Seyeght (Part 11)
LONDON
Whoever had the letter was stubborn. Too stubborn. At least that is what the two ex-employees thought. They were aggravated beyond knowledge. They would have to give something if they wanted to get that letter back. They would have to negotiate… be smart about it. The Relevant One went over to the window and gazed out in thought, watching the rain on the glass run down. She had always liked the rain; it was free to do what it pleased. It did what it wanted and no one could stop it. It would come when it saw fit, and it would leave in the same manner.
The Young Officer called to her, getting her attention. He gave her an option: To give a few irrelevant answers and protect whoever had the letter, or be hunted and let the owner be hunted as well. They both saw it very unnecessary to endanger someone else, especially when they did nothing. The Young Officer felt the burden most, as he was the one who did not follow orders. The Relevant One reassured him that what he did was better than sending that powerful of a gift to someone who knew how to interpret it and use it in a way that was inevitably contorted. The Young Officer was not convinced, but agreed to reply and give some irrelevant information. They sat down at the laptop and put a simple reply.
“Her and I.”
