He didn't know what losing means till the time he lost himself to her.

"Stop please", she begged sobbing as he removed his body from the top of her as she balled her body holding her lower abdomen. Loud sobs escaped her mouth as she cried. 

Her being vulnerable at this point was not at all expected by him.

"Maya", he whispered but she continued crying.

After her marriage, in these two months. She only had periods once that too the next day of her marriage. She was very concerned about this thing. Her periods were always on time. She took pregnancy tests as well but they were negative so she took the doctor's advice.

Hormonal changes in her body after marriage due to sexual relation was the reason for the delay. 

Only today did she get a period with the extremity of pain. She used to have painful periods in the starting but as she neared the age of 18, it started getting lesser but this time her pain was beyond her limit.

But still, she was trying to behave normally and all he was doing was hurting her more than she already was.

"Mumma", she sobbed pressing her lower abdomen.

"Do you want me to call the doctor?", He asked taking her in his arms as she struggled.

"Just go away. Leave me", she sobbed but he denied letting her go rubbing circles on her arm trying to calm her down. She cried in his arms as he massaged her stomach seeing her hand not moving away from the place.

"Please go away", she whispered with half-closed eyes as he wiped her wet cheek.

She didn't even have the energy to speak loudly with the pain in her body. 

"Shh..."He whispered in her ear kissing on the earlobe as the pain decreased a little in half-hour as she fall asleep holding his hand tightly on her stomach.

He stared at her face before kissing her forehead as she sniffed lightly.

He was still worried about what was happening. He thought to speak to her doctor. He picked up her phone from the side table looking at her face. She was never a person to put passwords on her phone. On the other hand, she knew all his passwords. He didn't have anything to hide from her.

He was about to call her when his eyes fall on a certain message.

'These periods would be painful because of the delay and sudden imbalance of hormones. I think you should go for painkillers this time'

He looked at his wife before looking at the message again. She was having her periods. Why didn't she inform him? He could have gotten her things to lessen the pain.

He immediately picked up his phone calling his PA to get an electric hot water bag and some painkillers along with some chocolates and candies.

He sighed lying beside her looking at her wincing from time to time when she moved. He continued massaging her scalp trying to calm her senses.

He had a meeting today but he can't just leave like this when she was in this much pain. The hormone imbalance said it all that the intimacy they had was the reason behind her pain.

He felt upset for hurting her but again this was meant to happen. He should've been more careful noticing that she didn't have her periods for more than a month. 

But he was just too busy with his work and he really thought that she had them when she went to her parent's place. He sighed as the door was knocked. He stood up from his place to see who it was.

"Sir", the servant spoke looking down with the things he asked for.

He asked him to cook Kimaya's favorites today as he walked inside after locking the door before heating the bag putting it on her lower tummy. He stayed with her the whole afternoon taking care of her.

At 5 sharp, Kimaya opened her eyes slowly before blinking feel soft kisses on her forehead.

She looked up to find her husband close to her. Their eyes met. She couldn't miss the softness in his eyes.

"You okay?", he asked as she nodded her head trying to sit back. He covered her properly with the blanket till her shoulder before making her place her head on his shoulder. She closed her eyes feeling at peace.

"You feeling pain anywhere", he asked as she blinked before yawning.

"In my feet", she whispered holding his elbow.

He was about to reach to press her feet when she stopped him.

"No need", she told him putting her legs on top of his.

"You didn't leave?", she asked after a long silence yawning again.

"I couldn't leave like this now can I", he asked back but she didn't answer.

"Maya, have your food now?", he told her.

"No", she stated straight away as he held her chin making her look at him.

"Say that again", he dared her which made her roll her eyes.

"I am not hungry", she told him pouting her lips.

"I am not listening to anything. You are having food and that is final", he told her making her sigh.

He spoke before calling one of the servants to bring the food to their room.

"Why are you so stubborn?", she asked him with irritation covering her face with the blanket.

"I can say the same thing", he said bringing the food for her and feeding her. She made faces all long while chewing the food scrunching her nose at times.

"Why didn't you tell me about your periods", he asked her as she looked at him with a boring look.

"Because I was not comfortable sharing these kinds of things with you", she told him making him laugh.

"I have seen you without clothes and you are not comfortable with telling me about your periods", he mocked making her red hitting him on his shoulder.

