Batman: Under the Red Hood 2014
Chapter 5 - The Truth

THIRD POV

Light shines in the room. In the room at the table, are sitting the Black Mask and the Joker, while his secretary and 5 guards are standing beside them.

Black Mask roles his hands into fists, his hands placed on the table.

B. Mask: "I hope you understand the trouble I've gone through... to arrange this little get-together here. A lot of money. A lot of dead meat."

He is talking while looking at Joker, who is currently eating chips. Joker gulps as he swallows the chip. Second later he eats another chip.

B. Mask:" Look, I've Got a problem. And you are absolutely the man who possesses the gifts...to take care of this problem. I need you to murder the Red Hood. You think you can handle that?"

Joker is eating the chip until he coughs.

Joker: "May I have some water?"

Black Mask moves his hand, approving to his guard to give the Joker the glass of water.

The guard gives the glass to Joker who stares at it. Then, the Joker slams the glass at the edge of the table, shattering it and he cuts the guard's throat with the sharp end of the glass.

Joker then takes the guards pistol from his belt and turns as he shoots down other 4 guards down, killing them.

He aims the gun at Black Mask as he starts to laugh. He laughs as Black Mask stares at him, with the face I can't desribe, but the his face is a mask soooo.

Joker stops laughing as he moves the pistol away and puts his left arm to his face and starts thinking.

Joker: "I'm going to need something to wear... and a very big truck."

B. Mask: "Sure. Any thing else?"

Joker: "I'll need guys. Not these guys because, well, they're kind of dead."

Joker saids as he points with his finger at dead people around them, before again aiming his pistol at Black Mask face which says he know this was going to be a nightmate as Joker laughs again.

India

We are again in the mountains of India, as we see the palace where League of Asassins is placed.

The death of Ra's Al Ghul maybe hit them hard but now his daughter Talia Al Ghul is the head of the League.

The guard is walking the hall when he is punched down by the Batman. Batman then moves fast as he goes towards another guard who is too slow as he is taken down too.

Someone puts down the glass of wine. It's Talia who stands up from her table and moves foward before stopping on the spot. She looks around, then moves foward again.

She comes to the window of her room as she stares outside. But it looks like she knows she isn't alone.

Talia: "What is the occasion that you came to me, my beloved."

In the reflection on the windows, Batman appears as Talia stares outside.

Batman: "You didn't tell me everything."

Talia: "I asure you I did. I told you everything you needed to know about our son."

Batman: "I'm not talking about him. What did you do to Y/N?"

Batman says in darker and angry tone as Talia's eyes widen at the question.

Batman: "Don't act like you don't know what I'm talking about, because we both know you are among the last people alive, with me, who knows about that night."

Talia sighs as she takes out the communicator out of her pocket.

Talia: "Commander, this is Talia Al Ghul. Stand down. I will be entertaining a guest in my study."

She says as the guards outside stop at the door, at her orders. Talia puts the communicator in her pocket as she looks at Batman.

Talia: "Shall we?"

Talia is pouring the wine in her glass as she and Bruce standing in the middle of her room.

Talia: "Bruce, you remember when my father last became embattled with you before his death?"

Bruce: "He was planning to blow up banks."

Talia: "Accurate, if inelegant. My father was in the midst of toppling the economy of Europe.. but you were on to him."

We seen now as Ra's Al Ghul is walking out of the helicopter with his man in the snowy night in Bosnia.

Talia: "He sought a distraction. So we hired the Joker."

They stop as they are looking at the Joker with his men. Joker cracks the the smile as the thunder stikes in the night.

Talia: "When your paths crossed in Bosnia...it was to appear that you had stumbled upon him."

Bruce: "Y/N was one to find connections to Joker and Ra's."

Talia: "Impressive for a 11 year old. Anyway, he was paid extremely well for what was intended to be a wild-goose chase."

