Chapter 18: Under the Full Moon

Even tied down, she was intimidating.

Zero had infiltrated a compound that supplied Reaper and helped him make the wolf suppressant drug he used on her. However, this small gang wasn't the only manufacturer in this vast world. Zero needed to find the supplier, and to do that, she needed to begin her hunt once again.

She sat on an old chair in the middle of the warehouse, her arms tied behind her. There was a bulb hanging over her, which flickered every now and then, but even without its help she could see the sixteen men around her. Some were wary of her and some gloated that they successfully captured her.

Zero didn't attempt to break herself free... yet. She had no need for these thugs around her. She wanted the leader of this group. And right about now, he or she should have gotten the message of her arrival and would stupidly make their way to her. Only then, Zero would make her move and attack.

"Is it true?" A man mustered the courage and spoke. The others shushed him, but he still insisted to continue. "Is it true that you came back from the dead?"

Zero lifted her head and her long hair followed with her. She knew from under her lashes that her blue eyes had gone silver as the moon. The men around her inched back even though she was clearly the one tied down. She didn't answer him, she didn't need to. She would let the world imagine stories about her return and let them scare themselves with their tales.

Suddenly, the far garage door opened and three cars rushed inside the warehouse. Zero knew then that the leader had arrived. And she was proven right, when a fat geezer got out of the car with a tailored suit on, his neck and wrists were heavy with gold and so were his stumpy fingers. The man had sunglasses on even though it was dark out and around them.

Zero rolled her eyes and hoped he didn't get too close to her. She didn't want his stench ruining the leather of her jacket.

"So, you dared to trespass on my territory," his voice was thick and drawled, it was clear that he was a heavy smoker.

Abruptly, a phone rang in the dark.

"Hold on, it's mine," were Zero's first words. "Answer it, will you-"

"Er-" the man stupidly enough picked up the phone off the table and put it on speaker near her.

"Zero, sweetheart," a charming voice streamed through, that made her smile right away. It was her mate. "When will you be coming back?"

"In a few minutes," said Zero and her captors gaped.

"No, you won't!" The man yelled shaking all the gold dripping off his beefy neck.

"Who's that?" asked Severin. "Are you with another man, honey?"

"Just someone I'm going to kill," said Zero.

"Elijah is with you, right?" Severin asked.

"Who the hell is Elijah?" The people around her asked.

A figure strode out of the dark and crept behind the sloth of a leader. "Boo-" the fat man's eyes bulged out and Elijah had his arms around his neck holding him hostage. His goons didn't know what to do except back away.

Zero loosened her hands out of the ropes and got to her feet. She put the phone on the chair. "Just give me a minute, honey," she announced.

Severin, on the other side of the line, stood hearing the sound of struggle and screams. "Our guests will be arriving soon."

"I won't be late!" shouted Zero.

"I know, you're very punctual despite killing people all the time."

"I would never be late for this," she said.

Severin smiled- she could feel it. "Honey, doesn't it feel like killing Reaper's gang blessed our wedding," he jested.

Zero chuckled at that. She grabbed her phone and put it to her ear; "Give me a second, Severin," she said before she went to where Elijah held down their target.

"I'm not telling you shit," he spat at her.

Zero looked into the man's pitiful eyes. "Then you die," she said before she took out her gun and shot his head.

He gaped and cried out in fear, only to realize that none of the bullets met his head, she had tricked him. "I'm telling you, I don't know anything," he said.

She looked at Elijah. "This one doesn't have any ammo," she said. Elijah took her gun and passed his to her. "Thank you."

"Look, I only do what my bosses tell me," he said hastily.

"I want names," said Zero.

The man shook his head and his chains too. "I don't know names," he said.

"Where's the next hideout from this one?" Elijah asked then.

The man hesitated before he gave in; "I only know one other and it's in New Orleans. I told you what you wanted, so let me free-"

Zero released the trigger and the next five bullets met the man's skull and Elijah the body fall on the floor near her feet. She grabbed the phone from her pocket. "I'm done," she told Severin. "I'll be home soon."

"See you at the altar," he teased before he cut the phone.

Zero walked to the front gates and Elijah joined her side. "So, is the next mission to New Orleans?" he asked her.

Zero looked out into the dark street and the cloudy night sky. "No," she said. "The next mission is to London."

Elijah looked at her confused. "Why London?" he asked.

"Vacation," she said. "I'm getting married after all and in desperate need of some pampering." Elijah peeked a smile as they made their way to separate motorcycles.