"You are so shameful", she told him hiding her face in the blanket after eating food.

He wrapped his arms around her before pulling her close to himself breathing in her slightly tangy scent for a change.

He had been very caring towards her these days which in fact impressed her as well. She felt so admired and loved because of these small acts.

She pulled her jacket closer to herself to feel more warm moving in the park near the mansion. 

There were guards around her but still, she felt free. He had a meeting today so he left early. She was feeling okay for a change after tiring three days and came up to roam around.

Just then her phone started ringing.

"Hello", she responded.

"How are you, Kimi?", she heard her father making her frown.

"Namaste Papa, how are you?", she asked back not really expecting him to call her.

"I am great. Just this house doesn't seem like a real house without you. Everything is so silent", he told her making her smile sadly.

"You are missing me", she spoke as he wiped his tears looking at her childhood pictures.

"I am missing you. I am not ashamed to say that. You are my only child. What do you expect?", he asked making her smile.

"I know and I miss you as well. That's why I didn't want to get married but see here I am. The girl who thought she was never going to married is staying so far from you all", she spoke shaking her head.

"Destiny is unpredictable", he told her making her sigh.

"Is he treating you nicely?", he asked after a long silence.

"He is actually treating me like a queen. But I am just scared to put my trust in him so quickly", she spoke with a sigh not able to make her brain understand and trust this handsome husband of hers blindly.

"I called him a few days ago and he agreed to the fact that he loves you", her father said making her bit her lower lip. It is so weird to speak to your father about something like this.

"It is so weird, Papa. Years ago you didn't even like a male looking at me and now you are telling me that my husband loves me", she spoke making her father laugh.

"This is life, princess. It shows you different colors", he told her making her smile.

"I miss you, Papa", she said even though he was not the best father but still he always took care of her like a princess.

She grew up in a surrounding where she was never scared of any of her family members. She respected them but being scared was not in her dictionary.

"I just hope he continues behaving himself. But if he treats you badly Kimi, you are free to come back any moment. This place will remain your home no matter what. You don't have to ask that question like other women. What place should I call my home?", he told her as she hummed before hanging up.

She heard the sound of throat-clearing which made her turn to see her husband there making her smile widely.

"Who was it?", he asked noticing her smile while attending the call.

"Papa", she answered without even thinking rubbing her hands together.

"Why did you tell him that you love me?", she asked suddenly making him look at her. He interlinked his hands with her before walking on the path.

"Because he was being very worried for his princess's safety", he told her making her smile.

"You know Kimaya if in the future we have a daughter, I would make sure she won't feel that her father is a failure in any sense", he told her making her look at him in adoration.

"What if we have a son?", she asked him as he looked at her before wrapping his hand around her shoulder making her lean on his shoulder.

"I would make sure he respects me as a father and look up to be like me", he told her as she smiled.

"I am sure he would do so", she told him enjoying the warmth emitted by his strong arms.

"When do you want us to have a baby?", he asked her suddenly making her look up at him to find him lost in his thoughts.

"I don't know. I have never really given a thought to it. Months ago, I used to consider myself a baby as well", she spoke making him nod.

"But you are grown up now, Maya. We both have responsibilities. No matter how much I try to protect you from the burdens of responsibilities being the eldest daughter-in-law of Ahlawat mansion, you will have them on your shoulders sooner or later", he told her making her silent.

"Why did you choose me", she asked him after thinking for a while.

"Because I saw the shine in your eyes. The moment I laid eyes on you, I knew you were meant to be mine", he told her making her smile shyly.

"You asked for everything I could give you easily. I thought I can never love in my life but in a few days only you made me crazy for you", he told her as she rubbed her cheeks feeling the warmth already.

"I don't know what you are talking about", she mumbled pressing her cheek on his shoulder.

"You know exactly what I am talking about, Maya? Don't you?", he asked caressing her hair as she shook her head hiding her face in his chest.

"I just wish we stay like this forever", she said making him look at her.

"Like what?", he asked not getting what she meant.

"Happy and content in life. Where there are no secrets between us", she answered as he thought deeply. Only if she knew how many secrets are hidden from her. Not because he wanted to hurt her but because he wanted to save her from the cruelty of the world. 

But the main question was? Will he be successful in saving her from the world when the real person he should protect her from is he himself? The only man who can destroy their peace is he.
