Dark Beauty - 13.
Chapter 13
Adria was almost jumping as she awaited the train pull in at the station. Like most families there to collect their children, they had gotten to the station far to early - Adria's fault - to make sure that they weren't possibly late in the slightest, and whilst Sirius knew that was impossible with Adria's excitement, he figured it was best if he just let the girl do what she pleased seeing as she was more than excited to see her baby sister who she had missed terribly.
Sirius only wondered if it were possible for Adria not to tell any of the girls that Benji and Arden were home.
Jude was in the stroller that the two teenagers had bought, though he barely used it much unless they really needed him to stay still, like now. Adria was terrified of him wandering too close to the edge of the platform and urged Sirius to bring the stroller along because of her fear of him going out of her sight, but to say that Jude wasn't happy about being in the stroller was a terrible understatement. Currently, he wasn't even talking to the two, instead his bottom lip was pushed out in a pout and his arms crossed over his chest for being so restricted.
"Adria, you need to calm down," Sirius laughed softly. He pulled on the dress she wore, slipping his arm around her waist whilst she silently nodded her head, though her excitement didn't at all go away. She just knew that Sirius was on edge with her excitement, always keeping a close eye on her because of the baby, he was terrified in case anything happened to her or their child that she knew he was only keeping a closer eye on her because he loved her.
"Fine, fine, it's just weird, isn't it?" she spoke, rubbing her hands together in the cold air, she was wondering when the train would get in and how long it would be until she could see the girls she had been missing for far too long, "being on this end of the waiting. I miss the train actually, I wish I could get on it and hop back off to Hogwarts in hopes of not worrying about any responsibilities but I don't think life works that way."
"Not really, unfortunately," Sirius scoffed, "though I wouldn't mind going back to Hogsmeade for one of those dates. What was it? go crazy in Honeydukes, drink some butterbeer then snog in a booth at the three broomsticks?"
"Well the butterbeer is at the three broomsticks too...and don't say snog it's such a horrible word," the girl groaned, shaking her head whilst Sirius laughed loudly, proceeding to repeat the word multiple times until she groaned, whacking his chest.
"Jude, you alright, baby?" asked Adria, peeking her head round to look at him, "you're awfully quiet."
He turned the other way from her, his eyes narrowed now and his bottom lip pushed out even more whilst Adria tried her best not to show the amused smile on her lips. She rounded the stroller until she was in front of him, crouched down at eye view so he could see her properly, "so I take it you don't like the pram, huh Jude?"
"It's unfair!" he whined, his arms flailing around him and his eyes wide with anger, "why do you get to walk around, why- why does Pad?!" he screeched, causing a few others to look over at him, and Sirius made sure he was well hidden from his family at the other side of the platform waiting for Regulus, though it wasn't like they would ever pay attention to him anyway.
"Well we are taller so we can see more," Adria shrugged, ruffling his hair whilst he protested, "and we need you to stay here now because a big train is going to come and if you go near it you might hurt yourself, and we don't want that!"
"But I won't go near it," he cried, trying to move so that Adria wouldn't wipe his tears but failing.
"Well you say that, but what if you accidentally go near it and I can't save you?!" Adria exclaimed, "and you only have to stay here a little longer and then we can go get ice cream with Pad and Alina and Lia!"
"Allie and Lia?!" Jude gasped, his eyes wide whilst Adria nodded with a wide smile on her lips, laughing at the boy who had suddenly brightened at hearing the names, "are they coming back too?!"
"Yes, they're coming back, Jude," Adria giggled, leaning closer to press a kiss to his forehead whilst the toddler's grin couldn't have possibly widened any more than it was, he was so completely adorable and Adria always found it hard to stay mad at the boy without completely melting at his cuteness, it made for some interesting conversations when he thought ice cream was better suited for the walls because he thought the pink of the ice cream would much suit their living room.
It took Adria and Sirius an hour to get the stains out whilst Adria gave Jude more ice cream because Sirius raised his voice and made the boy cry.
"You're so great with him, you know that," Sirius whispered in her ear when she moved to stand beside him again. His arm automatically fell over her shoulder, pulling her closer to him whilst her arms wrapped tightly around his waist.
"Well only when he's happy, and not when he's doing something wrong," she mumbled, shaking her head with a groan, "I know I need to work on discipline but his face is just too cute, and then he cries and I cry and it's one big mess!"
"You'll get used to it, I bloody hate shouting at him, it's the worst but he needs to know what's right and wrong Addy, and if we don't then he's going to grow up mean and spoiled," Sirius sighed, feeling Adria nod her head as she awaited the train to pull into the station.
It seemed like small family was waiting forever, Adria was very comfortable wrapped in Sirius' arms and Jude had even fallen asleep as they waited and waited until the familiar sound of the steam train was heard, startling Jude awake and allowing Adria to lift her head from Sirius' shoulder, her excitement waving over her as she clapped her hand, turning to Sirius excitedly who was grinning at her, a laugh falling from his lips at the bubbly girl who was trying her best not to explode.
