The only mistake I did in my life was loving you...

-Kimaya

---------------------------

She completed typing her assignment and gave it the last read before yawning. It took so long to complete a single assignment. She wanted to sleep so badly at this moment but her husband wasn't here till now. She was worried why he was this late today. She shut down her laptop before lying on the bed covering herself with the blanket. She looked at the ceiling waiting for him to come back from the office. Her eyes moved around the room to distract her. He looked so stressed these days. He would get irritated very easily and this fact was really troubling her. Was he really done with her? She wondered.

He would feel like anytime she would try to speak to him. He would react with a taunting reply which always made her feel humiliated. She considered that her brain was right on not trusting him. He didn't really deserve it.

Now that she thinks of her father's words. He always told her to never put her trust in any man who is not related to her by blood. Now that she never had a brother, the only person she could trust was her father.

She knew that her father was a rude and hard man to please but when he loved and cared for somebody, he could literally give his life for that person. She was, therefore, very fortunate to be his daughter and to be the one he loves the most though he never says this.

She smiled thinking about the time when he used to scold her when she cried because of the rude words of her classmates. He always told her to be affected by the words of only those people who have the same standards as them.

She was born in a family where blood and family were given the biggest priority and she herself is a person who believes that blood is thicker than water.

She knew she could be wrong but that was the upbringing she got.

Her father always asked her to never get married. He believed in the fact that nobody could treat his princess, the way he treated her. She never heard no for anything though she was asked to never cross the boundaries and fall in love with anybody and she followed the commands properly.

She smiled brightly thinking about her life before marriage.

"May I know who is this person who is making you smile so brightly", she heard which made her turn to the door only to find her husband standing there with anger clearly visible on his face.

She knew that she should stay silent at this moment. If she started arguing back it would lead to an ugly fight. She just shook her head at him before standing up from the bed taking the bag from him.

"Where were you today?", he asked her suddenly making her turn to him with a frown.

"I went to the mall", she spoke looking at him in confusion.

"Right?", he said in a mocking way which wasn't really ignored by her. She continued looking at him as he shook his head removing his tie then removing his watch. There was an angry look in his eyes.

"Do you want to say something?", she asked worried about his attitude.

"If I want to say something, I would say it. I don't need your permission", he growled making her jump at her place. She was taken aback by his attitude.

She just shook her head before walking to the bed picking up her books from his side putting them on her study table along with her pens.

She lied down on her side of the bed covering herself with the blanket looking the other side after putting an alarm in her phone putting it aside on the side table.

He came out after taking a shower changing into his pajama. He found her lying with her back to him making him grit.

"I didn't know that you find me this unattractive that you can't look at me as well", he said in a rude way making her turn to him.

She frowned before sitting back looking at him.

"Kuch hua hai kya? Aap aise baat kyu kar rahe hai? Maine kuch kiya hai?"

"Did something happen? Why are you speaking like this? Did I do something?", she asked as he stared at her with hard eyes.

"Wait", she whispered before moving towards him. His coat was placed on the table. She picked it up before sniffing it. She turned to him who was already looking at her.

"This is smelling like alcohol", she told him in a surprising way as he shrugged his shoulder lying on his side.

"You drink alcohol", she stated as he switched off the lights ignoring her completely.

"I am talking to you", she asked walking to him. He held her wrist pulling her on top of him.

"Don't eat my brain. I am going to do what I want to do", he said making her glare at him before pulling her hands away from him. She picked up her pillow and got another blanket from the closet.

He was looking at her intently as she put the pillow on the sofa lying there.

She was not going to sleep with him now that she knew he got drunk.

"Kimaya, come here", he shouted but she didn't listen to him closing her eyes.

He sat up before coming to the sofa picking her up swiftly making her struggle in his arms.

"Don't touch me", she shouted at him as he threw her on the bed.

"I am telling you, Kimaya for the last time. Don't make me angrier than I already am", he told her holding her throat in a tight but not a suffocating grip.

"Are you really going to behave like this with me? Do you think I am your servant? You can treat me however you want then I warm your bed as well", she asked angrily as his grip increased around her throat.

"You warm my bed? Really? Kimaya, You warm my bed. I am shocked to hear that statement from you", he asked but she realized something. His breath was not stinking as it happens after alcohol. His breath was usual only. The minty flavor of his toothpaste was still evident there but still what if he brushed his teeth.

But still, the way he behaves it doesn't seem like he is drunk.

She looked at him in his eyes and she found a new emotion in his hazel eyes. Pain.

What was going on with this strong man that he was getting so much affected by it? She was confirmed that he didn't even drink a drop of alcohol. His eyes looked confident nor was his breath stinking.

"I'll sleep here", she responded as he sighed in relief which was noticed by her clearly. She shifted to her side as he lied on his side. She switched off her side of the lamp looking at him in the darkness.

"Don't look at me", he snapped at her making her blink a few times. She thought for a while before pulling his arm resting her head on his shoulder. He didn't move to her action nor did he wrap his arms around her. She kept her hand on his chest silently telling him that she was with him.

-----------------------------

She was silently helping her mother-in-law in arranging the pillows in the living room properly on the sofa. She heard footsteps but with work, she couldn't turn around to look at the person. But with time, she felt being watched which made her turn.

She moved backward when she came across her husband's eyes glaring at her. His hands were fisted as he looked at her with anger-filled eyes.

She was getting habituated with his angry look but the way his hands were fisted, she was scared now.

"What happened?", she asked in a whisper as he took predatory steps towards her making her step back.

