Chapther 10 - The Rescue and Reveal

Y/N POV

After I taken Damian to Wayne Manor, I came to hospital to meet with Dick to see how's Luke's father.

I was currently walking the hall, wearing a hoody and a red mask which covered hole face, because my red helmet would be very easyly spoted, even with a hood on.

As I was passing one of doors , I was grabbed by my jacket and pulled through those doors into small room and pinned to a wall. The person who did it was Dick as he closed the doors and stared at me with pissed look.

Dick: "You said you don't kill anymore. Then why did you kill him!"

Dick said angrly, obviously talking about Electocutioner, who is now dead.

Dick: "We had a deal!"

Red hood: "To my defence...be gratefull kid is still alive."

I said as I removed his hands of me. I had a voice changer in my mask.

(voice is like from red X when Robin was wearing red X suit in teen titans 2003 show)

Red Hood: "I wonder how you would tell Bruce that another Robin is dead... and Batman failed to save him... again."

I told slowly but and coldy as Dick just moved away.

Dick: "Just... let's go."

Dick moved towards the doors and exited as I followed, like nothing happened.

We then came to the entrance into a room where now in it Luke is holding his father's hand

I lean on the wall, crossing my hands as Dick walks to Luke and puta his hand on his shoulder.

Dick: "I'm so sorry, Luke."

Luke: "That's all you have to say? I was in the vault, Dick. I know."

Luke responded back more aggresivly.

Dick: "Listen, I don't think this is the time."

Then Luke gets up and faces Dick, now stanfing higher then Dick.

Luke: "My dad might feel difrently, if he could talk"

Then he sighs as he walks over to a window and leans on it.

Luke: "I came home from one war, only to walk right into another one. And I want to be a part of it.

Then he turns around and walks back to Dick.

Dick: "Best way to help is right here, at your father's side."

Luke: "I'm a solider, Dick. I need to be on the front lines, not stuck in some lab or boardroom or freakin' bedside chair."

Red Hood: "That's a nice chair thought."

Luke: "And last night, I saw The weapons that could help me. Weapons that my dad created and almost got killed for."

Dick then comes closer to Luke and puts both of his hands on Luke's shoulders.

Dick: "No, Luke, listen. I understand, I really do, but it's not my call. Not right now. Things are complicated. Trust me okay."

Then Dick gets a call.

Luke: "Dick - -"

Dick: "Alfred.. I'm on it."

After few seconds, Dick hangs off the call.

Dick: "I got to run. I'm sorry."

Dick tells Luke as he walks towards edit but stops and turns his head to me.

Dick: "Wanna join?"

Red Hood: "Pass."

I responded as he just nods and walks away. I turned to Luke who is staring at me.

Red Hood: "How does it feel? To know the truth?"

I bluntly ask him. But he doesn't respond as he just stares at me.

Red Hood: "You know, Dick's right. You better stay by your father side, because you won't find better one."

He just looked at me puzzeled.

Luke: "You know Dick. Robin. Batman. My father. Me... Who... are you?"

I move from the wall.

Red Hood: "You... don't want to know..."

I say as I turn and walk out of the room.

[TIMESKIP]

Later that night, I was informed that Damian was kiddnaped, so Dick picked me up, with Kate, both in their suits.

I was in backseat realoding my guns, as did Kate, with Rubber bullets, as se were heading towards monastery where GPS showed Damian was hold in. I was wearing my helmet, but the mask because if Bruce there too, I didn't want to be seen like that... yet do I told that Kate and Dick.

Dick: "Good thing Alfred had The foresight to put a tracker on the kid's uniform"

Dick smiled. He smiled?

Dick: "The sisters of Perpetual Grace."

Dick stated as now infront of us was the building.

Dick: "A respected religious order with missions across the world."

Red Hood: "Thanks Mr. World Wide."

I sarcastickly comment as Kate turns to us.

Kate: "Perfect front for criminal scumbags."

She muses. Then suddenly bullets were fired at the batmobile, as I see... nuns on top of their roof...with guns? Totaly sisters of mercy who had no mercy shit.

Dick then pressed down a button making small missiles cure out from the sides as they collide and exploded at the building and exploded the locked gate ahead of us.

Dick swerves the car into a stop as Kate, Dick and I jump out and land on the ground. Then nuns surrounded us from all sides and roofs.

Kate: "This isn't gonna be easy."

Red Hood: "No shit."

Then nuns take out katanas and M60s.

Kate: "Nuns with M60s and Katanas?"

Kate questions as three of us get into fighting stance.

Dick: "That would make them nunjas."

Red Hood: "Really!?"

I yelled at horrible pun as nuns charge at us and some started shooting from above.

