41- Devil's Adrenaline

The earlier incidents had left the she-devil insane enough for Seokjin to find the metal hot, so he took his aim and struck it seeing his chance.

With her sanity gone, all she saw was taking revenge, when how where, and nothing mattered anymore, she wanted it now even if she had to plunge her hands into thorns she wouldn't wait anymore. Yes, a foolish mistake indeed.

The atmosphere hung eerily still, like any other meticulously planned raid executed by her, the one and only, Venom. Silence enveloped the surroundings, the heated stillness in the barren warehouse remained quiet. Yet, fate had a wicked sense of humor, who liked drama and a lot of it of course.

It was one call from the handsome male with broad shoulders, Kim Seokjin and Venom had left the embrace of her lover as if it meant nothing.

After all, revenge is a bitter sweet addiction.

Seokjin had sent a war strike alarm to the she-devil of hitting the KNIGHTS since according to his sources they had found their target in solitude. What an easy path? A bit too easy to be real right?

However, what appeared to be an unforeseen setback was, in fact, a precisely designed part of Seokjin's grand plan to capture the she-demon. Countless nights forwent to sleeplessness, and days slipped away in a haze of restless contemplation as he devised against her. With a predator's gaze, they watched the lioness, fully aware of the looming feast that awaited them once it succumbed to their control.

You are done today, Venom. Done for good.

Thought Seokjin as he watched the dark angel shoot his men down in front of his eyes and run further toward the vehicles to get out of there.

You need to learn that you are a demon and that demons have no place on Earth but hell.

His gaze bore holes in the back of her skull as she ran forth while reloading the chamber of bullets in both handguns.

You need to pay for what you have done and your deeds now need to be taken into account.

At times oh how Seokjin wanted to just grab her by her hair and fire multiple bullets into her head until her skull is filled with nothing but metal death. Oh! how much he wanted to ease the demons haunting him in his days and nights equally just because this twisted creature named Venom existed. Oh! how much he wanted to end it once and for all.

But he better knew! An open action will only mean more harm to the only purpose of his life. The devil's eye will chase them even after their generations because that's how the demon with hazel eyes taught them.

To make those shed blood tears who step in her way.

To make them curse the day they were born and brought into the world.

To make them shiver under her name and die with her one single glance.

That's how she loved to watch her prey suffering and she lived for it. She did!

"FUCKING HURRY" Seokjin was abruptly yanked from his thoughts by her urgent command, her scream piercing the air as she rallied her men into action. Without hesitation, she seized Seokjin by the shoulder, dragging him into cover behind her.

Moments like these left Seokjin pondering upon the nature of her character. Did this demon still has a speck of humanity left, a vessel to care for others? Or was she simply a creature of madness and cruelty, living in the chaos and destruction she wrought? He couldn't help but recall the unsettling sight of her maniacal laughter as she mercilessly tore apart her preys, those crimson sprays of blood felt like alcohol to her. She was undeniably insane, yet there was something disturbingly alluring about her madness.

He understood all too well the reason behind her fierce protectiveness of her men especially Min Yoongi and Jeon Jungkook—they were her like her hands, extensions of herself. Each one, a web of power and influence. Without them, she would not perish, but she would be weak and vulnerable, stripped of her immortality.

Today, he was ready to hunt the lioness and destroy her constructed empire piece by piece. He vowed to sever her head and strip away existence because that was the only way he could protect his brother. It was a mission fueled by a desire for protecting his brother, and probably to avenge the angels she callously devoured.

Seokjin watched the dark angel darting amidst the rain of bullets, making a beeline for the vehicles to escape the place since the tables turned a bit too quickly. A pang of disappointment flickered across her features, she was indeed not expecting such stupidity from him, his failure to prepare for the raid properly—especially, to encounter the larger-than-expected enemy they faced.

Yet, it was no mistake for Seokjin. After all, this was all part of the plan with one purpose in mind: to bring her downfall. Why would he let drop his own plans to her that solely involved her destruction?

"GET ON" Yoongi screamed as he hopped onto one of the jeeps breaking through the dashboard to spark the ignition in the stolen rover, he immediately pressed onto the race and drove the jeep forth with a loud growl.

Venom swiftly hopped into the second vehicle, settling herself low in the seat as she deftly fidgeted with the wires. Meanwhile, watching this he stepped forth prepared to join her, reaching for the back of the jeep's support. However, before he could climb aboard, a large hand grabbed him from behind that belonged to none other than Jungkook. His rough grip tightened onto Seokjin's shoulder, halting him in his tracks.

Startled, Seokjin turned to face Jungkook, meeting the intensity of his gaze. Behind the mask, Jungkook's eyes bore into Seokjin's soul, a silent warning lingering in their depths. Both silently accepted the hate they had for each other along with the lack of trust, obvious tension crackled in the air between them.

