~58~

I loved you to the extent where loving someone else seems disrespectful to my personality and heart.

-Randhir

People say that your dark soul is obsessed with me. Only if they could see the arrows you take upon your back to protect me and kept your serious face in front of me making me love you more than I could ever think I could love anyone. No matter how many pure souls I ever meet in my life nobody could give me the warmth and comfort that your soul provides me.

She got inside the car trying to handle Avyukt who was crying loudly this time indicating how hungry he was.

"You should feed him. He is already very hungry", Randhir spoke as she tried to handle him. She nodded as she freed her one bosom out of the blouse. Avyukt immediately started sucking showing how hungry he was at the moment.

She took a breath of relief when he stopped crying. She was thankful that he wasn't this cranky usually. She rested her head on the headrest as Randhir covered both mother-son with his coat so she won't feel uncomfortable. She passed him a small smile thankfully. He just nodded patting Avyukt's head and wiping his remaining tears.

He started driving as Kimaya finally looked at Randhir who looked weird this time. She so wanted to know why he transferred this much money into her account. She forgot the last time she checked her account details. She was just so much busy with life these days. Randhir was the only one handling her accounts and investments.

She noticed him rubbing his eyes again and again.

"Are you okay?", she asked him as he nodded.

"I don't think so", she spoke.

"Please Maya just shut up", he told her harshly making her raise her eyebrows. She nodded her head realizing that he wasn't feeling good at the moment.

She looked at Avyukt who was sleeping peacefully. She covered herself properly again pulling her son closer to her chest. They finally reached back home as Randhir took Avyukt from her. They walked inside the mansion. Of course, they both were very tired from the occasion.

Randhir and Kimaya wished his grandfather as they entered the living room who was currently reading a book sitting on his chair.

"How was the celebration?", Lakshman asked taking Avyukt from Kimaya who was in a deep slumber as usual.

"Pitaji, I can take care of him today. You must be tired. It's already late", Kimaya spoke. She didn't like to trouble him in his old age. He should take a rest not take care of a baby. It was her responsibility. She felt like she was lacking to be a mother after he came back. She wasn't just spending enough time with Avyukt.

"It's fine. He would wake up straight in the morning so there is no trouble. I would get him to change. You both go and rest as well", Lakshman spoke before moving to his room.

Kimaya turned only to find Randhir already upstairs. She sighed getting a glass of warm milk for him. He surely wasn't doing good.

She walked upstairs only to find him massaging his forehead. She put the glass aside before touching her forehead which was a little warm.

"You have a fever", she spoke softly.

"I am good", he told her removing her hands from his forehead not wanting her to get any infection.

"You aren't. Let me take care of you", she said softly moving to the almirah to get the first aid kit.

"I said I am good. Go change. Don't treat me like a baby", he shouted this time making her wince. She looked at him. His eyes were red and his hair was messed up. She was thankful that at least he got changed.

She knew for a fact that he will act stubborn and arrogant if she tried to force things on him so she just nodding walking to the bathroom to get changed.

He took a deep breath feeling his eyes burning. He isn't aware of why he was feeling this way. Maybe the weather didn't suit him but he was stronger than this. He filled a glass of water for himself before gulping it at once trying to reduce the heat in his body.

He wasn't really feeling tired. It was more like his body was burning in the heat. He rubbed his throat lightly in search of some relief but nothing worked. Till this time, Kimaya came out.

She saw his restless self as she immediately moved towards him. She took the medicine from the first aid kit passing it to him with the warm milk.

"I don't need it", he spoke immediately not wanting to have any medicine at the moment. He was already feeling so much bitter. He didn't want to have any other thing to make the situation worse.

She cupped his cheek trying to make him look at her only for him to groan feeling her cold touch on his burning body. It felt so good on his skin as her skin came in contact with his skin.

"Please, have medicine. You would make things worse", she told him as he looked at her face before holding her hands letting the medicine slip out of his hand. She looked at him with a frown as the next moment, he let the glass slip off his hand letting the milk flow on the floor making her gasp.

"What are you doing?", she asked looking at the floor with milk flowing.

"I am not taking anything", he told her lying on the bed. She looked at him helplessly. Why was he this stubborn?

She moved to the bathroom to get a clean towel and a bowl filled with cold water. She dipped the towel in the water before putting it on his forehead.

"Go sleep. Don't irritate me", he shouted more like growled making her shiver.

"I can't sleep when you aren't well", she whispered as he finally opened his eyes. He noticed how beautiful she looked with her pale face having a little redness on her cheek. Her eyes showed her fear and her lips were wobbly.