I flip away and roll to the side and tackle a nun near me, before I take my pistol and shoot another nun into face.

I dodge incoming sword attack as I punch at the nun's stomach before doing an uppercut and sliding over to join Dick and Kate as I shoot at the nuns as Kate was also shooting at them with her own pistols.

Kate: "Kind of hate I let you two talk me into using rubber bullets."

Just as she said that I look up and see Firefly and Moth coming at us.

Moth drops a bombs towards us.

Red Hood: "Move!"

I yell as three of us jump away in time as bombs explode. I see then Firefly in front of us, about to shoot his flamethrower at us, when suddenly a weird glowing batarang hita his jackpack and Firefly is sent flying straight into building.

???: "Looks like you could use a little help."

A voice spoke out, as I look up to see a guy dressed in an armoured suit with a machine bat wings and a light up blue bat symbol on his chest plate.

Red Hood: "Are they just handling out bat suits to people, now? Aw man."

I muse out and groan as now the guy I know by the voice is Luke lands infront of us, as his wings retrach back into his back.

Kate: "Hello nurse."

Dick: "Luke?"

Kate commented as Dick quizzes.

Luke: "You want a megaphone to announce that? Call me Batwing."

Luke replies as he turns around and shoots out these light blue batarangs from his arm, knocking a few nuns.

Kate: "Batwing? That's original."

Kate scoffed.

Red Hood: "And I'm Redwing."

I bluntly and sarcastickly commented as nun comes close to me but I just jump into the air  and karate chooped the nun in the neck, before ducking down from an incoming punch and kicked nun in the stomach.

Dick: "Can't say I'm not glad to see you."

Dick stated as now all of us fought of crazy babysitters. Not long after, I saw Firefly get back up and fly around shooting bullets at Luke as he had The air duel with him and Moth.

A nun shoots her gun at me at close range, but I avoid bullets as I slide towards her and swipe her legs as sve falls on the ground and I kick her gun away.

Another nun came up behind me and had a sword at my throat, I stuggle to not get sliced, as then I manages to flip the nun over my shoulder and quickly take out my knife and aim it at the nun's face, as that said nun was about to get up and attack me, but she stayed down as I have her my batglare from time I spend asRobin, even with the mask, my domino mask was visible underneath it.

Red Hood: "I would stay down, if I were you."

I hiss with coldness, as I see nun starts sweating from my threat.

Red Hood: "Because trust me... I'm in no mood to be playing these pathetic games."

I add, venom in my tone. If someone could see my face right now, they would see how stoic and deadly I looked.

The nun just nods as I lower my knife and not even seconds later she gets up and runs away.

Red Hood: "Criminals today."

I turn around and walk over to Dick and Kate as Luke lands infront of us.

Dick: "Can you blow up those doors?"

Dick asked but Luke doesn't respond as I see small rocket launchers appear on his shoulders.

Red Hood: "Cool. Now we have Metal Man Bat."

I joked.

Luke: "God's not going to like this."

Luke informed as I scoff.

Kate: "I don't think she's been here for a while."

Red Hood: "I'm atheist. Just blow them."

I ordered as Kate and Dick gave me a look. Luke followed my command either way as he blasted the doors down as Dick and I quickly run inside, not wasting anytime. Then ground shook.

Red Hood: "This can't be good."

I commented as then someone kicked on the ground. I turn around and see
Hellhound as he jumps and agily tried to hit Dick but I punch Hellhound away as Dick gets up and three of us stand into fighting stance.

Hellhound then decided to show off by spinning and doing clips in his spot, as he looked at at us with a smirk as I mentaly facepalm.

Then a rubble from the roof falls on him, killing him.

Red Hood: "Huh, that was easy."

???: "Come on, father."

I hear a familiar voice behind us as Damian dressed up as Robin, helping Bruce, who is in just a boxers, to walk.

Dick and I run over and help Damian walk Bruce towards the exit.

Dick: "How are you?"

Bruce: "In one piece which is more than I can say for this place."

Bruce commented as I stayed silent.

Red Hood: "Did he just make a joke?"

We continue to walk up the staircase, when suddenly some rocks and rubble collapsed down on us. Dick was fine but me, Damian and Bruce weren't as we were falling down The side. I grunt as I shoot my grappling gun and the rope hooked o to something, as I quickly catch Damian's hand as he cathches Bruce's hand and I heared Damian grunt as he struggles to not let him slip from him as I can feel Dick was hoisting the rope up.

But then suddenly, the platform Dick was standing on crumbles and all of us felled. Then I felt someone grab me by the hoody as I look up and see Luke had Dick caught me by hoody as he was caught by Luke who also held Bruce and Damian who was hanging on Bruce's foot.