"You are coming with me, Kim"

"Of course"

With a firm grip on Seokjin's jacket, Jungkook hurriedly led him towards his own vehicle. Deep down, Jungkook always felt a sense of unease whenever he watched Seokjin close to Venom. Despite his efforts to earn their trust, there was a strange feeling that lingered, when he caught his lingering gazes at her. Jungkook could discern the odd feeling that oozed from those stares—they were not born of love, but rather of something darker, something sinister.

He knew deep down that Venom was better off alone, and so he dragged the danger away, oblivious to the cunning move Seokjin had planned, subtly he attached a tracker chip to her vehicle before as Jungkook started to drag him away.

It was not a chase but an escape for the Devil's Eye yet they never knew the enemy had dug its tentacles deep through the path they were running on. Sudden shower of bullets rained on them and of course, the vehicle to the most right was targeted, after all the tracker was placed for this purpose alone.

"Shit" Jungkook pressed down on the race with Seokjin in the back pretending to be on their side watching his own men track down the preys he targeted.

"How the hell are they spotting her? They're targeting Venom! Cover her!" Jungkook's voice thundered with frustration as he watched Seokjin's do absolutely do nothing.

"I'm trying! There are just too many of them!" Seokjin shouted back, pretending to struggle with gunfire.

"Fucking bastards," Jungkook muttered under his breath, his anger boiling over as he reloaded his gun. Taking aim, he shot a long range of bullets, targeting the enemy vehicles. It screeched to a halt, speeding out of control and colliding with another, setting off a fiery explosion that engulfed those inside burning to crisps. Seokjin's jaw clenched tightly in silent fury at the grim end of his men.

Without Seokjin's help, the two brothers still managed to bring cover to the she-devil, giving the lone fighter a hand. But it didn't help much when the tailing monsters followed like frustrated bees ready to sting.

As they reached the four-way square, Venom saw an opportunity to escape with her agents into the populated area, the reckless chase went along the dark roads leading towards the city. It was the route to shake off the tails among the bustling morning crowd.

Seeing this, Seokjin signaled to his men, indicating that it was time to set their plan into motion.

Cut off the demon's hands.

On his cue, the enemy vehicles drove towards the right of the roadway targeting one jeep solely occupied by the she-devil. Seeing this Yoongi huffed in annoyance not expecting this level of mind from the enemy.

"The hell?" Yoongi growled, his frustration boiling over. "They're targeting her alone—damn bastards!" His vehicle trailed closely behind that of his brother, as Yoongi took a sharp turn. However, as they glanced to their right, their voices caught in their throats as they watched the third vehicle speeding off into another direction, veering away completely.

"FUCKING HELL" Jungkook cursed watching her vehicle to ride down the west road with a huge tail following closely. His heart jumped in his throat now realizing that this all was a trap solely spread for the she-devil.

That satisfied smirk that spread across Seokjin's face didn't go unnoticed by him as he watched the reflection of the handsome male go ugly against the smoothness of glass.

Meanwhile~

"Son of a bitch," Venom cursed as the gunfire intensified from behind, sending her side mirrors flying off her jeep. The relentless heavy bullets gradually started to pierce through the rear of her vehicle. Glancing into the rearview mirror, she caught sight of the thick tail of enemy following closely, it was time to take everything in her own hands.

Her actions were swift and decisive. With one foot off the brake pedal and towards the windshield, the heel of her boot crashed fiercely into the glass. In an instant, the windshield cracked and shattered, shards of glass cascading down as she slid back into position, gripping the steering wheel tightly with both hands.

With a harsh turn of the wheel, she brought the vehicle to turn midway facing her enemies, the tires screeching loudly as the jeep spun around, the sound echoing through the void. Ducking her head down, she aimed her guns out towards the front and left a machine gun to spring into action, the sharp screeching sound of tires and collision of vehicles boomed outside leaving a smirk to play across her lips. They thought they could corner her and take her down. Of course not! With her grip loosening on the wheel now, the vehicle skid forth and ran down the curves of the concrete leaving the chaos behind enough to cause some distance between her and the foes.

Pressing down on the accelerator, she forced the jeep to run down the road fast. The gunfire behind intensified, the bullets piercing through the shattered glass of her vehicle and metal structure, leaving the girl to duck her head as she raced onward, focusing on evading the tails at any cost.

"ARGH!" Venom screamed in agony as the bullet tore into her shoulder, followed by another grazing her back and digging deeper as it pierced through the shattered glass at the back of the jeep. Blood seeped fiercely from her wounds, staining her clothes as she groaned in agonizing pain.

"Fucking dickheads!" Venom spat through gritted teeth, her body wracked with burning agony. It was no time to mourn over the pain if she needed to save her breaths so she continued to race forward followed closely by the foes.

The jeeps drew closer, slamming into the rear of her vehicle with a jarring impact that caused her to lurch forward in her seat, avoiding slamming her head into the steering wheel by a mere inch. Growling in frustration, she retaliated, opening gunfire at full.

As they entered the main roads of the city, the chaos intensified. The KNIGHTS vehicles pursued relentlessly, weaving through traffic and exchanging gunfire amidst the screams of bystanders. With her rearview mirror knocked off, Venom strained to glimpse her pursuers, her senses heightened as she prepared for the next onslaught.

