Chapter 20 - Raid on the Hive Base

THIRD POV

Jump City

It's night time on one of mountain ranges near Jump City. We can see there is an base build there as few armoured guards are patroling outside of it. They are revealed to be HIVE guards.

Down the cliff, there of those guards are just taking a turn around the edge of the cliff while flying on hover bikes.

Then, a red batarang was thrown as it hits one of the bikes, fliping the guard of it, as one next to him was hit off the bike too by unknown force.

The person who was behind that force was revealed to be Starfire as she then landed on the guy she pushed off. Then Red Hood and Nightwing jump behind her. Nightwing instead of his old blue and black suit, now wears black and red suit with bigger symbol then before, which totally didn't pissed certain vigilante who wears a red helmet. Nightwing throws his batarang towards the 3rd guard who just turned in time to get batarang into his face, which knocked him down.

Starfire then makes a signal by creating a small fire with her hand, which alerted other Titans who where hinding behind some stones uphill.

Beetle: "They're ready."

Robin: "They're slow."

BB: "I hardly had time to answer a post."

Velocity: "I told you to leave your phone at the tower, god dammit!"

They all went down as they joined the trio as they are now have their backs facing the cliff as Nightwing looks up.

Nightwing: "It's a tough climb, especially in this moonlight."

Starfire: "Nightwing."

Nightwing: "They're bound to spot us."

Red Hood: "Uh, bird man, you deaf or something?"

Starfire: "Nightwing."

Nightwing: "If we wait for those clouds - -"

Starfire: "Dick!"

As Starfire yelled, Red Hood took Out one of his guns and with the handle of the gun hit Nightwing  on the head which worked as Nightwing finally was out of "bat-mode".

Nightwing: "Ouch! What?

He asked confused as he looked at Starfire.

Starfire: "Terra is taking us up there."

Nightwing: "She is?"

He asked with more confused face then previous one.

Terra: "Yeah, I do all the dirty work around here."

Red Hood: "Totally no pun intended."

Red Hood sarcastically whispered which earned some snorts from others as Terra walked over to opposite cliff. She then started using her earth manipulation power as she made up the path in the mountain.

Terra: "Going up."

She said as everyone started to go into the hole while Nightwing had surprised look before smiling as Raven put a hand on his shoulder.

Raven: "You've been gone a long time, cowboy."

Aa she moves past him, Red Hood walks to him.

Red Hood: "(whisper) Sooo, will you finally propoused to Kory?"

He asked which caught Nightwing off guard before responding.

Nightwing: "(whisper) Y/N, you know that's not what is."

Red Hood: "(whiper) I know, but who invites a normal girl to live with him like that?"

Nightwing:" (whisper) Hey, Kory isn't normal woman. She's special."

Red Hood: "(whisper, sighs) I guess Bruce was a really bad mentor in realtionships to you."

Starfire: "Let's move you two."

She called as they both entered the hole which then Terra closed, closing the light to enter, so Starfire again made a fire to shine as they are moving up by Terra levitating the ground on which they were standing on.

But as they were moving up, scarab on Blue Beetle started to beeping and blinking, totally not liking their current situation.

Beetle: "Quiet down. The bug is nervous."

Raven: "I'm not feeling too good about this myself. How come you're so calm?"

Raven asked as she looked at Red Hood who had his arms crossed on his chest, who didn't even flinch as they were moving up.

Red Hood: "I've already been dead, so, if I die here, it would be an downgrade for me."

He told her as then the mountain shaked as some rocks fell on scarab, which finally pissed it off as it shoot out 2 stingers. One went towards Raven, but she created a astral sheild which blocked the hit and second one nearly hit gar but turned into an fly in last second.

BB: "Hey!"

Betlee: "Scarab, stop."

Robin: "Control that thing, beetle, or I'll control it for you."

He threatend as he was preparing to pull out his sword as both of them stared at each other with annoyed looks, but Red Hood intervened as he serparated both of them.

Red Hood: "Hey, calm down you two, will you. I don't want another dose of alien laser hit me again."

Raven: "You're going to have a sword fight in here? How about some place roomier like a broom closet?"

Red Hood: "Not helping."

He gave her the look as finally Starfire and Nightwing stepped in.

Starfire: "Everyone, calm down."

Nightwing: "The enemy is above us. You have to channel all your thoughts to that. Remember, these opponents are different."

