I sighed falling back on my bed. My mother was still seeing the gifts I got in the engagement.

In reality, the thing which amazed and made be amuse as well was the make-up kit my in-laws gifted me. It was just so big. When I opened it, I realized I don't even know half of the product names so I have to search the name of the products on internet but then I got tired and I let it go.

It was just so big and fancy.

I don't think I would ever be able to finish it.

But my mother said it is normal. If you ask me, my thoughts are contrary to hers.

My phone started ringing and I looked at the clock. It was 11 o'clock. Why would somebody call me at this time?

What if it is important? I picked it up.

"Hello", I spoke up on the call.

"Bhabhi", I frowned looking at my phone.

"Excuse me", I asked.

"It's me, Shantanu", He said as I nodded.

"Yes", I asked feeling weird that he called me this late.

"Actually Bhai was in the bathroom to take a shower so it was the perfect time to talk to you. It's his phone and also I wanted to share something with you", He said as I frowned.

"Yes", I responded.

"Actually Mumma wanted to buy some jewelry for you but is not aware of your choice. So she was asking if you are free tomorrow. She asked me to call you and ask the same but my phone is missing and I can't say the same to her so you see", He said.

"I am free. Don't worry", I told him.

"Okay, perfect. I would send you the location after asking Mumma", He said as I nodded.

"Good Night, Bhabhi", He said.

"Good Night", I responded before hanging up, so weird.

He wanted to meet me tomorrow and now his family wants to buy jewelry but his mother should have called Mumma.

I will talk to her tomorrow.

---------------------

"Wait for a second, I thought aunty Ji was going to be here", I told him looking around removing my shades.

"Yeah, she was going to be here. But then she was preparing for other things and need to go home so here I am", He said as I sighed.

"You need to do shopping. You can do it with me as well", He said typing something on his phone.

"It is Delhi. Somebody would snatch your phone and run away and you won't even realize it", I told him as he raised his eyebrows at me when we heard a commotion. A man was running behind a boy who was having his phone.

"See", I told him.

He sighed before opening the door of his car for me.

"I am not comfortable with you", I told him looking the other way.

"You are going to share my room with me so you need to get comfortable", He stated as I frowned.

"It doesn't even make sense", I told him as he sighed before wiping his face with his hands.

"Let me put it this way. You are going to share your life with me so you need to get comfortable", He said as I nearly cried before slipping inside his car.

He got on the driving seat as he started the engine.

"Let me make it very clear. I have never sat on this seat before", I told him pointing at the passenger seat of the car.

"I didn't ask you anything regarding it", He said looking at the road driving carefully.

"Right", I stated looking outside.

"I don't know anything about jewelry", I told him.

"I do know enough about it. Don't worry", He said as I looked at him with raised eyebrows when my eyes fell on his ring finger. He was still wearing it. I didn't expect this at all.

"I will not remove it", he stated as I looked at him immediately.

"Are you punishing me because I talked rudely with you", I asked him as he looked at me.

"I am not doing anything", He said.

"That is the thing which is bothering me the most. I spoke so rudely with you yesterday but you still act as nothing happened", I stated.

"It was a weak moment for you. You need to let out your frustration on something. I understand", he said as I sighed.

The more I stay with him, the more I realize he is not like others. He is different. He is good and loyal and caring.

But my past would never let me trust him fully and this is what is killing me inside.

I came in the present when I felt his hand brush with my elbow. Of course, he was changing the gear.

"Have you ever been in a relationship before?" I asked him as he looked at me for once before looking ahead.

"Yeah", He responded and I felt weird in my heart.

"Umm... How many?", I asked him.

"Two", He stated as I frowned.

"Why didn't it work?" I asked him.

"It was not meant to work from the starting. I knew my family won't agree to it when they would meet the girls. And all the relationships I had were when I used to study in London", He said as I nodded.

"You miss them?" I asked him after a minute.

"If I would have missed them then I won't have been engaged to you", He stated after a long silence as if he was not really interested in answering that question.

They must have been really beautiful. But the way, he is explaining everything it seems like he doesn't care at all.

"Why did you break up?" I asked him.

"Because I was coming back to India and also they ended up cheating on me", He stated without any expression.

"It must have hurt", I asked him not knowing much about this topic but I remember one of my classmate's girlfriends cheated on him and then he went into depression.

"Not really. They had their physical needs to fulfill", He said as I frowned biting my lips.

"You didn't sleep with them?" I asked him and then realized what I said.

It is so weird to ask your fiancé about these things.

"No", He simply stated as I looked out.

"What about you?" He asked stopping the car at the red light.

