"Say aaah" Dev said as Sonakshi glared at him.

"I am not a small kid Dev. I have hands and I can eat by myself!" she whined but Dev was adamant on feeding her.

"I know you are not but currently, you are behaving like one! Who eats like this? Even the puppy next door eats larger portion of food than you!" Dev taunted, forcing another portion of food into her mouth.

"Did you just compare me with that puppy?" Sonakshi glared as Dev gave her a tight-lipped smile and walked away to the kitchen.

Sonakshi followed him and admired how he kept the kitchen neater than the times when she was cooking. She immediately frowned and stood infront of him, just when he was about to wash the dishes.

"Dev..... after you go back to work, the only job I have here is cooking and cleaning since laundry is only for two people....and I don't consider it as a work. You hired a person to clean the house and the only thing left is to cook. If you are doing that too, then what am I supposed to do?" she asked with her hands crossed across her chest.

"So what babe? I want you to rest and-"

"Rest? Did you hear what the doctor said? I am supposed to do light exercises as much as possible. I am not supposed to be lazy-ing around the house...." She pouted as Dev quickly pecked her and smiled.

"You are not being lazy. You are going to the market early in the morning and even though I ask you not to do much, you are still doing the household chores. As for me, today is my off-day. So I am going to do all the work here and you are not supposed to stop me." He said and instantly carried her in bridal style.

He walked to the living area and placed her in the sofa before cozying up with her.

"I love you...." He said kissing her cheeks while she laid on his shoulder. They silently watched the television which was playing some random movie on the screen.

"Dev......"

"Hmm......" he hummed as he intertwined his fingers with hers.

"I wanted to ask you something........"

"Carry on..."

"Um....er.............can I go to my parent's place when my delivery date is nearing?" she asked carefully as she felt his fingers going still. Nevertheless, he masked his emotions and looked at her softly.

"Why?...........I mean....this sudden decision..." he asked.

"Dev.........maa called me. She wants me to come home....and I can't even deny her this time." Sonakshi spoke as she tried to read Dev's expression.

"Sona........I can't lie and say that I am okay with it. If it was up to me, I really don't want you to go. You can go there and come back......I can talk to maa about it. Staying here without you for 2 months will be so difficult for me. If you want, I can take leave and stay with you for the last 2 months before your delivery date?" Dev asked as Sonakshi could feel the sadness in his voice.

"Dev.......it's not about me. My mother wants me to stay there. It's her small wish. She wants to pamper me and spoil me for her own satisfaction. What other reasons do you think she will call me for? It's just that........it's my first pregnancy and maybe my mum could give me some guidance..." Sonakshi trailed of as Dev just sighed.

"Oh...ok" he said as his gaze trailed back to the screen.

"Awww Dev please don't look so sad" Sonakshi said as she quickly sat on his lap, straddling him, "Please don't look so cute and make it difficult for me. How will I go if you keep on giving me such faces?" she asked pulling his cheeks as he pulled her closer and caressed her stomach.

"Hmm....okay whatever. But until then, you are under my supervision. I will spoil you and my baby as much as I can. And this time, there is no one stopping me!" Dev said kissing her.

As days passed, Sonakshi was growing overly fond of Dev and his attention. She slowly started to change her mind of staying at her parent's place as she felt bad for Dev. Leaving him alone in his house for two months would really be mean of her so she had to start to think of a better solution.

In the meantime, Sonakshi started visiting Dev's parent's place whenever she was free and during that small pan of time, Ishwari was able to open up about her feelings to Sonakshi and get close to her. Ishwari saw Sonakshi from a different side and always confessed how sorry she was. Ishwari also managed to explain to Sonakshi, why she had developed such a hatred and how Nisha always brainwashed her by telling evil things about Sona.

Soon Sonakshi was able to see the genuine care and concern in Ishwari's eyes although it took her time to trust her back again. Ishwari would often give her guidance on how to take care of herself during pregnancy and cook for her traditional meals which were healthy and good for Sona's baby. However, Dev did not approve Sonakshi being close with Ishwari as he still feared that she may do something which would harm her. After all, he had lost his trust on his mum.

However, after Sonakshi's assurance, Dev started being calmer and more composed. Even his anger had decreased over time. Sonakshi would often try to bring him back to the normal and loving person he always was. She knew that the hard, stubborn and arrogant Dev was just a mask he created when he was going through a difficult phase. Through time, she helped him to overcome his pain.

There were days he spent just crying on her lap, telling how much he endured when he thought that he almost lost her. He would confess to her about how he always thought that giving up on life always seemed easier than to live with the guilt. But those days, the only motivation he had was Sonakshi's love which stopped him from doing all those things which he had intended. He believed that she would come back to him one way or another. However, the process of enduring the pain, made him a cold and heartless person.

Sonakshi constantly told him that he was the strongest person she had ever seen because he chose the right decision unlike her. She had decided to suicide just for a small separation, but he decided to stay strong even when he thought that he had lost her. She motivated him and encouraged him to see himself as the person whom she had always loved.

