(Flashback continues...)

SONA's POV

Next day, I was nervous as hell. I felt totally disturbed and did not want to go to college. I knew that today was an important day and I had to tell Dev my rejection! But why was I feeling so bad about it? Did I take the wrong decision?

I walked out from my house with a heavy heart. As I picked up Pooja from her house, I told her all the events that's happened the day before. I also told her that I did not want to meet Dev in the garden and give him hopes.

However, Pooja advised me that I should not be rude and just meet Dev at the garden to hear what he has to say. She also told me that by meeting him in the garden, I would be able to avoid some prying eyes of my college mates who were eagerly waiting for gossips to spice up their conversations!

"Sona! Now don't be adamant. Look there are hundreds of girls who would fall on his feet the next minute you leave him. It's not like he doesn't have anyone to play with or something. I have seen the seriousness in his eyes. It's not just stupid, but it's a mean thing to keep ignoring a person. I know you are brave! But you need to understand that he needs a definite answer too. You have made him chase you long enough... Now you need to end all this right now. Tell him a yes or a no! I can't just support you doing something blindly!" Pooja said with irritation.

"I know Pooja! I never wanted him to chase me. All I needed was some time, and now I am clear. Let him come to college and I shall tell him my decision!" I said firmly.

"Didn't he say, he won't come if you don't go to the garden? Why don't you just meet him there?"

"I told him I won't come. He has no rights to force me like that to whatever place he wants! He is not my boyfriend Pooja!" I groaned.

Pooja gave me a defeated look and sighed. We got down from the scooter and started to walk towards the college. This time, I knew that I was being stubborn and unreasonable. All he wanted was to talk with me in the garden, but my ego was not allowing me to bend to his demands! Such a spoilt brat you are Sona!

It has been 4 hours when I came out for a break from my hectic lessons. I learnt that Dev still hadn't come to the college. Slowly, the feeling of guilt kicked in. I started to find for Jatin but he was nowhere to be found too. To add on to my misery, Pooja informed me that Dev wasn't in the garden as well... Nervousness kicked in as my heart picked up its speed. I called Jatin too many times but there was no answer from his side. Shit!!!

Finally, I decided to give Jatin a last call and after a few rings, thankfully he picked up!

"Jatin!!! Where are you? Do you know how long I've been trying to call you?" my voice choked.

"Hey Sona, I am sorry but I had to come down to the Apollo's hospital. Actually, it's an emergency. Dev met with an accident." he responded. His voice was void of any emotions. The usual humour in his tone was lost. I knew he wasn't joking.

I felt like all the air was knocked out from my lungs. "Oh my god.." I cried trying to control myself. Pooja panicked, looking at my state and immediately pulled the phone from my hand. She enquired Jatin about Dev's condition before dragging me out of school. We rushed towards the hospital. I had no energy to ride the scooter, so we had to take an auto to reach there.

Once we reached the hospital, we rushed towards the receptionist to ask about the ward details. After we were given the details, I ran through the corridors, not even waiting for Pooja! I just wanted to see him. It was all my fault. If I had gone to the garden early morning, all this wouldn't have happened. I started to hate myself more as I reached his ward.

Jatin wasn't there. I looked around and found no one there. When I spotted a nurse coming out from the ward, I went up to her and asked her if I was allowed to go in. Once she agreed, without thinking I barged into the place.

Inside I saw Dev sitting down calmly with minor injuries in his arms and legs. I could see that he was surprised by my entry. From his face, I was sure he wasn't expecting me. I couldn't hold on to my tears as I rushed towards him and engulfed him in a bone crushing hug. He was taken aback by my sudden gesture but after a minute, I slowly felt his arms tightening around me gently.

Dev's POV

I was totally clueless about what was happening around me. I knew I had a small accident but why was Sonakshi crying? My body started stiffening as I felt her hands sliding up from my chest and grabbing my collar. She parted away from me and looked at me with sadness. Her eyes were full of guilt and relief at the same time. I hadn't seen anyone showing me that much of concern apart from my parents.

Before I could react, she pressed her lips on mine. Fuck! I better stop her now before I lose control. I tried to slightly hold her shoulders, but she was in no mood to stop what she was doing. Whatever pain I was experiencing minutes before, disappeared in her kiss. Her nails slightly scratched my neck. Now all I felt was pure pleasure. Her hands travelled down to my shirt and made my hormones rush haywire. I let my hands roamed down to her lower back and felt her shiver from my touch.

She pulled away from me and whispered the words which I was dying to hear from her every minute.

"I love you DEV! Love you verrryyy much!" she said pecking me in my lips again.

If that wasn't the sweetest proposal, I didn't know what else would be. I looked at her with awe and smiled wholeheartedly. She was really cute. I gave her a look to continue what she was saying.

"Dev, I am really sorry.. I know I was being very immature but still you were very patient with me. This is who I am. I have no idea about how being in relationship feels like. It's really new to me. All I know is that, it feels good to be with you. I am happy whenever you are beside me. It gives me immense pleasure. I would have never forgiven myself if anything happened to you..... today...." Sonakshi's voice came out choked as she blabbered everything at one go.

"So, is your confession because of the accident?" I narrowed my eyes.

"No... The last 15 minutes, I realized how important you are in my life. I couldn't bear the pain at all Dev! You had no idea.." before she could continue I pulled her towards my lap and crushed her lips with mine again. This time it was more passionate. I overpowered the kiss like a beast. The way she admitted how badly she was affected by me, made it even harder for me to control my urge of kissing her madly.

Her lips opened widely as I pushed my tongue inside the walls of her mouth. Our tongues intertwined together, massaging, pushing and creating an oral sensation that caused an involuntary hum to pass through my lips.

Sona's POV

The connection of Dev's lips and tongues with mine was extraordinary. Every suck and massage was executed deliberately, inflaming my skin. My arms looped around his neck, forcing us closer. My fingers weaved through his thick hair. His teeth scraped against my lower lip as he bit down hard enough for it to hurt. I whimpered harshly in his mouth as he pulled back.

"Ssss..ouch....I was right.... Always a monster!" I said, still panting.

"Jo bhi hun..tumhara hi hun! Tumhe hi sambhaalna padega." (Whatever, I am, I am all yours! You have to take care of me), he said smiling.

Our moment was interrupted by Jatin and Pooja. Both of them barged inside the room. They had a 'I know what happened', look in their faces. I saw Jatin smirking while Pooja gawking at us in disbelief. Realising our positions, I swiftly stood up from the bed!

"You see Pooja, I told you we shouldn't disturb them. You see now! We just interrupted an Emran Hashmi moment! And Dev!! Man, you just met with an accident! Can you at least act like a patient for some days?" Jatin said, making my eyes widened at his crude statement.

"Oh my god! Sona seriously? I didn't believe Jatin when he told me about you. But then... I should have guessed it... Hmm anyways this is hospital guys! Behave yourselves" she warned, trying to hide her chuckle.

After their teasing session, Dev explained to us how he met with the accident. It was a minor road accident where his bike crashed in a tree while saving a small girl running on the road. Still I wasn't convinced and told him not to ride his bike for another few days until he was alright. Pooja and Jatin were even more excited than us on this union.

Everything seemed perfect at that moment.

I couldn't believe how perfectly right everything looked. I wasn't scared about anything else when Dev was with me. This moment, both of us were happy and that was all that mattered to me. I knew I did the right thing by accepting Dev in my life. I wish time could just stop the time at where we were.

But little did I know that the happiness now was just a temporary cloud, waiting to be passed...
