The rest of the school week passed by slowly, but finally, it was Friday. You arrived at school ten minutes before the first bell would ring, and Caroline immediately greeted you with a huge smile. "Hey bestie," she said, walking you to your locker. "Someone's happy today," you teased. "I met the most amazing guy last night," she told you.

"Really?" you asked. "Yeah, he's strong and sexy, and hot. Hotter than Stefan," she told you, making you laugh. "Well, then I have to meet this guy. What's his name?" you responded. "Damon, and he's coming to cheer practice tonight. So, you can meet him then," she told you. "Wait a minute, Damon, as in Stefan's brother?" you questioned.

"Yep, I can't wait for you to meet him. Anyways, I need to get to class early. I'm failing history," she told you. "Yeah, okay, I'll see you at practice," you told her. She nodded her head, gave a small wave goodbye, and then walked to class.

The bell rang soon after and you went to the chemistry classroom, smiling as you saw Stefan, you had gotten to know each other a little bit better this week, and he seemed like a nice guy. You were glad you guys were friends. "Hey, Stefan, how are you?" you asked. "Couldn't be better," he replied with a large smile.

You could see right through him. "Who's the girl?" you asked. And he gave you a questioning look. "You look like a little boy who just received a puppy, and high school guys only get that look when they are with a girl, so who's is she?" you explained. "Elena," he replied.

To say you were shocked would be an understatement. "Awe, you guys would be a cute couple," you told him, making him chuckle. "Thank you, she's amazing," Stefan replied and you smiled at him. "I'm happy for you guys. I just wish my love life was as good as all of my friends," you joked.

"All of them? Who else is in a relationship?" he asked. "Caroline," you responded with a small smile. "Really?" he asked, surprised. "Well don't be so shocked, it's not the weirdest thing for a guy to like Caroline," you teased, and Stefan defended himself by saying, "No, that's not what I meant, I just meant that usually when a popular girl like Caroline gets a boyfriend, the entire school hears about it."

"Well, she just met him last night, so wait until Monday. I'm sure the news will be circling the school by then," you stated, laughing. Stefan let out a small chuckle too, and said, "Yeah, I guess. Who's the guy anyway?" You paused for a moment and then said, "Well, I'm not 100% positive, but I think it's your brother."

Stefan's eyes went wide with shock and he asked, "What?" "You didn't tell me your brother was back in town," you said. "Yeah, he came back a couple of days ago. Who knew he would already have a girlfriend," he replied with a half-hearted laugh.

You nodded your head and responded, "I guess he knows his way with women." Stefan laughed a little and replied, "I'm not going to deny that." You laughed at his remark, and then the teacher began class. The rest of the class period went by slowly, and the rest of the day went by even slower. But, at last, the final bell rang.

You left your last class and walked to the locker room. You quickly changed into some shorts and a tank top and made your way out to the field where cheer practice was going to be. The rest of the cheerleaders were already there and they were stretching. You started stretching with them as well, when suddenly Caroline squealed, "There he is!"

You looked up and saw a light blue Camaro drive in and park next to the field. "Come on, Y/N, come meet him," Caroline told you, as she ran over to the car. You looked at your cheer squad and said, "Um, I guess just practice our regular cheers. I'll be right back," you told them, running after Caroline.

You approached the car, and Caroline and her boyfriend, Damon, were already standing outside of it. She was keeping his eyes glued to her, so he didn't notice you approach them, but suddenly, Caroline focused all of her attention on you, making Damon look at you, and when he did, you could see his facial features, and Caroline was right, he was definitely hotter than Stefan. You and he just continued staring into each other's eyes for a few moments, as if you were both frozen, both stunned.

"Damon, this is my best friend, Y/N. Y/N, this is Damon," Caroline introduced. You were the first to speak between you and him. "Hi, it's nice to meet you. Caroline has told me all about you," you said with a smile.

"All good things, I hope," Damon joked, and you chuckled, but before you could reply, Caroline said, "Awe, I could never say anything bad about you." Damon gave her a small smile seeming as though he had forgotten she was there, as if you were the only person he saw for a few moments. You once again looked into Damon's blue eyes, and the curiosity was killing you, so you finally asked, "I'm sorry, are you Stefan's brother?"

He nodded his head with a smile and asked, "Do you know him?" "Yeah, we have a couple of classes together," you replied. "Well, then I'm sorry too," Damon joked, making you laugh. Caroline laughed along too, a little too loud.

