The next day went smooth for Sona as Dev was busy with his meetings but somewhere in her mind, she knew she was missing him. It was not even one month after Dev joined the office, but she was already missing him.

After her breakdown the previous day, Dev made sure Sonakshi had her lunch on time and gave her appropriate amount of work to handle. He did not initiate much conversation with her and tried to avoid her as much as possible. She was surprised with the sudden change in Dev. She did not want to get used to his good side yet.

Dev's POV

My meetings finished earlier than what I had initially expected. I had lots of things going on inside my mind for the past few days. It was one of the reasons why I had avoided Sona for the past few days. She was occupying too much space on my mind. Now I did not want to go back to my office and meet her again.

Seeing her, only complicated my feelings.

Immediately an idea popped up in my mind. I knew what I had to do

I drove my car to Sonakshi's house and knocked the door. I stood on her doorstep in the warm breeze of an August morning, yet I was shaking like an idiot. I did not know whether I took the right decision or not, but I was least bothered about it right now.

The door flew open and I was received by a shocked looking Elena. She stood there like a statue until I waved my hands in front of her.

"Dev...?" she asked, almost unsure of my presence.

"Yeap... Won't you allow me to come in?" I asked in a playful manner, but her face turned more serious.

"Erm... Dev, actually mom and dad are at home. And Sona is also not here. I guess this is not a good time to talk... You should leave.." before she could leave, I saw her parents walking up to the door.

Her mum came towards me and then faced Elena with a questioning look.

"Who I this Elena?" her dad asked.

"Hi uncle, I am Dev Dixit.." I introduced myself as they gave me a confused look.

Elena immediately barged in and said, "Actually he is Sona's boss ma... he is also her good friend I guess..." she trailed not knowing what else to say.

"Ouhh Namaste... Why are you standing there? Please come in. Anyway, Sona is at office right?" her mum enquired as I walked inside the living area.

"Yea she is at the office now... Actually I came here to meet the both of you." I told them, making Elena's eyes widen with fear. Meanwhile, her parents gave me a concerned look and nodded meekly.

Sona's POV

I have no idea where the hell was Dev. Leaving so much of work here, where did he go? How can he just go missing like this? Even his outdoor meeting had ended! Now, what shall I tell the others? That his personal assistant, didn't know where the boss went?

He did not even bother to inform anyone before leaving the place. He had lots of pending work and I did not know whom to ask instructions from. I slowly walked towards the canteen and sat down with my coffee. I was too exhausted to even think about anything else, when Jatin came there.

He dragged his chair and sat beside me with a wide grin. I looked at him suspiciously, having no idea what was cooking up in his mind now.

"Sona, there's a good news for you...Neil has been fired from the job!!!" he said with excitement while I stare at him with unbelievable expressions.

"Huh... Really? That's so sudden... I mean when? How?" I bombarded him with questions.

"I only knew it yesterday. Dev and Neil got down into a heated argument and don't worry, Neil broke his nose before he left." Jatin laughed clutching his tummy while I punched him in his arms.

"Jatin!! Behave like a HR executive! Seriously... I mean why was Dev involved in an argument with Neil? After all, they don't even meet in the office." I spoke to myself, as I was totally confused with the argument part.

"Hmm...I didn't know too. Dev told me that he saw something through the CCTV footage and got some videos that he was misbehaving with some girls. Serves him right! From now on, you have no disturbance too." he said with a smile and I smiled back at him. His concern was so genuine.

But then it hit me. What if Dev saw the video that happened in that pantry? Was that the reason for the argument with Neil? Ouh dear... that would just complicate things further.

Time passed and I was busy occupied with all the tasks. I was too engrossed in doing my work that I did not even realize that Dev was already back in his cabin, staring at me intently.

He suddenly cleared his throat to gain my attention. As I looked up at him, a sudden chill crept up my spine. He was looking so different. Maybe more casual. He was not wearing his blazer. Instead his shirt sleeves were rolled up till his elbow. He was sitting on top of his table, directly facing me. No....staring at me to be exact. His stare was filled with desire. It was so intense and hot that it made me squirm in my seat.

We stared back at each other for what seemed like hours until I finally dropped my gaze.

"Are you going to tell me what you are thinking about Ms Bose?" his voice was sharp and demanding.

For once. Just for once...I wanted to act brave in front of him. I stood up from my desk and went near him.

"Where did you go?" I asked him after mustering the much-needed courage.

His eyes shined with amusement before he replied.

"I came from somewhere you never would expect me to be at...." he replied, in a voice low and husky.

