The next morning, Jimin wakes with a smile. He stretches his body out like a cat after turning his alarm off, pleased to find he's not feeling the exhaustion that lingered in his mind and body the previous day.

After cooking a simple meal for himself last night, he went straight to bed, determined to catch up on the sleep he had lost the night before. Now that morning has risen, he has been rewarded for his diligence with a well-rested body and a mind ready to take on this day of work.

It's Friday; after today, he will have the next two days to relax and enjoy his home. He's excited to say the least, his near future of relaxing on his porch and breathing in his peaceful surroundings motivating him to tackle today with even more of an optimistic attitude than he usually has.

As he's making his coffee, he realizes that with the prospect of the weekend lingering in his mind, he feels far more alert than he's used to.

"I don't need this much coffee," Jimin says to himself, staring down at the full pot he just made. He doesn't want to make himself feel jittery with the caffeine, knowing if he drinks too much, it would just make him feel uncomfortable since he doesn't need it to feel awake today.

An idea crosses his mind, and before he can talk himself out of it, he pulls out a second cup and fills it with the dark liquid. He places the lid on it before moving to open his front door. He slips his shoes on and then walks across the street to his neighbor's house, the cup of coffee balanced in his hand as he walks up to her front door.

He glances around on her porch and smiles at how simplistic yet functional it is. There are two rocking chairs seated on the porch, a small matching white table between the two as the furniture is turned to face the trees and plants that surround both his house and his neighbor's.

After taking a steadying breath, he knocks on the door, firmly but not too harshly so he doesn't scare her.

He waits with his breath held in his chest, biting his lower lip as he waits for his neighbor to answer the door.

After knocking a few more times, his shoulders slump as he realizes that she's not going to answer the door, whether that be because she is still asleep or she is just blatantly ignoring him.

"I brought you some coffee," Jimin says through the door in case it's the latter. "I'll just set it on this table if you want it. I don't have any cream or sugar for it since I drink my coffee black, but I made too much and I figured you might like it."

He places the cup on the table, glancing at the living room window that has its curtains drawn, preventing him from seeing inside the room.

After one last glance at the front door, Jimin turns around and moves back to his house so he can grab his own coffee and make his way to work.

Jimin pulls back into his driveway, humming a nameless song as he parks the car and turns it off. He's in a good mood after the productive day of work and the thought of getting to use the next couple of days to explore his new surroundings and take them in.

Just as Jimin takes a step to go into his house, he remembers the coffee he left for his neighbor this morning. He turns and looks at her porch, and his mood is deflated as he sees the cup sitting exactly where he left it this morning.

He sighs to himself before jogging across the road to grab his cup so he can dump the wasted coffee and wash it.

When he reaches the porch, he tries to be quiet so he doesn't startle his neighbor. He reaches out his hand, grabbing the cup while trying to be careful not to spill any of the coffee onto the nice white wicker furniture.

He frowns in surprise, however, when he picks up the cup and it's a lot lighter than he is expecting. In fact, it's empty.

He looks toward the front door and then to the living room window, looking for any signs of his neighbor, but he sees nothing.

He smiles to himself, glancing down at the empty cup. He thinks about knocking on her door to try to see if she is doing okay, but he thinks better of it, deciding to let her have her space.

"Goodnight," he says out loud, hoping his neighbor can hear him through the door.

He moves back to his house, his heart even lighter in his chest than it was when he pulled into his driveway.