Zero put her helmet on before she stretched her leg over the bike that Severin gifted her. She turned the engine on and let the roar of the bike bring excitement to her heart. She released the brake and off they both went down the long road back home again.

There was still time before midnight hit, but Zero couldn't help but anticipate when the moon would reveal itself.

Would Maya come to her wedding? she questioned as she rode home. Zero didn't want to disappoint herself by thinking that maybe her goddess would arrive.

Even though, she told Severin to keep the wedding small, it definitely wasn't the case when she arrived at their house. The whole area was bustling with people getting a large tent set up in the yard and hundreds of chairs were being set up.

Zero drove down the path and parked in front of the garage, when her eyes caught Tom and Wayne coordinating the massive white roses with the golden drapes.

"Wow, Severin wasn't kidding when he said that he wanted a big wedding," Elijah said.

Zero removed her helmet and caught the multiple statues and ice sculptures too. There was a chocolate fountain near the massive bar that was being loaded up for all the guests.

"Oh god," she brooded.

Elijah snickered behind her, which earned him a glare from her. "Hey, don't glare at me," he said. "You're the one that gave him the freedom to do this all."

Zero pushed her hair from over her shoulder. "I know," she muttered.

She walked past Elijah into her busy house, that was lively with hundreds of employees in black suits and dresses getting the house ready for the night. Even though, the wedding was outside, the house was still decorated for the occasion. That was Severin for you, he was extravagant no matter the event.

"Zero!" A boisterous voice called out for her and she didn't even need to turn to know who it was. Wayne Salvatore ran to her with open arms and he grabbed her with excitement bubbling around him. She was squeezed in his arms and she couldn't help but laugh at him.

He pulled back and she finally saw his indigo eyes. "You need to get cleaned up," he said. "I'm excited to see you in your dress."

"I was just heading up there now," she told him.

Wayne turned to Elijah. "You get going too," he said. "I put your suit in your room-" Wayne turned towards the door- "Tom! Son!" Tom heard his father's voice and looked back. "Come here!" Tom came and he saw them then and smiled. "Help Elijah out with his suit."

"Sure," Tom said.

"I'm fine," Elijah interjected, but Tom was already pulling him upstairs.

Wayne hooked his arm over Zero's. "I'll walk you," he said and they went to her meditation room that was now set up for this day, since her bedroom was a little too small.

Wayne opened the door for her and they walked inside to where Maya's sculpture sat. She was glad that Severin chose this room for her, it felt appropriate. There was a large mirror standing on the side and a table with champagne, cupcakes and chocolates. Although, Zero's eyes went to the large package wrapped in white laid out on the counter.

Zero was lying if she said that she wasn't a little nervous now. She never dreamed of this day in her life, never planned it nor did she think it would ever happen. But here she was, standing in front of a wedding dress that was made for her.

"What are you thinking?" Wayne asked.

Zero felt a smile on her face, it was happening a lot nowadays. "I was thinking that your son is too good for me," she admitted.

Wayne chuckled. "If he was here he would disagree," he said.

Zero turned and sat on the table. "Are you really okay with this?" she asked.

"This is your hundredth time asking, Zero," he said, "and my answer never changed."

Zero met her friend's warm gaze, that undoubtedly loved her just like his son did. She reached the chain that hung around her neck and pulled it out from under her suit. A long chain exposed and the ring Severin gave her hung on it. A single oval shaped diamond sat on a silver band, it twinkled in the light as a baby blue sapphire. She took it off the chain and pushed it over her finger, it was heavier than she remembered.

"It looks beautiful on you," said Wayne.

Zero put her hand on his and squeezed it. "Thank you," she said.

Wayne tilted his head. "For what?" he asked.

"For accepting someone like me in your family," she tried so hard not to let her voice tremble, but it was hard when all she saw was warmth in Wayne's eyes. He never judged her for her past, never doubted her and never let anyone tarnish her name. She wasn't anything to him yet he treated her like his own.

Wayne put his warm hand on her cheek and tears welled up in both their eyes. "You were already a part of my family when you saved me," he said before he hugged her. "You're a daughter of the Salvatore household, so don't ever think you're alone now."

Zero hugged him back. "Sorry, I'm ruining your suit with my stupid tears," she sniffled.

Wayne wiped her cheeks for her. "And if Severin ever treats you wrong, you come straight to me, I'll set him straight," he said.

Zero laughed now despite the tears. "He would never treat me wrong," she said. "He's too sweet for that."

Suddenly, the large doors burst open.

