Chapter 18: Lavender Kisses

Sabrina's hectic day had come to an end, but her night was just getting started. Ryder and Lupin had escorted her throughout her photoshoot and a magazine interview for Harry Winston. She had a splendid time today that it almost felt surreal. More than that, she couldn't believe that she had mated with Gabriel. It was more than what she imagined, it was perfect, he was perfect.

"Ready to go?" Ryder asked Sabrina.

"Yeah," she got in the car with them and they drove her to her own house.

Sabrina had bought Ashley's gift earlier today, during her lunch break. Well, she bought more than just one gift; it was more like a few dozen of the sexiest accessories for Ashely. She knew that her friend would adore them.

Sabrina told Ryder and Lupin to wait in the car, she just had to change her clothes for the party. But they didn't listen to her, they walked into the house together. Her house was dark, no lights on, but the dusk sunlight streamed through all the windows giving bountiful light.

"I'll be ready in fifteen minutes," she promised not to take more time than that. Thankfully, Carlo already did her makeup for the shoot, so she didn't have to change anything about herself, just her clothes.

Sabrina ran up the stairs to her bedroom when she stopped dead in her tracks.

Sabrina opened her bedroom door and found a sight to behold. A trail of rose petals, small candles created a border on each side. Her whole bedroom was covered in small photos, candles, amongst the rose bouquet on the table was a massive portrait; it was hand-drawn. Sabrina's heart hummed, she couldn't believe her eyes right now. Was this Gabriel? she wondered. When did he even do all this?

The trail broke when she took a few steps inside. She grabbed the little note that was perched onto of a bouquet of roses. She flipped the note wondering what Gabriel had planned.

I know your secret. But I promise to keep it, if you'll be mine forever.

Sabrina's gut sank when she read the note. Her hands shook, her skin turned cold and she called for Ryder and Lupin as loud as she could.

The boys bolted up the stairs and entered the room.

"Oh my god," astounded Ryder.

Lupin gaped at Ryder. "Oh my god." They looked at each other. They both exclaimed dark, mean profanities.

"Who did this?" asked Lupin.

Sabrina's heart stopped beating, she knew someone had entered her house again. The same person who had killed Richard Brady had gotten into her house.

"Call Gabriel," said Ryder. "Scratch that, call everyone."

Sabrina moved past them. She opened her balcony doors and in the darkness of the trees she saw a bulky figure, black clothes and something shiny glinted when it hit the light. "He's still here," she swallowed the tightness in her throat.

Ryder pulled her away from the balcony and brought her back inside. He looked outside to where she saw the person targeting her.

Gabriel, River, Hunter, Vincent, Klaus and Azura's whole team had arrived. They hurried up the stairs and towards Ryder and Lupin. Gabriel rushed into the room, his face concerned more than angry when he spotted her. Sabrina's whole control failed in front of him, she ran into his arms and he pulled her out of the room alone. He shielded her away from the sight behind them and he calmed her with his voice.

"I'm here, baby," he whispered. He hugged her tightly. "I'm here."

Sabrina's eyes stung with the threat of tears. "I thought it was you," she said. "I thought-"

"Shhh-" he calmed when he heard her hurting voice. Sabrina held onto him tightly.

"Gabriel," said Ryder behind them.

"I can't go back in that room," said Sabrina.

"Okay," Gabriel kissed her head. "I'll only be a few moments," he whispered. "River, Klaus." The two walked out from hearing his voice. They didn't need any words to know that Sabrina needed them.

"Are you okay? You're not hurt, are you?" Klaus asked concerned.

Sabrina shook her head, but she couldn't find her voice. It was sudden when she found herself in River's arms, protecting her. Sabrina hid her head down, she almost dropped to the floor if River hadn't held her so warmly.

"Your family's here," whispered River. "You don't worry about a thing now." Sabrina bit back her tears. She hugged him back, her hands gripping into his leather jacket.

Vincent and Klaus took her downstairs. The waited right by the stairs, she didn't dare sit down with her body about to give up on her. Her beautiful home was becoming a sinister hole, that wasn't hers anymore. Her wolf was angry and shattered that her territory, which was meant to keep her safe had been molested with darkness.

It was a long while when Gabriel came down the stairs towards her. He looked into her eyes like no one else ever did or would. His golden gaze melted her layers that weighed her down. "Everything's been cleaned up," he told her carefully. "I need you to pack some of your clothes. Can you do that?"

