Chapter 2 :

Shreya was sitting on her balcony looking at the moon talking to her parents with smiling happily eating cake and icecream.

Shreya : Haa maa aap bilkul, haa radhika ki shaadi mein main aaungi. (excitedly)Acha papa bhi na mazak kitna karte hain.

Shreya glanced at the watch when her female cook came out of the kitchen with her bag signaling her about she leaving , shreya noded and as soon as she left shreya sighed with disconnecting the call.

She moved to hall switching on the TV with finishing the cake while daily soap started playing on the TV with shreya getting lost about what happened within the last week.

She experienced an Unexpected Reunion with Daya, it wasn't like she did not meet him for last 5 years but the way it turned now was totally unexpected for her.

Shreya was frozen for a moment recollecting the moment he said he needs a divorce and now he was infornt of her smiling with other colleagues while she was bursting with anger within herself.

She tighten her grip on the fork in her hand while she recollected the scene of Daya happily chatting with kajal and Ishita sipping coffee today. She angrily stab the cake piece in her plate with anger filled eyes.

Shreya :(grinning her teeth)I will kill you Daya..

Flash back:

Shreya walked with Abhi discussing about a case while they saw Kajal and Ishita laughing with daya as they both sat on either side of him with leaving a thin gap between eachother.

Ishita:(blushing)sir aap kya keh rahe hain, mujhe yakeen nahi hora hain.

Kajal:I agree with her sir, aap itne fit ho itne handsome ho aur aap workout nahi karte. Batiye na sir apne gym ka address we will join you..

Daya:(smiling looking both of them)Abh tum log itna keh rahe ho to main gym join kar hi leta hu however abh cid mein wapas agaya to mujhe aur fit rehna hoga.

Kajal/Ishita:(highfive with daya)great!

Daya:(smiling)waise tum log kisi case pe kaam kar rahe ho kya?

Kajal:Haa sir hum wo (blushing)Sachin sir ke saath ek case pe kaam kar rahe hain.

Daya:(raising his eyes)Acha..Agar tum logo ko problem na ho to main join karlu tum dono ko uss case pe.(they look at him while he flash a helpless smile)wo actully tumhari shreya madam mujhe kisi case pe kaam nahi karne deri..(wishpering)ye politics chal rahe hain yaha aur agar maine 1 mahine mein koi bhi case nahi handle kiya to mujhe cid bhi chodni hogi.

Kajal:(sadly)no sir..(daya looks at her with suprised while she jerks her head)I mean aap tension maat lo hum hain na please assist us taki hum shreya maam ko handle kar sake.

Ishita:Yes sir please, humare liye badi baat hogi aapka hume join karna iss case mein.

Daya:great..to (finishing coffee)case ke details dicuss kare meeting room mein.

They node while all of them gets shocked with shreya banging her water bottle on the table between all of them.

Kajal-ishita glup their breathe with tension and daya bite his lips.

Daya:(stammering)h..hi.shreya.. hey Abhijeet..

Abhi smiles at daya as he turns to prepare his coffee with daya closing his eyes prepared of what's coming now.

Shreya:(burning eyes)Firstly(trio look at her)Its shreya Maam.. aap bhul jaate hain(stressing each words)YOU ARE THE JUNIOR HERE... (daya nodes glancing at Kajal-Ishita while she turn to them)you both, report kaha hain case ki?evidences mile?

Kajal:(stammering with sweat on her forehead)m..ma..maam..wo..

Shreya:Back to work... both of you(they nod as they glance at daya helplessly)NOW......

Both of them quickly move from their as she glance at daya who was scraching his head glancing at Abhi.

Shreya:(floding her arms across)Aap yaha kya kar rahe hain?

Daya:Kaam karne ki kosish jo tum mujhe nahi karne deri..

Shreya;(jerking her head in no with anger)Back bichting karke?

Daya:Back Bichting?Maine.. (glance at Abhi who was still streaming his coffee)aisa kuch nahi kiya.

Shreya(raising her eyes);really? deal bhul gaaye?

Daya:isliye to kaam kar raha hu..(she angirly looks at him)ofho Shreya tum mujhe yaha kaam karne nahi deri koi case handle nahi karne deri to main kaise koi kaam karu??bataoo..