"Zero! Why aren't you dressed yet?" astounded Veronica Bacardi, her thick brunette hair spilled down her back in bouncy curls. She adorned a pink gown that was long and elegant.

Zero quickly wiped her tears and faced Veronica. "I was just about to take a shower," she said.

Czar joined them too, he held his hand out to Wayne. "Congratulations on the union, Mr. Salvatore," he said politely.

"Oh Czar, you were always so tense," Wayne chided. He went over and hugged him. "Let's go take some pictures while Veronica helps Zero get ready." He dragged the poor man away who was always camera shy.

"Your guests will be arriving any minute now," Veronica chided as she raked her sharp gaze over Zero's appearance. "Your hair isn't even combed. Oh god, is that blood on your shirt?"

Zero's eyes widened. "No, it's um- ketchup," she lied.

Veronica put her hands on her hips. "Don't lie to me," she said. "Now, go take a shower and I'll do your hair and makeup."

Zero went without delay and even in the shower Veronica was nagging away telling her to wash repeatedly under her nails and get the blood off her hands. Zero would've done that regardless, but it was fun to be scolded like a child.

Zero finished off the shower and put a robe on before she stepped out again. Her eyes immediately went to the windows where there was no sign of the moon despite the dark sky blanketing over the property.

"It'll be out soon," Veronica reassured. "Don't you worry."

Zero came over to the chair where Veronica had set up everything. She didn't know what to expect, but thankfully, Veronica was not only quick with her hands but also skilled. She had tied up Zero's long hair in under an hour, adorning it with roses and glittery hair pins.

From the loud commotion outside, Zero knew right away who had arrived. The doors burst open and the Centauri pack ran inside.

"You guys never knock," schooled Hailey who was standing with her mate. Both of them matching in red. They were quite the lovely pair and their son was in his father's arms with a suit on too.

"We don't need to because Zero loves us," said Viola as she ran over in tall heels that matched her violet dress.

Zero got up from the chair and Viola had already wrapped her tight in her embrace. "Glad you guys could make it," she said.

"Are you kidding," astounded Viola. "We'd never miss this!"

Azura followed after and she looked like quite the badass in a velvet black suit. "Congratulations, Zero," she said as she hugged her too.

"You aren't even dressed," astonished Vincent who came in after with the Drakov twins.

"I was just about to be when all of you came," said Zero.

Vincent did not approve, since he was always fashionable ready for any occasion. Even now, he was dressed in a tailored black tuxedo. River and Ryder stood in dark suits too that made it harder to tell them apart, even for her.

"Good you guys came in time," said Veronica. "I'm going to need all the help I can get."

"And we're here to help," beamed Hailey as she came over and hugged Zero and Veronica too.

"Can't do it without champagne though," added Azura who was already pouring a glass for everyone.

Klaus walked into the room with King and Bone by his side. All of them are perfectly dressed in dark tuxedos and it was only King that didn't have a tie or vest. He wore a stylish suit with a white shirt unbuttoned showing his tattoos.

"Congratulations, Zero," Klaus came up to her with a reassuring hug. "Don't be nervous, everything will be perfect for tonight."

"I hope so too," she hugged him back.

King came up hugged Zero with Klaus between them. "Congrats," he said. "Never thought someone as scary as you would get married. Don't kill the poor guy."

Zero smacked King's shoulder and pushed him off her. "Go before I kill you," she growled.

Bone was standing tall with a bag in his hand. "I brought a little gift for you," he said privately.

Zero looked down in the bag and saw a bouquet of white roses. They were blooming vibrantly in the bag and their aroma wafted calming her down. She looked at Bone's kind eyes. "Thank you," she said. "They are beautiful."

"Congratulations and I hope you have a wonderful night," he said before he moved back to King's side.

"Alright, everyone calm down, we don't want to freak out the bride," announced Sabrina who appeared brimming with anticipation.

"We won't freak her out," added Ryder. "Besides, I think we're all pretty calm right now."

"I'm not, I'm ready to party all night," said Azura.

"Me too!" exclaimed Viola.

"Sorry about them," Gabriel said to Zero. "They are insane and I can't stop them once they're set loose."

"We heard that!" shouted Vincent.

"You were supposed to idiot," remarked Ryder, and they started to bicker back and forth.

Gabriel and Sabrina were both dressed to perfection, standing tall as if they stepped out of a magazine cover. The alpha of the Centauri pack wore a dark navy suit, which popped against the golden gown that his stunning mate wore tonight.