Sabrina really didn't want to go back into that room. But she understood that she needed to get out of here and so did everyone else. "Come with me," she whispered.

Gabriel smiled sweetly. "I was already planning on it."

He took her upstairs again. She barely looked anywhere in the room, but it was clear that the roses were gone, so were the candles and photographs of her. She grabbed the duffel bag and quickly packed some clothes, her shower supplies and makeup bag too. Sabrina didn't forget to grab her wolf plushie that she won at the carnival. Gabriel grabbed the duffle bag from her, he held her hand before they returned downstairs.

"Let's go," he told everyone waiting by the door.

Sabrina sat in the car with Gabriel. "I was really excited for the baby shower," she groaned.

Gabriel's hand was still intertwined with hers. He brought her hand to his lips, leaving her to smile just a little bit. She leaned her head back, it was odd how drained her body had gotten after what just happened. But Sabrina didn't close her eyes to get some rest, she left them lingering on Gabriel because watching him was all she could do.

They arrived at the Centauri property. The gates opened but they hadn't taken the usual path. Gabriel turned the car towards a route that descended down, they reached another pair of gates that opened and all the cars echoed through a tunnel. The cars came to a stop in an underground parking lot.

Sabrina got out of the car. "You have an underground parking area?" she astounded.

He nodded. "Saves more space near the house when guests arrive," he said.

Gabriel took her to the stairs with the rest of the pack. They discussed the incident from earlier, but Sabrina leaned on Gabriel and everything muffled out. She took the strength that Gabriel gave her and relaxed. She was safe here and with Gabriel, that's the only thing that convinced her to calm down.

The news had reached Viola and Hailey too. They waited on the porch of them house for all of them to come home. As soon as they spotted Sabrina, they sighed in relief.

Hailey hugged Sabrina. "Are you okay?" she asked.

"Yeah," she told them, all of them. "Look, I don't want to ruin Ashley's night, so let's ditch the sad faces and get back to the party. Okay?"

Sabrina turned to everyone that was standing on the porch with her. It was an odd sensation that every single wolf that stood here felt the same as her. They were angry and sad with her, for her. Sabrina's lips lifted into a smile when she remembered what she had gained, despite the problems.

"Please, for me," said Sabrina urging them to smile once again, which they did.

Hailey took them all inside to help finish putting up the decorations. Sabrina noticed when Azura had left with her team.

Erasing all thoughts, Sabrina entered the house that looked absolutely adorable for the baby shower. The living room had been completely rearranged. All the couches had been pushed back leaving bountiful space for the decorations. One entire wall was covered in lavender roses and silver, purple balloons of all different sizes; it created a rainbow over a single white chair, that had a mom-to-be sash ready to go for Ashley.

Sabrina finally smiled out of excitement. "This is adorable," she said.

"Viola and I worked all day," said Hailey.

Hunter walked by with a heavy box of confetti. "Er-" he raised a brow.

Hailey laughed at her mate. "Hunter helped too."

"Oh, the gifts," said Sabrina. But it was like Ryder and Lupin had read her mind. They walked into the house with all her bags and boxes. "You two are the best." She grabbed it and put it where the rest of the pile had turned into a mountain now.

"Oh no! I forgot a dress," exclaimed Sabrina. This night couldn't get any worse, and she possibly couldn't wear what she had on, since it wasn't even white or something pastel, it was all black, including her blouse and pants.

Viola sauntered into the living room. "What are we here for?" she remarked. "I can fix you right up."

Sabrina and Viola went together and Gabriel came with her duffle bag of belongings, but he went to his room where he took her stuff with him. It was nice to know that he found it normal for her to stay in his room with him. Viola opened her entire closet and told Sabrina to take whatever she needed. Sabrina picked the first lavender dress she saw and didn't waste Viola's time being picky.

"Thank you," said Sabrina.

"It may be a little tight, since you have wider hips than me" said Viola. "But it'll still look hot on you."

Sabrina hugged Viola. "You're the best," she said.

Viola patted her back. "We're glad you're safe," she said. "Now, go get ready. The other girls will be coming soon."

Sabrina returned to Gabriel's room. She closed the door and searched for her duffle bag.

"It's on the bed," Gabriel came out of the room.

Sabrina nodded. "Thanks."