Luke flies up and I see Kate smilling in relief when she saw our figures. Luke then settled us down, as Dick dropes me from holding my hood, as I do a foward roll on the ground and get up as I sigh, caughting my breath.

Red Hood: "Thanks for saving our butts back there Luke."

I thanked as I stand near Kate and Dick.

Luke: "Yeah, too bad they got away."

Luke responds, as he was referring to villans.

Luke: "Well, Dad always wanted me to work with Bruce Wayne. I'm pelud to be a part of your team."

Luke says as I nervously sweat under the mask.

Bruce: "We can handle this on our own."

Then Bruce states as he starts walking towards Batmobile as he felt... off to me.

Bruce: "Nightwing, Robin, back to Gotham."

Bruce ordered as I see Dick narrowing his eyes and lightly scoffs.

Dick: "You're welcome."

He bitterly says as I narrow my eyes at Bruce, because he never would act like that.

6 days later

THIRD POV

Red Hood is seen standing on top the building, looking at the streets in night time, wearing his red helment.

He has kept the promise. He left as he promised. He knows soon enough that Bruce will try to find him, but Bruce felt off to him that night. He didn't look...Batman to him.

Then he hears someone landing behind him. He takes out his pistol and turns as he aims his gun, but sees Damian in his Robin suit.

Red Hood: "Jeez, don't do that."

He said as he lowered his pistol and put it back to onto the belt.

Red Hood: "What are you doing here?"

Damian: "Patroling."

Damian said with no emotion on his face.

Red Hood: "So why stop then. Go on, don't waste your time."

Damian: "Aren't you gonna ask how's father?"

Red Hood: "Oh, I will when he comes looking for me!"

He say as he points one of his fingers towards himself. Seconds past and Damian didn't left.

Red Hood: "... If you are here to arrest me... fair warning, you'll try."

Damian: "Maybe you are smart enough, but you never had thought enough why I am here, have you?... Y/N."

Red Hood's eyes on the helmet widen in shock, but didn't say anything.

Damian: "Mother told me what they did to you and I know why are you doing this; so you can replace me."

Damian tells as Y/N stepa back.

Y/N: "No...you don't understand. I - -"

Damian: "Well? Do you think you can take the mantle from me? Do you think you can steal my legacy?"

Damian fired as he walked closer to Y/N, looking straight into his eyes.

Y/N: "I-I have to go."

Y/N turned and was ready to leave, but Damian put his hand on his right shoulder stopping him.

Damian: "You will address me now, Todd! I am the heir to the Wayne name! I am the son of the Bat!"

He yelled, demandind to confront him.

Y/N: "I don't need a Robin meltdown right now."

He said calmly.

Damian: "I am - - GAH!"

Then Y/N grab him by his hand on his shoulder and throw him over and pinned him on the ground. He takes off his helmet as he has pissed off face but domino mask on, gretting his teeth as he stares at Damian who is shocked, suprised and little scared by the sudden move.

Y/N: "You're a self-absorbed twelve-year-old with ragging hormones and all the patience of a kid on christmas moring."

Y/N stated.

Y/N: "You don't think I understand how it's to be like you, a kid trying to fit into a costume that don't quite suits us."

Damian got puzzled.

Damian: "...What?"

Y/N: "I had nothing... until Bruce took me in, made me Robin. I finally had a roof over my head. Only way to repay him was working hard to become Batman, because I knew from the start Dick didn't wanted to be him, so that was my goal, to be there, to replace Bruce when he steps down as Batman, to took his place and him feeling proud of me as his son."

Y/N gulps as he continues.

Y/N: "When I died, they finally realised their mistake. For not begin there when I needed them the most. Now they are trying to do that for you and you aren't caring about it, you're not respecting their help..."

Y/N lets go of Damian as he stands up.

Y/N: "If you continue like this, you will end like me. You'll become more of failure then I ever did...so...please, don't be... me."

He turns and starts to walk away but freezes when he looks up as his heart skips a beat.

Right infront of him is standing Dick in his Nightwing suit, shocked and speechless.

Dick: "... Y/N?... How?"

Y/N steps backs as he puts his helmet on.

Y/N: "I'm sorry..."

Then he throws the smoke canister as smoke rises up.

Dick: "Y/N, no! Wait!"

Dick runs up into smoke where Y/N is standing, but runs into nobody. When smoke clears, Dick sees Y/N on other side of the street, grappling away as he turns the corner and dissapers.

Dick turns to Damian who is still sitting on ground, stuned and still shocked too... as single tear rolls down his cheek.