They came up to Zero together. "Congratulations," Sabrina beamed a smile and hugged her. "We're so happy for you."

"Thank you," she said.

"And don't worry, I will get them out of your way," Gabriel indicated to the mess behind him.

Zero downed the champagne in the glass.

"Alright, all of you, out the door," Gabriel warned and ushered the crowd out. But of course, the ladies all stayed who were eager to help.

However, the peace didn't last long, when the doors opened again and this time the Iron Blood pack arrived. Isaiah and Ashley's daughter Evelyn ran inside, Zero bent down to accept the child's eager hug.

"Oh, you almost toppled me over, Evelyn," jested Zero.

Evelyn's small arms looped around her neck. "I heard you're getting married and get to wear a princess dress," she seemed more excited about the dress.

"Do you want to see the dress, Evelyn?" Sabrina came up and took her to see the gown and from the child's scream it was clear that she approved.

Ashley walked up to Zero in a radiant silver dress. "I can't believe you're getting married," she astounded before she hugged her. "I'm so happy for you and Severin."

"Thanks, Ashley," she said.

Isaiah stood tall in a grey suit that matched his steel gaze. "Congrats," he said. "Are you nervous?"

"Not really," said Zero. "I just want to see him already."

Isaiah peeked a smile. "Trust me, I get it," he said as he looked over at his wife and daughter. "I was the same."

Rosalie, Adrik and their daughter Vivian all came to Zero next. This was when Zero really saw how Rosalie and Vivian had changed Adrik to be at a calmer state. He didn't look uncomfortable to be here or around others. He was dressed in a dark suit and Rosalie stood by his side wearing a black silk dress too. Vivian was in a matching frock with Evelyn, both the girls had blue dresses on and their hair was braided the same way too.

"Congratulations, Zero," said Rosalie as she hugged her.

"Thank you," said Zero before she bent down and met Vivian's kind gaze.

"Congratulations, Zero," Vivian's voice was soft. "Your hair looks very pretty."

"So does yours," said Zero before she hugged the adorable pup.

"Severin really went all out for this," Ronin remarked as the rest of the boys entered too. "Gotta hand it to the man."

"I see that bar outside and I am so ready for it," added Lazarus. While Ronin decided to wear black, Lazarus was dressed in a beige suit that went nicely with his blond hair and beard.

Marcello and Zeiden were in matching red and black tuxedos. "This is so exciting," said Zeiden. "We never thought this day would come."

"Right, Zero coming back from the dead was more believable than when that wedding invitation arrived at our house," remarked Marcello.

"Are you done?" Zero retorted.

Marcello laughed at her before he came over and hugged her. "Congrats."

She patted his back. "Thanks," she smiled and couldn't believe how much this man had changed over the years.

"We should head down to our table," said Lazarus. "I'm starving and need food."

The Iron Blood pack left and they took Vivian and Evelyn who were eager to play outside and were waiting for Dimitri. Ashley and Rosalie stayed but they warned the pups not to get dirty, not that they were listening any more than the men were.

The alpha female of the Crimson North pack walked into the room. Evangeline looked absolutely radiant in an emerald green gown and with her mate by her side. Zachariah North was in a black tuxedo standing with his brother Victor and his adorable son Dimitri who was growing up more and more every day.

"You haven't gotten dressed," astounded Evangeline. "Ladies, do you know what time it is. We're going to be late!"

Zachariah came to Zero with a charming smile on his lips. "Congrats on the wedding," he said. "You must be excited."

Zero hugged him and his wife who was stressing over the schedule. "Thank you for coming," she said before she bent down to Dimitri. "You look so handsome, Dimitri."

He blushed at her compliment. "Thanks, my mom forced it on me" he said looking at his suit, before he went to Hailey and greeted her too.

Victor was in a dark grey suit that really brightened his silver hair and piercings. "Congrats," he said to her.

"Thank you," she said, when suddenly, Alexander Waldorf and his brother Vadik Waldorf appeared inside the room.

"Glad you two could make it," said Zero.

"Wouldn't miss it for the world," added Alec. His blue eyes matched his navy-blue velvet suit. Unexpectedly, he brought a bag to her and presented it with a small smile.

Everyone was eager to see what was inside. "You didn't have to bring a gift," she said.

"It's nothing big," he said. "Vadik and I just wanted to give you something."

Zero grabbed a long box and opened it after unravelling the black ribbon. Two silver daggers sat on a crimson red pillow. The detail work on the handle was impeccable, and she had never see such intricate design before. At the bottom of the daggers were two rubies gleaming as they caught the light. And just above was her name engraved with Severin's alongside it.