Shreya:(grinning her teeth)Batana wo to aapka department hain na..(daya gets her hint as he lower his gaze while she jerking her head moves)kisi aur ka case lene ki kosish bhi baat karna warna aap mera wo roop dekhoge (crushing the paper cup in her hand)jo abh tak nahi dekha.

Shreya glares at daya while he try to smile gluping his tension, she moves away throwing the paper cup in dustbin and Abhi with helpless expressions follow her.

Daya;(sitting on chair looking at water bottle which she left)Dost dost na raha pyaar pyaar na raha.. (looking at ceiling)zindagi hume tera ateebar na raha...

Abhi:(following shreya)Shreya(she looks at him with still anger filled eyes)tumhe daya ko ek chance dena chaiye.

Shreya:(stops walking with turning to him)chance nahi main unko jite ji jhanum ke darshan karvaungi.

Abhi:(bitting his lips)Shreya daya dil ka bura nahi ..(she stare at him)I mean.. wo.. tum dono ke issues tum dono hi handle karo main kuch nahi bol raha.

He leaves from there sighing as shreya held her head with the feeling of her head bursting with thoughts, memories and anger.

Kavin:(walking towards her seeing her in corridor)Shreya..thank god tum yahi milgaayi.

Shreya:(walking away with stif voice)kyu kuch kaam tha jo mujhe dhund rahe ho?

Kavin:Actully haa bhi and naa bhi(she glance at him)I mean wo mital wala case abhtak solve nahi hua.. kahi kuch miss ho raha hain.

Shreya stop and turns to kavin while he gets tensed with taking a step back.

Kavin:I am sorry but maine try kiya wo ho nahi raha... Woo..

Shreya:(smirking)ye wahi case hain na jaha 5 log ek saath gayab hua and no traces are found even after 4 years.. right?(kavin nodes)ye case wapas reopen hua?

Kavin:Right, wo court se order aaya tha CBI ke inspector jo rishvat leke case close karta tha wo cases reopen karne ke liye. Use suspend kardiya gaaya lekin ye case wapas hume diya gaaya hain.

Shreya:(smirking again)interesting...(she smiles then galnce at kavin who was keenly noticing her)aur kuch?

Kavin:(jerking his head)haa wo..(scarching his head shyly)dinner saath kare?

Shreya:Nahi meri important appointment hain.. bye

She leaves with kavin sighing sadly and daya who noticed them from back had no expressions on his face while he was looking at them.

Flashback ends:

Shreya stabbing the empty plate with anger filled eyes as her inner soul was screaming angirly.

"Jhanum mein bhi chain nahi milne dungi main aapko"

Daya gets up with jerk while looking around and rubbing his ears.

Sachin:kya hua?aap theek hain?

Daya:(sighing rubbing his ears)Shreya mujhe abh aaram se nap bhi nahi lene deti.

Sachin;par wo yaha hain kaha..

Daya:hain nahi thi,phele zindagi mein abh sapno mein.

Daya stare at the person sitting infront of him while he smile eating samosa.

Daya:Boss, waha tumhare bhen aur yaha tum? Chatein kya ho tum dono?

Abhi:(smiling)Alimony...(Daya sit stiffly)seriously?itni buri situation aur tune mujhe bataya bhi nahi..(looks at sachin)tumse ye ummed bilkul nahi thi.

Sachin:Sorry sir.

Sachin bite his lips while daya sip coffee with sad face.

Daya: Phele hi meri wajha tumhare aur tarika ke beech abh tak issues chal rahe hain. Main tumhe aur problem mein nahi dalna chata aur waise hi tumne wada kiya hain na mere aur shreya ke beech kuch na bolne ka.

Abhi looks at Daya who was staring back at him.

Abhi:(sighing)ek rishte kitne rishtein ko jodta-todta hain. (Daya stare at him as Abhi smile)Dekh breaue ka pata nahi lekin main tera dost tha aur hamesha rahunga. Tere kehne pe hi na maine tum dono ke beech tab kuch kaha tha na abh kahunga lekin dosti apni jagha hain.

Daya:Main janta hu boss ache se janta hi aur wahi dosti ke liye main personally tujhse koi help nahi lunga.

Abhi:Profesionally lele..

