Sona's POV

I came home and quickly went to the washroom to take a cold shower. Sitting down in a messed-up state, I kneeled on the floor and allowed the water from the shower to pour down my body. I tried to wash out all the memories of today that happened in my mind. I still could feel his touch all over my body. Why was he doing this to me?

Was he really concerned for me? Did he regret his actions? But why should he? His actions were much better than what I did to him in the past! He was only being a genuine gentleman. He was still the same Dev who I first knew. He was still the sweet and sincere person. I was the bitch here. I could not look at his eyes because the fault was mine! It was only mine!

Tears flowed through uncontrollably as I cried my hearts out. I just hoped my parents in the living area did not get suspicious about my behaviour. Living with lies is going to be a big nightmare. I don't know how long this is going to continue. Now there was only one option. I needed to find a new job!

After my shower, I heard Elena entering the room.

"I heard that you didn't get the promotion. Is that true?" she asked and I just nodded uninterestedly.

"I seriously don't blame him, Sona! I would have thrown you out of the office if I had been in his position. Just because you are my sister, I can't be biased in something which is so wrong! The fault is after all yours. Why can't you just speak to him? You have to deal with all this until you say the truth to everyone, Sona. You understand?" she spat angrily and left the room.

I just sat there confused. There was so much of truth in her anger. It was my decision and my horrible fate. It was my own stupidity and bad luck that I never get anything good in life. I deserved this.

Dev's POV

There were too many things going on my mind and I couldn't think straight. It was difficult to read Sonakshi's reactions. Everyday was a new revelation for me. I could see that my presence definitely affected her as much as it did to me. She was enjoying every touch of mine before she parted away and left the hall. Why doesn't she open up to me?

A sudden phone call interrupted my thoughts. When I looked at the caller ID, I realized it was none other than my cousin, Nisha.

Nisha is my closest friend and a supportive cousin. She was a chirpy girl since young. She had been my only companion ever since I was ditched by Sonakshi. She knows all my past and stories since my childhood. She was the only person I looked for whenever I needed help. She was also the one who stayed with me when I was facing the worst phase of my life.

She came with me to Australia and helped me in developing my company. She would sit down for hours and advise me like no friend has ever done. I should say she was one of the reasons why my company in Australia was doing well. Now that I had to come here abruptly, she still had to stay there to take over some important responsibilities in that company.

"Hello Dev! How are you? How's mom and dad? Have you finally forgotten me after going there... huh??" she asked in a teasing tone, making me smile.

"Yes, everyone is fine and I should say that I am enjoying the peaceful environment here without you." I said laughing softly.

"Yeah yeah, enjoy as much as you can because I am coming there to bug you again!" she squealed excitedly, making me shocked.

"What?? Coming India? When?" I asked her, with surprise evident through my voice.

"Yes, I am finishing up the important deals here, and coming there to give you a company! Oh my god, do you know that I have so many things to update you? Damn it's not even two weeks yet and I am already missing you like hell Dev! Did you ever miss me?" she asked.

I just laughed at her question because to be true, ever since I came here, my mind has been fully occupied by Sonakshi only. When did I have the time to miss anyone? Maybe the entry of Nisha can make me forget Sona.

After about half and hours I put down the phone and looked at the sky from my balcony...I closed my eyes as a lone tear fell from my eyes, recalling the day I met Sonakshi for the first time.

Flashback

(6 years ago)

Sonakshi was a cheerful and innocent girl who enjoyed life with the little things she had. She loved her family and her only best friend was, Pooja. It was the first day of college for both Sona and Pooja.

It was the first day of college and Sona was really excited to witness the college life.

Getting ready eagerly, she left her house half an hours earlier to make sure she was punctual. She quickly picked up Pooja in her scooter and rushed to her college. Since, it was her first day, she at least wanted to go on time for the orientation. But to her dismay, the traffic wasn't helping her that day.

As time passed, too many things ran on her mind and she became too distracted while driving. When she took a turn to her right, she didn't realise that she wasn't following the traffic rules properly. When she was about to make a U-turn in one of the lanes, she almost collided with another bike. But luckily both of them stopped at the right time and Sona was saved by a thin thread.

Pooja who was sitting behind her gasped as she clung onto Sona fearfully..