"Why did you fire Neil...... Was it because....beca...." I stuttered badly. I did not know why I just asked that bloody question. That was so unnecessary of me and I knew it.

I knew I would not be getting any answers so I decided to run away from that place and resume my work, but life had different plans for me.

Dev's POV

I had no idea why Sonakshi had to ask about Neil and spoil my mood but something about her tone was different. She knew her answers. She was afraid yet she tried to show that she was brave. I appreciated her efforts though. She did not know that I went to her house a few hours ago. But she will get to know everything soon... Just a little more time, my dear Sona..

I could see her face change from her normal tone to regret..

"Why did you fire Neil........ Was it because....beca..."she couldn't finish her sentence. She was about to move away when I held her wrist and pulled her back to her original spot.

I got down from the table and moved forward towards her.

"Because of what Ms Bose?" I asked as she visibly shuddered.

I moved closer to her but she kept stepping away till she hit the wall near her desk. Trapped? I smirked and continued walking until our foreheads was so close. She stood frozen on her spot. She leaned in, so that her forehead rested against mine. We close our eyes as both our breaths were shaking.

"Thank you" she says in barely more than a whisper.

"For what?"

"For firing Neil..." she said as her gaze lowered. I held her chin and brought her up to make her face me again.

"And why did I fire Neil?" I asked cockily.

"For....." she paused, looking for answers in my eyes.

"For?" my voice intimidated her more

"For......breaking my....coffee mug..." she said as she closed her eyes. I couldn't stop myself from admiring her more. Could she get any cuter?

Without another word, Dev leaned in and brushed his lips against hers and felt her shivering in his contact. He wanted to tease her as he slowly traced her lips with his.

Unexpectedly, his hand drifted to her hip. It settled there and pulled her closer. She inhaled sharply. She was against his warm chest, chiselled to perfection. She splayed her hand against it, intending to push him away, but instead she left it there. Dev's breathing quickened as hers.

He began nuzzling her neck with delicate kisses. So faint, they were whispers. She urged herself to push away, but couldn't. Her limp body began to tremble uncontrollably. His head was angled slightly to the side as his lips came closer and closer to hers. She was surprised to find her own lips parted. Their breaths mingled. Her heart fluttered inside her chest. At first, it was a delicate butterfly of a kisses. Then his arms encircled her and pulled her closer.

Unable to contain themselves anymore, Dev held Sona's head in his hands and pulls her into a fiery and passionate kiss. Her hands worked their way around his body, feeling each crevasse, each line along his perfect physique. His hand rested below her ear, his thumb caressing her cheek as their breaths mingled. She ran her fingers down his spine, pulling him closer until there was no space left between them and she could feel the beating of his heart against her chest.

Dev felt like every fibre of his were vibrating with anticipation. Adrenaline was coursing through his veins when Sonakshi kissed him back with equal passion. Excitement coursed through his veins and his body was weakening by her gentle seductive touches.

In an instant she had pulled away and arched up into his broad chest, moaning in the contact of body heat against her own. She looked at Dev with so much of admiration and bit her lips out of nervousness. That was all it took for Dev to lose his control again. He slammed back his lips into hers, nearly knocking off all the wind from her lungs. He couldn't get enough of her.

The kiss obliterated every thought. For the first time in forever, both their minds were locked into the present. Their worries of the day evaporated like a summer shower onto a hot car. Their usual mode of hurrying from one thing to the next was suspended. Dev had no wish for the kiss to end.

Sona laid her back against the wall as he matched her body's form. Dev's hands venture over her curved body, exploring them. They finally pull apart for air and open their eyes. They stared deep into each other's eyes. Dev's were full of passion and love while Sona's were full of curiosity and pain. No words were spoken but a story worthy of them was communicated.

They were still breathing hard not able to digest what just happened in a few seconds. It was so passionate and beautiful. None of them felt awkward or uncomfortable during the kiss. It almost felt so natural like they were doing it every day. Dev and Sona understood one thing at that moment.

They would never be able to feel these feelings with anyone else ever again.

Dev slowly loosened his hold on her and Sona gained her composure. Not knowing what to say Sonakshi started to slowly move out from his cabin. The silence became awkward. She cursed herself mentally for acting so desperate.

"Sonakshi...." he spoke first, making Sona freeze on her spot.

That was the first time he called her using her name instead of Ms Bose.

"I actually fired Neil because...." Dev paused and saw Sona's back tensing.

"Because..?" she whispered back.

"Because.... he....... He ruined my documents that day." Dev said while a smile instantly crept up on Sonakshi's face.

She knew the real reason after all...