Daya:(looks at him)lekin shreya mujhe koi case nahi handle karne deri.. (banging table)kisne usko banaya senior...kaun aise bully karta hain apne juniors ko?

Abhi:(glaring)Wo bully nahi kari bas kaam karne ka way bata rahi hain and teri case ki baat.. haha wo to upar wala hi janta hain.

Daya try to say while Abhi glares and sachin smiles with daya finally giving up.

Sachin:yaha ki sandwich aur hum teeno ki baatein maine bohut miss ki..

Daya:(smiling)Haa maine bhi..(they smile while daya remember something)Acha ek baat batao ye kavin kaisa ladka hain?

Abhi:(smiling)Kavin.. Bohut acha intelligent hain smart hain aur dashing bhi hain, tum ne dekha hi hain.

Daya:Uski wife hain?

Sachin:Sir wo single hain no girl friend.

Abhi:(bitting samosa)Crush hain lekin.

Daya looks at Abhi who was staring at bitten samosa thinking something.

Daya:(looks at sachin)Nature kaise hain?

Sachin:Jovial bhi hain, uski aur shreya ki badi jamti hain aur wo akela hain jo pure breaue mein shreya ke gusse ko handle kar sakta hain.

Abhi:(finishing his samosa)sach..(looks at daya thinking something)tu kya soch raha hain?

Daya:kuch nahi..(smiles)

Abhi:Main tera kuch nahi ache se janta hu.. abhi to shreya tujhe sirf marne ki planning kar rahi hain agar tune aise waise kuch kiya na to wo sidha headshot (point gun with his finger on daya head)maregi tujhe.(Daya nodes while Abhi jerks his head)kya hoga tum dono ka.

Daya happily smiling as shreya staring at him and Acp and others wishpering.

Acp: Koi doubts?

Daya:(excitedly)No sir ..

Acp:(nodding)Shreya Malad wala high profile case hain uspe you and Abhijeet kaam karo and make sure jaldh se jaldh update mile. (They nod)Kajal,Sachin aur Ishita jo bhi evidence track kiya hain tumlogo ne, work on it and khooni ko dhundo.(they nodes)Daya and Kavin work on mital case aur..

Shreya:(standing up)sorry to disturb sir.. par mujhe ek kaam hain... I will take your leave..

Acp:(nodding)so disperse now.

Daya:(chuckles)Acp sir bhi disperse now bolne wale the na..

Shreya turns from the main door as he stop smiling while kajal-ishita giggles.

Kajal:(happily in heart)Finally Sachin sir ke saath kaam karne ka mauka mila.

Abhi:(follow shreya )Shreya tune kuch nahi kaha Acp sir ne daya ko case handle karne diya..(raising his eyes) ye chamatkar kaise hua?

Shreya:(smiles)Abh Acp sir aur aapki baat kaise tal sakti hu sir.

Abhi smiling nodes as he comes out of her cabin and was confused with her smiling face.

At the end of the day, Freddy was back to office with Ishita running towards him.

Ishita:Freddy sir aap aagye?

Freddy;(looks back then at himself them at her)Haa mujhe lagta hain main aagaya, tumhe kya lagta hain?

Ishita:Sir..

Freddy:(smiling)fikar maat karo Vivek ek dum theek hain uska discharge bhi hogaya hain aur do teen dino mein wo wapas aane lagega.

Ishita:Sachi..

Freddy;Haa...

They were smiling when Shreya Abhijeet walk inside the breaue followed by kavin.

Kavin:Freddy sir aap aagaye..

Freddy looks at Ishita as both of them chuckles exchanging glances.

Shreya:(glares at ishita)Ishita reports submit hogaye?

Ishita:No maam.

Shreya:(glaring)Then move and finish it fast and now..

She nodes while Abhi narrow his eyes looking at shreya with kavin Freddy feeling sad for her.

It's been 2 days since Daya had got a case while he and kavin were stuck on it. Vivek was back in office but he had some rucks with Daya so he ignored him and also avoided Ishita.

Kajal was happy working with Sachin as purvi,pankaj and nikhil was away along with Acp on seminar conference.

Freddy and Vivek were working on handling all the reports.

Abhijeet was on emergency leave due to Tarika health was not well with shreya alone working on a case where she was straggling with some clue missing.

