Dark Beauty - 2.

Chapter 2

"Did you see Jude?" Adria giggled, letting her legs swing in front of her from her place atop of the kitchen counter, "I had no idea!"

"Wait, you didn't dress him like that?" asked Lily, trying her very best not to keep in her laughter, "seriously?!"

"No, it was all Sirius!" Adria grinned, pulling on her boyfriend's free hand, "please don't drink much, Sirius, I don't want to have to look after two babies."

"Just this one," Sirius nodded, gesturing to the beer gripped in his hand, "suppose beer isn't too bad but fire whiskey will always be the best."

"See you're using your age to your advantage then?" Lily teased, her legs around James and her head resting atop of his from where she sat on the counter, "not even kidding, you could be a muggle."

"Oh, seems like it," Sirius scoffed, "drinking muggle beer, I have a muggle job, my girlfriend is a muggleborn, my basically child is a muggle-"

"Jude isn't your child," James laughed, seeing Sirius raise his eyebrows.

"He may as well be," Sirius pointed out, turning to Adria who nodded her head just after sharing a quick look with Lily.

"Babe can you go check on Jude please?" asked Adria suddenly, jumping down from the counter, "last I saw him he was clinging to Finn's hair so who really knows what he has done with him."

Sirius couldn't help but laugh as he nodded, slipping his arm around Adria's waist to pull her in for a quick kiss, "couldn't resist."

"Shove off," she giggled, pushing him out of the kitchen and soon did James follow behind, muttering something about wanting to see baby wormtail.

"Why haven't you told him?!" Lily gasped, her eyes wide as she rushed forward to Adria, her voice as hushed as can be and her cheeks almost as red as her hair, "merlin, Addy, he should've been the first to kn-"

"I know!" she exclaimed, quickly closing the kitchen door, "you're the only one that knows, Lils, I'm just- we've been through so much with Jude and trying to finally get him, and I don't want him to feel any more pressured, I mean we're only bloody eighteen, this shouldn't have happened!"

"You're getting your life together, Ads," Lily smiled softly, patting her best friend's cheek, "and maybe it'll be hard, bloody hell it probably will be, but Sirius is going to be ecstatic and you can't deny that, merlin, he's going to be thrilled!"

"This isn't what my life was supposed to be like, Lily," Adria frowned, sitting at the island in the middle of the kitchen, "I was supposed to finish school, me and Sirius would be living with mum and dad, Benji would be here, so would Arden, merlin, I'd maybe get a little job but I wouldn't really need it, my life wasn't going to be like this.

I wasn't going to have to try and act responsible because I'm not, I'm just a baby, Lily, I c-can't do this, I just can't. I have a house; do you know what I had to do the other day?! I had to call a bank because there was something wrong with the funding of my account, I had no idea what I was talking about, b-but I didn't have my dad to help me. In a few days, I'll be going for an interview for a job and I don't know what I have to say, or what I need to do. It's a muggle job, what qualifications can I say I have!" she exclaimed, wiping at the tears spilling down her cheeks.

"Oh Addy," Lily sighed softly, sitting beside her best friend, "ignoring what is going on- not telling Sirius won't make it go away, it's going to become a more prominent part of your life, you don't need to be responsible or mature, you just need to cope. You're only eighteen, you have Sirius, you have me, too, and James, Remus, Peter, Blair- everyone, we are not going anywhere, we can help you, you're not doing this alone!"

"W-What if Jude gets taken off of me?" she choked out, wiping furiously at her tears, hoping, begging that Sirius doesn't walk through the kitchen door to see the state she was in.

"Now why on earth would that happen?" Lily laughed in disbelief, knowing full well that the scenarios she was making up in her head was far too crazy for her to even fathom.

"B-because what if they think because of my state, I won't be able to look after him?!" she exclaimed.

"Adria, I think you forget that you have Sirius too, who loves you and Jude more than anyone can think of, merlin he just called the boy his child!" Lily exclaimed, "and we know that he's not stealing the role of his father from Douglas but he's trying his best to make sure that Jude has a good life, he can look after Jude just as well as you can, and he can take after you too, you're both in this together, in life together and growing up and getting older are two completely different things, you don't need to become an adult overnight, you are still young and you can still have fun, it just means you're going to have to cut out on it just a little bit."

"Maybe you should be the one becoming a mum - instead of me," Adria sighed, running a hand through her hair, a small smile on her lips, "Lily the wise."

Adria couldn't help but jump when the kitchen door fell open, allowing a shocked Sirius to stumble through, lips parted, eyes wide, replaying the words he had just overheard Adria say in his mind. She could feel the feeling of worry spread through her body, suddenly standing, allowing Lily to grab her hand quickly in any attempts to comfort the girl as best as she could, seeing as the look on Sirius' face wasn't doing that in the slightest.

"Wha-Wh-What did you just say?" Sirius choked out, leaning on the counter behind him, sitting down the can in his hand and soon rubbing his temples, "your- no, what?!"

"I-I said," Adria whispered slowly, "maybe Lily should be the becoming a mum-"

"Instead of you," Sirius completed, frowning, unsure of how to process the information he was putting together in his mind, all he knew was that he was ecstatic, "s-so you're, you're pregnant?"

