Dark Beauty - 14.

Chapter 14

"You're getting a bump," Sirius said quietly as they walked behind the girls running up to their home, his arm around her waist and his hand on her stomach whilst Adria nodded her head. She was wearing a dress that was suitable for the cold winter, her head looking down to see that she was evidently forming a bump but it was rather small, it wasn't big in the slightest but Sirius couldn't deny that the sight of her was rather lovely. If someone had told him that the girl he teased back in third year would be the same girl carrying his child he'd surely punch them for lying.

"I know, I noticed this morning when I was getting dressed actually. It's been around thirteen weeks and the nurse said a first-time mum can start showing around twelve to sixteen weeks," Adria shrugged, leaning her head on his shoulder, "merlin soon enough I'll be so big I won't even be able to see my stomach!"

"Well you might be able to balance bowls on your stomach which is convenient for cereal," Sirius joked, watching her laugh loudly, and soon nodded her head.

"Who needs tables when you can just get pregnant," she giggled, reaching into the back seat of the car to get the bag she took for Jude, "can you believe that in just a year, Jude will be starting school?"

"I was thinking about that, and are you sure he can?" asked Sirius, wrapping his arms around her and taking the bag she was holding whilst she locked the car door, "I mean, he'll be four in July and I wonder if they'll let him go to school when he's just turned four, you told me that the only reason Alfie went to school when he was four was because he made the cut for it, but you and Benji where a few months out, Addy I think Jude will have to wait until he's five."

Adria thought for a few moments, reaching for his hand that was terribly cold in the winter air, "oh merlin, you're right! Because I think your birthday needs to be just before march in order to make the cut for school at four!"

"Thank merlin," Sirius scoffed, "he's just a baby, he's far too young for school."

"I know, I really don't want him having to start and five is so young too," she whispered, "but we both know that wherever Jackson goes, Jude won't be far behind, I just hope he'll be starting at five too."

"He really loves his friend, doesn't he?" Sirius smiled fondly, they had met Jackson's mother once when picking up Jude from school when Jude didn't exactly feel like greeting Adria and Sirius and rather preferred to wish his best friend a goodbye by hugging him as tightly as he could.

Jackson's mother was rather surprised to see how young Adria and Sirius where but she was the loveliest woman Adria had met. She didn't once judge their age or the fact that Adria was pregnant when Jude loudly stated that Adria was "growing a baby!" and when she found out that Jude was in fact Adria's brother, she was rather sympathetic towards the loss of her parents and showered the two teenagers in a large amount of praise for taking on the role of the young boy's guardians.

"So much, I think Jackson is coming over after Christmas, I arranged it when his teacher was flirt- talking to you," Adria spoke, seeing Sirius suddenly turn to her with raised eyebrows.

"Miss Hopkins are you jealous?" Sirius teased, stopping in their tracks on their way to their home whilst Adria merely scoffed.

"I have no idea what you're talking about, Mr Black." She merely waved him off but he was rather amused by her words.

He pulled on the dress she wore so that she would step forward and his hand rested on her lower back as his forehead rested gently on hers, "if that teacher was flirting with me I had absoloutely no idea because I was far too busy thinking about you."

She rested her hands on his chest, her smile twitching until it widened and soon did she whisper, "you know, I do always tease you about being so cheesy but I don't know what I'd do without it."

"Oh, is it one of your pregnant cravings, huh?" he asked, his eyebrow raised, "because if that's the case I guess I'll just have to compliment you all day."

She nodded her head, trying her best to hold in her giggles whilst her smile involuntarily widened, "it must be. You know sometimes the father of the child has to join in with the cravings, I suppose, maybe so the mother doesn't feel singled out...so does that mean I have to compliment you all day because that can certainly be arranged."

He cupped her cheek whilst his laughter filled the air and she soon followed, slowly wrapping her arms around his neck whilst she pushed herself onto her tiptoes in order to reach him better, "you are something else, Miss Hopkins."

"Maybe so." She pulled on the back of his neck so that she could reach him, and soon connected their lips together. She would always be forever thankful for the love she had with Sirius, and the love their friends had for each other because it was terribly rare and but so very lovely.

She knew that at her age there was the chance that Sirius would get scared and run off but she knew he wouldn't leave her, she knew him and knew that he was brave and the best boy she could ever possibly have, and knew that if there was anyone in this world that she wanted to be with and have a child with - regardless of her fear of being far too young - then it would be Sirius. She loved her little family so much, and she knew that if she had the option she would rather not be pregnant in the given time but that didn't mean she didn't love her little baby more than anything.

"Alright, can you two take your hands off each other for more than two seconds?!" Lia called out, leaning on the door with her shoes off and one of many blankets thrown over her shoulder, "Alfie, Grace and Mila are here!"