She got ready as fast as she could. Like Viola said, the dress was much more form fitting on Sabrina and shorter than she preferred, but it was still very beautiful. The spaghetti straps held the lavender dress securely, the dress shimmered softly and it hugged the curve of her waist and round hips. The dress stopped around the middle of her thighs. She ditched her flats and put on a pair of black sandals she brought along with her, which she was glad she had. She opened her hair and let the heavy curls fall down her back.

She had put her makeup bag on the bathroom counter and the rest of her stuff. Sabrina put the duffel bag on the floor near the bed and the wolf plushie was on the bed too. She returned to the lounging room where Gabriel was waiting for her. She had stopped in her tracks, he was dressed casually in black shirt and jeans, but he was still breathtaking.

"Don't just stand over there, come here," said Gabriel making her blush, he kissed her until she was a puddle of jelly. "I've wanted to do that ever since I saw you," said Gabriel.

Sabrina leaned into his arms. "If we start we'll never make it downstairs," she said.

Gabriel laughed. "I was planning on making you late for the party," he said.

"No, I can't be late again," she said. "And boys aren't allowed in the house, so you need to leave before Ashley gets here."

"You're going to get it, Sabrina." A low rumble came from his throat as he nibbled on her collarbone. "I'm going to take my time loving you, and then when you think you can't take anymore, I'm going to fuck you so hard that there'll be no doubt left in your mind that you belong to me."

"What about the party?" she asked.

Gabriel smiled sexily. "After the party then," he said.

Sabrina wasn't calm now, she was going to be nervous the whole party because Gabriel was waiting for her later.

They went downstairs together. Hailey was busy keeping the boys away from all the desserts she baked, which was almost impossible. Hailey eventually had to give in and she gave them a large plate full of blue and pink coloured cupcakes to get them off her back. Finally, Gabriel pushed all of them out the door and promised Hailey that they wouldn't disturb the girls.

The ruckus grew outside on the porch when Isaiah's family arrived. Zeiden and Ronin joined beside Vincent and Ryder, they had grown quite fond of each other. Lazarus came up behind them with Adrik who was holding a white box.

"The gangs back together," said Zeiden.

"Did you miss us?" Ronin asked them.

Vincent scoffed. "You wish."

Ronin smacked Vincent's shoulder. "You totally missed us," he laughed.

"He did miss all of you," commented Klaus exposing his brother to Ronin and Zeiden.

"Where's Zachariah?" asked Lazarus.

"He should be here," said Hunter.

"Speak of the devil," Zachariah appeared with his brother Victor.

"We're still waiting on Alec and Vadik," said River.

"They better come tonight," said Zeiden excitedly. "I want to challenge them again."

Alec arrived with Vadik. "Bring it, kid," said Alec before he came and greeted Gabriel.

Zeiden and Ronin, Lazarus and Zachariah tried to get inside the house to get a glimpse of the party, but Gabriel stopped them. Evangeline smacked her husband's shoulder telling him to stop and leave. She was dressed in a cute lavender dress, that had a tight bodice and a skirt that flared at her knees.

"Why isn't mom staying here with us?" Dimitri asked his dad.

"Because mommy doesn't like us anymore," said Zach with a pout matching his son.

Evangeline kissed her baby's cheek and then her mate's. "You two behave and take care of Victor," she said. She waved behind her and sauntered into the house. The girls' excitement could be heard from inside the house to the porch.

"Where's Isaiah and Ashley?" asked Klaus.

"They should be here," said Lazarus.

Isaiah and Ashley came up the porch dressed for the party. Well, Ashley was always dressed up for any occasion, she didn't need any excuse. And Isaiah was always in a suit no matter what happened in his life. But he had ditched the jacket and tie, exposing all his tattoos.

Sabrina walked onto the porch smiling happily at her friend. The girls hugged. "Everyone's inside waiting for you." Sabrina ushered the lady of the night into the house. Hailey and Viola helped with the bags and grabbed the cake box from Adrik. Everyone entered the house leaving the guys on the porch kind of looking lost and dejected.

Sabrina turned and faced them, they looked rather pitiful in a cute way. "Have a great night, boys," she said with a chuckle before she closed the door behind her. Sabrina joined the girls in the living room.

"You look stunning, Ashley," Viola hugged Ashley close.

"Thank you," Ashley blushed a sweet smile. She adorned a beautiful lavender gown, that had a sweetheart neckline and flowed down to the floor around her lavender heels. A lavender headband was tied on her blond hair, that was curled stylishly.