"MOTHER FUCKERS, SONS OF SLUTS, I WILL FUCKING RIP THEM ALL TO PIECES, HOW DARE THEY THINK THEY CAN TAKEOVER THE DEATH" She growled in anger while firing bullets and busting tires of vehicles behind, watching them roll off the road.

Yet still there were loads more left and of course, they outnumbered her.

Her gaze darted back and forth between the road ahead and the jeeps trailing behind her, her breaths ragged and labored. The sensation of blood cascading down her back felt like a downpour, soaking her clothes and weighing her down. Her eyes began to grow heavy, fatigue setting in as the numbness crept up her limbs.

Glancing back once more, she observed the enemy. It seemed as though they were hell-bent on bringing her down today, no matter the cost. The Vehicle started to skid a bit as she was losing grip on the wheel and her consciousness. It was then that she saw a child run across the roadway. She should have knocked him over, she shouldn't have gripped harder on the wheel but how could she? He was just an innocent child. Her vision blurred, the world around her fading in and out as she shook her head and blinked, trying to regain focus.

"J-Jihyun?" She muttered a curse and slammed on the brakes, wrenching the vehicle away from the child, whom she mistook for her Jihyun. But in her panic, she lost control of both her senses and the jeep, which skidded towards the left side of the street and collided with a delivery truck. The impact was brutal, causing the front of the jeep to smash into the side of the truck, rupturing it, and sending both vehicles sliding forward.

Meanwhile, the child who had darted across the road now watched in horror, clutching her legs tightly. With the traffic signals now green, cars abruptly came to a halt in the middle of the road, their occupants stunned by the sudden crash before them.

A trembling hand, smeared with blood, emerged from the wreckage and clutched onto the twisted metal. With a great effort, the girl with hazel orbs pushed herself out of the mangled mess and collapsed onto the ground, her face meeting the concrete. A gash split open above her brow, blood seeping down her temple, while crimson stains spoke of the many injuries.

She groaned and gasped for air, each breath ragged and heavy as the warmth drained from her legs with every passing moment, causing them to grow increasingly unsteady. Pressing both palms against the ground, she struggled to rise. Stumbling forward, she collapsed onto her knees before the child, who still clung tightly to his mother, watching the girl with fear in his innocent eyes.

"Jihyun-ah?" Venom murmured, her voice barely above a whisper, as she reached out to caress the child's cheek, leaving a smear of blood in her wake. The woman, startled and alarmed swiftly pulled her child behind her. Confusion furrowed the she-devil's brow as she gazed at the mother with heavy eyes, then back to the child before her, realizing it was not Jihyun, she had mistaken him for her little angel.

A pair of strong and rough hands grabbed her from either side and pulled her up, was she caught? Did the foe already reach to bring the dark fate? She couldn't decide, the figure who held her was cloaked as it continued to drag her nearly limp existence out of the chaos.

Amidst the chaos, she heard them, screaming and shouting through the crowd, the KNIGHTS men.

Wait- If that's- then who is this? She craned her neck with an effort to look at the one who held her hostage yet she was forced to look forth, a hand pressed against her the blood oozing wounds of hers while the other held her close, the figure pulled her away into the shadows from the preying eyes of the enemy.

Meanwhile~

Lucas kicked at the now-ruined remains of the jeep, frustration boiling within him as he found it empty, save for shattered glass, a blood-soaked seat riddled with bullet holes, and the twisted skeleton of the vehicle. There was no sign of the dark angel he had been pursuing on his boss's orders.

Clutching at his hair with both hands, Lucas fought against the rising tide of despair threatening to consume him. How had she managed to slip away once again?

"She's bleeding... She can't be too far! SPREAD OUT AND FIND HER!" His voice boomed, his command echoing through the chaos. Before the police could reach the scene, darkness seeped through the cracks and holes, leaving the humans to contend with the aftermath of the havoc it wrought.

So many greens here and there, that she couldn't see anything else through her blurring vision, and then out of nowhere the once supporting existence now pushed her into the shrubs.

"W-wait, who is it? Sh-show yourself" Her blurring vision hid the nameless figure leaving barely a silhouette or was it just the black spot tricking her into believing what wasn't there?

Forcefully, she pried her eyes open, her gaze darting around her surroundings and it latched toward the balcony of the nearby house, a memory stirred within her..

Why does it look so familiar?

The porcelain balcony with glass walls and greens planted in pots struck a sense of familiarity within her.

It looks so familiar.

The thought struck her like lightning, igniting a spark of determination within her. Gathering every ounce of strength she had left, she clutched at the bushes and anything else within reach, she staggered forward toward the balcony.

Of course, the lion won't look in its den for prey, right?

Heaving herself up and over the balcony railing, with a pained whimper, she tumbled onto the balcony floor. The sudden noise caused the boy within, with his big, beautiful eyes and boxy lips, to lift his head from his books in surprise.

It was only fair for him to be surprised to receive fate's tarot card. But, he never expected to be swept away by a huge storm so soon.
