Mountains

A poem about nature and how it relates to reality.

Cry,
I hear a child cry.
To frown,
The place we all drown.
Once I heard Mary say,
"There's no point in today."
"Give it a chance," said Bobbi Jean.
"Life can be full of beans,
But that doesn't mean
We give into the scene."

But if I were a mountain,
Peace would reside in these lands.
If I were a mountain,
I'd take it in my hands.
If I were a mountain,
Time would hold no power.
If I were a mountain,
Destruction would come for the tower.
Not a flower would cower
In the hands of the mountains.

Fire
Comes upon us.
Flames
Leave us to burn.
I once heard the words,
"Come home,
There's no point in being alone."
But I ignore the advice,
So I say goodbye
To my Mountain...
Mountain of rain,
Mountain of pain.

But if I were the mountain,
Peace would preside in these lands.
If I were a mountain,
I'd take it in my hands.
If I were a mountain,
Time would hold no power.
If I were a mountain,
Destruction would come for the tower.
Not a flower would cower
In the hands of the mountains.

What if we were all mountains,
Happy in our stead.
A place where we could lay our roots.
A place to make our beds.

We are mountains
To those we love.
We are mountains,
A gift from above.
We are mountains.
As real as it seems,
If only in our dreams.

Brings back the dirt.
Brings back the rocks
Bring back the sky.
Close out the dark.
Bring back the mountains.
Bring back the mountains.