"I love it," she said as she put them down and hugged the brothers. "Thank you."

"You lost your other two, so we thought we'd get you new ones," Vadik told her.

Zero squeezed more tightly now. "Thank you," she bit the tears back in her eyes. What the hell made her so emotional today.

"Zero, you should really put that dress on now," urged Sabrina.

Ashley ushered all the men out and told them where the others were hanging out.

"We're all eager to see what you look like in it," added the rest of them as they gossiped away and drank champagne.

Zero went to the connected room to change into the heavy gown, that was the colour of the midnight blue sky tonight. As she stripped out of the robe, she looked at her body through the mirror and saw her new body. She couldn't get used to seeing herself without all the scars she had grown up with. There was nothing spoiling her skin anymore, she never thought that was possible. The scar on her back that haunted her of that night in the alley was gone too. She had been set free of that nightmare finally. Now, on her bare back was nothing but a small crescent moon on her shoulder, like it was a token of her goddess- it still made Zero smile when she saw it.

"Do you need help?" Evangeline asked.

Zero presented the corseted back to her. "Yes, please," she said.

Evangeline was quick to loop the silk threads into the holes and secured the corset together. "You look beautiful," she praised. "It really was made for you."

Zero smiled as she looked in the mirror at her own reflection. She stood in a deep blue gown, with a corseted waist but the skirt was full and heavy with embroidery and jewels that trailed all the way down to the train behind her.

"I didn't think Severin would pick this colour," she shared.

Evangeline gaped behind her. "Severin did?" she said.

Zero nodded. "He picked the dress," she said. "This is the first time I even saw it."

Evangeline laughed. "He's perfect for you," she said.

A knock interrupted them. A head popped inside and it was Sabrina grinning; "You received a gift from your husband-to-be," she teased.

Zero followed the girls back outside to where they were all huddled together. A large black case sat on the counter with a note attached on top. Zero opened the note and saw familiar handwriting that she knew belonged to her mate.

A wedding gift for the most beautiful bride in the world. I hope you wear it when you come to me at the alter tonight under the full moon with the one who reunited us.

Zero opened the velvet case and all she could do was stare in awe.

"Oh my god," the girls gasped in shock.

"Is that real?" astounded Viola.

"Those are more diamonds than I can count," added Azura.

A layered necklace sat on a stand that was entirely made up of diamonds. Zero didn't even know where to touch it from without breaking it.

"Put it on," urged Hailey.

Veronica was right behind Zero as the girls all grabbed the heavy piece of jewelry and secured it on her neck. The diamonds hugged her neck and around her chest letting no skin show from under it.

"It's perfect," said Ashley as she clapped her hands together in excitement.

Zero stared at the necklace, that looked like it melted down her body and was made from starlight. The pure shine of the stones reminded her of Severin and how he always made her feel special.

"Where's my phone?" she asked in a hurry.

The girls looked around and Ashley grabbed it off Zero's leather jacket. "What are you doing?" they asked.

But Zero was already calling her mate and it was answered in seconds. "I need to see you," she said.

"It's bad luck to see the bride before the wedding," he reminded.

She rolled her eyes at that. "Then keep your eyes closed," she said. "Meet me in my office right now."

She was running out of the room before she could cut the phone or hear what the ladies were shouting behind her.

Zero saw the door to her office already open and she knew that Severin was already inside. But the lights were off and only the night light illuminated the space. She saw Severin standing in a clean white tuxedo staring out the balcony.

"What did you need to see me for?" he asked as he heard her footsteps approaching him.

She came right up behind him. "Severin," she called out. "I love you." The air thickened and she saw his breath falter.

"Pfft-" he laughed.

"Why are you laughing?" she astounded.

"Because you're so cute," he turned with his eyes closed, he reached over and his hand touched her cheek when she leaned forward to him. "Meet me at the altar. I'll give my answer there."

She raised a brow. "I want it now," she demanded.

"No," he said.

"And why not?" her tone said that she was irked, but Severin was the last person to get intimidated of it.

"You made me wait. So, now, you have to wait-" he quickly left the room leaving her astounded by herself.

Damn him, but shit she still loved that man despite his constant desire to tease her at any chance he got.

Zero put her hand over her heart, that was beating abnormally fast. She turned and faced the vast fields of her territory. The wedding guests had arrived and the celebrations were about to begin.

"Maya," she whispered. "Thank you for giving me my family."