"Where's Azura?" asked Ashely.

Viola, Hailey and Sabrina exchanged a worried look. "She's getting some work done for Gabriel," answered Viola elusively.

Ashley and Evangeline frowned. "Is everything okay?" asked Ashley.

"Nothing to worry about," reassured Viola. "Just some pack-related stuff. She said to start without her."

"When's the due date?" Sabrina asked trying to divert their attention.

"Next month," said Ashley. "I'm terrified but can't wait to see my little baby."

"Okay, let's get her to her seat," Hailey put the silver sash over Ashley and took her to the white chair. "Do you have the water, Evangeline?"

Evangeline handed a container she brought earlier. "Here," Viola took the jar from Evangeline.

"What's the jar for?" asked Sabrina.

Hailey brought a bowl as silver as moonlight. "It's purified moon water," said Hailey. "The elders from the pack told us that during the last phase of pregnancy. The woman's feet need to be soaked in lunar light. That way, she is blessed with healthy and safe delivery by our goddess, Maya."

"The baby is born healthy and the mother is protected too," said Evangeline. "Also, it helps the wolf spirits during transition."

"I didn't know this," said Ashley.

"Neither did we," said Viola. "Evangeline told us first."

"Okay, let's get started," Evangeline got on the floor near the bowl and Ashley's feet.

Sabrina helped Ashley take off her heels, she wondered how the woman was still able to walk around in these tall shoes. But Ashley made it look easy. She put the strappy heels on the side. Ashley put her feet into the silver basin, she lifted the hem of her dress out of the way. Evangeline poured the purified water into the bowl.

"What are the flowers for?" asked Ashley.

"It's to remember our goddess," said Evangeline. She grabbed a stemless flower head, carefully she touched Ashley's shoulders with the flower and then she circled it around her. With each flower, Evangeline had completed this process. Then, Viola added the total of eight moonflowers for the full cycle of the moon to commemorate their goddess into the water.

The water flickered to a silver glow, concealing Ashley's feet. All the girls gaped at the magic in front of them. "Is it supposed to tingle?" asked Ashley.

Evangeline chuckled. "Yes, dear."

"This is amazing," said Viola.

"It's a sweet way to end your pregnancy," said Sabrina.

Ashley put her hand on her belly. "I'm getting emotional," she fanned her face.

"Me too," said Viola, Sabrina chuckled. "Guys, I can't cry. I'm an ugly crier." The ceremony ended when the water's glow vanished. Evangeline explained that the magic had seeped into Ashley now. Hailey got rid of the bowl, Sabrina helped Ashley wipe her wet feet at the end.

The front door opened and Azura walked inside. She had changed out of her black clothes and wore white trousers with a corseted white blouse. The woman's black hair was long, straight down her back. She had no makeup on, but she didn't need any, since her sterling silver eyes were striking all on their own.

"Damn, you look good," said Hailey. "See, I told you that you can pull off any colour."

Azura rolled her eyes. "I'll never do this again," she groaned. "This is only for you, Ashley."

"You have to do it for Hailey's baby shower," retorted Viola.

"Oh crap," she groaned. "Please pick a dark colour for your party, Hailey."

Hailey smiled shyly like she remembered a fond memory. "I'll pick red," she shared.

"What about Sabrina?" asked Ashley with a grin on her face.

Sabrina brows shot up. "What about me?"

"You think we didn't notice," grinned Ashley. "When did Gabriel mark you?"

"Last night," Viola had answered with a sly chuckle.

"Congratulations," said Evangeline.

Sabrina blushed. "Thank you," she hugged her.

"I would hug you too, but I can barely stand now that my feet are tingling," said Ashley.

"Oh right, what colour cake did you order?" Hailey asked.

"I didn't order it," said Ashley. "Adrik did."

They all gaped at Ashley.

"Adrik ordered your baby shower cake?" astounded Sabrina. The man who barely spoke and had the attitude of a ferocious predator couldn't possible order a cake.

"He did," said Ashley. "He knows the gender of my baby too, since he's the only one that can keep a secret."

"What gender do you think the baby is?" asked Evangeline.

"I think it's a girl," said Viola.

"It's a boy," said Hailey and Azura.

"I think it's a girl too," said Sabrina and Evangeline.

"I don't know," said Ashley.