The scene changes as we see the dead body, with the joker's smile and open eyes in the seat, as Batman and Robin run past it and other 2 visible dead bodies, also with Joker smile, as we see the "Bosnia Bolnica" labled on the wall, which means they are in the hospital.

Now we see as the joker's men, who are wearing gask masks with the painted clown's smile of them as they are stealing the medical supplies.

Then Batman comes crushing through doors, litearly slaming the doors away, along Robin as they see them.

Joker turns and smiles.

Batman and Robin run at them, as joker's men run at them two as Joker laughs.

Batman kicks 2 guys away as Robin flips over Batman and knee's the third guy in the face, who falls down in the bag full of medical supplies as Joker stops laughing and starts running away. Robin runs for the Joker while Batman fights off the joker's men.

Batman looks towards them as he sees that Joker has closed the door and Robin tries to open them but can't. Batman goes to help his partner, but one of the men grabs him by shoulder, turns him around and punches Batman in the face, sending him on the ground. Robin turns and sees this.

He stops trying to open the door and runs at the man. The man tries to kick Robin, but Robin slides down and sweeps man's legs, as the man falls on the floor hard and gets knock out.

Batman groans as he holds his head. Then Robin walks to him and gives him a hand, which Batman accepts and takes it as Robin helps him get up.

Talia: "Then... he murdered the boy."

The scene shows the beaten Robin as the Joker stands near him.

Talia: "That was not by my father's design. I'm afraid my father, as me either, overestimated our ability to control the Joker just as we underestimated his madness."

Talia turns to Bruce.

Talia: "We took away someone who was close to you, especialy when you call him your son, and I can't imagene what if Damian was the one to be murdered that night. It... grieved him, Bruce. It grieved me more, because we were a party to something so brutal."

Bruce: "You've never shied away from drawing blood."

He says, no emotion in his voice, as he stares at Talia.

Talia: "True. But always with purpose. Always with greater goals. This was simply an...unnecessary casualty."

Talia head went down for moment. She puts the glass down on the table as she looks back up at Bruce.

Talia: "As penance, My father chose not to make war with you again and to attempt to rectify this disservice."

Bruce: "Rectify!?"

Bruce says as he greets his teeth.

Talia: "Yes. We had hoped to return to you what you had lost so when was the time to you meet Damian, you wouldn't be angry at us. But Damian to side now. My father walked this world for nearly six centuries. As you know... he achieved that by bathing in the rejuvenating waters of the Lazarus Pit. Along with it's healing abilities... it has long been rumored that it is capable of an even greater feat... "

Bruce: "To raise the dead."

Talia nods.

Talia: "We know that is possible now, because you revived me last year, but I wasn't the first to be revived by it."

Bruce: "So you took the body."

Talia: "Procuring the remains of your partner... and son was not difficult. You had come to Bosnia under the guise of Bruce Wayne... and you chose to depart as such. You even concocted the cover story...that young Y/N had died in a bombing in Sarajevo. This made it easy for us. All it took was a few payoffs to replace his body. "

We now see the wall on which is written on the board" United States Embassy" and "Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina".

We see now Bruce who is shaking his hands with one of people who work in the embassy at the entrance as Bruce walks away.

Now we seen a coffin on the table as through open doors 3 people come in the room, 2 of them caring a body bug. They lay it next to the table as the 3rd guy opens the coffin in which is Y/N's body. They zip open the body bug as we see the manikin looking the same as Y/N.

Talia: "We felt confident that you would not perform an autopsy... even if you had, we still would have bought enough time. But our plan...well, Bruce...

She turns to Bruce.

Talia: "It had unfortunate results. He returned to this world... but returned damaged."

Now 2 people in red cloaks are caring the dead body of Y/N covered in....?????

Emmmmm I call that a toilet paper.

SO where are we? Ah yes. They carry the body int the pool, full of Lazarus Pit, as they placed the body under water and got out.

Ra's, Talia and their servants in red cloaks as eagerly waiting what is going to happen. The steam goes to the ceiling as bubbles are appearing on the water.

