Alternative Amnesia (3)

Okay, this should be the third and final part. BelieverChick1 requested this if you haven't figured out by now haha.

My POV

After sitting up here and contemplating life, or how to fix Hiccup's Amnesia problem, or how much it would cost to build a bridge between Tasmania and Antartica, I finally decide to go and see if I can actually fix this.

So, I stand up, and pull out my remote. I zap myself down to be outside the clubhouse, and when the light fades, I'm surprised to see Hiccup standing right there. We both jump back when we realise, and I quickly put my remote away.
"Uh..hi?" I offer nervously.
"D-...what was—what was that?" He asks. I shrug.
"I..don't know how to explain it to you. Anyway, uh, what are you doing out here?" I ask. He shrugs.
"Oh, well, yeah, I just thought that if I saw some 'familiar' surroundings it might jog my memory?" He replies. I frown.
"So, you haven't remembered anything then?" I ask downcast, but it's more of a statement. He sighs.
"Nope, But I really, really want to." He responds.
"Sorry I got you into this mess." I apologise.
"It's fine. I just want to get my memory back, is all."
"It's not fine, but I'll ignore that. We should just focus on getting your memory back, yeah?" I offer.
"Sure." he replies. "This feels really-uh-awkward, but what was your name again?" He asks sheepishly.
"I'm Sophie." I reply with a nod.
"Heh, strange name." He responds, not knowing it's very common these days. I rise an eyebrow. (fun fact I can't do that in real life...whh did you need to know that?)

"No offense, but it's better than Hiccup!" I respond with a smile. He shrugs with a grin.
"I'll leave you to think, or whatever." I add before I start walking into the clubhouse. I get in there to see Fishlegs going over notes in a book (probably trying to find the cure), Ruffnut cooking something that looks suspiciously like chicken, with Tuffnut on the floor crying and covering chicken's eyes.

"Hey." I mumble. I get small heys in return.
"Where's Astrid and the Snot thing?" I ask with a small smirk at the nickname.
"Snot thing? Really?!" I turn to see Snotlout walking into the clubhouse.

"Well it was either that or 'Snototron' alright?!" I respond with a laugh.
"Whatever. And to answer your question, Hooky and I were out on patrol."

"Astrid is on her way to see Heather. Together they're gonna go around the allies and let them know of the situation." Fishlegs answers my original question. I nod and walk over to him.
"Any progress?" I ask him curiously, and cautiously. He sighs and shakes his head.
"No, but I'm gonna keep looking. Any ideas?" He asks me, and I bite my lip.
"We could elaborate on the whole familiar surroundings thing?" I offer. "We just gotta keep the dragons away until he's more comfortable. Wait, speaking of dragons, where's Toothless?" I ask. Suddenly, everyone in the room looks up at my words, startled. Hiccup chooses this time to walk in.

"Our dragons are on the roof, but we haven't seen Toothless for hours!"
"W-wait, he's missing?!" I exclaim, worried. I get that he may want to be alone, but if he hasn't been seen for hours...well, we should be concerned.
"Guys."
"Yeah. We had a look for him on our patrol, but didn't see him. I mean, we stopped our patrol like an hour ago and just chilled in the forest, but, still." Snotlout explains.
"Guys."
"Well, we should take a look around for him, then." I conclude, getting bods of agreement. "Hiccup-with-his-memory wouldn't forgive us if something happened to Toothless. Even if Hiccup-without-his-memory is scared of him."
"GUYS!" We all turn to look at Hiccup, who's standing there, annoyed. "Finally! Now, I'm here to tell you that a ship has anchored at our beach. And they've got like, green looking cages." He tells us. We all gasp.

"Oh, no!" I breath.
"Who are they? Do you..we know them?"
"They're dragon hunters, and they're out for our dragons, and us. They're very bad people, ruthless and merciless. Our current enemy. They might even have Toothless!" Fishlegs replies.

"Okay, They can not know about Hiccup's current..disadvantage!" Snotlout exclaims.
"Astrid's not even here! Hiccup can't ride, Toothless is Thor-knows-where, and hunters are here! That's perfect!" I scoff.
"Alright. What do we do?" Ruffnut asks, abandoning her chicken.
"Hiccup, stay here. The rest of us will go down and do our best to hold them off." Fishlegs explains. Hiccup nods. We all run out while Hiccup stays back, our aim is to get Toothless and any other dragons free, if they have him, that is. When we're out, the dragons come down. Even Roxi turns up and perches on my shoulder.

"Alright, come on!" Snotlout exclaims, mounting Hookfang. Everyone else follows suit.
"I'm gonna meet you down there. First, I have to get a little help from my time!" I exclaim, pulling out my remote. "Roxi, please help them!" I tell my friend, and she purrs in agreement, taking off.
I zap myself home, and without blinking I grab anything I can find. Then, I zap myself back to dragons edge, turning up behind a boulder. I peak my head around to get a close up view of the riders attacking the hunters. I even see Roxi annoying Ryker. I nod to myself then bound over the boulder, charging at them. Ryker turns to face me as I approach and draws his sword. But before he can do anything, I raise the fresh fish and slap him right in the face.
Hey, I panicked. I grabbed what I could!
Then, I slam the pitchfork from home (don't ask) into Ryker's sword. He growls at me and pushes back, but I just grin, reaching into my pocket. My hand emerges with my final trick—a ziplock bag full of chicken seasoning. I open it and chuck it in his face. He coughs and stumbles back, eyes stinging. I dodge around him, grabbing keys from his belt and running towards the cages.