She wanted him to be back. She wanted the loving and caring guy to be back. She wanted the Dev, who always worshipped his family and the Dev who always took care of others needs before his, to be back. She wanted to cure and heal him.... Even though she knew it wasn't easy, she wanted to try. For him.

(During the 7th month of Sonakshi's pregnancy)

Sonakshi was engrossed in finding the newspaper while Dev got ready. Finally Dev had decided that letting Sonakshi to stay at her home was the best decision since his work load had increased a lot since the past few months. He also wanted to make sure that he was free when the child was eventually born, so he wanted to finish his work as fast as possible and be with Sonakshi to enjoy parenthood.

"Dev..........I can't find the today's newspaper!!!" she whined as Dev rolled his eyes.

"Look Sona. You have exactly twenty minutes to get ready. You don't need to worry about missing out the news on the paper as they won't be needing your help in the parliament tomorrow!" Dev scowled as Sonakshi looked at him with wide eyes.

"Did you just make fun of me, reading newspaper?" she asked as Dev looked at her, confused.

"What?? Do you know that we have to go to your house today? Your dad keeps calling me and if he calls me one more time, I am going to blame you for making me late.....and look at you! You haven't even tie your hair properly.....come here" Dev said as he rushed towards her and undid her clips.

"Dev.........." She said while Dev was busy tying her hair.

"Hmm.??"

"Devvvvv" she said as her hands wounded over his waist.

"Yes beautiful..."

"Are you sure I should go? I mean...."

"You took the decision of going.... Now why are you asking me?" Dev asked as his eyebrow furrowed in confusion.

"Aren't you gonna miss me?" she pouted and Dev gave her the sexiest smile he could ever give.

"Nah I am not! I am going to visit you every day.... Why will I miss you? And leaving you at your parent's place is the wisest decision I have ever made, because now, I don't have to worry anymore when I am at office. At least I know that someone is with you all the time and-"

"Dev I don't want to leave" Sonakshi's voice was so soft that he almost thought that it was his mind voice.

"What?"

"I want you..." she said as he gulped looking at her. He couldn't find any words this time to reply her back.

"Sona..."

"I want you Dev! I don't want to go anywhere. I want to eat my dinners with you, cuddle with you, sleep in the same bed with you, hear you communicating with our baby, feel your hands caressing my tummy, kiss you whenever I feel like it, make out openly without fearing anybody catching us, be scolded by you whenever I don't eat properly and tell you how much I crave for you more than anything I have ever wanted...." She said as sudden tears started oozing out from her eyelids.

"Oh shit..... Sonakshi... " Dev said before quickly gathering her small frame in his arms and cradled her like a child. Dev just stood stunned as he didn't know how to react to her sudden breakdown but he couldn't deny how his heart warmed up at the words she said them.

"I don't want to go Dev. I always thought how you would manage without me..... but now, I am thinking how will I stay without you for so long. I can't Dev..." she hiccuped.

"Shhhh baby...shh... it's okay. I get it." Dev said as a small smile crept on his face. He still couldn't believe how lucky he got to have such an amazing person as his wife. Someone who loved him beyond herself.

He had heard many stories of pregnant woman mood swings but Sonakshi was exceptional. She never really craved for anything or pestered him about getting things for her. She didn't even throw any tantrums which was a surprise to him. He couldn't find any difference in her attitude nor habits even after her pregnancy. The only difference he found now was, her crying.

She never cried so much in her life, as much as she cried during her pregnancy. And that too for something as sweet as this. He did not want to stay away from Sonakshi as well, but situations were different. He couldn't leave Sonakshi alone in his house since half the time he spent was at work. Moreover, he had also promised Asha that he would send her daughter safely with her for the next two months. How could he go against his words now?

"Sona......baby look at me. It's not like we are not going to see each other for two months. It's going to be the same darling..." he said wiping her tears while she battled her eye lashes and looked at him with the most adorable face.

"But Dev-"

"Wait.... Listen. Whatever you said, I will miss them too. But I will try and come to your house every single day.... It will be the same as how you see me at home after work...Or maybe I can stay over there during the weekends. Hopefully Mr Bijoy Bose won't mind..." he spoke as a small smile curved up her lips.

"Really?" she asked as her eyes gleamed with hope.

"Yes....and I will make sure I talk to both my babies everyday. Your mother will kill me if I don't send you there right now. Even though I am not a girl, I understand that every girl would like to be with her mother during her last stage of pregnancy... and I am sure she misses you like hell! And your dad had already called me twice....he thinks that I am kidnapping you back here!" Dev huffed as Sona chuckled.

"Baby and I will miss you" she said kissing his palms while Dev took her palms in his guided her towards the car. Once he made her sit in her seat, he locked the door on her side and sat back on his seat.

"And I love you guys too. I can't wait to see my little princess or little champ squirming in my hands." Dev said, kissing her stomach before he started driving the car.

However, they failed to notice the newspaper which laid lifelessly on the floor which carried the headlines stating...

"Woman escapes from prison when she was being escorted to the hospital! – Criminal Name : Nisha Bharadwaj........"