He stoped as he turned to look at Kory who was giving him a warm smile.

Nightwing: "Uh, as Kori will tell you."

Starfire: "No, keep going."

Nightwing: "I've been studying them since I left the titans. They're zealots, extremists. They've sacrifice themselves without hesitation to get to you. So, the quicker we take them down, the better. That about cover it?"

Starfire: "Very well said."

Red Hood: "That's oversimplification of events, but yes. And their leader is probably thinking his Gandalf."

He said as he did eye roll on his helmet, but then he realises as everyone was looking at him, especially Nightwing.

Nightwing: "How do you know about Gandalf?"

He asked his younger brother, as Red Hood prepared himself before saying.

Red Hood: "Yes, I read the Hobbit, 2 years ago, when he came back from his exile on Dagobah."

He told him as Nightwing got even more surprised as Damian had most angriest and confusing look on his face ever, while Gar and Velocity, also known as two geeks of modern culture of the team, had most impressed looks on their faces.

Velocity: "Did you just made up a joke out of LOTR and Star Wars?"

Then mountain shaked even more as Terra struggled to keep the stones from not falling on them.

Starfire: "Terra, can you do this?"

Terra: "Yes, if you'd all shut up."

She exclaimed as soon after they finally stopped as Terra took a breath as she put her hands on her knees before looking up at others.

Terra: "We're six inches under the floor. Who wants to knock?"

Above them, in the base, HIVE guards were moving creates in lifting carts. Then underneath one of them, a Bolt was shoot as it sended the cart into the air, knocking it over. From the hole, Starfire flied out as she started shooting her bolts at the HIVE solider, who took cover.

Starfire: "Titans, go!"

She yelled as one of the soliders tried to shoot her from behind, but she turned in last moment, dodging the laser before blasting that solider into a wall.

From the hole, gar first came out as an hawk, before turning into an rhino, then followed by Blue Beetle and Robin who jumped out thanks to help Velocity, who then speed past them and finally, Nightwing and Red Hood who got flied up and then thrown by Raven as then they all started to charge and fight every HIVE solider they came upfront.

Terra comes last as she lifted herself up with her powers. HIVE soliders shoot at her so she made a wall as she then slides down as she takes cover from the lasers.

Terra: "Thanks for getting us into the impenetrable H.I.V.E. base, Terra. Yeah, you're the best."

She sarcastically told herself as one HIVE solider came behind the corner, ready to shhot her, but he got kicked by gar who was an goat towards another solider, this time, with 2 knives, running towards 2 titans.

BB: "This bad guy is yours, mama."

He told her as he then morphed into an hawk, escaping the hit from the solider, who then went for Terra, but Terra just stand up and with her powers, kicked the solider with the wall stone away. Robin grapples down as he throws 2 batarangs which knock down 2 soliders as Red Hood shoots 4 soliders in the head with his guns, loaded up with rubber bullets.

Starfire: "Terra, stay with us."

Starfire tells Terra as she flies foward.

Terra: "Like I couldn't take out all these jokers by myself."

In headquaters of the base, Mayhem, the asisstent of Brother Blood, watches on the secruity cameras as Titans are beating living shit out their men.

Mayhem: "We've been compromised. Abandon the base."

She told her companion as they started to leave the bridge. Back to Titans, Beetle charges with a sheild covering himself as he and gar, Beetle with a sword and gar as gorilla, take down 2 soliders. Terra and Starfire fly down next to gar, beetle and Nightwing as then an solider was kicked past Raven as Robin lands next to her and Velocity comes speeding in her speed force and stops on Raven's left side. But they didn't notice that someone was missing.

Robin: "They prepared well. Their reaction time is much better."

He told, as he fought some more trained enemy then just Gotham's thugs.

Nightwing: "Robin, stop complementing the bad guys. But he's right. Be ready for anything."

He told the team as then doors open, revealing 3 exo-suits robots with laser guns coming from Bay-12.

BB: "These dudes must buy their bad guy stuff in bulk."

Velocity: "I would say from amazon more."

Then the exo-suits started shooting lasers at them as they took cover behind two shelfs with boxes, Starfire and Nightwing on one shelf and All other titans on other one.

Nightwing: "How about we do that move you taught me last weekend?"

He asked which Starfire got diffrently than what he meant.

Starfire: "Now? I admire your boldness, but what will the team think?"

Nightwing: "What? No, not - -"

He stutters before realising the mistake he said.