The thick clouds separated and that was when the full moon revealed itself to the world. Zero's breath was caught in her throat when she saw the beauty of her goddess shine through the thick beams of light. The night sky was glorious and clear with all the stars dancing with the moon. Maya was here, Zero could feel it in her bones.

Zero made her way downstairs to get this wedding ceremony completed. She was ready to be with her mate until the end of time.

Zero was standing at the back doors, when suddenly, a presence was felt behind her. It was Elijah. She recognized his soft fragrance and breath anywhere. She turned to him and he stood handsomely in a tuxedo. This was the first time she had seen him in a suit and it looked perfect on his physique.

"You look beautiful," Elijah said to her shyly as he joined her.

"I was just about to say that to you," she held her hand out and he took it.

"Do you like the gift?" he asked her as he gestured to the necklace on her. "Severin prepared it weeks ago."

"I love it," she said. "He really knows how to charm me."

Elijah smiled with her. "He'd be glad to hear that," he admitted.

Zero sensed the tension in Elijah as his kind eyes went to the field where everyone was seated. "What is it?" she asked.

"I know we're not blood," said Elijah, "and we've only known each other for over a month. But you saved me and brought me back to life, Zero. So, will you let me walk you down the aisle?"

Zero smiled proudly. "I was waiting all day for you to ask me," she said.

Elijah's eyes gleamed with a sheen of tears. He propped his arm out for her. She hooked it over and they smiled, as they both went to Severin who shined even brighter for both of them.

The wedding broke out into a rowdy celebration with music and drinks and tons of food. Everyone had moved onto the dance floor as others were eating dinner.

Severin went around the tables and made sure everyone was eating and enjoying themselves, but it wasn't hard for wolves to not have a good time when there was a large buffet spread and an open bar. All the packs were gathered at one table and were as loud as they could get.

"Look who's not single anymore," Tom came up to him.

Severin rolled his eyes at his brother's tone. "Just wait until it's your turn," he remarked and his little brother laughed.

Someone came up behind him, and he sensed his mate right away. He turned and faced Zero who stood radiantly in the dark gown, that he knew would be perfect for her. She was as if the goddess touched the earth and walked amongst them. His eyes went to the necklace he gifted her and she wore it proudly.

"A dance," she held her hand out to him this time.

Severin remembered when he asked her for a dance the first time they met. However, there wasn't any doubt in them now or any curiosity of what he'd do. He put his hand into hers. She took him to the floor and they fell into position elegantly. This time however Severin felt his heart racing even faster than the first time. He didn't know if it was because Zero wasn't avoiding his gaze or if it was because she had confessed her love over and over again.

Severin rested his hand on her narrow back and he had her other hand gently as her hand rested on his shoulder. As the soft music began... so did they and it was like he melted into her fragrance as she stepped closer into his space.

Severin felt himself breathless from her beauty tonight. There was no one like her that stared at him with such powerful eyes. Although, even now, she let him lead her through the dance like she did the first time. She never resisted when it came to them and he loved that about her.

"I'm surprised that you agreed to dance with me," jested Zero, her voice was only for his ears.

"I felt obliged since you're the legendary rogue alpha," he remarked. Not being able to help himself, Severin's lips curled up and so did hers. He cleared his throat trying to contain himself. "You find my reason amusing?" he asked.

"Yes," she whispered.

"Care to explain?" he asked.

"I thought I intrigued you," she laughed and he swore he felt his heart skip a beat.

When he spun her around and gracefully pulled her back into his arms, he told her softly; "You intrigued me from the day I met you."

Zero's smile brightened as she looked at him. "That wasn't what I said to you," she reminded. Finally, her piercing eyes met his dark gaze, stirring his heart and he fell for her again.

Severin's eyes trailed from her eyes to her lips. "Doesn't matter what you said to me then," he said. "I knew that you'd fall for me."

Zero shook her head and he kissed her sweetly before she could say anything more.

"Zero! Severin!" Tom shouted in a hurry. They both looked at him and he seemed out of breath. "You need to see this quickly."

Zero and Severin rushed out from the tent and reached the field when they saw where the crowd had gathered.

In the night sky above, the stars were streaming through the vast space. Thousands of colours painted the dark blue and it appeared as if the stars were diamonds. The full moon stood proudly in the middle with all the stars streaming through the sky and it felt as if Maya blessed the wedding herself.

Severin looked to his mate and she was lost in the magic of the stars and moon. He put his arms around her and the night came to an end with a gift from their most important guest, Maya.