"So, do you guys want to open gifts or cut the cake?" asked Hailey.

"Gifts come first," said Viola.

Sabrina helped Hailey bring treats and food to the round table. Evangeline opened the sparkling bottle of non-alcoholic champagne for Ashley and Hailey and them too. They didn't mind drinking sweet juice to support their friends who couldn't consume alcohol.

Sabrina chowed down on macaroons as Ashley went through the gifts. Many of them gifted baby toys, clothes that were all gender neutral and super cute. Evangeline gifted the things Ashley would need after giving birth. Viola and Hailey gifted scrapbooks, a polaroid camera which was the cutest and it was even lavender shade for the theme of the party. Sabrina's gift bags were last and she knew that Ashley would adore her choices, since they were on the naughtier side.

"Oh my god, Sabrina," Ashley blushed, she nudged her friend playfully for being such a tease. One by one, she opened the satin boxes revealing sexy lingerie. The ladies all enjoyed the pristine selection of some bold pieces.

"Weren't Ryder and Lupin with you?" asked Hailey.

"They didn't care much when I was shopping," said Sabrina.

"These are beautiful, thank you," Ashley hugged Sabrina. Azura stepped up and gave Ashley a small lavender box, that had a silver bow tied around it. Ashley opened the box and on a white cushion rested a moonstone pendant. They all gaped up at Azura.

"It's an amulet made from the moonstone," explained Azura. She pulled out the one that was hung around her neck, hidden under her blouse. "It'll keep you safe, like it does for me"

Ashley smiled warmly. She looked down at the pendant. "Thank you, Azura," she started to cry and Azura panicked.

"I didn't mean to make you cry," said Azura and she hugged the woman to calm her down, but Azura's hugs were pretty rare, so that just made Ashley cry more.

"Should we cut that cake now?" asked Evangeline. "I'm pretty sure that Ashley's dying to know what the gender of her baby is."

Hailey was already working on that. She brought the cake that was lavender from the frosting. The cake was two circle tiers, that had candy lavender roses and silver confetti.

"Adrik said that we'd have to cut it open," said Ashley. "The gender is hidden inside with little candies." Ashley squeezed her hands tightly together.

Sabrina put her hand on Ashley's shoulder. "Don't be nervous," she smiled.

"My heart is racing like a horse," said Viola, she was jumping in her spot.

"Me too," said Hailey. "Ashley just hurry up and cut it."

"Girls, relax," said Azura.

Evangeline brought a lighter to light up the sparkler candles on top of the cake. She lit them up and Ashley grabbed the knife from Hailey.

"Here I go," said Ashley.

She sliced down and then the other side, all the girls leaned over eager to check the inside of the cake. Ashley grabbed a plate and pulled the slice out, when bright pink candies spilled out of the cake. The plate dropped and Ashley covered her mouth. All of them broke out in screams and tears came right after.

"A girl!" exclaimed Sabrina. "It's a girl!"

Viola laughed. "Guys, I'm psychic!"

Hailey clapped her hands together. "A girl is perfect for you, Ashley."

Ashley couldn't stop smiling. "I'm going to have a little girl," she covered her mouth.

"Should we let the guys outside know?" asked Azura. "I know they're dying to find out. Before I walked inside they bribed me to give them the scoop."

"I need to tell Isaiah," hurried Ashley.

The girls rushed outside. All of the guys were sitting on the benches outside, drinking and talking away as the girls had partied. The men turned when the girls stood on the porch.

"Did something happen?" asked Hunter.

"You ladies okay?" asked Lazarus.

They all shared a knowing smile before Ashley shouted; "We're having a baby girl!" her pack members got out of their seat and ran towards her. She was huddled between their hugs, when her mate came towards her with the brightest smile, which Sabrina never saw Isaiah Iron smile like that before.

Isaiah swept her into his arms. He kissed Ashley. "A baby girl. We're having a girl."

"Yeah," Ashley laughed and cried too. She was hugged by her pack, and then, she was congratulated by the everyone else.

"I guess we can cut the rest of the cake together," said Hailey.

They all went into the house and cut the cake together. Gabriel came around and put his arm around Sabrina. He was smiling and holding her close to him, she couldn't believe she was standing here with him. Her heart squeezed, she felt a flutter in her stomach when she realized that she loved this family, this pack and her mate. She leaned her head on his shoulder as she watched the pack enjoy the chocolate cake.