His eyes traced down to her throat which was moving because of her continuous gulping making him clench his fist. His eyes fell on the black mole on her neck bulging a little out. He so wanted to take it between his teeth and hear her moans.

Seeing him lost she immediately put the wet cloth on his forehead trying to reduce his temperature.

"Please open your mouth", she asked wanting to measure his temperature. He unknowingly followed as his eyes moved a little more down stopping at her cleavage which was peeking out of her red nighty.

She pulled the thermometer out of his mouth checking his temperature before shaking her head.

"Why don't you just take the medicine", she asked him.

"Because I don't want to take it", he told her simply making her sigh. Why does he always have to be this stubborn?

"You know you are acting worse than Avyukt", she told him caressing his cheek feeling worried.

"Because I am his father", he answered.

"I am really worried for you", she spoke resting her palm on his eyes indicating him to sleep. He held her wrist pulling her towards him.

He rested his head on her chest snuggling like a child closer to him. She started moving her fingers in his hair making him breathe in relief.

"Just one medicine", she again tried.

"Shut up", he growled as she switched off the lights.

She sighed lying beside him who moved to the end of the bed so she won't get affected by his infection. She moved closer to him letting her fingers move his scalp making him stiff.

"Shh...", she whispered in his ear feeling that he was about to shout again as she massaged his head softly. His stiff muscles started to get relaxed as he finally felt at peace holding her other hand close to his heart.

She continued looking at his face in darkness before pecking his forehead.

Many would think that at this point she was taking his shits but she knew otherwise. The time she spend with him till now made her understand how difficult his life was.

Everybody around him had so many expectations from him. Him being the eldest son of the Ahlawat family, thousands of responsibilities were thrown on his shoulders.

He saw his parents' problems in his life but never said anything. He had so much on his plate but never showed it to the world not even to her. For the world, he was a man with absolutely no weakness and a heart covered with unbreakable walls but were they wrong.

She has no idea who used to take care of him before marriage because he was a scary man when irritated more than usual.

She massaged his forehead softly as he slowly moved to place his head on her chest making her sigh.

She knew why he was this rude to her. He didn't want her to come closer to him and catch his illness. He was very well aware of her irritation when he would shout at her and adding to that he was sick this time making him like a little child having a sore mood.

Sometimes she felt like she had two kids instead of one because of his mood swings. She closed her eyes still keeping her palm on his forehead which was covered with the wet cloth.

She just wished his temperature would come down but nothing like that happen.

She woke up after two hours when she heard wincing. She looked down and immediately checked his forehead which was burning more now making her eyes wide.

"Please wake up", she told him moving her hands on his shoulder making him hide his face more in her chest. She tried another time sitting making him rest his head on the pillow. She switched on the lamp before getting the medicines.

But then she remembered her mother's words. Never take medicine with an empty stomach.

She moved downstairs after changing into something proper. What if Lakshman woke up? She doesn't want to embarrass herself.

She toasted two pieces of brown bread knowing he won't eat something hard at the moment and a glass of milk before moving upstairs. She woke him up who look more tired this time.

"Please have this till the time I would get the medicine", Honestly she was scared at this point. To this day, it was her taking care of Avyukt only but seeing him sick made her feel weak like she was helpless.

"I said I don't", he told her again. She sighed before cupping his cheek making him look at her.

"Please eat something. You have to take your medicine as well. If you didn't get well soon, I won't let you go to your office nor will you leave this room", she told him. He looked into her eyes. It look like she would cry any moment.

He slowly opened his mouth as she dipped the bread in the milk so it would be easier for him to swallow it. She fed him slowly not wanting him to get uncomfortable before making him eat the medicine.

"You could've taken this medicine earlier", she spoke sighing patting his head softly before pecking his forehead.

"I am good", he told her as she smiled nodding her head.

"I know", she said. She switched off the lights to sleep when she heard Avyukt crying making her sigh as she got up. She didn't want to disturb anyone. Of course, he was her responsibility. If Randhir would've been fine, he would've gone out to get him but she won't ever ask him right now.

"I'll go", he spoke about waking up when she held his hand.

"You rest. I'll go", she spoke before moving to get him back.

He was trying to find his documents moving Kimaya's books aside. She was telling him that she wanted to work now but he couldn't let her go out and get into danger.

He was feeling much better now thanks to his wife.

He saw a document falling out of one of her books making him frown. He sat down to pick it up when another paper came out of it. He frowned reading the document only for his hold to get tighten. He gritted his teeth.

"Divorce", he whispered.