It's was night 1 O clock, everyone had left office but shreya was still in her cabin working on the case reports with points the evidences on dashboard, making assumption.

Hamesha ki tarha tum phir kuch miss kar rahi ho shreya..

Shreya suddenly jerka with the sound as she turned around to find Daya leaned on the cabin door looking at her.

Shreya:(glaring crossing her arms)Abh tak aap yaha kya kar rahe hain?

Daya:Tumhare jaise kaam..

Shreya:Please leave mujhe bohut kaam hain.

Daya;So do I shreya..

Shreya looking at him sigh as she walks upto door trying to close it when daya stop her by holding her hand.

She felt a sensation run through her body as she glances at him while he quickly withdraw his hand looking at her.

Daya:Maine jaan bhuj ke nahi kiya..

Shreya:(smirks)Aap kabhi kuch jaan bhuj ke karte hain?sab apne aap hota hain right?

Daya:Par tum to jaan bhuj ke karti ho na?(shreya raise her eyes)tumne jaan bhuj ke mujhe wo purana mital wala case diya(she smirks smiling)dekho haso maat bas meri help kardo..

Shreya:(smile shockingly)what did you say Mr.Daya?

Daya:Meri help kardo..

Shreya:The great Daya ko meri help chaiye?

Daya:Free mein nahi chaiye, tum meri help karo main tumhari karunga..

Shreya:Meri help aur aap??

She looks at him from top to bottom as he glances at her.

Daya:Ye case ka ek clue tum miss kar rahi ho, main tumhari help karta hu tum meri karo with mital case please..

Shreya:(smirking)See my ex.husband(he looks at her while she smiling leans on door)is case ko to main solve kar hi lungi lekin aapko aise kyu lagta hain ki main aapki kisi bhi tarha se help karungi for mital case?

Daya:Please shreya, dekho Alimony ke liye mujhe paise chaiye, shar pe loan hain karza hain please mujhe job chaiye..(staring at her) let's play fair.

Shreya:(laughs)hahahaha.. fair aap ke muh se ye word bilkul acha nahi lagta.

Daya;Shreya tum mujhe jo kehna hain kehlo lekin iss waqt tumhe meri mujhe tumhari zarurath hain.Kam se Kam itna to tum janti ho ki main bina baat ke kuch nahi kehta right?

Shreya stare at him for a while then nodes her head with taking a deep breathe.

Shreya:fine boliye (moves from his way as he enter her cabin)kya miss kar rahi hu main?

Daya:(take the marker with moving to board)Shreya agar Kishor 29 ko Japan mein tha to wo Mumbai mein nahi rehsakta.

Shreya:(raising her eyes)ye point tha?

Daya:(smiling)Tum bilkul nahi badli, phele sun to lo.

She looks at him as he turn to board with pointing a name.

Daya:Khoon Kamat ne kiya hain.

Shreya;How?

Daya:Rithika ke marne se puri property Kishor ko milegi, ilzam aur shak pura Kishore pe aajayega and usko jail hoskati hain. Usske baad property sidha kamat ko milegi aur uski acting aur innocence ko dekhke kishor khud usse dedega property shambhalne.

Shreya:Convincing nahi lagri.

Daya:Andhere mein tir maarke dekho(round up Kamat name)nishane pe nahi laga to batana.

Shreya looks at him and she the old daya infront of her for whom she left everything.

Daya turns to her with raising his eyes as she looks at him and move.

Daya:Hello.. meri help?

Shreya:(looks at him)phele iss case ka result to aane dijiye, pata to chale ki aapke andar abhi bhi wo tactics hain ya aap bhi andhere mein tir chala rahe ho?

Daya:Shreya dekhlo, main kaha jaa raha hu. Main yahi hu aur tum bhi yahi ho.

Shreya looked at him for a while as he smile with twinkling eyes. These twinkling eyes were the reason she fell for

Shreya:(showing him out way)now please excuse.

Daya:ok maam.

She looks down into her file when she hear a knock on the door as she looks at to find daya smiling looking at her.

Daya:Kal sab theek raha to hum dinner pe jaa sakte hain?

Shreya:(glaring)dinner?

Daya:(Putting his hand up)casual dinner hain bas as thankyou from my end.

Shreya:(sighing)agar khooni Kamat nikla to.

