, you finally arrived at your destination. It was a massive fortress, with towering walls and a moat filled with lava. The Watcher floated up to the gate and spoke a few words in a language that you didn't understand. The gates slowly creaked open, and you all walked inside.
The inside of the fortress was just as impressive as the outside. There were massive halls filled with statues and paintings, and you could hear the sound of armor clanking in the distance.
"We're here," the Watcher said, turning to face you and War. "Now, we just have to find the Council and deliver War to them."
You nod, feeling a sense of nervousness wash over you. You didn't know what to expect, but you knew that you had to be strong and face whatever was ahead of you.
[Cue War's still very confused face as To Be Continued comes onto the screen]