Students rushed off the train when it stopped, some went straight to get their trunks and some dived for their parents and siblings, it was rather a rather lovely sight to see so many people happy to see their family, and whilst it was entirely odd to be on the other side collecting students, Adria couldn't deny that she was having a lot of fun recognising familiar faces and seeing people she hadn't seen in months and months jump off the train. More than a few people waved at her, shouting their greetings and waving excitedly whilst she made no protest to respond, but her main priority was looking for either girls.
Adria's attention fell on Sirius when he let a loud, very annoyed sounding groan leave his lips and before Adria could even ask what he was doing, he pointed to the left of them. Her eyes drifted away from him, and finally did she laugh, seeing Alina with her arms wrapped around her boyfriend's neck whilst his hands rested on her hips. It seemed as though neither of the two were at all ashamed of PDA as the heated make out session was the least of their worries, in fact, they just hated leaving each other for the two-week holiday.
"I love you," Alina whispered, her hand cupping a softly smiling Jesse's cheek who pushed his lips back onto hers once more, basking in her touch for a little while longer so that he would be able to cope with the long holiday without her. He wished she would be able to visit but he knew fine well that as much as she was the boss of herself, her sister wouldn't let her out of her sight for the full two weeks and even asking would be pointless.
"I love you too," Jesse's smile widened when he saw her eyes crinkling with delight, her hands slowly tracing down his chest whilst she clutched his shirt in her hands, pulling him closer so that she was flush against him and soon connecting their lips for the third time.
"Alright, that's enough!" Sirius groaned, his arms flailing and a glare in Jesse's direction that didn't go at all unnoticed by the boy grinning sheepishly, "bloody hell you'd think they'd never seen each other!"
"Oh, as if you can talk!" Alina shouted over to him, over exaggeratedly kissing Jesse one last time whilst Sirius merely flipped her off.
"Lia!" Adria squealed, seeing the girl not too far from her, who brightened at the sight of the three on the platform. She was almost ready to make her way over to them before she was stopped by a tap on the shoulder.
"You're not seriously leaving without a goodbye, are you?" Ramona exclaimed, wrapping her arms tightly around a laughing Lia who whispered multiple sorry's into the girl's ear, "yeah, you should be, I won't see you for two whole weeks!"
"Unless the two idiots over there don't mind a visitor?" Lia smiled, pulling on the jumper that Ramona wore and pressing her lips to the girls own whilst Ramona's arms slowly moved to wrap around Lia's neck.
"Oh merlin, Sirius, look! Look!" Adria exclaimed, "bloody finally, can you believe it? they have liked each other for so bloody long I'm surprised it took this long for them to actually get together!"
Sirius' eyes narrowed at the two girls, "if she hurts her, I swear-"
"Oh, what will you do, whine about it like you did with Jesse?!" Adria scoffed, "come on just bask in the love, Sirius, it's cute!"
"Fine. Whatever. It's cute, mhmm," Sirius grumbled, knowing that his words where true but not happy that the girl that was basically a sister to him was growing up.
"If my sister doesn't get over here right now to hug me, I swear-"
"Hold your horses!" Alina scoffed, running as quickly as she could and almost tackling an excited Adria to the ground, "merlin, Addy, I missed you so much!"
"I missed you too, Allie!" Adria exclaimed, tightly hugging the girl who was squeezing so tightly, she could barely breath. But Adria was doing the exact same to her younger sister that she couldn't exactly complain.
"Sirius!" Lia laughed, throwing her arms around the boy who hugged her tightly, lifting her off the ground whilst she shouted her protests for him to put her down.
"Alright, calm down," Sirius laughed, though he kept a hold of the girl, "now I know that Ramona is nice and all, but if she ever even attempts to hurt you, I swear-"
"I get it," Lia blushed, leaning her head on his shoulder, "you'll hurt her or whatever, I know, I know but she wouldn't hurt me, I know it, and I'd never hurt her."
"Oh, it's just so cute!" Adria exclaimed, clutching onto Alina who was laughing loudly.
"Is no one gonna hug me!" the small voice from the stroller filled the air, and the two girls pulled themselves from Sirius and Adria's embraces in order to rush to Jude's aid.
"How are you feeling?" asked Sirius quietly, a small smile on his lips as he saw the genuine smile on Adria's. Her eyes crinkled with delight, shining with happiness she couldn't hide even if she wanted too, and her smile was wider than Sirius had seen it in a long time.
She moved closer to him, wrapping her arms tightly around him whilst she looked at his eyes staring down at her, and with a small nod, she whispered, "I'm the happiest I've been in a long time."
"You don't know how happy it makes me to hear you say that," Sirius whispered, leaning down to kiss her whilst the two girls shouted their loud protests.