"Papa never liked me talking to a guy. Also, I didn't want to get engaged with a guy when I knew it is not going to last. I didn't believe in a temporary relationship and wanted a commitment. Another reason being I don't really trust men", I told him simply.

"I thought girls start hating men after getting in a relationship", He said.

"Well, I am not like them. I don't need to experience things to learn from them. I learn from others' experiences. And those experiences are not really the best I must say", I told him still looking out.

"One day maybe you would be comfortable enough with me to share it", He said as I sighed.

"I just wish so as well", I told him without looking at him.

"And I don't want to buy any jewelry", I told him as he looked at me immediately.

"Your family already gifted me that Kundan set which was much more than I could accept and this is beyond expectation", I told him.

"Shantanu did tell you about this shopping", He told me stopping the car on the side.

"Yeah he did and I thought to say no after meeting aunty Ji. We are not yet married and giving me so expensive gifts is wrong at this moment", I told him.

"But it is important in the marriage", He said.

"If I would be marrying some middle-class man, he won't be able to buy these expensive things. That Kundan set is enough for now", I told him.

He sighed before continuing driving and stopped the car in front of a jewelry shop.

"I said no", I told him as he got out of the car and then opened my side door.

"And I said yes", He stated as I sighed before getting out myself.

He interlinked my hand with him before walking inside with me trailing behind him.

"Sir", a man came in front of us. He was a few inches shorter than him and with his head bowed a little; it seems weird and uncomfortable like this.

"Show your best designs", He stated arrogantly before making me sit on the cushioned seat before sitting beside me.

"Sure, Sir", the man who was the manager said looking at me than at the sets.

Here we go.

"I don't need all this", I whispered to him as he continued looking at the beautiful diamond sets before looking at my neck and then shaking his head.

"Something different", He stated.

"Are you even listening to me?" I asked him as he finally looked at me.

"These necklaces won't look good on you", He stated.

"Why don't you just get into the jewelry business than if you have so much knowledge regarding these things?" I asked him in irritation.

"The deal is getting finalized. My mother will take care of it", he said as I frowned before sighing.

"I am tired sitting here like a statue", I murmured but he heard it of course.

"You seem to get tired really soon", He stated as I gaped at his words.

"You mean I am lazy", I asked him as he just stared at me.

"I didn't say so but if you want to take it that way you are free to do so", He said as I blinked my eyes at his words.

"Can we go, please?" I asked him in a civil way without whining.

"I did place the order so yeah", He said standing up from his place as I followed his movement.

"It's so weird when you look at my neck like that. What will people think?" I asked him.

"I want to get you in bed quickly", He stated as I froze at my place.

"What?" He said stopping a few centimeters away from me.

"That's what people think. You can never be happy if you stay more interested in what people think", He said as I sighed.

"It was so weird to hear something like that from you", I whispered following him out.

"Fuck", I heard him as I frowned.

"This was only left", He said looking at the rain as I smiled widely.

"Eeeeeeeeeeeeee", I squealed before trying to get into the rain when he pulled me back.

"Are you a kid?" He asked as I smiled at the rain.

"What kid? It's raining. See how gorgeous it is", I told him pointing at the rain as he sighed.

"You are still a kid", He stated.

"Well in my defense I would say I am 22 years old", I told him.

"I was talking about mental age", He said opening his car door for me as I got inside silently thinking about his words.

"Wait did you just call me a kid by my brain", I asked him.

"Yeah", he stated without any shame.

"I object to this. It is highly insulting", I told him crossing my arms.

"Objection overruled. When you behave like a kid, you should be ready to be called the same", He told me.

"Nobody calls me that at home. Except for my mother and grandmother", I told him.

"Well then only your father is left", He said as I frowned.

"I am hungry", I told him cupping my tummy.

"Didn't you have food when you came?" He asked.

"How rude it is? You took so long to choose the jewelry. It's not my mistake. And it is raining as well. I want to eat something spicy", I told him looking at my phone which was having Pav Bhaji as the home page.

"I can't believe you have food on your home screen", he murmured something like this.

"Well then believe it. Food is love and love is my heart. I love food a lot. Especially, this delicacy", I told him licking my lower lip.

"I need to go back to Chandigarh this evening", He said as I looked at him immediately.

"If I am not wrong it takes nearly 5 hours from here to reach Chandigarh. Why don't you just take a rest?" I asked him.

"It is because I need to complete my task as soon as possible. I have back-to-back meetings lined from tomorrow onwards and Mumma wants me to be free before 10 days of the marriage", He said as I sighed.

"That's a lot", I mumbled. I am not even doing anything and still, I am tired. He is working so hard there and still, he is not whining like me. I am so stupid.