Then, Y/N comes out of the pool, screaming, as everyone in the room is in shocked. They can't believe it. They raised the death.

Revived Y/N screams as he tears the "toilet paper" of his head, reavlining his eyes, which are now more Green but still have some of E/C left in it as he coughs out water from his mouth as Talia and Ra's walk closer to the pool.

Y/N looks at them as he is gasping, then he greets his teeth and growls. He starts to run off the from the pool. 2 of men tried to stop it but Y/N lunched one in the face and then jumped on the second one, putting his fingers in man's eyes as the man screams and falls on the ground.

Y/N runs towards the stairs. Talia takes out the pistol and trues to shoot him, but Ra's steps in and moves the pistol out of the way as Talia shoot. Then Ra's begin to chase now escaping Y/N.

Y/N runs and runs until he jumps through the window and is screaming while falling down into a canyon with a river. Ra's stops at the hole as he looks down, not believing What just happent.

Talia: "Our army searched for months but we were never able to find a body or pick up a trail."

Bruce lifts his head up from the thoughts as he looks at Talia.

Talia: "We thought him dead yet again. But I hear you have been having trouble at home."

Talia then turns and walks to the window.

Talia: "We have returned Y/N to you as a blight upon your house. He burns the very kingdom you - -"

She turns around to look up at Bruce, but he is nowhere to be found.

Talia: "- - protect."

Talia removes her suprised face as she takes out the communicator and activates it.

She walks towards the doors as the servant comes in.

Servant: "Shall I alert the guards to pursue him?"

Talia: "Don't be foolish. They would never catch him. Besides, I have done enough."

She says as she exits through the doors.

Batman is currently flying back to Gotham in the batwing, as he is talking to Alfred over camera feed.

Alfred: "Sir, please take this to heart. Who Y/N was before, how we lost him...and this dark miracle or curse that has brought about his return... it is not your fault."

When Alfred says that, Bruce makes a strenght look on his face.

Alfred: "I know you view his death as your greatest failure but - -"

Bruce: "His life and his death are my greatest failure. Do you remember how he was when I found him?"

Alfred: "Of course, sir. Fearless artogant, brash... and gifted, sweet, nice and caring."

Alfred says as he looks to his right, as he sees on the screen to pictures. One of Y/N being arrested and the second one a news paper with words lablled "Boy Wonder saves Mayor".

Bruce: "Yes. Diffrent than Dick in so many ways and same to Damian in more ways... but still a lot diffrent then Damian and still so full of potential and power. But I knew, even from the beginning, he was dangerous. If I hadn't made him into Robin, he would have grown to do wrong. Then I got him killed. My partner. My solider. My fault. I own that. I'll carry that like everything else... "

He says as he stops for a moment.

Bruce: "But now there's this. He's taken everything I've ever taught him and turned it on me. It's a hell of my own making, Alfred."

Alfred: "Sir, this is not your doing. You loved him: He knows that. It should be enough."

Bruce: "It's not."

Then a notiffication rings as Alfred checks it.

News Anchor: "Reporting live from Gotham Bay bridge - -"

Alfred: "My word. Sir, patch into the media feed now."

The helicopter flies over the bridge in Gotham. We can hear Joker laughing as the police is making barries around on the bridge.

Cop: "Come on, get out of there, now!"

He says to the civilians who are running away from the Joker who is laughing on the truck, parked in the middle of the bridge.

Gordon: "Don't know what that maniac's up to, but nobody make a move till I give a the order."

Helicopter flies again over as Joker laughs. Then a GCPD blipms turn on their lighs and shine on the Joker who bows to his 'audience'.

Inside a truck are a gang of people Red Hood turned to pay him and of course, Black Mask and his secretary, as all of them are tight up in the ropes.

Joker: "I'm a little teapot. Short and stout. Here is my handle, here is my spout."

Joker hums a song as he pours down the oil at them through the small vent window.

He opens it and throws the tank of down, next to secretary and Black Mask.