The baby shower broke into a party.

The ladies were in the living room showing the gifts as some of the men went into the kitchen to cook a massive dinner. Sabrina helped Zeiden, Ryder and Ronin load up Isaiah's car with all the gifts. She returned to the house with the guys, but she lingered on the porch alone.

"You alright?" asked Isaiah as he returned from his car.

Sabrina looked up at Ashley's mate. "Couldn't be better," she smiled.

Isaiah's silver eyes were attentive to every move, so he'd know if she was lying or faking it. But Sabrina was merely enjoying the night breeze. He returned to the house with Ashley. Sabrina hadn't realized what a long day it had been, her body definitely ached and she was ready to hit the bed after eating dinner.

Suddenly, a pair of strong arms circled around her, she didn't need to turn around to check who had hugged her so sweetly. She leaned back against Gabriel's sturdy chest, his dark scent was more comforting than the full moon in the dark sky.

"Tired?" he asked softly.

Sabrina's head rested on his shoulder. "Hmm," she nodded once.

Gabriel kissed the temple of her head. "Do you remember what you told me before you left for work?" he asked.

Sabrina's eyes snapped open. Of course, she remembered what she had told him. It was the only thing that made her chest squeeze still thinking about it. "Yeah, why?" she asked.

"I didn't get to tell you what I thought," he said.

Sabrina stiffened. "Oh," she mumbled.

"Gabriel, Sabrina!" Vincent called out behind them. "Dinner's ready, come eat!"

Sabrina turned away. Gabriel grabbed her hand, his golden eyes hardened. "We should get going," she smiled, but his frown didn't dissipate. He reluctantly followed her inside and they joined everyone in the dining room. Sabrina may have eaten dinner and enjoyed everyone's company, but she couldn't help but think about what Gabriel wanted to tell her outside.

Midnight was closing in on them. All the pack members prepared to return to their homes. Sabrina helped Ashley to the car as everyone said their 'goodbyes' to them.

"You seem nervous," said Ashley.

"A lot's happening in my life and I feel as if I can't keep up," Sabrina shared.

Ashley nodded. "I know what you mean," she cupped Sabrina's cheek. "But we have our families to help us, right? And now, you even have that sexy mate of yours to help you."

Sabrina's smile shined. "Be safe when you go home," she hugged her friend. Ashley got in the car and Sabrina closed the door. She came back to the house when all the guests left.

"We'll clean the house tomorrow," said Hailey.

Viola and Vincent both groaned. "Let's just hire some people to do it," suggested Vincent.

Klaus looked at his siblings in disbelief. "It's just a few flowers and balloons," he said.

"Yeah, Vince, stop skipping out on your chores," Ryder teased from the seat across Vincent. Vincent grabbed a balloon and smacked it towards Ryder. The massive silver globe smacked Ryder's head.

Sabrina chuckled. "Sorry, that was really funny," she said after.

Ryder grabbed his own balloon and targeted Vincent, but Klaus got hit instead. Sabrina burst out laughing this time. Klaus was going after Ryder when they all slammed into Viola and Azura and they got caught up in the tussle too. Gabriel walked into the room, River and Hunter close behind him.

"It's a little late for a fight," said Hunter.

"Stop acting like you don't want to try it," said Vincent who was wrestled to the floor by Azura.

Hailey walked in and hit a balloon at Hunter, she was the only one that dared. They all burst out laughing, even River. Hunter would've attacked but it was his mate what was he supposed to do.

"I'll handle you later," Hunter loomed over his mate who was still giggling, but it died after she realized what she started with her domineering mate.

"Come on, River," urged Ryder. "We know you want to."

Gabriel grabbed two balloons off the floor and it was like they knew exactly what to do next without a word of exchange. They both aimed and hit Ryder as hard as they could.

"Okay, let's all calm down before this turns into a war zone," said Azura, she helped Vincent off the floor when she got up. "It's getting late, so I'm going to head home."

"It's already a war zone," remarked Ryder who was battered and bruised. All the other members went to their cabins.

Sabrina entered the room and Gabriel closed the door behind him. She knew exactly why butterflies stormed inside her stomach all of a sudden, it was Gabriel that made her weak in the knees.

She looked behind her, the darkened scent of his wolf or him aroused her entire body. Her wolf raked inside her to go to her mate and claim him again. Sabrina's body, surrounded by Gabriel's strong pheromones, was like silk caressed her skin. The lick of pleasure grew like wildfire.