"Well it seems so," Adria laughed softly, tears glazing her eyes, "surprise?!"

He pushed himself up from the counter, taking slow steps towards her, she would never in her life be afraid of Sirius, afraid of him hurting her, it was simply impossible, but she was afraid of his reaction, he wasn't showing any emotions.

Though the good news was that there was no way to tell if he was unhappy.

But he couldn't be unhappy, not when he saw the look on her face, seeing her standing in front of him with those big eyes and a half smile which showed her uncertainty of how she was feeling, because whilst she could be happy with it, she knew she couldn't do it on her own.

She needed the love of her life.

So, when his hands cupped her cheeks and his lips found hers, allowing her to stumble back until his hand slipped around her waist, keeping her in place, she could feel her nerves easing and a calming feeling of relief showering her body.

"H-how? W-when?!" Sirius muttered, his forehead resting against hers, pulling her as close to him as she could possibly be, "when did this happen?"

"T-The doctor said six weeks," Adria whispered, her hands cupping his cheeks, "Lily and I went last week."

"I can't- merlin," he couldn't help but laugh in disbelief, they were finally getting their lives together, their house was finally decorated the way the liked, he had a job, he had Adria, and she was going for an interview in a few days, and now this.

Sirius couldn't help but think he was the luckiest boy in the world.

"A-are you happy?" asked Adria, guiding him to look at her, "b-because if you're not we can look into all possibilities, adoption-"

"What?!" Sirius exclaimed, his eyes wider than he thought they could possibly be, and soon did he shake his head furiously, "n-no, Adria, no, this is my child, our child, our prince or princess, we can't do that, we can't give them up-"

She cut him off, pressing her lips to his softly, smiling as she done so, "then we won't, I was just making sure, Sirius, that's all."

"We have to tell Jude," Sirius commented, reaching for her hand and intertwining their fingers.

"We have to tell everyone!" she laughed, "I wanted to tell you first, though, before everyone else."

"Yes, but of course not before Lily," Sirius teased, watching with a laugh as Lily stuck her tongue out at him, soon throwing her arms around her two best friends.

"I can't believe you two are going to be parents," she sighed, shaking her head, "when are you going to tell everyone?!"

"Well, I suppose now would be a good time," Adria laughed, pulling the two of them along, "seeing as everyone's here!"

"Addy!" Blair grinned, getting up from the floor from where her and Remus where helping Jude build a home out of his wooden building blocks, "we uh, we had to take Jude out of the dog costume, i think he wanted to kill someone."

Adria couldn't help but giggle as she nodded, seeing Jude running over to her in his baby grow and soon did she scoop him into her arms, knowing fine well that he was getting sleepier when he nuzzled his head into her neck.

"It's alright, he needs to sleep soon anyway," Adria shrugged, throwing her arm around Blair, "I feel like I haven't seen you in forever!"

"I know, it's been a bit hectic," she sighed, frowning, "Remus' mum, Hope has fallen Ill, I wanted to write more but we're both just trying our hardest to help out Lyall as best as we can."

"Oh merlin," Adria frowned, patting Blair's shoulder, "will she be alright?!"

"I think so!" Blair nodded, smiling fondly at the thought of the woman who she loved dearly, "she's a true fighter!"

"Guys, Addy and I have something we have to tell you!" Sirius shouted over the chatter in his living room, trying his best to keep his calm façade from cracking as their friends turned to stare at the two, and soon did Sirius gesture for Adria to talk.

"Okay, well," Adria took a deep breath, laughing softly in disbelief and soon reaching for Sirius' hand, "I don't think there is any other way to say it except from- well, I um, I'm pregnant!"

"What?!" James gasped, wide eyed, "yo-you're pregnant?!"

"Yes!" Adria laughed, seeing him stand with James, and Remus, and soon did Peter gently hand baby Eva to Thea to stand with them.

"You mean to tell me that you two have done the thing that allows babies to be born?!" James shrieked.

"Oh bloody hell," Adria whispered, shaking her head, "so you're telling me that Sirius and I having se-"

"Don't say it out loud!" James exclaimed, suddenly stopping as he looked down at the girl that was like his sister, unable to stop the tears from streaming down his face. She allowed the smile to twitch at the corner of her lips at the sight of the look on all three boys faces, and soon was she engulfed in a hug by James, soon joined by Remus and Peter.

"Oh merlin, I can't believe it!" Milo sobbed, clinging to his boyfriend as the tears fell from his eyes, "my best friend- my sister is going to have a baby, Finn, she's going to have a baby!"

"I know, Milo," Finn nodded, wrapping his arm around the boy as they moved to hug her tightly, "I do have ears."

"You're going to be the best mum, Addy," Milo whispered, wiping his tears and soon wiping hers too, "merlin, you already are!"

She laughed softly as she hugged the boy tightly, and soon after did each of her friends get up to hug her too, a buzz in the room that wasn't there before. The world outside of their group, the wizarding world was getting progressively worse with every day that passed, families disappearing, the newspaper littered with new deaths every week.

But somehow, the teenagers huddled together in the London home, were able to find happiness within each other, able to help each other through the darkness by being a makeshift family that they all couldn't help but love.