B. Mask: "This wasn't part of the damn deal, you freak! Get me out of here right now!"

Black Mask yells and bages to Joker.

Joker: "I thought you'd enjoy seeing some old faces. After all, most of these guys used to work for you."

Joker takes out a lighter and tries to turn it on, but can't Joker looks at it confused.

Cop: "Who's that? Get a light on him."

2 Blimps then turn their lights on the top of the bridge as they now see Red Hood standing there.

Gordon: "Up there!"

All now cops aim there weapons at the Red Hood. Red Hood is staring at the Joker as the wind blows into his jacket, looking like a total badass.

Joker: "Hey, look at you. Mr. Hood. Or do you perfer Red?"

Joker stands as he is looking at the Red Hood.

Joker: "I used to wear an outfit a lot like that. Mine was more fashy maitre d' than motorcycle fetish. You kids today."

Then Joker tries to turn on the lighter as he puts a finger up.

Joker: "I'm sorry, could you hold on? I was just in the middle of setting fire to your gang."

Red Hood: "Go ahead. You think I care if that scum dies?"

Joker: "Don't know. I just wanted your attention."

Joker looks again at the Red Hood, still trying to turn on the dam lighter.

Red Hood: "You've always had my attention. But what I really wanted was an audience with you."

Joker stops as he peaks his eyes at the Red Hood.

Joker: "I'm sorry, that seems to imply that you organized this little clambake."

Red Hood: "I did. Sure, I had a lots of plans... but the endgame was getting Black Mask so desperate that he'd cut a deal. He was the only one with the connections to get into Arkham.. and get you out."

B. Mask: "You can't trust anybody."

He says inside a truck.

Joker: "So I've been bamboozled. Oh, my."

Joker says as he puts his most 'when his is fucked up' face ever.

Red Hood: "I wouldn't undersell it. It took a lot of work to bring about our reunion."

Joker: "Reunion? Have we met before?"

Joker puts one of his hands on his hip and another on the chin, as he asked confused.

Red Hood: "Yes, we have."

Joker: "Well, here's to warm memories."

Joker puts his hands wide as he finally turns on the lighter as Red Hood narrows his eyes on that, remembering him of that night.

Joker smiles as he let's go of the lighter which falls down. It falls on one of man bellow and starts a fire as black smoke starts to coming out, as Joker puts his hands wide, like a 'Ta-Da' way.

But just in time, batwing flies over and drops the fire extinguisher spray over the truck, which falls on the Joker and gets inside a truck, turning off the fire.

Red Hood turns his head towards the batwing, looking pissed, knowing that he is going to stop his only chance talking the Joker with him.

Batwing turns around. This time it drops a hook which catches o to Joker, who is trying to get him out of sticky spray, into the air.

Red Hood runs towards the edge as he he jumps and catches on the rope in the air.

Red Hood takes out the knife and cuts the rope and he and the Joker fall down into a sea. Under water, Joker tries to swim back to the surface, but Red Hood grabs him by the neck and drags him away.

Batwing is flying near water, as Batman is looking on the radar for teo of them. But the radar shows nothing as Batman greets his teeth in frustation, knowing that Red Hood got the joker.

He turns the plane as he goes to check again, then Red Hood spoke though his coms.

Red Hood: "I've got him. You want him? Meet me at crime alley."

Batman narrows his eyes. He turns the plane and flies towards the place of their meeting.

Yuhhhh, biggest chapter so far. So this is 2nd chapter in a row I wrote in one Day, from 16:00 to 22:00 with breaks for something to help my father and eat dinner.

It wasn't the best year, but if wasn't for corona, maybe I would never start writing these books.

Next Chapter is the big FINALE of Batman Under the Red Hood so stay tuned for that.

[I'm literally killing myself with these chapters because unlike most of writers on Watpad, I'm writing not just dialogues but and details, Sometimes they are big and detailed and Sometimes not, but that gives the story the point of view, like a movie.]