Gabriel hadn't said a word yet, and his quiet mood made her more nervous. He came up behind her, his body's heat radiated around like a hug and she was holding onto it for dear life.

Sabrina turned towards him. His eyes burned great with passion and the same desire that was in her right now and every time she laid her eyes on him. He knew exactly how she felt because he could smell her arousal. Gabriel took her to bed and gave her what she knew was on both of their minds.

Peeling off her dress, Sabrina stood completely naked for his eyes. She had never been more conscious of herself, but Gabriel always made her feel so beautiful. His hands never stopped touching her, his lips kissed every part of her like he was memorizing her. Sabrina unbuttoned his shirt, his strong chest and arms were corded with muscle, like he was cut from marble. His bronzed skin with a light brush of scars made him so strong, so resilient. Gabriel's muscles moved from every action of his, they were in his control made to make him the alpha-male he was. The strength radiated off him, she ran her hands over the hard contours of his back and abdomen. He acted fast and hot to get inside her and she was desperate to feel him too.

Sabrina's body had a mind of its own in Gabriel's arms. She remembered their first night together and couldn't believe that she was ready to do anything and everything. But she knew that she was only like this for Gabriel. No one else compared to what she felt for her mate. Sabrina's core stretched and filled by him, his hardened shaft throbbed inside her. Gabriel didn't wait nor did he tease her. It was like he was trying to prove that she was his and his alone. He thrusted deep inside her core, they both shattered from their release and collapsed.

Sabrina combed her fingers through his hair, bringing his lips to hers, she kissed him until they both lost their breath. The deep sensation cut through Sabrina's heart and her wolf felt it too. Gabriel's need to claim her was so strong that she wondered what happened. But she knew that this was his way of telling her his feeling, his way of connecting them without any words.

Gabriel didn't pull out of her, they stayed together. Sabrina kissed him like she never wanted to let him go. His hands cupped her breasts and he moved inside her core, she felt his shaft grow hard when she marked his skin with her teeth. She bit down his neck leaving her mark, that were as wild as how they felt right now.

"When you told me that you loved me, you made me so happy," said Gabriel. Sabrina's hot gaze melted into his golden eyes. "I've never felt that happy as I did then-" he kissed her lips softly, like the strokes of his thrusts into her core. "I never thought that I'd find my mate, but when I found you, I was so scared of losing you. But then, you surprise me every time. You came right out and told me that you loved me."

"Why would that surprise you?" she asked. Gabriel's gaze darkened and she understood now. "You didn't think I'd fall in love with you."

"No, I didn't," he said honestly.

"Gabriel," her eyes saddened. She knew that Gabriel was afraid of what her response would be to him this whole time. "You seriously don't get how loved you are," she said. "I fell in love with you way before I mated you. Anyone would when they meet you." Sabrina turned him, she pushed him down onto the mattress. Her lips found his and she rode him, until he felt to his bones that he was hers. Sabrina sensed their bond deepening from each moment they kissed or touched. "I love you, Gabriel Centauri," she whispered softly. "And I think I'll die loving you." Gabriel cupped her face and he kissed her, he kissed her like she was what he needed all this time.

Gabriel came inside her and she released hard too. Breathless, they laid silently in each other's arms. Gabriel took over now. He laid her down and took his time loving her body, marking her skin and compelling her to give into all the pleasure he gave her with his hands and lips. As she would lose her mind in the shattering release of her arousal, Gabriel whispered how much he loved her. His husky, dark voice spoke into her heart softly, it took her great heights of pleasure and she absorbed every part of Gabriel.

It was late when both of them fell asleep.

Sabrina's body grew angst and her eyes opened to a dark room. She hadn't realized that she had fallen asleep on Gabriel. Her legs intertwined in his and her head was on his chest. She looked at the clock across the wall and it was barely past four o'clock. Sabrina slipped off the bed and went to the bathroom. She pulled on a pair of shorts and shirt before she went downstairs for some water.

She tip-toed down the hall and stairs afraid to wake anyone up. She thought everyone was asleep, but when she arrived on the bottom of the stairs, a faint golden light illuminated the dark floor.

"Hey," said Sabrina. It was Klaus standing near the sink. Klaus's green eyes looked at her, but she didn't recognize them at all. The warmth was gone and all life had left those beautiful eyes. "Can't sleep?" she asked.

