Chapter Five

Chapter Five

[Justin's POV]

"Where the hell were you?" I get screamed at straight as I step foot into my house.

I pull my hood down from the top of my head then run my fingers through my hair. My fingers get slightly caught because my hair was already in a mess. This is why I hate wearing hoodies or snapbacks. They make my hair a mess.

Alfredo stands in front of me with anger in his eyes. You could see the fire burning inside of him.

"I was out." I simply answer, brushing by him into the kitchen. He follows me.

"And exactly where did you go?" he presses.

I get into the fridge and grab a bottle of water. I never did get my coffee back at the coffee shop.

Then Selena appears in my mind.

I'm not the type of guy to fall head over heels for a girl at first sight. Well for one, I don't even believe in love at first sight. I don't believe in love at all. I've never felt it or seen it. And I don't plan on it either. I can't lie, she's a beautiful girl and I'm more than positive that she probably has a boyfriend. Not that I'm actually interested in her, though. I don't date and for obvious reasons.

There's something about her that makes my body be on full alert. She had almost caught me last night when she saw the swings on fire at the park and then again today I think she was on to me. But, how does she know? Has she seen me on the news?

Okay, maybe I'm just paranoid.

She didn't even recognize my face from last night. Yeah, I'm just paranoid. I hope...

"Earth to Justin!" Alfredo snaps his fingers in front of my face.

I blink my eyes a few times to get back to reality. "I went to Liam's."

Alfredo's eyes widen. "What the fuck were you doing over there?" His voice is louder now.

"I told the asshole to give me my money!" I yell.

"Whoa, what's going on?" A sleepy Ryan comes into the kitchen. He rubs the sleep out of his eyes as a yawn escapes his lips.

"Dumb shit here went to Liam's." Alfredo rats me out.

"What the fuck bro?" Ryan says.

"Would you two calm down." I say. "Nothing happened between us. I just gave him a warning."

"A warning? For what? Justin, you're going to get us killed." Ryan crosses his arms over his chest.

"We have taken care of the last three people that he wanted gone. He hasn't paid us for the job yet and I don't know about you but I would like our money." I take a sip of the water.

"He'll pay us sooner or later." Alfredo explains.

"I want it now." I snap.

"You know better to go over to his place without us by your side. You could have gotten yourself killed if you pissed him off." I roll my eyes.

"I doubt he would kill me since I'm the only one who actually does the work around here. You two just help me get what I need. He would kill one of you before ever thinking about killing me." It was the truth. Liam needs me more than these two.

"Just because you escaped jail four years ago and haven't got caught yet doesn't mean you're better than us." Ryan gestures between Alfredo and him.

"But I am better than you two." I'm not full of myself because it's a fact. When they can escape jail and not be caught I'll be impressed.

"You're a dick." Alfredo remarks.

I shrug not giving a flying fuck what he thinks of me. "Okay."

"What did you say to Liam?" Ryan changes the subject.

"I warned him that if he doesn't have our money by tomorrow somebody's going to get hurt. And it's not me." I say.

"He's our boss, Justin. Not you." Ryan points out the most obvious thing in the world.

"I think we should just wait for the money. Besides, we don't even need the money that bad do we?" Alfredo asks.

"Until he pays us I'm not doing anymore of his dirty work." I take another sip of the water as I walk into the living room.

I sit down on the couch and grab the remote. I turn the TV on and it's on the news. Of course, the topic they're currently talking about is what happened earlier.

"Police officers found another killing down town. The scene was a mile away from a small coffee shop. One of our newscasters went inside and asked a few costumes if they heard or seen anything suspicious." the news lady says.

My eyes widen at the TV screen when I see the one costumer they of course had to ask questions to.

"Did you notice anything suspicious?" the newscaster asks.

"No." Selena says into the camera. "Everything around here seemed normal. Nothing gave me the intention that something was wrong."

"Did anyone come inside the coffee shop who looked like they were up to something?"

Please don't mention me. Please.

"No. It was mainly older people who was coming inside." I let out a breathe I didn't even know I was holding.

"Who's the hot chick?" Ryan asks, a whistle escaping his lips.

"She's a babe!" Alfredo chimes in. "Maybe I should go down to that coffee shop more often."

I feel my hands clench into tight fists as I stand up from the couch. When I turn around to look at the boys their face expressions change dramatically.

"What?" Alfredo asks.

"Stay away from the coffee shop. Stay away from her." I warn him.

"Why? Do you know her?" Ryan asks.

I bite my lip. "It's none of your business."

"Justin," Alfredo puts his hand on my chest as I try to walk away. "You know the rules. Stay away from her."

I push his hand away. "I don't have feelings for her! You guys know I don't get myself attached to anyone. And I'm not stupid enough to let some chick get in the way of everything."

"I'm just saying." I roll my eyes.

"Where are you going now?" Ryan asks as I head towards the door.

"I'm going back out." I say opening the door.

"Don't go back to Liam's!" I hear them yell at me but I'm already out the door before they can stop me.