Daya:Wo to niklega hi so main tumhari fav place pe dinner book kardeta hu.

He winks at her moving as shreya looks at him moving. She was lost in her thoughts about Daya and her feelings.

She watched her ex-husband, Daya, walk into the office building. It had been five years since their bitter divorce, and she had hoped to never see him again but Fate, it seemed had other plans.

Shreya:kya ho raha hain ye sab aur kyu? Daya se main jitna dur jaana chati hu uthna hi pass jaa rahi hu.

She was tired of him, she pulled up all her document as she walked out of her cabin glancing at daya desk who was working.

Shreya had built a successful career as a senior female cop, known for her sharp intellect and unwavering determination. She had left no room for love or distractions, focusing solely on her professional growth. Daya, on the other hand, had always been financially dependent on her, and alimony had become a contentious issue between them.

Shreya drove the car towards her house with various thoughts in her mind.

With Daya entering the office, her anger began to rise. She had spent years trying to forget the pain he had caused her. The mere sight of him stirred up memories that she had tried so hard to bury.

Her eye were red with water stopped at the corner of her eyes.

With her hardwork she learned about the world antics and earned the nickname "Dreaded Devil" in the office due to her fierce nature and no-nonsense attitude.

Rumors of her being devil catching the culprits had reached everyones ears.

Shreya found herself entangled in a web of emotions. She loathed Daya for his past actions and yet couldn't help but feel a flicker of frustration with the alimony situation.

She had agree to be part of a deal which she hated but agreed to do it for case.

She reached her home with laying down on her bed without getting refreshed or changing as she placed her hand on the side of the bed where Daya use to sleep.

Daya:I love you shreya..

She clench her eyes tightly with her heart beating fast,a part of her still loved him, but she was determined not to let her heart overshadow her judgment.

Next day, as daya suggested Kamat was the culprit and he was happy.

Shreya in corner of the heart knew that Daya had always been genuinous. It's was one of his quality for which she fell for him.

She had soft expressions today for which everyone were suprised, it was history that the whole day shreya did not scream aur scolded anyone.

Daya:(highfived with kajal-ishita)I knew I win this round.

Abhi and shreya saw Daya, kajal and Ishita practicing shooting targets with placing bet in it.

Abhi:(thinking)Daya kyu pange leta hain shreya se ?subha se mood Acha tha abh daath khayega.(shreya moved from there with surprising Abhi)ye kya hua, shreya ne daya ko kuch nahi kaha.kyu?haha..

Daya:kajal now your turn.(he glances at shreya)Shreya..

She looked at him as kajal & Ishita turned around with practicing shooting with be placing the gun and ear buds aside and walks upto her shocking Abhi.

Daya:shamko ko 9 baje?

Shreya:Fine wahi pe mital ka case discuss karlete hain.

Daya:(smiling)done.

She moved glancing at him and other bending.

Shreya:left mark follow karenge to target pe beech mein fire hoga.

Daya turned and looked at his board then turned to find her gone and Abhi was standing in her place.

Abhi:kya chal raha hain?

Daya;Sab theek karne ki kosish.

Abhi:(smiles)really?

Daya:(nodes)haa..badmein baat karte hain.

Daya moves back to practicing as Abhi smiles seeing his best friend having normal conversation with shreya after a very very long time.

Daya was waiting at shreya fav restaurant with shreya turn up on exact time. They meet outside while Daya notice she got changed and smile at her.

Daya;You look beautiful.

Shreya:(nodes modestly)chale?

Daya:(showing her way)After you pretty lady.

She again nodes modestly as both their way inside and land on a table shocking shreya and daya smiling.

Daya:Shreya bhetho na.

Shreya:(looks at him then at the other person who sitting their)Kavin what are you doing here?

Daya:(smiling)Mital case mein kavin bhi part tha and usse meri kuch help bhi chaiye thi to I asked him to join. Tum bhetho na order karte hain.

Shreya gluping her anger sit down beside kavin as he pulls a chair while shreya was reading daya expressions who was cool with she sitting with kavin.

Kavin:Shreya you look wonderful.

Shreya:(nodes)thanks.

Daya:I know.. right.. (looking at order as shreya grinning her teeth looks at him)tum wahi streak pasta logi na yaha ka tumhara fav?