"Just getting some water," he said. "You?"

"Me too," she said. Klaus handed her a glass of water before he was about to leave. "Hey, keep me company for a second-" without a word of complaint, he sat down on the stool next to her- "If you talk about whatever's bothering you, it might help you fall asleep," she suggested.

Klaus looked at her baffled. "How'd you know that I'm-"

"Instinct," she smiled. "Come on, tell me what's wrong?"

"Nothing, it's just sometimes I get these dreams," he said.

Sabrina remembered that Gabriel told her when Klaus was a kid, he'd have difficulty sleeping. She wondered what these dreams were about and why they bothered Klaus so much. "Nightmares," said Sabrina. "Are they as bad as I'm imagining?"

Klaus smiled briefly. "Probably," he said.

"You don't need to tell me, but I've seen a lot of shit through my years," she said. "There are some things in my life that don't let me sleep at night either."

"It's the same dream from what I can remember," said Klaus. "I'm getting beaten to death."

Sabrina's throat parched and her skin grew cold. Gabriel told her that their father had become abusive from losing his mate. After that, he had targeted Klaus with all his rage, leaving this poor boy traumatized.

Her eyes burned. "I'm sorry," said Sabrina. "I'm so sorry."

Klaus panicked. "Why are you crying?" he asked, his own voice shaking.

Hot tears trickled down her cheeks. "Because you're the sweetest person I know," she sobbed. "And you're always helping the pack, your family. You are so pure and so kind. But deep down, you're in pain."

Klaus's eyes filled with fat tears. "I try to do the best I can for the pack," his smile didn't fall but it grew sad. "But the pain doesn't lessen."

Sabrina understood that Klaus helped the pack so much, because that was his only way of giving back. "You don't need to work yourself so hard, Klaus," she touched his cheek. "Your pack loves you, your family adores you the most."

Klaus shook his head. "But it doesn't change that I killed our mom," he said. "I took away the person that was precious from the pack, from my family, from Gabriel."

Sabrina's heart ached. She got off the stool and kissed Klaus's forehead. She wrapped her arms around him, pulling him close to her. "I've only known you for a little time, but I know in my heart that the person who is the most precious to this family is you, Klaus," she said softly. His torrent of tears soaked her sleeve. "This whole pack circles around you day and night. And I know for a fact that they would fall apart if they saw you like this." Right now, Sabrina hugged Klaus and held him like he was a little pup of her own. "They won't last a day without you, Klaus-" they both laughed amongst the tears. "So, I need you to stay strong."

Sabrina pulled back and Klaus wiped his face with his sleeve. She grabbed the party napkins off the counter and handed one to him and used one herself.

"I have an idea," said Sabrina. She walked around to the fridge. Like Gabriel had done for her, she scooped ice-cream into a bowl and topped it with whipped-cream and chocolate syrup. She grabbed two spoons and presented it to Klaus.

He looked up at her tenderly. "Gabriel used to make me these all the time," said Klaus.

"I know," she smiled. "He made me one when I was feeling down too. That brother of yours sure knows how to fix a broken heart."

Klaus's emerald eyes glistened. "He does," he said. "Gabriel's the only reason I get up every day."

"The love between you siblings is so special," believed Sabrina. "I've never had a family, but if I had one, I'd want one just like yours."

"You do have a family now," affirmed Klaus.

Sabrina smiled at him. "Yes, I do," those words sank into her heart. "And your brother gave that to me."

Klaus smiled warmly, because he was remembering his brother. "Gabriel's the heart of this pack," he told her. "But you're his heart now. His world starts and ends with you, Sabrina. So, love my brother with all your soul and welcome to the family."

Sabrina's eyes filled again and she hugged Klaus. "Thank you," she said. "I'm glad to be a part of this family."

Klaus hugged her back. "Our ice-cream is melting," he joked. They finished the treat full of love and tenderness, that soothed that ache in their hearts.

Sabrina and Klaus went upstairs. She watched him go to his room and something told her that's he'd be okay now. He was strong as Gabriel and maybe tougher than anyone she ever knew in her life.

Sabrina closed the door behind her. She went to her mate and slipped into bed beside him. In his arms, she felt a fullness in her heart. This time coming back to him felt like coming home. She may be scared of the person that was terrorizing her, but she had her family now and nothing scared her when she knew that her pack was by her side.
