The Father sat back in his chair, looking at the Relevant One and the Young Officer seated amongst the scattered papers, files, empty Styrofoam coffee cups, and various electronic gadgets. They were all exhausted, rumpled, and just overall a mess. They were all half asleep, too. Earlier they had made a breakthrough in Videns’ classified files: A short summary of the possible Trials. They had pounced, submersing themselves in the information and absorbing it, wanting to help the girl in any way possible. What they had found was not as helpful as they would have first thought, but it was something. So they messaged her. She replied immediately and eagerly, answering their questions earnestly. When they were done, The Father leaned back in his chair and announced that they were to fly to the girl as soon as possible. The Relevant One was immediately doubtful, not sure how she and the Young Officer would handle the parents. The Young Officer, however, was eager and extremely glad to now be able to take action against his mistake. The Father was happy to be able to go home and see his family, and after escorting the two out and to their hotel, he went home.
