It was midnight, and the Dark Hood was brooding on the edge of a skyscraper, looking down at the city. I looked down at the streets and saw nothing but scum.

What caught my interest was a black van rushing down the street.

Interesting... I jump off the skyscraper as I speed down to the van. I immediately deployed my parachute when I got close to the ground. As I got closer to the truck, I took off the chute and landed on top of the van.

I smashed the windshield and pulled out the passenger by the neck and looked at the driver.

"Stop the car," I demanded. The driver gulped and did as I said.

As the car stopped, I jumped off the van then pulled the driver out of the window. I threw the two into an alley.

"What's in the van?" I questioned the two men.

They didn't answer me. I grabbed the driver by the collar and dragged him to the back of the van. I made the man get up in his feet and pushed him towards the back van door.

"Open it," I ordered.

The criminal gulped and opened the back van doors as I saw crates inside.

I pushed the man inside. "Open the crates," I said as he nodded.

I opened the crates as there were military-grade firearms inside. Before I can knock out the man, I heard a gun cocked as I looked behind me to see the other man pointing a handgun at me. I raised my hands, fake surrendering as the man approaches me. As he got closer, I swatted the gun out of his hands and punched him directly in the face, knocking him out cold.

Later, I tied up the two culprits and left before the police arrived. I'm on top of another building, sitting on the edge of the building. I took off my cowl and looked down at the city. I sigh to myself.

I felt vibrations in my pocket as I pulled out my phone. Claudia was calling me. I sighed again and answered her call.

Cardo: Yes, Claudia?

Claudia: Master Ricardo, where are you?

Cardo: I'm at Leon Enterprises.

Claudia: Really? I called the secretary, and she said you weren't there. I called Bang to look for you

Cardo: Damn... I must go.

Claudia: Ricardo, don't you dare hang up!

I hung up and started calling Bang. He keeps using his powers, and it got the government after him. Bang answers the phone.

Cardo: Why are you looking for me?

Bang: *chuckles* I just wanted to check on you, bro.

Cardo: I can take care of myself.

Bang: Without guns?

Cardo: Shut up.

Bang: *laughs* Sorry, sorry. I was just worried.

Cardo: *sighs* is that all?

Bang: Yup. Once the government stops coming after me, I'll finally come back home.

Cardo: Hopefully. I have to go.

Bang: Night!

I hang up and put my cowl on and jumped off the building before grappling up to another.

Somewhere Downtown

Two men in masks were dragging another man who struggled to get out of their grasp.

The masked men take the poor soul to an alley where another man leaned on a black car.

The masked men forced the man on his knees as the man looks at the other man who approached him.

The alley lights showed the man's face, revealing his muscular and scarred face.

The man looks at him in shock. "M-Mayor Trust, I-I would never betray you, I swear!" The man looked terrified.

Mayor Trust glared at the man. "No point of defending yourself." He crouched down a bit. "Your wife told me everything."

The man looked at Mayor Trust. "What did you do?" He asked in fear.

"Simple really, I threatened to take away your kids until she talked." He answered.

"Don't hurt them, please!" The man begged.

"I won't." Mayor Trust puts on a brass knuckle. "It's too bad those kids will grow up without a dad."

The man's eyes widened as Mayor Trust starts beating him to death.

Next Morning

I was working on my equipment in the cave until Claudia came down an elevator and walked towards me, holding a cup of tea. She handed it to me as I kindly take it.

Claudia looks at me. "Are you all right, Master Ricardo?" She asked.

I sighed as I put my grapple gun down. "No... no, I'm not." I answered.

"May I ask why?"

"I need evidence against Mayor Trust before I can take him down."

I drink the cup of tea then put the cup down to work on the grapple gun again.

"I understand you want him to pay for what he did, but shouldn't you focus on what Bang is going through?" Claudia said. "They are still after him."

"Bang has superpowers; he can handle himself." I look at my grapple gun again. I look at Claudia, who has her hands behind her back.

"Master Ricardo. If you do get the mayor behind bars, will you stop?" She asked.

I sighed again. "I don't know," I answered. "All I know is that people are plaguing the city while the authorities turn the other cheek."

Claudia became quiet as she left back up to the manor. I rubbed my eyes. When will it end?