"We'll cover you! Go! Toothless is in one of them!" Snotlout yells down at me from on top of Hookfang. I nod and dash for the closest cage. Inside is a Nadder. I stuck the key in the lock and unlock the lock. I pull open the gate and the dragon comes free, even attacking Ryker on the way. I move onto the next cage. This one is, thankfully, Toothless. He purrs at the sight of a familiar face as I unlock the door, wrenching it open. He rubs up against me in thanks on his way out, smiling his toothless grin, before running at Ryker and attacking him. I grin in relief and move on to release the rest of the dragons.

All is going well, we're winning, until a bang sounds from the clubhouse, and everyone stops. Turns out, Ryker, as a last ditch attempt, had directed a catapult at the clubhouse. I guess he noticed Hiccup isn't here.
"No!" We all exclaim. Toothless growls form next to me, eyeing the clubhouse as it crumples.
Hiccup's in there.

Everyone takes off towards the clubhouse without a thought. The hunters retreat back into the ocean, somehow believing they've won, or something. Toothless quickly runs forward, but nudges me onto the saddle on the way, and growls again. Getting the hint, I stick my foot in the stirrup (this thing is NOT like a horses stirrup!) and click to a random position, praying I'm right. The tail spreads we we take off into the air, getting to the clubhouse in seconds. As soon as we get there I jump off and we run inside, to see the gang crowed around something.

I get closer and realise it's Hiccup. He's laying down, unmoving.
"What happened?" I ask as Toothless and I run up.
"We saw him hit his head just as we came in." Fishlegs mutters with a frown.
"At least he's breathing." I mutter.
Toothless barges past and frantically licks his riders face. At first, nothing happens, but then Hiccup stirs. He slowly sits up, supported by his friends, and blinks open his eyes.

"What happened?" He mutters, disoriented, looking around, holding his head with a pained look. Toothless warbles.Hiccup smiles and pats his head softly.
"H-Hey. I'm glad to see you too, bud."
"You remember!" We all shout in glee.
"Uh..yeah. Why shouldn't I?"
"You lost your memory and couldn't even remember Toothless." Snotlout answer bluntly. "You thought you were fifteen again."
"Wow. Way to break it to him easily." I scoff sarcastically at Snotlout, hitting him upside the head. Hiccup looks like everything is coming back to him.
"What a mess, huh." He mutters.
"Are you hurt?" Fishlegs asks worriedly but Hiccup shakes his head no, standing up carefully.

"The hunters—"
"They're gone." Snotlout cuts him off. "Ran. Sissies." he scoffs.
Hiccup nods, visibly more relaxed. "That's a relief. Any dragons hurt? Wait, where's Astrid?"
"She's gone with Heather to tell the allies about you...uh crap!" Snotlout complains, realising that she's telling them he's hit when he's no longer.
"We have to wait for her to get back so we can go and tell the allies it's a false alarm." Fishlegs mutters. I smirk.
"Leave that to me!" I exclaim, and press a button on my remote. Suddenly, Astrid and Heather with their dragons appear.
"Whoa!" They exclaim, then look around confused.
"..Surprise?" Hiccup offers.
Astrid turns to him. "Do you..."

"There will always be a Hiccup and Astrid. Always." he quotes himself. Astrid grins and leap into his arms, the two hugging tightly. The two share a kiss and I quietly aww.
Astrid pulls back, smiling, and punches hiccup in the arm. "Muttonhead. Don't you dare do that to me again!" she exclaims while he rubs his arm with a frown.
"But..thats not..ugh! I give up!" he complains and throws his arms up. Astrid laughs at him, and then he pulls her closer again into a sweet kiss.

++++++
A few minutes later we are all eating some mutton around the fire, explaining anything to Hiccup he's not clear of.
"..So, we made the explosions. Yeah..you might, uh, want to fix your hut." Tuffnut reluctantly explains. Hiccup sits down, joining us, a large block of ice pressed to his head.

"And not too long after, probably five minutes, we came in and found you." Fishlegs adds.

"And, I just thought you were doing your dare at first, but soon we figured out that you did actually loose your memory." I finish.
"Lets not forget the part where you panicked and blamed yourself." Snotlout laughs and I roll my eyes at his words. I'm, what they call, stubborn.
"Well, it was my fault, I mean, I did dare you." I tell Hiccup, who waves it off with one hand.
"Don't be ridiculous. Accidents happen!" He exclaims.
"Bu--"
"It's fine! I'm okay!" he assures, cutting me off. I try again.
"You lost your memory, don't act like it's not a big d–-"
"I'm telling you, it's fine, you are forgiven! We can move on with life!" He exclaims. I sigh.
"Alright, as long as you are okay." I give in, then stand up.
"I'm gonna head hone before I mess something else up!" I exclaim jokingly, chuckling slightly, and pulling out my remote. I give them a small wave then zap myself back to the present.