Nightwing: "Okay, you got me.The training move, please."

But then they heard big explosion. They all looked up from the cover and saw one exo-suit was destroyed. They then saw Red Hood on the rafter above with an rpg in his hand, as the smoke was coming from the the rpg, which means he destroyed the exo-suit with an rpg.

Red Hood: "Vel, if you watched Empire strike back enough times, then you know what to do!"

He yelled as he picked up an big a harpoon that he then shoots into one of the exo-suits and the harpoon swirls around it legs, blocking from moving, but not from turning around as two exo-suits started shooting at him as he jumped down on the rafter.

Titans got out of the cover as they saw the opening. Velocity as Red Hood told her, speed to the harpoon which was around exo-suits legs and then proceded quickly to swirling around 2nd exo-suits, now making both of the suits stuck in place.

Raven shot her magic at one of the laser guns, which allowed Robin to easly cut it off and then for final punch, gar morped in the mammoth crashed into the suits, drstroying them as then turned to his hunam form. Everyone then looks up at Red Hood who stands up by holding to tge railing on the rafter.

Nightwing: "How the hell did you get up there without us noticing!?"

Red Hood: "I was trained in stealth by Batman and All Caste. What do you think how?!"

He responded, holding two fingers up, reffering to the detective and the monks. But he didn't notice 2 soliders coming on his right, ready to shoot him, but Raven turned into her Raven astral form and went straight at the two soliders, crushing then through the wall, but also she nearly hit Red Hood who nearly fell of the rafter if he didn't shot his grappling gun which sticked to the wall.

Red Hood: "Shit, that was close."

In one bay, another exo-suit loaded last crate into a truck as 2 soliders next to it closed the door as Mayhem and her companion watched.

Mayhem: "Get in the truck."

She ordered as the two proceded to get into a truck, but before she entered to the driver seat, she took out her gun and turned to the two soliders.

Mayhem: "Your service has come to an end."

Then she shot then, killing them, as their bodies fell dead cold on the ground.

Mayhem: "Bless you all."

She said, as then truck sped of Out of the base on the road into the light. As truck moved away, two legs are seen to approuch the dead bodies, as it was revealed to be Red Hood as his eyes on his helmet narrowed.

Back with Titans, a box was throwen at two solider as they were sent flying down the hall as Titans run foward. Then Nightwing stoped and saw an open doorway and also saw the headwuaters straight aged of him, as he decided to run towards that.

An group of last HIVE soliders try their last effort to stop the titans, but they were no match as titans started beat them easily, but then scarab started to shoot from it's laser can on which hit the soliders, but nearly hit his teammates also as they ducked to not get hit.

Velocity: "Whoa!"

Beetle: "Watch it, dude. Those are my friends."

Robin: "At least act like you're trying to keep your parasite in line, beetle."

As they continued to Fight, gar dropped down one of the soliders as a beat on the ground. He roared before turning to his human form as Terra was standing behind him.

BB: "That was unbearable. Get it?"

He said as he looked at Terra, obviously trying to impress her.

Terra: "Seriously?"

She asked as she dud the eye roll, totally not impressed with his pun.

Nightwing in the hallway knocked out the guard on the computer pad as Starfire flied next to him as Nightwing started to hack into the system.

Then Starfire blasted one guard who nearly shoot them straight into a wall.

Starfire: "Could you not leave yourself open like that? I worry."

Nightwing: "I'm sorry, babe."

He said as he got denied on the computer.

Nightwing: "I've been doing a lot of thinking lately."

Starfire: "About what?"

He then turned and saw another guard coming, so he threw a batatang which hit the guard into head, knocking him, as batarang flew back to Nightwing as he put it back into his belt as he then also managed to override the system, opening the doors as they procede walk towards it.

Nightwing: "I think we should take the next step in our relationship."

They stoped as they saw couple of annoying guards aiming at them and then start firing at them.

Nightwing: "To be continued."

Starfire then blasted them all way as they enter the headquaters.

Back with others, Terra just slamed the rock at the final soliders left standing. Gar behind her, morphed from mammoth into an monkey as he jumped on her back and had a phone in his tail as he took the picture

BB: "Say cheese, and post."

BB: "Hey, how about a movie tonight?Whoa!"

But Terra grabed him by his tail and threw him off her.

Terra: "Keep moving, Magilla."

