Act I, Part VI

(Lights on. Bill immediately kicked a table forward which blocked some men. He bent over and lifted a charging man off his feet and onto a trio of men with axes at hand. He rolled diagonally to his right to escape a score of men with knives and kicked a bottle into the eyes of three men. He rolled over a table and brought it down with him so that it could act as a shield against the bullets fired by some men. Knowing that his cover wouldn't last long, he laid on his back and kicked the broken table against the shooters. After doing a Chinese get-up, he grabbed two bottles and threw them against two men. These bottles bounced against their heads and hit another pair of men.
It was then that Bill revealed the state-of-the-art needle shooters worn round his wrist. He dodged a thrown axe from a man and shot four needles which pinned the man to the wall. Another man came charging right behind him with an axe at hand admist his yells. Bill elbowed him on the head with his left elbow without looking at the man, causing the latter to get knocked out cold. He looked at the remaining men, twenty-seven in all, besides Fidal, who just sat in his seat and watched the show)
BILL:(Smirks) Looks like non of ya are worth fighting after all. (Smiles) Why don't we just wear smiles and forget this ever happened eh?
(The men first looked at one another, then yelled and rushed towards him with their weapons. Bill sighed and waited for them to come. The first man came, swang his axe, missed and felt a sharp strike on the neck which made him fall and gasp for breath. Two more men described a complete circle each after receiving a kick below their faces. Two men swang their cubs and ended up hitting each other. Another swang his cub, missed and received a sharp blow on the stomach which made him fall to the ground in pain and stand no more. Needles flew in the air and pinned five men with guns  to the wall, while two other men got knocked out by a pair of bottles and another was struck between his legs. A weaponless man charged to deliver a spear, missed wildly and felt the force of a man changing his direction and slamming him into a trio of men. A man charged with a knife at hand but got knocked out by a chair which shattered to pieces when used on his head. A bottle was thrown into the air by a man but was kicked back into his face. Four pairs of needles pinned a pair of men on their boots to the floor. A piece of wood from the broken chair hit them in the face.
While the bartender stood behind the door and grinned with excitement, Gimm'r watched with excitement glaring in his eyes as Bill faced off the remaining men and pinned them all with his needles. By the time the bar fight was over, Bill was left standing in the midst of pinned, crouching and knocked out men. He adjusted his coat and heard the croacking sound of an armed gun. Turning to his back, he found Fidal still sitting on his chair, arms crossed with a shot of Whisky in his left hand and a pistol in the other)
BILL:(Stands erect and sighed) Well if it isn't the best of the lot, Fidal himself. And I was starting to wonder why you didn't join these fools for your own fair share of beatings.
FIDAL:(Smiles) You're very good at your job Bill, I'd have to admit. But that's what annoys me the most. Always making yourself more worthy than us. (Wears a serious face) And I'd tell you that we aren't going to accept that nonsense anymore.
BILL:(Smiles) I've always told you bastards that anything related to a bounty is my duty, but y'all are just too stubborn to accept the fact.
FIDAL:(Grips the gun strongly) Well them, bounty hunter, prepare to meet your end.
(While Fidal got up from the chair and pointed his gun at Bill, Gimm'r, on seeing this, jumped down from the crate and ran towards the door)
BILL: Go ahead Fidal. Shoot me.
FIDAL:(Smiles) Don't expect to be lucky Bill, cause I'm gonna make sure that your luck ends today.
(Fidal gulped down the shot of Whisky and threw the small glass cup away. He starts to feel whoozy as he pointed his gun at Bill. Before he could pull the trigger, Gimm'r barged into the bar)
GIMM'R:(Shouts admist tears) Dad stop! Please don't do it!
FIDAL:(Stares at Bill In a drunken manner) Son...? What the... Hell are... You doing here?
GIMM'R:(Frowns at Fidal and shooks his head) I'm very disappointed in you dad. (Turns back and takes his leave)
FIDAL:(Exclaims in a drunken manner) Son! Wa... Wait!
(Gimm'r blocked his ears with both hands and ran away while crying. Fidal turned his direction and found Bill standing right in front of him. A punch on the face made him spin in a circle before he fell down flat on the floor. Bill immediately disarmed him and tossed the gun to the bartender who caught it with one hand)
BILL:(Looks at Fidal with disgust while speaking with the bartender) I'll pay you back for the damages friend.
BARTENDER:(Smiles) No need for that Bill.
BILL:(Looks at him) What do you mean by that?
(They then heard the sound of heavy footsteps outside. Policemen flooded the bar and began arresting the hunters. The sheriff was the last person to come in. He walked over to Bill and the bartender and removed his hat?
SHERIFF:(Coughs and speaks to Bill) One of your Lady friends called and told us that you were here. Hope ya aren't hurt.
BILL:(Smiles) Not at all sheriff.
SHERIFF: Good. (Looks at the bartender) The hunters are going to pay a fine for all these damages and for trying to kill Bill. So you can be rest assured that you don't have anything to worry about.
BARTENDER:(Smiles) Thanks Sheriff.
SHERIFF:(Smiles and shakes hands with him) Ya welcome.
(With that, the sheriff left them and went his way, accompanied by his men who dragged the cuffed hunters away. Before he was dragged through the doors, Fidal gave Bill the I'll-be-back look with Bill returned it with a smile)
(Lights off)
***
(Lights on. Gimm'r is seen running through the midst of a crowd and has finally cuddled up himself beneath a large wagon. Although he was very angry and disappointed, he started noticing something unusual. Though he was far away from a group of men, he could hear every word they spoke as if he was in their very midst. He could hear the sound of flies which hovers above the men. He also heard the crashing noise made by a butcher as his knife chopped the fat meat into pieces. He could also hear the chatting of women in a very high pitch, which pained him a little. Then he started hearing the voices simultaneously and louder than before. He held both ears and closed them tightly, all in an effort of cancelling them out. But it was as though the voices sounded within him, screaming all the more and threatening to deafen his ears. It was then that he sort for a better place to find peace. Hardly had he abandoned the safety of the wagon and ran away blindly did he collided with someone and fell. And hardly had he stand up to realise that he was staring into the eyes of someone he knew)
(Lights out)