"We're coming!" Adria laughed, reaching for Sirius' hand once again and pulling him in the direction of the house. She was so glad that the house was warm for them entering, knowing that she couldn't stay out in the cold for much longer, it felt like a gift to have the heat.

"I can't believe you didn't tell me that Benji was home!" Alina exclaimed when she saw her sister, both her and Lia who had returned to her spot with their arms tightly around them whilst Arden looked terribly defeated that no one wished to hug her.

"Yes, thank you, I'm invisible!" the girl exclaimed, turning to look at both Adria and Sirius who had the same idea and quickly rushed over to the girl, both of them throwing their arms around her whilst she beamed.

"Alright where is my goddaughter!" Adria exclaims, creeping over to Mila who slept soundly in Alfie's arms and trying her best to get her whilst he amusedly pulled her away from him.

"Alfie Hopkins, I swear on your life I will end you if you don't give me her," Adria warned, her eyes narrowing whilst he merely scoffed and handed the girl her goddaughter. Adria was almost settled with the girl in her arms, hushing her soft breaths and contently staring at her when the sounds of loud screams of crying was heard around the house.

Adria's head snapped up to Jude who was standing in the arch way into their dining room, his eyes wide with anger and the screams of his cries erupting from his lips. Sirius acted quickly, scooping the boy into his arms whilst he merely tried his best to get out of the teenager's grip.

"Hey, hey, hey," Sirius cooed, sitting on the edge of the sofa whilst Adria watched him intently, watching Jude too as he got more and more restless and soon realised that it was from the lack of attention he was getting. The boy was throwing a tantrum.

"No, no, let me down!" the screeched, all but slapping Sirius in the face with his small hands, which seemed to make Sirius realise that he shouldn't be calming the boy, but disciplining him.

"Jude, stop it." Sirius' voice wasn't the one it usually was, instead of playful and happy, he knew he had to be stern as much as he hated it and as much as he knew Adria hated it. The girl did understand, though, she'd never want Jude to grow up spoiled and ungrateful, "there is plenty of people you love here and they're all just gonna go home if you don't stop it and be a good boy, alright? your baby cousin is trying to sleep and if you wake her, we're going to be very angry."

"Bu- but I want Addy!" Jude exclaimed loudly, pointing angrily to where Adria sat with Mila in her arms whilst Jude sat on Sirius' lap.

"Well you can't get Addy right now because Mila needs her," Sirius spoke, completely oblivious to the shock - but happiness - that he treated Jude as though he was his own from the Hopkin's around him, "and how much do you get to see Addy?"

"But I want her now!" he screeched. Adria was getting rather worried, bouncing Mila softly, she was rather surprised that the girl hadn't woken up but Adria made sure to shield her from the noise as best as she could, keeping quiet and letting Sirius deal with it.

"Tough," Sirius simply spoke, holding the boy so that he would look at him, "you can't have Addy whenever you want Jude, she is with Mila right now and she needs her. You will be able to sit with Addy later."

"Bu- but," the tears formed in his eyes that begged to spill and soon did he yawn, his cries turning softer as his head fell onto Sirius' shoulder, "I want Addy."

Sirius chuckled softly, holding the boy in his arms as his smaller hand curled around his shirt and his cries wetted his shirt. He was tired and it was very evident when another yawn escaped his lips and Sirius reached for the blanket behind him, wrapping it around the toddler who had hushed drastically, only crying in Sirius' ear whilst the boy shushed him as best as he could.

"Do you have to cope with that every night?" asked Alina, still holding onto Benji whilst her legs sprawled over Arden who was now getting hugged by Lia.

"He's not usually that bad, he just likes attention." Adria shrugged, "there's some nights that he'll wander into our room because he's had a nightmare and talking about it makes him cry but he's usually very quiet, thankfully."

"Well Sirius is very good with him," Alina smirked, nodding to Sirius who was hardly paying attention to her words and instead of the boy who was clutching tightly onto him as he lay back in order for him to sleep.

"He really is," Adria smiled, leaning her head on Alfie beside her, "he can actually be stern with him if he really needs to be but if I try it, he'll end up crying and so will I and Sirius has to deal with two babies instead of just one."

"Yes, I can definitely see that," Lia teased, playing with Arden's hair who was near enough ready to fall asleep.

"Addy?" Alfie whispered, nudging her ever so slightly whilst her eyes closed. It had been a long day and Adria, recently was much more tired than she usually was. She was unsure if that was to do with the pregnancy or the long nights kept awake with Jude...or Sirius.

"Yeah, Alf?" Adria mumbled.

"Now that Benji is back, we should really focus on, uh, dads house-" he was cut off when Adria's hand clasped over his mouth, a soft chuckle leaving her lips whilst he frowned.

"Alfie it's Christmas time. Alina and Lia are back and so is Benji and Arden, we have plenty of time to discuss that so just enjoy this time with your family, will you?" she lifted her head to face him, "we don't know how long we have left with each other, so just please relax!"