Shreya:(grinning her teeth)Pasta..

Kavin:same for me..

Daya:Wow tum dono ki pasand ek dum same hain.

Kavin:(blushing)haa.. what a coincidence.

Shreya:(glaring at Daya)I know..

Daya orders as he looks at shreya for help in case. She refrain her anger with Kavin adoring her. She shares some insights as Daya was amazed with the points.

Daya:Wow ye to point valid and solid hain. Maine socha hi nahi aise..

Shreya:(nodes)hmm kavin tumne bhi nahi socha.

Kavin:(lost in her)nahi aaj kal tumhare alwa kuch nahi soch raha hu.

Shreya:(shocked)excuse me?

Kavin:(stressing)I..I mean tumhare kaam ke alwa ye jo case tumne diya hain wo.

Shreya felt strange as she glance at daya who was smiling and laughing at the situation.

Soon they have dinner and through out the dinner Kavin kept complimenting her while she was glancing at daya who was trying to finish his dinner fast.

Kavin:Daya sir aap aaram se khaiye na.

Daya:Itne dino apna fav dish kharaha hu so it amazing.

Kavin smiles at him as shreya felt bad seeing kavin as excuse herself for washroom.

Shreya:(washroom)ahahhahahahahahha... daya aaaaaaaa

She mess her hair with anger glancing at herself thinking about her stupidity.

Shreya:Idiot hu main, main yaha bhan than ke aagayi aur ye hain ki kisi aur ke saath mujhe set kar rahe hain. Unbelievable...

She takes walks in washroom cursing Daya taking a deep breathe she set her hair apply lipstick and move out to find daya missing.

Shreya:Daya kaha hain?

Kavin:Unhe kuch kaam agaaya so he left, tum deserts khaogi na?

Shreya glanced at him then at the door and saw Daya out of the glass door woth she without answering kavin make her way outside the restaurant.

Kavin was confused as he kept calling her but she did not answer as he was confused with her behavior.

As daya drove his car shreya comes in between and he immediately apply break with jerk.He looks at her and comes out shocked.

Daya:Tum theek ho(he looks at her with worry as she was pissed with his change of attitude) andar Kavin tha to tum bhar kya kar rahi ho?

Shreya(angirly):Aap kya kar rahe hain?

Daya:(confused)Maine kya kiya?

Shreya:Do you even have sense jo aap karne ki kosish kar rahe hain usmein?

Daya:Shreya what did I do?tum itna kyu gussa ho?

Shreya:Main gussa nahi to kya karu?Aap jaan bhujkar mujhe Kavin ke saath chod ke aagaye.

Daya:(nodding)haa taki tum dono baat kar sako.

Shreya:kya baat?

Daya:Shreya wahi baatein jo kisi bhi relationship ke phele hoti hain, wahi jo ek ladka ladki ke beech hoti hain.

Shreya:what do you mean?

Daya:(holding her by shoulder)Calm down, see I know tum dono ek dusre mein intrested ho to I was just making time for you both.

Shreya was suprised as daya was trying to explain.

Daya:Main bas..

Shreya:Are you nuts?

Daya:Shreya what's the problem?

Shreya:Problem is you.. Mr.shetty.

Daya:Maine kiya kya hain wo to batao..

Shreya(shouting):Daya iss duniya mein kaun apni wife ko kisi aur ke saath date pe set kart hain?

Daya:(shouting back)ex.wife.....

Shreya looked at him with his words ringing in her ears as he looked at her with holding his head.

Daya:Shreya, tum bhul kaise sakti ho tum meri ex.wife ho, hum dono ek dusre se alag ho chuke hain.

Shreya:(grinning her teeth)right, main bhul jaati hu lekin abh nahi bhulgi Daya, I will make sure I rip you into pieces and feed you to bloody dogs and cats.. (snaps at him)I will make sure to do that..

Daya:Are..

He was looking at her nervously as she kicks her leg on his car with he getting tensed and she walks away scolding herself.

Daya:Meri ek lauti car hain..

Shreya:idiot.

Daya rub his head with tension as he walks around with caring his car.

Daya:Sorry, ye shreya dhamki ajeeb deti hain. Main to sab theek kar raha tha lekin ye sab kya hogaya.
