Klaus' P.O.V

I was surprised when Kol and Roxanne came back from their day holding hands. It seemed like they had gotten along well and I'll admit, I was a little jealous. Though I guess it was my own fault after the way I spoke to her this morning.

It was strange, I felt drawn to her even though it was wrong as she was Kol's. She was being questioned about her day with Kol by her father and her reply made both Elijah and myself smirk. As soon as her parents left, Roxanne turned to Kol, grinning.

'Thank you for today, I'm going to retire to my chambers now but I had fun' she said, getting up and leaving the room.

'Did you take her on a romantic date Kol?' Rebekah asked excitedly

'Can't tell you that dear sister, it's a secret' Kol teased

'No fair!' Rebekah exclaimed and pouted

We laughed at her which made her pout and frown even more. She felt very left out at times being surrounded by four brothers but she was very easy to torment. She left the room in a huff, leaving the four of us.

'Do you think Roxanne will be willing to marry you Kol?' Finn asked him

'Probably. Eventually. It has only been two days brother' Kol answered.

'You need to get started Kol, we need you to be married to her!'

'I know Finn. I know. But Roxanne isn't going to just jump at getting married so soon'

'So compel her' I told him, smiling

Elijah frowned at me

'That's not going to happen Nik. I won't take away her will like that' Kol told me angrily

'Suit yourself brother' and I got up and left the banquet hall.

I wandered the halls of the castle for a while, not really having a set destination in mind. Until I found myself outside of Roxanne's door. I hesitated, not knowing if I should knock or walk away. Then the door opened and Roxanne was stood looking at me

'Would you like to come in?' she asked

'Thank you'

She let me in and closed the door. She went and sat on her bed whilst I sat on the chair located near her vanity desk. She didn't say a word, she just sat there watching me which made me more nervous than I already was.

'I'm sorry for how I treated you this morning Roxanne' I apologised

'Don't be. I know how it has to be. I'm meant for Kol. No – one else.' She replied

'Doesn't mean you have to like it'

She smiled and patted the bed next to her. I moved to sit next to her and she curled up next to me. My arm automatically went round her even though I knew I should stay away.

'What would your family say if they knew you were here last night?' she asked me

'They would probably shame me and tell me not to let it happen again. Although, I may not listen to them' I replied

She laughed and the sound was like music to my ears

'I understand you enjoyed your day with Kol?' I half asked, half stated

'No need to sound jealous Klaus, it's what is expected of me. Marry a Lord, carry on the family legacy. Although, Jace told me vampires can't have children so I don't think that part will work out' she replied, avoiding my question but opening up more

Roxanne pulled out of my embrace suddenly and I looked at her questioningly. What I didn't expect however was for her to push me back on her bed, so that was lying down. She came and laid next to me and cuddled into my side like she had the night before.

'Can I ask you something Roxanne?'

'Of course'

'Are you going to marry Kol at the end of this, knowing you won't have children, and that he will out live you?'

'I think so. It will make my parents happy, secure the kingdom, and of course, your family agreed to the marriage for your own reasons. I can't let anyone down' she answered sadly

'Please don't be sad love, its not all bad' I tried halfheartedly to cheer her up

'Just most of it!' and she laughed again 'Alright, my turn. What's it like being a vampire?'

'It has its good and bad points. For example, we're super fast, super strong, and never age. But, we are always craving blood' I told her

'Do you crave my blood?'

'Sometimes. But I'm old enough to be able to resist the urge. And I did eat before coming here'

'Can I ask you something else?'

This time I was the one who laughed

'Go ahead love, what else would you like to know?'

'Why did your family look uncomfortable yesterday when I called my brother a whore? And why did you perk up when Jace called me a hybrid?' she asked and I sighed but proceeded to tell her anyway

'They looked uncomfortable because our mother is also a whore. I have a different father to my siblings. And I was surprised to hear you were a hybrid because I am too. My real father was a wolf. When I was turned into a vampire, the wolf remained. When I killed my first victim, the curse was triggered and I ended up being both' I explained to her

'I'm sorry, that sounds awful' she apologised

'Not your fault. But now you know'

My hand drifted to her hair and I started to run my fingers through it

'It's late. You should sleep' I told Roxanne

'Fine. But you're staying again' she compromised and pressed herself closer to my side.
