Glitter Girl
I wrote this for a friend who died of a drug overdose.
She sparkles through the night,
Her happy senses demanding sight.
Her perky demeanor taking shape
Our glitter angel showing us the way.
Hail to the glitter girl,
Though she sings off key.
Beautiful face,
Beautiful way,
But with no poise, she stands with glee.
Lilacs of spring holds not a candle.
Soft showers of rain, she is their idol.
Her laughter brings joy and sighs of content.
When asked who she is, she makes not a comment.
She is the glitter girl, more sparkling than gold.
Her opinions are many, so I am told.
She lives among the dead, surrounded by her own splendor.
She is here for pleasure, forever the dazzler.
She has one direction,
And that is the future.
The last of the glitter girls,
Freedom be her suitor.