You then said, "Well, I should get back to practice, but it was nice meeting you, Damon." He nodded his head, and replied, "Yeah, you too. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of each other...with you being Caroline's best friend and all." "Yeah, absolutely," you responded with a large smile, and then you went back to your cheer squad. You didn't know why, but you and Damon instantly hit it off, and you were really happy about it.

Damon's POV:

I have one goal here in Mystic Falls -- bring my love, Katherine, back. All I have to do is find her tomb, and use a witch to bring her back to me. That's it, and that's exactly what I'm going to do. And luckily, I know of a witch in Mystic Falls...Bonnie Bennett. Okay, here's the plan: get Bonnie to fall for my charm and then use her to bring back Katherine.

No, wait, that won't work. The Bennett witches are smart. Bonnie would never fall for a guy like me. Besides, if she fell for me, then why would she help me bring back the love of my life? Okay, new plan: get together with one of her friends, and make that friend fall in love with me.

Yep, that one will work, it had to. My brother would be of no help. He would never want to bring Katherine back, not to mention the fact that he hates me, but I can't say the feeling isn't mutual. Although, hate is a strong word. I would just say that he is the cause for all of my unhappiness. Anyways, that's not the point. Right now, I need to see who's friends with Bonnie.

So, I got in my car and drove to Mystic Falls High School. I scouted the place for Bonnie, and I finally found her. She was walking with a blonde girl. She was good-looking, so I wasn't complaining, and she was desperate for a man. Perfect. I followed this girl to the Mystic Falls Grill, and she looked somewhat upset.

I sat down at a table across from her where I could see her face perfectly. Then, I waited a little while for her to be alone, and as she looked up, I smirked at her and motioned for her to come over to me, and she gladly did, my plan was working amazingly.

I found out that her name was Caroline and we spent the rest of the night getting to know each other, and I'm not talking about having a talk that lasted the entire night - we were using our lips.

The next morning she woke up and told me that I had to meet her best friend, Y/N. I was reluctant at first, I didn't want to meet any more people than I had to. I just wanted Katherine. But, I had to make Caroline happy to use Bonnie, and if this is what I had to do to make Caroline happy, then it's what I would do. "Okay, when can I meet her?" I asked.

She thought for a moment before replying, "Today, after school, at cheer practice." "Okay, I'll be there," I responded and she smiled largely back. "Okay, I'll see you later," she said, and then kissed me before she left.

I spent the rest of the day, looking around town, and by the time I was done, Caroline's cheer practice was just about to start. I got in my car and drove over to the school. As I pulled up to the school, I saw the cheerleaders stretching, so I parked my car near the field.

Caroline immediately started running up to me, and I got out of the car. She pulled me into a kiss as soon as she reached me. She kept her hands placed on my cheeks not allowing me to look anywhere else but at her. I could hear someone approaching us though. After another moment, she let go of me and looked at the person.

I soon followed Caroline's gaze, and I saw the most beautiful girl standing there. Even more beautiful than Katherine. My jaw hung slightly open as the girl and I made eye contact. "Damon, this is my best friend, Y/N. Y/N, this is Damon," Caroline introduced, and Y/N and I just continued to stare into each other's eyes as if we were in awe of each other.

Y/N was the first to break the silence as she said, "Hi, it's nice to meet you. Caroline's told me all about you." "All good things, I hope," I replied, trying to get her to smile, which proved successful as she let out a small chuckle. Caroline then joined into the conversation, and I didn't even pay attention to what she said, I just gave her a small smile, and reverted my eyes to Y/N, wanting only to talk to her.

"I'm sorry, are you Stefan's brother?" she asked as if she was a little bit nervous to do so. I nodded my head in response and asked, "Do you know him." She replied by saying, "Yeah, we have a couple of classes together." I smirked a little and wanting to see her smile again, I told her, "Well then, I'm sorry too." This made her laugh and it sounded like music to my ears.

She then said, "Well, I should get back to practice, but it was nice meeting you, Damon." I nodded my head in response and told her, "Yeah, you too. I'm sure we'll be seeing a lot more of each other," because I wanted nothing more than to see her again, but since Caroline was there, I quickly added, "With you being Caroline's best friend and all." "Yeah, absolutely," she responded with a large smile, and I smiled back.

She went back to her cheer squad after that and Caroline said goodbye to me, kissing me again. I left shortly after and only had one thing on my mind for the rest of the night -- Y/N.