"I asked you yesterday where were you and your answer was mall. Who was there with you?", he asked making her frown.

"What kind of question is that?", she asked not understanding his meaning.

His glares were making her scared very badly. She could feel something was very wrong with the way he was behaving. She wanted to shout at him for the way, he was embarrassing her but then she was scared of this new side of him.

"I told you I was in the mall. What do you want to know?", she asked him.

"If you were in the mall, then how did you reach the garden", he asked her still maintaining the glare on his face.

"There was an ice-cream seller there", she spoke as he laughed humorlessly.

"Another lie", he spoke as he frowned. The whole family surrounded them.

"What do you mean by that? Why would I lie to you?", she asked looking at him with a frown.

"Lie. You have been lying with me from the first day", he shouted making her flinch back looking at him with shock.

"You were there to eat ice cream right?", he asked before taking closer steps to her. The sound of his shoes moving towards her made her goosebumps rise on her body. He tilted his head to the right looking directly into her eyes making her feel humiliated and scared at the same time.

"This is your ice cream", he shouted as he threw a few pictures harshly on her face making her flinch feeling the corner of those pictures hitting her face.

She looked down only to pick a picture gulping at it.

She doesn't even know when it was clicked. It seemed like she was about to kiss the guy but she didn't even remember her getting this close with anyone. Another one was him sitting beside her as she was smiling looking at her ice cream.

But she remembered one picture. She was looking at the bird in front of her smiling at her while he was standing at a distance smiling at something but it seemed like they were smiling at each other.

Another one was when she slipped a little and he held her elbow looking at her with a smile as she looked down trying to stable herself but it seemed like she was shy.

She looked at him with teary eyes as he was just questioning her on the basis of a few pictures. She felt disgusted that she trusted her at one point even though she never believed that.

She picked all the pictures up before passing each picture to every family member with tears still in her eyes.

"Kimaya don't", her mother-in-law spoke.

"No ma, it is very important when my own husband didn't think for a second before raising his finger on my character why should you all stop. You should know how characterless girl you found for your son", she said as tears trickled down her eyes.

"Your games won't work with me anymore", Randhir declared as she turned to him.

"Games?", she laughed humorlessly at his words before taking a few steps back from him.

"You have your girlfriends hovering over you trying to get you back. I didn't question you why you are having your girlfriend in your office but you didn't take a second before questioning my character", she spoke shaking her head as more tears fall down her cheek.

"You could've asked me once. Once would've been enough but you chose this. Humiliating me in front of your family was something you chose for", she said taking a few steps back as she covered her mouth to stop her sobs.

"You said once that your house is mine and I told you it is not true but you always forced me to believe that. I am so thankful that I never believed in this thing", she whispered in a small voice looking around then her eyes fall on him.

"Because if today my family would've been here my father would've broken your face before you would've questioned my character", she shouted at him as a sob left her mouth.

"If your father would've been here, his head would be lower because of you", Randhir spoke firmly making her stare at him with pain evident in her eyes.

"I don't even want to talk to you. I don't want to speak to a person who lost all respect in my eyes", he said mumbling to himself as she shook her head.

"I feel stupid that I loved you that you made fun of my love breaking my trust into pieces", he said shaking his head.

"Everything you are understanding is not true", she shouted at him shaking her head.

"I have seen everything from my eyes, you don't have to play with me anymore", he told her firmly as she shook her head.

"I told you very clearly that they are not true", she told him in anger.

"Kimaya, now there is no space in my heart and house for a girl like you", he announced making her blink furiously.

"Randhir, stop we can check about it first", his father spoke as he shook his head.

"Bhai, please no", Shantanu spoke coming towards him but Randhir showed him his hand asking him to stop.

"Bhai please don't speak like that with Bhabhi. Can't you see she is crying", Aarush said himself crying as he hugged Kimaya's feet? Kimaya didn't move as she continued looking at her so-called husband.

Randhir took predatory steps towards her holding her wrist pulling her with him. Reema hold Aarush to herself as he cried loudly like a child getting separated from his mother.

"Bhai. No", Shantanu spoke as Randhir pushed her out of the house. Kimaya stumbled on her steps but finally stabilized her steps.

She turned to him taking steps away from him.

"Bhai at least let her say something", Shantanu spoke trying to calm his brother who was glaring at Kimaya.

"No Shantanu. I was a fool till now that I was telling him to trust me. I don't want him to trust me at all. He is nobody to question my character. My god is sitting there. He is the one who knows my heart and is also known to the truth. He knows my purity and I don't need anybody else in my life to know my worth rather than him", Kimaya spoke looking back in Randhir's eyes.

"Just remember one thing, Mr. Randhir Ahlawat, you didn't make me who am I today. I am Kimaya Maan and I am owned by no one neither did I give anybody the right to question me about anything. You pushed me out of your house. You humiliated me like nobody else like this. I'll see how my Kanha would react to this. I'll wait to see how he will do justice to me, my tears, the pain I felt in my heart, and the humiliation I faced today", she told him showing her finger to him. His eyes which were splitting with anger a moment ago were not flashing some instances of worry but he was fast enough to cover it with the fisting of her hands.

"I'll not step in this boundary without you asking for a proper apology from me in front of your family", she told him before turning her back to him walking out of his life wiping her tears away from her face looking at the sky with more tears falling down her eyes. She removed her veil from her head. She wished she never see his face again.

This chapter was very difficult for me to type down.

What do you think about Kimaya's reaction?

And do you think Randhir's behavior towards her was justified?

Till Next Time...
