Chapter 6

I woke up in a bunk bed with two other boys next to me. I quickly jumped up and examined the surroundings. I hit the metal bars and gasped. A crutch was laid next to the ladder from the top bunk and I saw Crutchie huddled nervously.

"You ok?" I asked him quietly. He looked at my eyes and I covered my mouth. He had a black eye and other bruises and scratches along his arms. He looked at me and forced a smile onto his face.

"Yeah, Dot. I'm ok." He said, trying to provide comfort. I pulled away from him and went to look to look out the cell's window. I sighed as the moonlight hit my face.

"Jack's probably real worried about you." I chuckled softly. "I don't know what he thinks of me right now. My guess is that he thinks I just ran away. I-I don't know, I don't know." I could sense Crutchie looking at me with sympathy and I didn't dare look back into his concerned eyes. His big brown eyes always make me shiver when they are concerned and sometimes they make me want to cry. He's always so selfless, and I adore that. I really do.

"Ya know, at least we's here together. Less lonely." He said quietly, as to not wake the other kids around him. He laid a hand on my shoulder and looked out. "Let's get some sleep and dream of Santa Fe."

I turned back to him. "Santa Fe? I've never heard of it." He smiled.

"Jack wants to go there. He invited me, and I'm sure he would take you too. You're his sis after all."

Sorry it was short... I have a lot going on.