Raven and Velocity walk over to Robin, looking at knocked out HIVE soliders.

Robin: "The base is ours."

Robin said on the coms as Nightwing started to transfer all the information on his USB.

Starfire: "So, what were you saying before we were interrupted?"

Nightwing: "I - -"

Before he can say, others came into a room as they stand on both sides of the two in the middle as he sighs as Starfire looked at him curious to what he has to say.

Nightwing: "Okay, good a place as any. I got an apartment in the city. I hoped, maybe, we could share, you know, together."

He explained as he then took out an small backs which surprised others.

Beetle&Velocity: "Oh, snap!"

Starfire gasped as he took the box. When she opened, in the box was a key to the apartment.

Terra: "No rock? That's so lame."

She said, dissappointed.

Starfire: "On Tamaran, everyone would gossip. So it's a good thing we live here."

She then huged Nightwing which took him off guard, but he returned the hug back smiling.

BB: "What I'm getting is that they're too good to hang with us."

He said as Raven turned to him.

Raven: "Yeah, that's the takeaway."

Then gar got an nottification on his phone as he went to check it.

BB: "Hey, I'm over a million followers!"

He exclaimed happyly, but then Velocity pointed something out.

Velocity: "Uh, guys, where is Y/N?"

Everyone looked around the room and indeed, Red Hood was no where to be seen.

Beetle: "He done it again. This is 2nd time in less then 30 minutes. How does he always does that?"

Robin: "He said himself. I thought you would get used it by now."

Beetle, BB&Velocity: "We didn't!"

They yelled in fusion as Nightwing went to his come.

Nightwing: "Red Hood, copy, where are you?"

After few second, Nightwing made an shocked look on his face, which didn't go unnoticed by the titans.

Nightwing: "You did what!?"

10 minutes ago

The truck was driving on road, as Mayhem was relaxed that they escaped from the Titans. That's what she thought.

Then on the rearview mirror, she saw someone on the red motorcycle, following them. It was the Red Hood.

Red Hood tried to approuch to the driving seat of truck, but Mayhem turned to the right, trying to get Red Hood off the road. Red Hood thought fast. As Mayhem was going to do it again, Red Hood pulled the brakes, as truck went passed him and was now infront of him. He then shoot the grappling hook on the truck as he pulled himself off the bike onto the back of truck.

Red Hood then climbed onto the Truck and proceded to walk over to the front, but then someone dropped onto the truck infront of him. It was Ronin.

Ronin: "Long time no see?"

Red Hood: "You again, so I guess my theory was right, you are working for Blood."

Ronin: "Only for the money kid. Totally not personal."

Ronin told him as Red Hood caught on his sarcasm.

Red Hood: "You talk to much."

Red Hood then run up at Ronin, throwing a punch which actually caught Ronin off guard as he got punched into face, but was quick to recover to block 2nd and 3rd punch, but not 4th which set him off balanced.

Red Hood was going to knock him out, but Ronin swoop his legs as both were now down. Red Hood tried to get up, but Ronin kicked him on his helmet with his leg, which sent Red Hood falling off the truck, but he caught himself by the edge.

He tried to not fall off the truck, when Ronin extend his arm towards him.

Ronin: "Grab my hand!"

Red Hood of course had some doubt about it, but it was better of the falling of the truck. He grabed Ronin's hand as Ronin pulled him on roof of the truck.

Red Hood: "Why didn't push me off? Don't you want me dead?"

Ronin: "Of course I want you dead, but not like this."

Then Ronin threw Red Hood over his shoulder on the ground and dislocated his shoulder.

Red Hood: "Argh!!!"

He screamed in pain as Ronin lower down to his ear level.

Ronin: "But that doesn't stop me from hurting you. Stop the truck!"

In command, truck came to stop, as Ronin picked Red Hood up.

Ronin: "Oh, and one last thing."

Ronin then pushed Red Hood off the truck as he fell on the ground as he screamed again on the impact.

Ronin: "You were right this hole time, Y/N."

He told him as truck droved away, leaving Red Hood laying on the road, with an dislocated shoulder. But he could care less about his shoulder as he was confused about what Ronin just told him. Right about what?

Nightwing: "Red Hood, copy, where are you?"

Nightwing got him out of his thoughts as he groaned while tapping on his com.

Red Hood: "I may or may not have just followed the truck and got into a battle with Ronin to now lie on the road with a dislocated shoulder."