Sonakshi was extremely furious. She quickly got down from her scooter and started shouting at the owner of the other bike. The guy on the bike was wearing a helmet and hence Sonakshi could not see his face.

"Excuse me Mr? Don't you have brains? You were trying to kill me right there...You are lucky that I am rushing off today or else you are dead!!!" she yelled while Pooja was trying to calm her down. Pooja was extremely embarrassed at the chaos Sona was making.

"Sonakshi!! It's okay, we are getting late for college. Come on yaar!" she dragged Sona from the place although Sonakshi was adamant on leaving the argument.

"No Pooja, this kind of guys should be reported! HEY YOU! Don't think I will leave you... I make sure you are reported-"

"Sona.... Please! If you report him, then you too have to go to the jail. Stop it and come. It was our fault as well." Pooja pleaded with her friend and grabbed her forcefully.

Clicking her tongue in annoyance, Sonakshi eventually obeyed and resumed her journey back.

When Sonakshi reached the college, she was greeted by a few guys who were sitting on their bikes outside the college entrance and chatting happily. As Sonakshi was about to enter, one of the guys stopped them.

He appeared to be the most handsome guy that Sonakshi had ever set her eyes upon. He was quite tall compared to her, honey-brown eyes so mesmerising, nose sharp, lips looking so soft and pink, jawline chiselled, dark brown hair perfectly styled and his smile so breath-taking... altogether, he was a Greek god who was sent to earth.

As he kept talking to her, Sona got completely lost in his voice.

"Excuse me Miss, since today is the first day for year 1 students, the seniors are having ragging at the main hall, this way. (*Ragging means somewhat like bullying) Therefore I would like to advise you to take the other entrance to the college." he said gracefully.

Sona who by now, had come out from her thoughts, quickly composed herself.

"Ouh thank you so much. Do you mind telling me how do I get to the other entrance?" she asked innocently.

"Sure, no worries. Just take a U-turn, go straight and take left. From there go all the way straight till you see a church. From there take another U-turn and u will see a gate. That's the entrance." he finished with a smile.

Pooja and Sona mentally noted the directions and started their journey.

After they left, there was a roar of laughter echoing in that place.

"DEV! What the hell man??? I never thought you were such a bully? Why did you give her those directions? Oh my...poor child is gonna be so late for class" laughed all the guys around him.

Yes, the guy was none other than the Romeo of the college, Dev Dixit. He was the craze of every women in the college. He was considered the dangerous guy whom no one dared to mess up with. But he always preferred to show his friendly side to others. He was helpful and down to earth when he met people who needed his help. The bench at the college entrance was his favourite spot where he spent most of his time with his friends.

As his friends teased him, he smiled and looked at the path which Sonakshi's scooter disappeared. A genuine smile appeared on his lips.

"You know... I have seen so many girls in my life. But I have to admit that she was the worst, guys... She came in the wrong way today morning and started shouting at me in the middle of the road. She didn't even ask a sorry, you know? So, this is my small revenge to you, young lady." he smirked evilly.

"God! What? Are you serious? A girl shouted at you and you didn't reply anything back? Hmm... now that's a news for us.." winked another guy beside Dev.

"Oh, shut up Karan. It was just that something about her was so different that I couldn't really bring myself to tell her anything at the moment. She looked so innocent... So pure, or maybe attractive too. Thank god she didn't recognise me with that helmet.. I can't wait to see her face again though." Dev said and all his friends around him gawked in shock.

When he realized what he just said, he bit his tongue. He knew that now he had to bear with their endless teasings for the rest of the day.

After a long ride, Sonakshi was now reaching the same entrance that she had reached 30 minutes ago. It was the exact same place where the bunch of guys had previously been seated.

She was horrified. Now, that bench was empty and only a security guard was there. When she went and asked the guard about the other entrance, he replied to her, saying that there was only one entrance for that college while the other entrance was being renovated.

Both Sona and Pooja knew that they were bullied right on the first day. Although Pooja decided to forget about the incident, Sonakshi was too angry and infuriated. She was going non-stop, rambling about the 'unknown guy' to Pooja for that entire day.

"It's okay Sona, just forget it." Pooja said softly.

"Forget? If I ever see him ever again, I swear I will not leave him, Pooja!" she said before leaving home at the end of the day.
